Legs, you should have been certified long ago. That's why we love you.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

There's usually a bit of a delay. I didn't take too much notice, just did as I was told! First was lung function and breathing and TB checks, then final approval that the anti-tnf would be paid for and then a letter with an appointment with a nurse to go through the do's and don'ts in the comfort of your home. There was quite a wait between each stage.

Hi E,
I've had chest x-ray, was inoculated against TB when I was a teenager and bloods which are all okay.
Last Friday was the approval meeting after my Rheumy referred me for the treatment. Within the next two weeks I'll get a phone call from the delivery company and then the nurse will come to train me in self injection.
So it's only just over 4 weeks since I was first recommended for the treatment, which, I think, is pretty good.
Hope you're ok today.

Luv,
You are thankfully further on than I thought. 4 weeks is very fast, mine was at least 3 months.
The nurse was great and offered to visit to do any further injections if I wanted.
I'm a bit chesty and hoping it is the weather otherwise it is the asthma!

(Hope your chest has cleared up Elizabeth.)
I had a phone call on Friday and the 1st delivery of Etanercept is being delivered on Wednesday morning then a nurse will ring me within 2 working days to arrange coming and showing me how to self-inject.
It's all happening now. I don't know whether to be scared or excited  :roll:Love, Legs x

Hello legs, I am sorry for the silence but I was away last week and have come back to household chaos and a general 'bleugh' feeling. Grrrr.
I wish you the very best with the enbrel, it's a doddle to do and let's hope it does the trick, yes? My fingers are crossed (which makes typing flaming tricky!) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi Linda,
Good news that things are moving a pace for you and fingers crossed the nurse will be calling to see you Friday/Monday??
I hope she can reassure you and boost your confidence back up. All well and good agreeing to it but as the day draws nearer you are bound to feel a bit wobbly.
I will be thinking of you,
Lv, I x0 -
I chose adalimumab (Humira) because I preferred a jab every 2 weeks in preference to weekly. They advise you to take it on the same day each week/fortnight but I'm not that organised!
Linda my chest is bad, it seems to be the price you pay for the above but rather that than the awful pain.
Good luck with it Linda, I so hope it helps. You can twitter away on LWA and I shall follow your updates.

URGENT ADVISE NEEDED NOW!!!
I'm expecting the delivery tomorrow as stated.
My dilemma is:-
My bowels aren't sorted and have had emergency referral to hospital sent yesterday.
Yesterday I was laid up in bed with headache and vomiting dark green bile and I couldn't even keep a sip of water down till 10:00 pm.
Had a phone consultation with doc this morning and am much better.
Would you accept the delivery on the chance that I may be considered not well enough to take it and all that money will be wasted or do I just go for it take it in and see what the nurse says when she comes???????????
I really don't want to miss this chance if I can help it.
What would you do?
PS Your chest is a prize s@d isn't it 'E'
PPS Hello SheilaD, I don't think we've talked before
PPPS Hi to all the old faithfuls who are always thereLove, Legs x

Hi Linda,
Still in the wars, bless you..
I would take the delivery and then see what nurse says when she comes..There is no harm with taking the delivery as that is all you are doing, nurse will decide whats best when she comes and maybe even come a bit later so you can feel better, you could always ring and ask luvie, see what she says..
You will get there my dear,, we are all here to help you..
xxxxx(((((X)))))xxxxxxxTracyxx0 -
Hi legs
I am sorry that you still are having a rough time.
I agree with tracy, I would accept the delivery and let the nurse decide tomorrow whether you are fit enough.
I have my fingers crossed for you
Love & Hugs (((((((((()))))) juliepf x0 -
Accept it so you can store it for the time that you are better. In my experience it's best not to mess up these kinds of arrangements, let the delivery happen as is meant, then when they contact you to arrange the next delivery that can be organised based on how many injections you have left. Healthcare at Home deal with my H and they always ask, when they ring to confirm a delivery, how much I have left. Dates can then be adjusted if necessary. Good luck and I hope you feel much better soon. Can you ring the nurse and have a chat with her? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
