Evening all
Poor Aidan I didn't realise he was so ill Aidan if you look in here get better soon sending (((()))).
Toni At the moment we keep getting communications from the rescue centre asking us different questions with some of them I think are a bit over the top really but the are very thorough and want to know about the home as well. But I am sure we will get there in the end. I mean as an example today we were asked as we live in a flat with a garden attached but we don't have access directly from the we have to go outside the block and into a locked gate to reach it and we have said the cat would have a window to jump out they want to know if it would be open all day . we have said yes but not when we are out but if they think I am having my kitchen window open all day in the winter they have got another think coming. then the next thing is would we be able to put a storage unit in the garden under the kitchen window so that the cat would have something to jump onto to reach the window. wouldn't mind but there is a window sill on the outside of that window which is wide enough to land on. but again we have agreed so they don't refuse to let us have cat. so it is a case of agreeing to what they ask.
Barbara On the cat situation see my message above to Toni
but hopefully it wont be too long before we have one. the Internet is now ok we have had the phone socket changed and hopefully that will do the trick it has been fine since he has been so fingers crossed it stays that way. I didn't actually get to slimming world but I think I had of done I would have had a gain but would still have been in target.
Flu jabs were had this morning al went ok there now its back to the Drs tomorrow for a follow up blood test to see if sodium level has still stayed settled over the last 4 months.
well it time for a little potter around to loosen the joints before bed
Night night all
wishing you all a good nights sleepStay positive always👍xx0 -
Thank you all for the lovely hugs and well wishes - I have not felt as ill since I had glandular fever in the mid 1990's
Glad I have not got quinsis, I did not want them. Cannot take all my usual meds, heart pills etc, every pill makes me choke !!
GP said another 24 hours and the Ab's will kick in, I wish they would.
I know Pepe has been in touch with Miss Sleek and also Hermione. I will welcome all potions, gladly.
I might just take the bush babies in for a few nights.
I wondered what pepe was parading about in earlier, it was his Dr Kildare outfit, bless.
I am writing more drivel than I can to mention, just a string of typo's, so I will go. I hope I get some sleep tonight, it is blinking cold. B is coming down with it now, just what he didn't need.
Love to all XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning Carol
Ah yes they want to know the cat can get in. In-case they give you an older cat who can't jump too well or for when he/she gets older. I take it you are the upstairs flat?? I tell you though not to worry as your cat will call you from outside Daisycat calls me even though she has her own cat-flap!!!
They are cheeky aren't they?!
Flu jabs done well done you. I'd better sort mine soon :?
Now Aidan All you can do is wait and rest and wait and rest and soon you will feel much, much better. As you said the AB's will kick in probably today. The bus babies are in bed with you but never fear they aren't silly and move if you need to turn over.
I am so sorry B has caught it now
Miss Sleek says she likes Pepe in his Dr Kildare outfit and hopes he hasn't been sticking his ear-light in your ear (or B's) Apparently he kept doing in to her  It's the stethoscope and white coat she likes on him.
No visiting Mum and Dad for you two I expect they will be on the phone checking on you instead. I'm sure all will be well. Leave your flu jab awhile though eh?
Joan I hope all is well with you we missed you yesterday I am hoping you didn't catch Sue's bug?
Love to everyone else
Toni xxx

Poor Joan I thought you had caught the bug when you didn't get on yesterday. Get well soon.
Hi Barbara I hope the bloods went ok, (kidneys staying stable), and that Women's Aid offered some useful advice to your neighbour.
Isn't quinsy dangerous tonsillitis where the tonsils swell up soooo much and you can't breathe? Aidan will know.
I'm so glad the new surgery is so good
Best of luck with Whirling dervish
Aidan Daisycat has been over (did you know?) this lunchtime to see how you are doing. Pepe was there in his Dr Kildare outfit. She has taken the ear-light thingy off him for now because he was poking it in your ear and you were asleep and the Bush-babies too.
She's watching Say Yes to the Dress again now  He is on skype.
Anyway I do hope you have turned the corner or will turn the corner today. Also that B is ok :?
Love
Toni xx0 -
Aidan Good to see you hopefully Dr is right and the ABs kick in soon Glad Pepe is looking after you. don't worry about the bushbabies cos they tell me that the pygmy possums are ready for giving tiny cuddles now. Hope B doesn't suffer to badly.
Toni No that's the point we are in a ground floor flat and our garden is right outside our Kitchen window but we don't have direct access from our flat the gate is outside in a communal area and is locked but only we have the key. but they want a storage box put under the window but honestly having had cats before I we know how high they can jump. and they are actually suggesting a slightly older cat than the original minimum age we said when we registered. and also the the window sill outside the kitchen window is wider than the than the one outside our bedroom window which was use by a lost cat who jumped in out small top bedroom window about 3 weeks ago just as we were dropping off to sleep.
JoanInternet seems to be ok since engineer changed the phone socket for an up to date one the other was a very old one.
Barbara yes sure your right about the cat jumping but the centre are like this you just have to give them the right answers. and agree with them what they want you to do. the taking of the blood was fine now just have to wait for the results and see the dr to see if I can carry on with the water tabs every day. Have had so many of them now that they don't bother me.
Night night allStay positive always👍xx0 -
I will see how far I get, before it turns in one long line of spelling mistakes.
Thank you for your kind words. I have started to drink more today, easier taking the ab's. I have taken some, not all, of my cardiac meds. Has to be ice cold water, trying T was a step too far
I should be able to take everything back to normal from Thursday you don't really realise just how much you are helped along by all the normal and other pain killers. Three days of not taking more than just the ab's, leaves you virtually at a standstill.
Still not eating, so goodness knows where my blood sugars will be, up the creek is normal when you have an infection.
The bush babies need to be quick, as I am not the most settled sleeper at the moment. I am glad of their cuddles.
B Seems to be ok at the moment, nothing has developed further, which is good. One of us needs to be on the ball.
Joan, I am sorry that you caught the horrid tummy bug, I hope it eased very quickly for you.
Quinsy's are not pleasant at all, they are abcceses that form at the side of the tonsils. They have to be drained, via a VERY long needle.
I am glad Miss Sleek is keeping an eye on Dr Kildare, he was getting a bit carried away, with his lights and poking in everyones ear, eyes, noses, etc.
OK I am done in, so I will have to stop. Carol, the cat for you will give you a nice slow blink, means they are smiling.
Later friends. XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning.
Been a while. The last of my family return to SA today so things can return to normal.....or as close to normal as possible.
Very tired this week as took the kiddies to ballet on Monday evening. Skipped swimming Tuesday evening so really should go tonight.
Fingers and ankles are battling a bit. Can't quite work out if it's not taking meth for 2 weeks in August, up and down diet or just getting worse. Hope to see Rheumy in the next month.
Aidan, hope the throat is improving.

Good morning
Kerrin lovely to see you I am sorry the last of the family have left for SA you must be sad, but at least you won't be burning the candle at both ends.
Are you only on MTX? Maybe you need a little something extra?? Still not too long until you see the rheumatologist.
Maybe go swimming, but do much less than normal if you feel you must go?? :?
Morning to AIDAN!! Lovely to see you
I m so glad to hear that you are able to take at least some of your essential medication now hopefully today should be a little more. Ice cold water is good (I usually go for ice cold milk in the same way).
The Bush-babies are like lightening! Good job eh
Miss S was very sorry Pepe kept poking his light in everyone's orifices  He is allowed his stethoscope and white coat only until he behaves. He was telling her that Daddy wasn't taking all his pills.....tittle-tattle
Big Phew that B didn't catch it his throat was probably something else and coincidental.
I hope he has been able to keep an eye on Mum and Dad and been a patient nurse.
The winking/blinking we call that 'cat kisses' here and yes that is a good way to tell if a cat likes you. Have Pepe and Sleek arranged it so they will blink at Carol and Mr To then? Good plan.
Anyway Fingers crossed you feel even better today before you completely set in stone  ((()))
A quick Woo-oo! to Joan I hope your tummy is back to normal today?
Love

Just in case Aiden cant get in, he is managing to drink more but eating very little ..and has started to cough..the poor thing... :shock:has he says the strong ABs make you feel quite poorly so hopefully they will do there job soon and that will be that..... think we had better stay with the cloak...and he really appreciates everyone thinking of him and sending hugs they really are helping..Love
Barbara0 -
Thanks Barbara I suspected Aidan's anti-b's would be knocking him sick the strong ones do, but at least he is drinking and hopefully they will stop the chest getting too bad :?
Of course we all miss him and worry about him he's usually picking everyone else up!
Under the cloak and extra ((()))
I hope your GD and her GF have a lovely time in Portugal - I went once and loved it
Glad niece is ok and you enjoyed your catch up and meal.
Singing was fun last night wasn't it (did you notice I had forgotten my specs and couldn't read the words/music? You got toally into it It is really good for us physically and mentally.
I have a neighbour about to visit so had to clean even more than usual  She hasn't been inside the house yet
A quick wave to Joan
I hope all my other café friends are ok
Love
Toni xx0 -
I hope Aidan is getting plenty of sleep. I heard yesterday this winter is going to be bad for flu. I know you will all make sure you will have your flu jabs in plenty of time.
I remember when I was a soprano in the school choir. We did the Hallelujah Chorus at the Nottingham Albert Hall.
Thought you'd enjoy this strawberry ad cream cake. Hope Aidan can manage some - especially the strawberries. Hope no-one is allergic to them. :?"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

I am still new to this moderating, but I keep reading the chat in the cafe with interest and smiles. But every now and then some one brings cake and this one looks wonderful, even if I cannot eat it I can dream. Virtual can be just as nice as the real thing, can't it????
love Denise XX0 -
It can Denise and it's calorie free so you can have as much as you like!!
Hi Kath thank you for the cake it looks lovely I am absolutely NOT allergic!!
So you were soprano? I bet it was atmospheric singing there!
I sing alto I can do both, but find alto more comfortable.
Flue jab yes - on it
Love
Toni xx
PS am out tonight to a comedy show at the theatre and pizza first0 -
Yes Toni, but because of Bronchiectasis and Vasculitis I now sound cross between an angry moose and a flock of **** penguins.

Toni my head is getting bigger..must say my singing is coming on..but I do get carried away so just elbow me when I do..cleaning is essential when the neighbour hasn't been in before..even if it is spotless...makes you feel better..
Kath thanks for the delicious cake..I am certainly not allergic to strawberries ..especially on cake...our flu jab is on Monday..must not forget.. :?
I hope Joan and Sue are ok

Hello Barbara Toni Kathleen Denise and anyone else I missed
Barbara i'm pleased your bloods are behaving sorry you have the rain.
Toni Congratulations to Tia. I hope you enjoy the theatre.
Kathleen I hope you have had a good day. we cannot have the Flu injection we still don't feel right.
Denise nice to meet you this is a helpful caring forum.

Hi Everyone X
Not sure how long I will manage, but I wanted to say another big thank you for being under the cloak and for all the hugs and well wishes. We all care about each other very much and the cafe goes a bit "out of kilter" when one is not quite with us  :?
From last week end when things started with the Strepp Throat, to now, I have felt truly rotten.
If someone had said you will get tonsilitis, I would have said, ok, bit of a pain, but have had it before.
No, very different when you are older, as my Dr kept reminding me - how rude. :?
I think if there had not been some improvement last Wednesday, they would have admitted me, to give me some IV fluids.
I won't go into all the various stages of feeling so ill.
I am now drinking normally, still taking the AB's for another 5 1/2 days yet. I have started to eat, just little sandwiches, like cheese and jam, or cheese and mayo, lots of Actimel and bio yogurt to "restore" things.
I think it is the pills, but coffee does not taste like coffee, tea the same and slimline tonic has lost all its taste :? Who stole the tastes?
The puskins have all been wonderful, Miss Sleek has rallied the troops bless her. Pepe has become Dr Pepe, he is often putting a paw out, just "checking", as cats can do. Oh Miss Sleek, you did say Spid*** are little peeples, are you sure................THREE this evening, BILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I think they came in on your broomstick.
Barbara has been singing like a bird, wow that spell worked a treat, there is no stopping her now. I remember Niamh was coming over, which went with a whirl I am sure.
Kath used to sing at the Albert Hall in Nottingham. I know it well, our school had prize giving there, each year. I have a nice book, which I won for History That was back in 1975 I think
Thank you for the lovely cake, no allergies to any cakes of any sort, in here.
Carol and Mr T are going through the third degree, in readiness for the new puskin. I remember it well when I went to pick up my first two Siamese. I am sure it was about 5 hours, facing the owner and a panel of people
Kerrin, I hope you are ok, I think all your family have gone now, so you are on catch up mode and still recovering from all the celebrations. Hope the rheumy appt comes round quickly.
Denise, one of our Mods, nice to meet you, pop in any time and eat as much cake as you like too we have a really good time, leaning and helping and learning from each other. PS, can we have some Autumn emoticons, we love kicking leaves pretty please.
Toni has had a mad cleaning do, ready for neighbours who have not been in before   I know exactly where you are coming from.
What was tonight, pizza and a comedy night at the theatre, hope it was good for all
Joan and Sue have been off colour with the tummy bug. Sending hugs and wishes for it to go away. It is the time of year for all things buggly.
Yesterday was chilly, tonight it is warm and forecast up to 20 degrees. No wonder there are Spi*** running about.
I think I am about done in, sorry, but I will have to move. Last lot of pills to take.
Leaving lots of hugs back to you all. I will pop in again today as and when normality pops in for a while.
Everyone take care. XXXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Oh how lovely too see Aidan
Big BIG phew!!! I am so glad you can eat a little even if it is only small amounts.
I hope I don't get tonsillitis again then due to my advancing years
The taste malarkey is just like being pregnant It will come back and you are so wise to neck back the bio yoghurts too.
Bless Pepe he has been so worried according to Miss Sleek although better once he had his Dr's outfit because he felt he was doing something. Sorry about the poking of his light in ears etc :? but the gentle paw is adorable isn't it?
She apologises if she brought the sp****s in profusely. She didn't mean to and will collect any she can later. She has visited daily and brought Jericat last time. You were asleep.
The house was up to scratch (for me!) in time for the neighbour and the comedy show and pizza (under 600 calories!) were great.
Even better still home by 10
Hi Joan yes wait a week or so for you flu jab but don't forget it! Tia got a first class degrees did I tell you? (bragging now  )
Barbara the bungalow was tidy and clean, but the sun was out?!!! You know what I mean
She hadn't ever been in the house even with the previous neighbours :?
Your singing is fine you drown out our soprano who kind of wails at times :?
Oh Kath what a shame you can't sing now Grrrr that is not good because it's so good for us mentally
I hope you still sing at home?
Right better get myself dressed - shocking!! I don't like to disturb Paul at weekends he works so hard.
Love to everyone
Toni xx0 -
Morning all..It feels really chilly unless its me..
Aiden good to have you back with us, but just post when you really feel like it..these things take it our of you..its horrible when you cant taste the food or coffee..but you will appreciate them even more when it comes back..the bio yogurt will work wonders ..good to have all the good bugs fighting the horrible ones..now carry on improving..(())
Joan I am sorry you and Sue still dont feel right..like Aiden has said when we get older these things take there time to go..and hit us hard..hears some gentle hugs for both of you (()) hope you feel better very soon
Toni pizza and a comedy show sounds good.. and you are right to brag about Tia..sorry I missed this in your other post many congratulations to her..hope she uses it well.. yes I know what you mean when the sun shines.. I close my eyes.. right back to singing practice no holding ne back now..hope you dont regret it.. :?
And I missed that kath used to sing ..wow..she could give me lessons..
Have a good day everyone xxxxxxxLove
