Hello Linda,
It was a perfect way to say goodbye to your Dad. He would have been so proud of you and the rest of your family-you followed his wishes.
He's at peace now with your Mum. Take care Linda and I'm still thinking of you,

Hi Linda,
I am happy for you that the day went well and with a mixture of tears and laughter. It did make me smile when the pool table appeared from under the table cloth and the darts boards appeared too. I can imagine your mum and dad smiling at that.
Sending more hugs ((((((())))))) and just saying I am still thinking of you

Dear Linda
You have been and are in my thoughts. If I remember rightly you have your Anti-TNF Assessment at the hospital today. I do hope that goes well for you.
Be kind to yourself, dear Linda, you have been through a tremenduous amount of trauma, shock and upset in the past few months.
Love

Well, what can none say? It sounds as though it was the perfect mix of grief and laughter - and as for the pool table - well, how utterly wonderful! It sounds like a fitting tribute to your dad, Linda, and that is just how it should have been. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

You can never quite believe they've gone can you? So keep those lovely memories alive.
There was a lot of smiles and laughter at my Mums funeral and thus I have lovely memories associated with saying goodbye to hold on to. I think you need that.
Good luck today at your appointment -well remembered Elna- and hope you will get some much needed rest in the days ahead. Hope the Fireworks party is lovely too.

Lo everyone,
My Dad did miss my Mum he often used to say 'I wish your mother would come back and haunt me!' :!:
As Elizabeth says 'well remembered Elna' as it was my anti-TNF assessment today.
I've passed! YAY! You had to score at least 3.5 and scored 5.9.
There were some tears but I am, understandably, emotional at the moment.
The nurse did a thorough examination of my hands, elbows and knees to test for inflammation and tenderness. My problem is that because I've had RA for 25 years it's classed as 'burnt out' meaning that when I have a flare I don't get hot and swollen joints I 'just' get the pain. The damage was done many years ago. I had to convince the nurse that what limited mobility I have in my joints is so precious and each flare, mini or major, takes away some movement. This was when I got upset.
Mr Legs was with me as RA affects both our lives and had his own set of questions.
I've come away knowing this is a chance I'm happy to take, even with the side effects and fingers crossed it'll work for me as it has for many of you.
I just have to wait for a phone call and a letter now.

Congratulations on passing your 'anti-tnf exam', Legs.
You've got me worried now. If you're 'burnt out' after 25 years of it, what am I after 50? Clapped out I guess. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I don't go along with the 'burnt out' bit Sticky as I still have pain and can tell when I'm starting a flare. It isn't just mechanical pain I have.
After all if an engine is burnt out or, as in your case clapped out - surely it doesn't work at all :???:
Are you on anti-tnf????

Hi Linda,
I am glad the ‘service’ went well and your goodbyes where said properly. It is good to laugh and remember as well as cry. To say it has been a stressful few weeks for you is an understatement but I am glad you kept your appointment and you have been accepted for the tnf treatment.
Rest up as much as you can this week and hopefully you will be contacted soon.
Hugs,

Luv,
I'll second that, though it does help a lot when they substitute some of the worst offenders of the joints.
Never done anti-tnfs. I've always been lucky in that, once a thing works for me, it tends to work for years and years - gold, penicillamine and now meth & hydroxy. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I'm glad they didn't consider you as a lost cause Linda.
The relief I got from anti-tnf's was fantastic. I just can't find the words to describe the difference. I was like a dying flower that badly needed a drink and the anti- tnf was the water that enabled me to straighten up and bloom again.

Hi Linda
sorry I didn't realize or remember that you were going to the anti tnf clinic. I am pleased to read though that you are able to start them soon. I hope that it helps in a big way.
Hope you are not waiting long for your appointment
Take care

I am glad that you have passed the test, legs, and I sincerely hope you end up in tkachev's gang rather than mine. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks everyone for your replies
Elizabeth I love your analogy of a wilting flower though I think myself more a rusting rheumatoid robot in need of oil   Please, please may I be in your gang?
It reminds me of netball at school when we were all standing in line waiting to be picked, we all wanted to be on the winning team.

I hope your in my gang too. Of course you are still left with the damaged joints, nothing but surgery will repair them but the inflammation and all over soreness is greatly reduced.
