Morning all..feels nice and breezy at the moment...off to Niamh today for her party and bouncy castle..I wont be there long just to see her cut the cake..then will leave her and all the cousins to it..
Aiden you ate welcome to the hugs..there is always something that can start us off when it comes to family..especially mums.. I will go and have a look at your mum picture..
Glad you had a potter day..but it was so humid..quite scary what is going on with the weather around the world.. I can only just cope here..well not really... I remember the stripey coloured platforms very well.. not at all good falling down the stairs in them  never mind its alwasy something to talk about has my late mum would say
Yes choose and book at our other surgery was instant..so not sure if it has changed everywhere...
So B has had a clear out...it such a nice feeling ..I need to declutter..we used to go the auctions so you can imagine.. thankyou for the lovely breakfast by the pool..bliss... I might just wear my bikini.. then again it might put you all off breakfast..
Joan not sure when my appointment will be..but thankyou..I bet you and Sue are enjoying this sun..I can just see the little doggies fast asleep after there walk..
Right better go have to wrap a swing..thank goodness its in a box..Love

Browned Butter Pumpkin Cake with Salted Caramel Sauce yummy. Thank you Aidan. Think I might have a face plant with that. Do you think B would come round and declutter ours?
Joan, Poundstretchers always piles the goods up so much, there's never enough room for customers!
Aidan, can you remember an escalator in one of the walks leading from Parliament Street? It was switched off on Sundays and we had to walk down it. My then best friend couldn't be bothered so slid down the middle of it and ripped her knickers on something. Bad girl. She did no more than take them off and put them on back to front - not realising the hole would be at the back, and everyone could see it when she bent down.
Any way, for T help yourselves to passion fruit pineapple and mint muffins. Maybe someone haas some cream to have with them? t4591 t4591"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon to all - it is nice and breezy, but we have the AC on, just to take out the humidity, plus I have some sheets in the dryer  Airer is already full and drying out back. Glad we are not in southern europe, they have a red weather warning. Well into the 40's - possibly 50 degrees. Dangerous weather.
Big fuss and clean by B, in the lounge, sorting out chair covers etc, which are now in the wash. Lots of vacuuming. Then the antique little coffee table we have between the two armchairs fell in half   so that has been mended. B picked it up and the bottom half stayed put
The cabinet in the hall is apparently going to the charity shop asap :? , fine, I don't mind, it is something we bought, it is not a sentimental item. I will need extra space for all the Buddhas though You can never have too many of them.
Next door came round for a natter and to pay for all the jewellery she has bought, ready for her holidays.
Dad came round, bang on 11, for coffee and croissants, stopped a little while, then when he knew there was football on for the rest of the day, he was off mind you, he will nod off and miss most of the matches.
Hi Joan hi Sue, you can pop into the new poundstretcher when it is less busy, opening week end will always be chaotic. Maybe next week.
Dad was not too bad today, he was watching the ladies golf from Lytham (love Lytham, very gentile).
Hi Barbara, hope you are managing to keep cool in the breeze. It is not as clammy as yesterday, Friday was horrid.
Happy Birthday to Niamh, I hope she enjoys her present, sure she will. So, a bouncy castle to play on, best not go on there, it will set your ears and balance all to pot.
Wise just to stop for the opening of presents and then leave all the children to their playing.
We do all need hugs, there are always some available in the cafe and on the forum t4591
The weather is just having a major glitch this summer, with snow caps melting in Norway and Sweden, glaciers melting, the hottest summer they have had there.
They have wildfires in Portugal, and crazy temperatures. Some people have sadly died already
So you liked the auctions and we likes the antique and collectible places, so we have had mountains of "stuff" over the years, most of it has long gone, just could not be doing with it all.
I wonder if Toni had breakfast by the pool, it is certainly hot enough, hopefully not crazy hot. I think they are heading home tomorrow, following the hot weather northwards. Poor Carol will be melting too.
If you want to wear your bikini, then go ahead I will put my all in one victorian style bathing suit on it holds things in place and stops everything moving in different directions
Yes Kath, of course he would come round and de clutter. Neither of us can stand things filling up window sills and the like, feels like it is coming in on you. Out it all goes.
Enjoy the face plant, the booth is all clean and ready.
I cannot do with shops that are packed, I won't go in.
I do remember the escalator that was off on Sundays, yes, wow, that is going back a long time.
So your friend sipped her bloomers and then turned them round, oh my
I remember all the steps that went up towards the lace market and St Mary's Church. That was the Church that we went to for school service days. It was like climbing a mountain up from Broadmarsh.
Those muffins look AMAZING, so I might have to gather a couple and just face plant on them. Thank you kindly.
We have cream, always have clotted cream at the ready
Well it is coming up to pill time, so I will away, put some more drying out too.
Hi to everyone else, Toni, Carol, Elizabeth, Kerrin, Christine, Mig, Toady, DD, SW and all
Mother Tosca is resting after her Pilchards, she will be on the phone to Sleek later no doubt.

Aiden I was thinking of getting on the bouncy castle but then they cam round with cake..you are right my ears wouldn't have know with way up I should be.. gosh there were 8 children..all very good but noisy..must say they had a good time..
Glad dad made it to yours..and back for football..even if he does fall asleep.. how odd we have just been talking about having a couple of nights in Lythem but its so busy with the school being off so will wait..I do love it there..and OHs posh side of the family live in Lythem ..a bit more upmarket then Lythem st annes they say no I would live in St Annes .. I love the pier
Yes we used to do the antiques fairs has well..so lots of clutter..we loved the Newark one I think you once said dad was a minister there..is minister the right word my brain has gone again :? so your table came apart..and you are getting rid of a unit to the charity shop..we always take things to the hospice shop that we have in town
Clotted cream thankyou I will go and look what Kath has left to go with it
Kath your poor friend oh the things we do when young...I will have a pineapple muffin..bet they are nice and moist..thankyou..

Evening all.
Busy couple of days and too hot to rush around. So things have been undertaken slowly. So this is a quick update will catch up with what has been going on on here tomorrow. Didn't have to meet my friend for coffee yesterday after lunch with Mr T as she is away cat sitting for a friend. we both went to knitting on Wednesday which was a good but very hot afternoon. yesterday after our shopping was delivered the day just seemed to disappear where it went I have no idea. At the moment I just want to get to the end of this month as hopefully our kitchen re decorating will be finished it has been a mess for the last 4/5 weeks as Mr T has been doing parts of it bit by bit. he has finished the bits he is doing now just need the tiler to put the tiles up and grandson to do wallpaper. I shall just be happy when it is finished. and everything is back where it should be and not in other rooms in the house. most of it our bedroom.
Rubie countdown is now 14 days.
time to potter and wobble for a bit then I think I can hear my bed calling me weather has been H.. Ho. Hot. and plenty of m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150

Hi to all, still warm, but not quite as bad as it was on Friday night.
I am glad you enjoyed Niamh's party Barbara, lots of excited children up and down on the bouncy castle. Did Niamh like her new swing?
I am sure she will do, once it is all set up and the excitement of the party is over.
I bet you were exhausted, very happy to hear you avoided the bouncy castle.
So Lytham was on your mind too, how lovely is that Either Lytham or St annes I don't mind, maybe the latter, I like the area around the boating lake and the walkway around it, that looks right out to sea. There are some lovely houses on that seafront road. I dare not look at the prices, until we have won the Lottery
Yes, Dad was the Vicar in Newark, at Christ Church. It is on a crescent and the school was only 100 yards away, which I thought was great. We were not there very long really, moving to Gotham, just outside Nottingham, in 1971, where he became the Rector of four Parishes and stayed their until he retired.
Minister, Vicar, Pastor, Rector, Dean, Bishop, Priest, Clerk in Holy Orders (which I like best). All manner of titles.
A turfing out is always cathartic. I cannot cope with too many things around. All the treasured items are in the corner cabinet, or in the ottoman, which Tosca sleeps on, guardian of the galaxy she it :animal_busy:
The Birthday cake is fabulous, I bet the faces of the children all lit up, just lovely, all the colours of the t115006 t115006
Hi Carol, I thought it had been hot and you are quite right, far too hot to rush about. It would only lead to increased wobbling
I remember you and your friend were at the knitting group, melting quietly. Then you lost most of Friday - it will be in the shed, waiting for winter time.
You will certainly feel better when the kitchen is finished and all the things are back where they belong. Having the place in upset is not good for ones Yin and Yang t115006 t115006 that it is all done asap.
14 day countdown for Rubie, do you think we will get to 14 days? I am guessing not. :?
Hopefully things will cool off a bit next week, down to more "normal" temperatures. With some rain, I know, shock
Toni will be setting off homeward bound, not sure if it is a very early start for them, a long drive though..........I remember it well.
Hopefully no queues at the Eurotunnel, then safely back home. t4591
Sleek was shrieking to Tosca that Mummy was coming home, that set Tosca off, so it was a real raucous noise
A day or two to recover, best leave some magic squares dotted about, ready for their home coming. t115006 t115006
I hope everyone else is ok, Kerrin, Christine, Elizabeth, Mig, toady, DD, SW and all who pop in the cafe.
A quiet evening here, golf is on in the background, we can save the tennis from Washington, for today. An at home day again.
B is busy with all manner of tools and beads and wires and things   With the odd naughty word :? :? I just make drinks and potter

Afternoon to all, gosh I am melting, after being outside, watering the garden, the sun was beating down. In a total lather, but will cool eventually.
Toni will be well on her way home now, hopefully arriving back, late this evening, if all goes to plan. Anti ouch squares are scattered all over. Just in case t115006 t115006
Hi Joan and Sue. Yes, Dad was ok at the Optician, he has to have one of the new lenses lasered, as it has gone a bit cloudy. They said it is quite common, after cataract surgery. His GP will refer him to the private hospital not far from us, they use them, to take the pressure off the main hospitals.
Best avoid the new shop until the excitement dies down a bit. Then you can peruse at leisure.
Oh dear Kath, you are having a bad day, let me find some magic sparkles

Evening all
It has been a very hot day and more to come tomorrow. Was at church this morning then home to dinner decided on a roast today followed up by trifle. But only had to do the potatoes and veg and slice and warm the meat when got home as I cooked it yesterday. and of course put the topping on the trifle as that was made yesterday too. I have spent the rest of the after noon either nodding off in the armchair or just the odd potter to keep the joints moving. I will say most of it was nodding off. with the fan full on. Tomorrow is Mr T's Birthday so we will be going out for a meal on Tuesday evening (as we cannot go tomorrow) to celebrate
Aidan now 13 full days left on Rubie-Leigh count down I too think maybe we will not get to 14 days unless she is the awkward one but we will see think maybe GD is partly hoping it will be soon but partly hoping to wait to then end of this week as my daughter, Sil, and, younger GD are on holiday and have taken Lillie-Rose with them. oooer I have gone all formal and used the girls full first names :? don't do that very often in fact Lillie is most often called Lillz by the family we haven't found a pet name for Graycie-Mai :? yet as GD does not want her called Grace. Yes hating my kitchen at the moment but it is slowly coming together Grandson is due to come down around the 20th and it wont take him long to paper walls where there is no tiles with lining paper then it will be painted and it will all be finished. we will have a massive supply of hours, days, weeks even in the shed when winter comes around.
Toni Welcome home hope you have all had a good Holiday. left sent a few magic squares along with a couple of bush babies to sooth any ouchies.
Joan I most certainly will be glad when my kitchen is finished it seems to have taken ages.
Kath that picture is cute of Miss Pond
Barbara Kitchen job has gone on a bit this time but it should all be done soon. yes tomorrow the sun and heat gets still hotter we are due for highest of 31 tomorrow. come winter we will all be complaining it is cold and freezing Never satisfied are we.

I see you found the cream pie
Have a rest now, ouchies will be lurking, so magic squares and baby possums are there, to help
Hi Barbara, you have had a busy day, with Niamh, playing with the children from next door. They all sound to get on really well, which is lovely.
That cake was wonderful.
It hasn't even been overly hot, but I have melted all day long, even with the AC on. I am sick of being in a lather. I cannot wait until it starts to cool off this week. Toni was coming back at the right time, it was nearly 40 degrees there on Saturday   and the poor folks in southern spain and portugal. :? :?
The toll roads are really good in France, well kept, not a huge amount of traffic, perfect for easy travelling, with lots of rest stops along the way.
I don't blame you for having a sit down day, we have all been drained with the months of hot weather.
How many times did we move. Retford, I was born there. Then Mansfield, then Newark, then Gotham. The Rectory at Gotham was huge, with acres of land to play in. Then Mum and Dad retired to a Church bungalow in Skipton and rented that for 25 years.
They were offered a place in Lytham, kind of sheltered apartments, but Mother was not for moving. They loved Skipton so much.
I like a back door too
Hi Carol, you are having some real high temperatures again, I hope they go very soon, it does become wearing. Sending cooling sparkles t115006 t115006
Nice to have a quiet afternoon, nodding and pottering, then nodding again.
Happy Birthday Mr T t69044 t69044 Hope you have a lovely day
So Rubie will be down to 12 days and counting. I can see your GD point of wanting to wait. But, Rubie will decide I guess. Difficult for a pet name for Gracie mai, if GD does not want Grace :?
Hopefully your kitchen will be done by the end of this month, with everything back in place, (much to your relief I am sure).
The shed is getting bigger by the day, come winter it will be the size of an aircraft hangar
Need a little potter, won't be long.
I hope everyone else is ok, Kerrin will be enjoying family time in S Africa, I imagine it is hot there too.

Thank you for Mr T's birthday greeting. yes finding a pet name other than Grace for Graycie is difficult. Of course the washer is on Toni, things to do, immaculisations to be done, amidst a million purrs from Miss Sleek.
Tosca has had a word and said "calm yourself dear" whilst shrieking at the same time   Almost ear splitting this morning
She wanted to make sure you were staying put, hence she kept an eye on you, until she warmed up too much.
Shopping list, definitely, milk, cheese, eggs, kitchen roll, BLEACH,

Hi Joan and Sue, it turned out to be brunch at the GC today, Dad said what do you fancy, so we all had bacon and or sausage and egg butties and I had to have a scone, rude not to :? :?
We didn't need any plants, we have more than enough already.
We don't do too bad, for shops in Clitheroe, it is quite a touristy place, more than people think, so there are a lot of independent shops, plus lots of charity shops and loads of coffee shops.

Hi Barbara, it was quite pleasant this morning, thinking oooh, a nice cooler day. Well, that was then and now it is humid as can be and about the same as yesterday. I think the forecasts are a load of tosh. We get what we get and it is nearly always hotter than they say.
We want to be cool, have rain and stop being so wilted. The rivers are still drying up to nothing. I read that the hosepipe ban has been abandoned, apparently the recent rainfall has helped   did we have that much rain? Did I miss something :?

Evening all
Another hot day here. Mr T took Himself off for the day to Central London to a Christian bookshop to get himself a particular bible to replace the old one of the same that the pastor of another church gave away silly man. This being his birthday present from me (which he asked for when asked what he wanted) so I Gave him the money for it. he seems to have had a good day as he did some visiting the sites whilst in Central London and had his lunch in a favourite place of his the Festival Hall.
I also treated myself to one of the chillomax pads that you put in your pillow case to keep your head cool when in bed will let you know if it works.
Dentist was ok as it was only a check today to see what needs doing but no treatment. a few things to be done with the first treatment being done at the end of September gonna cost a lot of money but I have paid it all up in advance so will most certainly be going to all the appointments 4 in all.
Aidan Mr T says thank you for the greeting on FB
Hope you enjoy the GC today. lovely breakfast on the terrace this morning thanks. the hours may need a new storage place now but they will soon disappear in the winter when it is cooler.
Fingers crossed for the Kitchen to be finished soon.
I'm sure Rubie is just waiting for the right moment to make her entrance into the world. Maybe she is waiting for her Nanny and big sister to come home from holiday. yes a pet Name for Graycie is hard to think of.
Only a check up a dentist today treatment starts in September lots of money spent on it though and there is only one badly broken one that will need to come out the others that need treatment are one that can be saved even the other broken one, as I also have quite a few teeth missing I am going to have partial dentures to replace those as well thought I might as well have it all done. well why not.
Kath my GD Kayleigh was named after the Marillion song Kayleigh. Rubies pet name has already been sorted by her mum she is to be Rubes I believe if she still keeps to that.
Barbara Its only my Sunday meals that are organised because of going to church in the morning, but not the rest of the week believe me.
Mr T's birthday was today so your greeting was not late.
Yes GD is struggling in this heat, but this week she only has little Graycie because Lillie is away on holiday with her Nanny and grandad and auntie. so a bit of respite there for GD
Now 11 full days on countdown and counting.

Hi to all, another very warm and very humid evening here. It is going to cool off. If I keep telling myself often enough, I will believe it
Hi Carol Mr T is very welcome to his Birthday wishes. It sounds as though he has had a great day, getting his new Bible, visiting some of the sites of inner London and then lunch at the Festival Hall. At least you knew what he wanted for his Birthday
I hope the chillow works, they do get very good reviews. I need a body sized one at the moment.
So the treatment starts in earnest in September at the Dentist. If it is paid for up front, then definitely keep all appointments with maybe a free check up a the next interval - maybe not, business is business I guess, freebies are not handed out readily. You will have a big grin when it is all done
Rubie is still not making an appearance. Your GD will be finding it tough going in this heat. As you say, with some of the family away, there is a bit of respite for her this week.
We will use the hours when it comes to autumn and winter, there are hundreds spare.
Now then Toni, what do I see, your village has WON the best village competition, well way to go, credit to everyone, including yourself, who has worked hard, to make it so beautiful t115006 t115006
50 year award and trophy and you had to go up to collect the prize, what an honour
I bet everyone was so thrilled. Rightly so. t69044
So Sleek has claimed the chillow, well, seeing as she owns everything else...........  There has been shrieking from the bedroom, Sleek letting Tosca know about the peeples of her village being given a big cup for making it so gorgeous.
Rev Delphine will be thrilled, Pom too..........et al.
You will need an extra rest, after all the travelling and then all the excitement. Some magical squares are hidden all about t115006
A quiet evening here, had a siesta and was wide awake throughout, so that was useful   Eased the bones though.
B is busy with his seed beads and pearls. I am pottering and wobbling. Was watching the tennis from Toronto, but there are storms for the rest of the day - typical. Can we have some of the rain please :?
At home today, no great plans.
Hi to Barbara, Christine, Kerrin, Elizabeth, Mig, DD, SW and all
