    Hi Poppy

I can't advise at all on any of this, :???: but I do recognise someone having a really rough time for a while, so you do have my very real sympathy.
Just leaving a few more hugs and hoping things feel better soon. (((( ))))

I would like to advise you of my sources but fear I cannot. The knowledge was aquired during one of my less sedate evenings spent in a pub. And yes, the memory makes even me blush. I can say that the Finnish for cotton wool is (this is phonetic, not yer actual Finnish) 'poom-pully'. Ain't that cute?

Right Poppy, I have finished (ha-ha!) hijacking your thread. Good morning, I hope you had a better night and that things are steadily (if only slowly) improving. I hope the reduction goes OK and doesn't make you feel too rough. I am thinking of you. DD

    Hi DD,
Big thankyous so everyone else who sent me such lovely supportive messages and advice, I'm very grateful.
Knee still huge, very little sleep but gone down to 15 pred today as planned. Please keep me in your thoughts as I've SO much to do today that cannot be put off and my way of getting through it is to just grit my teeth and not think too much about it.
Hope you all have a lovely painfree day Hugs xxx

Hm. Not sure I approve of your planned day, Poppyg1rl but, having been in that situation & done exactly the same myself, I'm hardly the right person to tell you not to.

Please take things as easy as possible. It's not giving in to give up occasionally.

Be with you in spirit. Take care.

Don't - repeat DON'T - be a silly girl. You have been to hell and are very nearly back, don't go and borrox things up by trying to do too much. You are not strong enough, not fit enough and I shall now shut up. DD

Hi DD, Cris, Julie and Sticky,
Had to hobble about today (on my boring grey crutches, which when I'm feeling better I will spray paint with purple/pink glitter, that's the plan anyway) to have blood test done and more importantly go to my eldests leavers assembly at his school. It was lovely, very moving but unfortunately very painful. And ofcourse the world and his wife wanted to know the ins and outs of whats wrong with me...all very uncomfortable and insensitive for my poor lad, so I told them I didn't want to discuss it. I thought that was far more diplomatic than my hubby's response which I wont mention
I'm to stay at 15mg steroids, my consultant wants a lung function test done Friday and if the knee hasn't gone down by Tuesday an aspiration.
Feel bit punch drunk actually, so much has happened with arfur but life still goes on, although does feel like I'm treading water  I'm getting there.
Thanks for your lovely messages everyone, I'm so grateful I'm not on my own with this Xxx hugs to all ((()))

15mgs sounds like a plan, the lung function tests are a good idea, as is the aspiration (been there, done that, you know what that entails and it will help) and let's hope that you will start to feel much, much better soon. I hope you have a decent night's rest tonight and take things easy tomorrow. You are a poorly girl at the mo - don't you forget that, you need some TLC from those around you (which I am sure they are providing.) DD

Morning Poppy, I am glad to hear that your knee is feeling better - lovely things, oral steroids, yes? No? Yup, I agree with no, it is such a fake 'better'. I hope you are feeling brighter in yourself and that the boy is OK. DD
