I guess the tin cans and string are not working but as usual I thought I would have a quick peek in and have been here too long already.

Hope the poorly sheep is a bit better and you have one less thing to worry about Cris. Leaving some hugs and cuppas and we have rather a abundance of strawberry bonbons at work at the moment if anyone fancies any? No competition for the CDM I know but the offer is there.

Hi Cris,

sorry you have been tripping over the frozen mud rutts. Falling hurts even more when you are cold.

Sorry the sale was so boring and such a waste of time. Was minus 6 here today - freezing fog that didn't lift all day and the snow sludge is now frozen solid.

5 am starts sound awful - we wake at 6 35 and get up 10 mins later and that is vile .. so 5 am!! :roll:

Hope those animals aren't hogging all the treats!!

Just heard from Cris .... she is heading out to the sheep in a bit.

Cris is feeling :x :x :x right now as vets have not come out.
She has to phone them in a bit, and well there will be fireworks if they will not come out :shock: so I may yet need these emoticons x:evil x:evil

fingers crossed she will get some injections sorted at the very least.

I will tell her you're all asking

sorry to hear that you have the lurgy - it's not much fun is it?

hope you feel better soon.

Sadly the vets have not been yet, so I think Cris was giving up and going home where she will attempt to get warm :roll: as you can imagine, she is not very warm at the moment, and slightly miffed too (I know, I understated it, but you know what I mean )

last I heard was that cris did get a call back from the vets eventually, the sheep is a little better today, so they will see her later this week, and they think that she (the sheep not Cris!) probably has mild hypothermia :shock: :shock: even with wearing a coat :roll:

so can you all get knitting as fast as you can ..... Hope needs more than leg warmers and a hat .... an all-over sheepy suit (romper suit style) would be perfect ..... and there are the others to think of too ........ so best we send Cris with a tape measure tomorrow

Cris was off out to the supermarket then ....... so I guess she may do some armchairing before she tries out dongling

Hi All,

Its working! For now.... the pc can't cope the dongle is useless and tomorrow I will get in the real one and get that switch out cus the lack of memory isn't helping....

I got some bruising from the sheep door, one ruptured chilblains looking inflamed, the wrists are refusing to carry, the colds infected ye again, the back is garbage, the neck has done the palisation thing without me falling asleep first, I think I might have cracked my knee and got so cold today I know how the sheep feels!

Odd eh? Hypothermia in a sheep... vet was telling me that he has seen 4 in deep hyperthermia today alone and a horse that's got a really bad cut from the ice where its so frozen and so sharp.... meant I couldn't get angry he hadn't been either out or rung.... He also kept telling me I know what I am dong... yes but i am not a vet!

she does seem brighter though for longer and was eating better tonight so....

Jabbed her, got pushed around by her ladyship who seemed to be counting bikies again..... and mugged by the bull who wanted the hay..... (he will be up for lunch this week end I, hope you don;'t mind!)

Your right its cold and the lanes well they are rinked now as well as the A30 in places...... I guess they got it wrong wens eh? It fell west not in its normal places but down home they have had a fair whack and normally its here not there.... I really hope your lad isn't working too hard and the dump at the top of N road is almost empty but they don't do the lanes out side of the Eden road.... I wish they would..... could you ask him if he comes this way to accidentally dump a load?!

the bull is gong up for dinner so that should cure that..... he really is intimidation again tonight.... they have eaten their bale and I can't carry the sheeps one so had to take it in sections over... he got 2 packs out of me and seemed to think as that had worked he would try and get some more... he didn't but they are also desperately cold and miserable so feeling a bit guilty to send him to I's for lunch.... will still send him though! xx

good morning although to you this must seem like lunch time 8.20 am with your 5am starts. 6.30 is bad enough.

Well you sound truly battered and bruised, not only aminals pushing you around but the buildings too.

Hope the sheep is feeling better poor thing, I am knitting one and dropping one so it may be rather holey (good for this time of year i suppose holy)

Hope that bull is behaving too and not shoving his weight around. (don't think i would want to argue with him)

Take care today, expect you got slippery conditions again, we have.

Ye gods woman, how do you do it? I am languishing with an unidentified lurgy and yet there you are, battling against all the odds and, as usual, winning (even if it doesn't feel like it). OK, you may not be a vet but surely you have experience and knowledge - you just lack the drugs! Use some of yours on 'em, see if they help! I am going back to bed. Well I will expect bully for Sunday Lunch then. Will make sure we have all the trimmings. Is he allowed to stay for the full 28 days? x:))

So the next birthday party on the 15th then. Will be there with the custard creams and extra large multi coloured blankets. They should go nicely with Iris’s knitted leg warmers. (does Iris know that she is sharing them)?

Oh Cris your poor feet and everything else too. I hope the weather improves for you. Not much I can say or do but I am sending some extra special hugs and a bucket of stamina.

I'm busy knitting another pair of legwarmers with an Argyll pattern this time which will look quite snazzy on the birthday girl along with the coloured blankets.

Oh cris, i wish there was something we could do to help
try to find some time to rest & i hope you are keeping warm inside.
ive woke with the lurgy too plus a stye (They seem to like me as i have them every few weeks) I tried to have a duvet day but had to get up to get meds or i would have run out.

I hope sheepy is getting better & haz.well what can i say (knitted booties on the way)

OK so where is this thaw they say is meant to be here?! minus all day and tonight been the sheep's via Truro (oh Louise at last something half decent on the roundabout!) You know the coldest place? here! Why does that surprise me but by 4 degrees... come on that's just not fair... and the car struggled and slid up the hill.... life... not sure its so good just now........

Flower I do three 5am starts a week.... that's enough the rest of the time I am getting some dodgy... tis too cold out of bed and though I got this new habit of cooking my self all night (hell do I as well!) its better than out in the bitterness that is this place if the stove forgets to keep in....

sadly his shell will remain behind..... for now and then I feel guilty cus his end will not be pleasant and 2 of them I have got very fond of and their end will be as bad....

He got his ears cuffed again tonight and well he is pushing it... but then he will he's rising 2 and is a bull..... I so wish he wasn't but he isn't as big as the others just he does have bigger horns.....

Do you want him for the whole 28 days.... DONE!!!! he is yours! I am so sick of being threatened..... Its getting hard cus of the ground and i gt it into my head if I go over he will have me.... mind the ground is as bad for them to walk on as it is me.... just I only got 2 legs and they don't work so well... they have 4 and are not lame!

SO he will bring his own turnips and I think one of the sheep is making some yorkshire puddings... she got the recipe from little legs s they should be ok?!

Spent ages tonight trying to bandage her legs... she is cold, no if's no but' she is cold and her legs are freezing... I got to ring the vet in the morning but just dn;t know what he can do here... check her over maybe! Something i amiss and she is cold...

We couldn't survive what you have up there... I know I couldn't flower so well done for battling through it cus i know its been bad there.
