Kerrin, sorry you're not feeling too good today. Hopefully, it will settle down soon. Hope you enjoyed your swim.
Joan, I forced myself to stay up as my daughter usually sends me a message. This year she'd gone to bed before midnight. I think there was only my sister up.
Mig, we had the wind and rain battering the window during the night but not too bad today. I've had a look at the sales online but there's nothing I need or want at the moment. I'm saving up for new windows.
Toni, that sounds like a lovely evening. Good food and good company. And you stayed up for midnight. I did, just.
Barbara, is your back a bit easier now? I hope so. Did you manage to get some sleep in the recliner? And you have your form to fill in. Carols didn't take too long so hopefully yours won't.
Kath, there were a few fireworks at teatime and at midnight but only a few. Hope there weren't a lot where you are.
I stayed up till around 11.40 then decided to get ready for bed and sit with my laptop and phone at the ready and watch the bells and fireworks on tv in bed. I was just finishing in the bathroom and heard the fireworks and wondered why people were setting them off 15 minutes early. Got in to bed, switched the tv on and found it was 5 past midnight. I'd missed the bells but saw the fireworks. Only got one message and that was from my sister who was a bit worse for wear after a drink. Oh well. new year countdown smiley My other sister knocked on my door this afternoon and said she was going to my other sister's house for an hour if I wanted to go. It's been quite a few years since she's been to mine. Anyway, we had a bit of a catch-up and exchanged presents so that was nice.

Evening everyone.
Felt a bit better today, still headachy and tired but that is my normal at the moment. My swimming club are going to swim in Olympic pool tomorrow but going to pass as it would knock me out all day!
Managed to be awake at midnight last night but did sleep from about 9-11!
Barbara, hope the back feels better. I used a big bean bag to sleep when I had shoulder bursitis. Jerry the cat has now taken residence.

Good Evening all Hope you have all had a good New Years Day mine has been a rather Lazy one have not been out the only thing I have done is put some washing into the machine and cooked dinner Mr Turbo did tea this evening the rest off the time ive been sitting watching tele and falling asleep in the armchair (unusual for me). Tomorrow although I will go out for my usual potter around the high street and maybe a nice cuppa coffee and a bite to eat while I am out. had a nice evening yesterday as youngest daughter stayed over night again to see in the new year with us and we a good time was had by all. Next couple of days will be quite busy getting thing sorted to go away on Wednesday morning want to get a train around 9.30- 10 am so that I get to Margate around lunch time
Yes Barbara 3 sleeps as we say good luck with your name change it took us 2 weeks 1 day for the whole process. cos we paid for guaranteed next day delivery. but they are very quick with the process. next job for us before any thing else is an appointment at the bank on Tuesday to change the name on our bank accounts before we change it with others.
Toni Mrs Posh-Turbo that made me laugh yes 3 more sleep can't come quick enough now so longing for snuggles and baby cuddles only thing is little Lillie goes back to school on the 4th the day I go down so possibly wont see her till she gets home from school. but ill see the others when I get down there.
Joan not long at all 3 more sleeps as my grandchildren would say.
Christine yes my parents taught me manners and I taught my kids and it has been passed down to grandchildren and now great grandchildren and it don't take much to teach them I always say manners cost nothing. but lots of todays parents don't have manners themselves  so you can't blame the kids really after all they learn from your example.
Love to you all happy new year toastStay positive always👍xx0 -
Well, it is now 2017
A Happy New Year to All.
I seem to have missed 24 hours, again.
Hi Joan, happy new year to you and to Sue and the doggies. Mum and Dad are doing ok, bruising going down now and mum is on lots of AB's. They popped in yesterday for a cuppa and I check her leg every day, to make sure the redness has not gone past the marker points. Yes, Cellulitis can come back, repeatedly, unfortunately, just one of those things can appear from nowhere, but is often triggered by some local trauma or infection. I will have to remind Dad to use his stick, but you can lead a horse to water.................
hi Carol, happy new year to you and yours.... oh the days are counting down now and the excitement must be mounting.
So glad you have you name officially documented now, happy days
I would be the same without my crutches, I would spend more time on the floor than upright, if I tried to get about outside without them. I am used to them now, but I felt very odd at first and very conscious. As you say, needs must.
You are right about parents not giving and teaching their children even the most basic of manners and social skills. They just carry on playing cheeky bingo or sending constant texts to one another. Sad society in many ways, but you and yours are to be proud of.
Hi Toni happy new year to you paul lucy charlie gf and diddicat et al.
We managed to avoid going out for new year, my back neck and well, everywhere is shouting very loudly. our neighbours popped in at midnight, in their PJ's, hugs and happy new years then they ran back home in the pouring rain, That was fine, bless them. I didn't even have to get out of my chair.
Dad, well, yes, I will go down the blackmail route and thinking of his greater good and how Mum needs him to be ok and not in a heap.
No worries, Milton wipes are wonderful, I must get to a big Tes-- and stock up on the sprays and wipes.
I know, poor love, she is still not right, not eating, but is drinking. Caught her hubby walking the dog, said she has not taken her tablets either. I said oh, they are a MUST, there are cardiac ones in the mix, so they must be taken, even if not eating. I said I will pop round tomorrow. Rather concerned, she will be dehydrating and loosing essential trace elements that are very important, like potassium etc.
He said the district nurses won't come out, she has to go into the surgery - oh no says I. Ring the surgery on Tuesday and ask for a home visit from the GP, if not, I will
So you had a moped, you will understand completely about driving in horrid weather.
Undies hit the floor, LOL oh dear... .....I have taken my silk head scarf thing off and it has been frozen solid across my face. :frozen:
Is Barbara still not eating sweet things, I will have to look, she might well have a fever.
Hi Mig, happy new year, I see the milton wipes are becoming a daily essential, which is very good to hear, lol. We are all addicted to them now. Mild bleach is great, that kills virus's, they have a hard shell coating, which anti bac cannot get through, but bleach gives them the shove, plus hot soap and water, breaks them down too.
Happy new yea Kath, glad you are feeling a bit better, now that you have your prescription in adequate supply. Good that you have been having a rest and a catch up. I will have to look for the advert on you tube.
hi Barbara, oh dear, bless you that is not the start to the new year that you wanted at all. So sorry that you ended up in a and e. Good the hear that the staff were wonderful, plus you were red flagged. Oh my.
Peace and quiet is very special. I know being lonely is a different matter all together, but your own space in your own time, in your own home, is priceless.
You rest there and I will get some lavender pats, wheaties, anti cough medicine, we don't want any more sudden jolts. I am glad it has eased a little, but, as you say, we set like stones if we don't move for any length of time.
I will send George round too. He can make T and give lots of medical attention.
The jury is out on back ops, some are absolutely necessary, as in no option, from trauma etc. Some are elective, to help ease pain, by fusion of vertebrae. Laminectomy. The Cons Ortho said he would not touch me with a barge pole, because of my heart condition, so that's a no go. Some say it has really helped, some say is has done very little, it is a bit 50 50 in my experience.
Take so much care, I will be keeping an eye
Hi Christine, happy new year to you. We are not social animals at all really - the older we get the more anti social we are :? Glad you Daughter and SIL had a great time in Edinburgh. They will need a night in to recover. A lot of people we had spoken to when out and about, said they were staying in, quiet night, watch the fireworks on the Thames, listen to Jules Holland his hooten annie Glad you had a catch up with your sisters, ooops, for being worse for wear, lol, I am sure she was not alone.
Hi Kerry, happy new year, but not good that you are feeling yucky, mtx has a habit of making people feel like that, unfortunately. Hugs that you feel better as soon as possible. Good to read you are feeling a bit better for new years day. An olympic pool, oh they are very big..........I will pass too. Our neighbours on the other side have adopted a cat called Jerry.
That meal sounds yummy Mig, any room at the table Yes, we bought a soundbar for the TV, from Sains
in their sale. Took it back yesterday, as every time there was conversation on the tv, the sound went to nothing  Got our money back and Sain
was deserted, we almost had the store to ourselves, it must have been national hangover day, no cars about, it was wonderful.
Have ordered a different one, online, to collect in Arg-- today, has rave reviews and all paid for with the vouchers we had for Christmas from family and friends. Lovely.
You had a Chinese Toni, very nice, family night in, Charile and gf too, very nice.
I thought I saw Diddicat flying by, with a pack pack on, obviously on her way to Barbara, I think she waved to Pepe.
I see you are sorting out the train times Carol. Good that your Daughter was there to share new year with you. Don't worry about having a lazy day and falling to sleep. Dreaming of cuddles.
To those who are not here at the moment, many hugs and all the best wishes for 2017.
I had better move, time to potter me thinks.
Hattie and Nurse Glady's are on tonight. George is on home visits.
Love to all XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Morning Everyone
Joan you are right even a lovely bright yellow would be unsafe these days with all the extra traffic
Aidan yes emotional blackmail for Dad it must be done
How lovely that the neighbours popped round at midnight - I rather feel that you two are central to your little community x:D
Yes that was indeed Diddicat on her way to rescue Barbara. She had her rain mac on. She promises faithfully to start back with Pepe today...no apparently tonight. Circat training. x:roll:
Not good not drinking or taking meds....eating you can do without for a short while. I hope the doc will come out if not matron had better get on the case!!
Gosh frozen solid scarf!! OUCH OUCH OUCH!!
Still on a good day it was FUN!!
Ah Carol that is nice having your daughter for company on New Years Eve
Why not rest up a bit, but you're right - today I am back at it too
Got to be 2 sleeps now? You will see Lillie after school though won't you?
Double-barrelled does sound posh doesn't it? I hope the two names work well together
Kerrin - I think Olympic sized pools are maybe a bit much just yet x:shock: I hope you are recovering form your MTX now and Tom and Jerry are well.
Jerry has sense half-inching your unused bean-bag. Lucy has a V pillow for her shoulder.
Christine - not sure it's worth staying up until midnight. It's for the young in my opinion who are looking forward to fun-stuff in the new Year
I am glad you met up with your sisters a good idea and catch-up.
Shame you weren't in the room when big ben struck 12 though!!!
I sent all my texts in the morning yesterday.
Kath I am glad your MTX helps you Lucy always took hers at bed-time so she slept through any ill-effects.
New advert?? Whiskas?? I haven't seen it yet so will have to watch out for it
I hope all is well and you are still mobilising ok?
Love to everyone!

Happy New Year everyone. Hope you are all recovered.
I'm not keen on this time of year I must say. Tomorrow I have to get up at 6 to give myself time to take the painkillers and walk about slowly as Dan is back at school. Poor lad won't like getting up early, especially in this cold

Evening everyone.
It's back to school for me tomorrow, where has the holiday gone? And any thoughts of having an easy day have been shattered as both my coaches are not starting tomorrow. It's nice of them to tell me. So I have to teach 3 PE lessons eek. Also back to swimming in the evening.
Barbara hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.
I try to sleep through the effects of my MTX as well but seem to be having some mild side effects - nausea, fatigue (not so mild!), headaches and indigestion. Need to contact the rheumy dept in the next few days so will mention it.
Aidan, better make sure I still have my Jerry cat and that the little minx has not been adopted by your neighbour.
Time to try fall asleep as early start tomorrow. Always battle night before going back.

Kerrin, glad you are feeling a bit better although not at your best at the moment. Yes, the olympic pool might just be too much. Oh, you have 2 PE lessons tomorrow. Bet you could do without that. Hope it goes ok and doesn't wear you out.
Carol, I think it does us all good to have a lazy day now and again. How lovely to have your daughter stay for new year. What a shame Lillie will be at school when you get there but it'll give you an opportunity to meet the baby first.
Aiden, love your new clock. Wasn't that lovely of your neighbours to pop over to wish you happy new year. Hope they didn't get too wet on the way home. Mum's leg doesn't seem to be getting worse. I know you are keeping a close eye on it.
Toni, I hope Diddycat and Pepe didn't get wet and both had their rain macs on. I don't think it's worth staying up on NYE either. I only do it as my daughter always says she wants to wish me happy new year but she had fallen asleep this year. I think that will be the last time I do it.
Barbara, red flagged eh? Does that mean you have been naughty? What have you been up to? Hope your back is a little easier today. At least Aiden has sent George round to look after you, you lucky thing.
Joan, good idea to get a coloured stick. My eyes are about the same. They get worse when I'm tired but not too bad if I get enough sleep. Thanks for asking.
Elizabeth, I hope it all goes well tomorrow and you manage to get up and about in time. Hope Dan manages too. I'm at work tomorrow and not looking forward to it.
I decided to take a walk up to Ald* today to get some exercise and fresh air. I put it off till mid-morning till some off the frost had melted. It was still quite slippy though so it took quite a while to get there and back as I went the long way round to avoid 2 steep banks. I've got everything ready for work tomorrow but I really don't want to go but needs must. I want to take my decorations down but also want to leave them till the kids see them. They are coming on Wednesday now so I'll get them to help me.Christine0 -
Just a quick pop-by to say if you don't see me tomorrow it's because Lucy has a check up with Dr Tim. Fingers crossed please everyone that she's still in remission.
It is 3 years today since she fainted in Primark :?
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Evening to one and all. I am determined not to miss another 24 hours, so, with 10 minutes until midnight, I am on a countdown.......
Hi Joan, yes, I think I will have to keep up with the stick saga and Dad. We could tempt him with a fancy colour. We went round this morning, to find him up on the mini step ladder, on top of the steps outside their door.......... Trying to change the outside light bulb. OH was soon to the rescue and sorted it, fortunately Dad remained upright. What do you do.
Mums leg is improving, she is back at the treatment room today, for a check up and change of dressing, (which is there more to protect it from being knocked again). It wasn't hurting today, so that was good.
Hope you are both keeping warm and snug, doggies too.
Hi Toni, we were only saying, on the way home, that we should have a sign outside saying CAB and Treatment Room are not open. :?
OH has taken net doors dads laptop, to bring it all up to date, up to speed and back into the modern day, lol. That is all done and ready now, like new and much better.
The pills I gave to our other neighbour, (who had the heart valve replacement), to relieve the persistent nausea, seem to have worked and she has started to eat now, which is good, plus she is taking her other pills as well.
Next doors toe, is duly improving
I think that is all for the day, clinic is now closed.
So tonight they are doing circat training, I assume that will be when we are all asleep, as Pepe has just about managed to turn round and to back to sleep again. I thought her rain mac was rather fetching
An extra layer tonight, to keep the frost out me thinks.
Riding the motorbike was fun, apart from when I was falling off. I was terrible, I did pass my test for it, before I took my car test. I remember following a car once, with quite a lot of writing under the number plate, I was very curious to see what it said. Not taking notice of the traffic lights I bumped straight into the back of it, obviously falling off in the process. It was an unmarked police training car.................... :? big oooops. I had my uniform on under my coat and I apologised profusely, said I had sneezed and turned the throttle by mistake. No damage was done and they let me carry on. Teach me for being so nosey.
I still haven't looked for the advert for Whiska's, I must do so.
Oh dear Barbara, we will have to find a cure for this loss of ability to eat cake. I will have to look in my book of spells, lol. Better still, I found one that is a cake at the same time, so one bite and all should be well once more.
I am sure you will make the right decision about your back operation, weighing all things, pro's and con's. You did very well climbing the stairs and sleeping sat in a more upright posture. It is damned hard work climbing stairs at the best of times, let alone when you are putting a lot of pressure on a very fragile area. Neck and back are not much better, but that's the way of things I guess.
As you so rightly say, we have our coping mechanisms, hard as it is, we seem to find a way. Sending many gentle hugs. Diddicat does make a very good nurse and hot water bottle
Hi there Elizabeth, my best wishes for the new year. Between you and me, I am glad that it is now back to normal so to speak, everyone has been suitably fed and watered. I bet the ham was very good, mmmm, cold, the next day, with some cranberry jelly. I might pop round.
I hope you managed to wake Dan and it was not too difficult getting up so early.
You take lots of care too. XX
Hi Kerring, back to school already, it seems to have gone quickly this end of term break. I assume the kiddies are back around here too.
I hope your day is not too bad, not telling you is a bit mean, teaching back to back lessons.......
You seem to be struggling with the side effects of the MTX, they can give other drugs to help with all the problems you mention, not sure if you are taking anything to help at the moment. Fatigue is just horrid, it is a monster, that grabs us all by the scruff of the neck.
Yes, keep an eye on Jerry, I have not seen our Jerry today, out and about, maybe he is indoors, out of the cold.
I hope you managed to get some sleep, it is not easy when it is first day back, your mind going over everything.............
Hi Christine, you are back at work too, it is all back to normal once more. Never easy after a nice break. I remember it well.
Thank you, I love that clock, I found the picture two years ago and have kept it safe, to use again and again.
Fancy your Daughter nodding off at midnight. I cannot blame you for wanting to go to bed beforehand. Apart from the fireworks and a lot of noise. Mind you, we are up until all hours of the morning, as I loathe going to bed at night. Daytime, fine, night time, big problems.
Glad you took good care on your walk to Al--. Wise to avoid the steeper routes. It is very frosty again, sparking away.
hope work goes ok and is not too taxing.
Toni, I am there, under the cloak, with every possible positive vibes one can imagine, for Lucy. XX

Afternoon all -
Thinking about Lucy and meeting with Dr Tim - have been under the cloak and peeping, strong T and scones at the ready. XX I am crossing everything possible, like Mig.
Well done Kath, two miles, wow, how good is that? Uber good, now, have a rest and a catch up, you will need it. I will make you a drink and bring something yummy from the cake tin.
Good that Sue is nearly finished with her antibiotics. Some natural yoghurts will help to re balance the system with good bugs, long courses of AB's tends to wipe everything out, good and bad. All yoghurts contain good bacteria, some are better than others, the Activ--- ones are good, as are those little drinks Actim--.
We will ring Mum later, see what they said at the treatment room today, I think it is improving, certainly not spreading. The skin is not broken this time, which is good, the dressings are really there to protect it, from any knocks, once you break the skin, that's when it can become even more troublesome.
We have had a quiet day, popped to Tes--, got a few bits. Pottering about, washing, drying, might flick the duster round.
Oh we got a new soundbar, we took the other one back to Sain---- and they refunded, so went across the way to Argo- and chose another one.
That was £110 - OH had just seen the same one in Sainsb---- for £90. mmmm, that's not right, they are one and the same company. Told the lady at Arg-- and she said if you can pop over and get a picture of the price tag, we will price match it. Duly done and duly paid the lower price with our Christmas vouchers and we have an extra £20 to spend too Wonder how many times people are duped into paying the higher price. Grrrrrrrrr you have to be one step ahead these days.
It's a grey, windy day here, better in the warm than out and about.
Love to all, will pop back later. XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Evening everyone.
Survived the first day back at school and 3 PE lessons. Basically did the same gymnastics lesson and adjusted slightly for age. Not sure helping 60 odd kids do a backward roll helped my hand much. Legs are very achy now, and have swimming tonight, at least it's not weight bearing. 2 more PE lessons tomorrow, roll on next week when the coaches are back and I can return to 'managing'
Hope Lucy's meeting went well.
Well done Kath, you are doing so well.

Evening all
oh my what a busy day today has been spent a hour or more this morning phoning around for addresses to send name change details to and asking what I have to send them, then visit to bank for my appointment to change name on my account there then all afternoon sorting out letters ect again for name change.
had to do quite a bit today as will be away from tomorrow for the rest of the week for my snuggles and cuddles in Margate.
Still all done well what I can, and now all packed for the off tomorrow I feel as if I haven't stopped all day still it has been quite a productive day so all been worth it in the end. It's amazing really the changing the name is simple its what comes after it the causes the work
hope you are all not too cold and not in too much painStay positive always👍xx0 -
A very early morning - just. Hope everyone is as ok can be.
Toni, I hope that your day and the visit with Dr Tim went ok. Have been sending lots of positivity your way. I got lost under the cloak and had to get a lift home with diddicat on her broomstick. ((((())))) to all.
I am really glad you managed to get through your day Kerrin, even if it was back rolls  I bet you are achy, I would be in traction I think. It would take a class full to get me off the floor, so you have certainly done super well.
I hope you had a good rest this evening, oh, swimming too. goodness. Would they mind if you popped water wings on and just floated around the pool hope the water is nice and warm.
Roll on next week, as you say, managing is much better and let the coaches take the strain.
Hi there Barbara, you are not late, don't worry, I think I am one of the old "night owls", chatting to Trish until all hours of the morning. Sigh.
Good that you had a better sleep with the bean bag, not sure when our schools go back - just checked, the same as yours, next Monday. I thought it was dark in the high school as we drove past, no wonder
No worries re the hugs, we all need them and the cafe is full of them, there is a tin full, next to the cakes, they never run out and are always warm X
SO glad that you seem to be cured regarding cakes and sweet things. It must be one of those winter bugs :? I hope I don't catch it.
Oh, I see you ate them all, bless.
Good to hear I am not the only one that was forever falling off my motorbike. I had a honda 250 superdream, far too powerful really, no wonder it ran away from me on more than one occasion. I did feel safer when I passed me car test and got my first car (an Austin Allegro). That's going back a while.
The sound bar is really good, very "immersive" sound, compared to the tv speakers, (which are really good anyway, seeing as it cost a small fortune). Very pleased with our bargain purchase.
Mum might have to go into hospital as a day patient to pump some IV antibiotics in, for her leg. Has to finish her oral AB's first, then go see them again at the surgery next week. I will be advising about signs of cellulitis / dvt / etc. Trouble is they will have put a big dressing on, but I can still tell is there is a heat differential when we see them tomorrow. Excuse me Mother while I furtle around your calf and shin
Matron is never off duty. :?
You have to increase your pregabalin too. I have kind of a free reign on my doseage, I usually take 400 a day, but I can jiggle that about and up the dose to 500 - 550. The max dose is 600, but I don't want to go to the top, or you have nothing to fall back on so to speak. I hope they help you, they are pretty good at blocking out some of the pain signals in the brain.
You keep safe too and warm, it is going to be very cold tonight. Many minus.
Oh Carol, it is now time to head off to Margate for cuddles and snuggles. You have been so busy with your paperwork, as you say, changing your name is the easy part, it is the legwork afterwards, to make sure everyone knows.

Morning. Day 2 of no sports coaches. Have 2 lessons to teach today so slightly easier. Was very achy last night and battled to fall asleep. Will probably crash tonight.
Barbara, glad to hear that the bean bag helped. With me it helped as I could position the shoulder so it didn't hurt too much. Luckily the bursitis only lasted a few days.
Almost cuddle time Carol. Wave to me as you whizz past on your way to Margate.

Morning All
So sorry I was too tired to get on last night x:oops:
I do however have good news!
Lucy is still in remission and Dr Tim, (Lucy's fav Dr for Kerrin's info), is happy for her to have her shoulder operation
I will have a read back later, but just wanted to let you all know.
Glad I haven't missed Carol off to see the baby
Love
