Hi all,
Big thankyou to Cris for passing on my news, I was sooo happy to get home but just so tired.
After being wired up and monitored for low oxygen sats and finally diagnosed with interstitial pneumonitis (???!!) given morphine and told to rest  as I've not slept as lying on my side (I roll onto it subconsciously in my sleep) as it wakes me up in agony, I then at 10pm asked could they please give me something to help me sleep....I then get a lovely young doctor telling me I really need to get my pain under control, then I could get some sleep :green ... Hubby wisely informed the doc that I had not had more than 3 hours sleep straight since last Tuesday and that the pain, ribs, and being in a noisy hospital ward were not conducive to restful sleep.
I was given temazepam which I'm pleased to say worked.
My Rheumy saw me lunchtime, upped my steroids again to 50 and gave me some temazepam to use at home for a week so that I'm not waking up with the intense sharp pain in the ribs.
Oh dear, I'm so sorry to bother you guys with this, feels good to get it out though. Back again friday for another chest xray and also get my wrist cast taken off. thanks for all your help I'm very grateful xxx'grá agus solas'

Hi Poppy,
Glad to hear you are feeling more comfortable today. I hope you have reasonable night tonight.
Thank goodness they gave you something to help you sleep. You need that more than anything to combat everything.
Oh it will be great to get rid of the plaster cast at last. Fingers crossed your x-ray shows improvement and they can lower your tablets again.
Adding a few more hugs to the bucket.
Lv, I x0 -
Hi Poppy,
i agree with i, sleep flowwer you have to get as much as you can so your body can heal its self and you be better again.
Fingers crossed that it all goes well and you will be pleased to see the back of that cast as well though you will still be glitter girl
You rest and then rest some more and cus the hug bucket is a bit full I have found a special bottomless one for you. Be well soon. ((((( ))))) and a ton of hopes. xx0 -

Poppy, nice to hear how you are doing. Sleep is so important to help us heal. And if your steroids are up to 50mg, you will need something to help you sleep!! Hope the meds work and you get plenty of rest.
I bet you will be relieved to have your cast off!!
Take care0 -
Hi poppy

Bother? Poppyg1rl, I think those meds are addling your brain. This is not bother, it's keeping us informed. Please keep on 'bothering' us. It's what we're here for.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I too am glad you are home, I hope you are able to rest better for that but that high dosage of steroids is bothering me. I hope you won't be on that dose for too long, Poppy, they ain't good for one. Take care, rest and get better please. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi all,
Lovely to hear from you DD, I hope you are enjoying your break.
Thanks Iris, Julie,Toni,Suzigirl, sticky and huge apologies for anyone I've left out, my brain is certainly muddled :???:
My lovely consultant rang me today, to see how I was, I'm so pathetic at the moment I just blubbed... I've slept, the breathing is a little easier although still can't inhale/exhale without sharp pain. Think she was more than a bit concerned, my hubby is here so she's told him I'm to go back if the pain/breathing gets worse. Feel all over the place at the moment, can't get comfortable at all. I'm on 50mg steroids till Friday when I see her again so will see if it gets dropped but at the moment it seems they are the only thing sorting they lung out. 400mg tramadol, co dydramol and celebrex is taking the edge off, but just dulling as DD says, not painkilling.
Oh, vented again, thanks for being there everyone, I'm in a bit of a mess with this.
Hugs xxx'grá agus solas'

You are not venting, silly girl, you are telling us what is happening and it's no wonder you are feeling so weepy etc - who the hell wouldn't be? You have had a dreadful few weeks what with one thing and another - sparkly plasters are fun, yes, but so NOT a good thing - factor in the apprehension of beginning the humira and now this: ye gods woman, even a saint would be struggling.
Rest, sleep, rest and sleep some more. Just concentrate on getting better and please stop apologising to us. We are bothered and we care, OK? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
hope you have a better night tonight x0

Hi Poppy
Tell it like it is love and know we are listening. Hope you have a reasonable night. Leaving some more hugs and get well wishes. ((( )))

Just dropping in to say "morning" Poppy and hope that the Temezepam did give you at least some sleep.
Thinking of you.
Love and ((()))s,
Tilly xxx0 -
Hi Tilly, Chris, Suzigirl and DD,
Thanks again for your lovely messages of support, I am overwhelmed by all the kindness and care that you have shown me.
Unfortunately the steroid increase has made sleep a bit erratic, even with the temazepam, I just kept waking up on the hour, every hour.
Afraid to phone anyone though (Rheumy or GP) as i DON'T want to go back into hospital.
I've a splitting headache too, not sure what to do with myself.
Hope everyone has a good day, and thanks again for the support my friends. Hugs xxx'grá agus solas'

I think you need to rest, possibly in a shady room, keep well-hydrated and try not to fret about stuff. Give your poor body time to recover, I can understand that you don't want to go back into hospital but if things don't improve within a few hours then yes, contact your GP or perhaps the hospital direct and see what the advice is. Your mighty whack of steroids won't help you to relax, I know, but I do hope they are helping the rest of it! Take care. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi there, Poppyg1rl,
Hope you're feeling a bit better by now.
The headache might be due to the steroids. When I was on a big dose prior to chemo I had a massive headache, my eyes felt like they were on stalks and as for sleep....well, who needed sleep? Not me.
Even so, don't just put up with the headache for too long. Take advice. (Proper advice, not just from us.)
All the best.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
Evening Poppy
I do hope that the headache has eased now.
So sorry about the lack of sleep. Anything above 20mg pred has me climbing the walls so I can only imagine how things are for you on 50mg. Sorry too that the Temazepam hasn't helped. I think I'm right that it is tomorrow you go back to the hospital - really good luck Poppy, will be thinking of you and hoping that they can find a way to help you through this.
Lots love and ((()))s,
Tilly xxx0 -
Hi Poppy
