Sorry to read that you have been in hospital again, Suzygirl. I hope you are back on the mend now?

I continue to be amazed at myself! I will never take feeling good for granted - honest.

Thanks for the honest review of Binocular Vision, Toni. I won't be putting that one on my list!

Hi all, sorry to have been absent. Had a septic abscess which turned into a systemic infection and I ended up in hospital. Feeling better now, thankfully. Done lots of reading, and have lots to catch up on here.

Hi Marianne, nice to welcome another reader! I find it helps take your mind off things, my kindle solved the pain in wrist and elbows problem. :D

I am behind on the BOTM sorry!! I also have the Harold Fry Pilgramage book downloaded, but haven't got round to reading it yet. Will have to look out for Perfect.

Toni, was the Binocular book good?

Frogmella, you are so active it is an inspiration, when you consider how much pain you were in at the start of the year!

Bubba, I hope you have a good holiday and apologies for not being around. I haven't been a good right hand person lately. If you want to pick someone else I understand.

Quick hello to Lindalegs and Megrose.

Don't be silly suzy we all have times when we are sick and can't be around! That's why I have 2 right hand people. Hope your on the mend and glad to see you back.(())

Diana Her True Story Revised Edition by Andrew Morton.

I read the 1st Edition when it 1st came out (Still got the book) but saw the updated edition when looking through sale books on Amazon and wanted it! Anyway back to book! The book was originally written with Diana's assistance and goes from her childhood to her divorce from Prince Charles the added section from then to her sad death is written with the help from her family, friends and former staff. It's an interesting book to hear what Diana really thought with an emotionally ending. I admit I welled up at the end as I really liked Diana and she was cruelly taken when she had found happiness in her life. A good read if you where a fan of Diana Princess of Wales.

    Rating:-****

I had a real soft spot for Diana Amanda....I was a few years younger than her but close enough to relate to the huge change in her life when she married into the royal family so I am sure I would enjoy it.

Suzygirl - precisely - always feel a bit cheated don't you? Sorry you weren't looked after properly. Next time ring me and I will come and sort 'em out!

    Love

Hi Marrianne, don't worry being behind on Books Of The Month there is no rules saying you must read them at that time or at all if you don't like that type of book. I still have 2 Books Of The Month on my Kindle to read, I'm hoping to read them both on my holiday. So pleased to have you in 'The Book Club'.

Glad you agree Toni, so to make it officially clear Septembers Books Of the Month are a choice between The Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber and The Only Way is Up by Carole Matthews. You choose which one you would like to read. I look forward to reading the reviews. :D

The Second Life of Amy Archer by R S Pateman
Beth's daughter (Amy) disappeared on millennium eve. She has spent the 10 years since visiting psychics etc as her marriage crumbled. Then, 10 years later, a woman turns up who claims that her 10 year old daughter (Esme) is the reincarnation of Amy. The story then unfolds as Beth beeves then doesn't believe.
It was easy to read and I read it pretty quickly but it wasn't massively satisfying. I don't think I cared enough about Beth or any of the characters really. So I only award ***

I have a load of books coming into the library at the moment and have gone back to school so less time to read. Just going to have to make time!

I am reading the Midnight trilogy by Beverley Barton at the moment. I read a book of hers and wanted to see what happened to the characters so bought the trilogy to follow up. I really enjoyed the first book, kept me guessing and interested enough to download more!

However, I am on the last of the three books and although I am enjoying it, more books follow and they all seem to follow the same format, so I doubt I will read another one. Must admit they have me hooked :D

I have just started reading Darker than night by John Lutz and am really enjoying it so far :D

Marianne, a kindle helps if you have poor eyesight and pain in your wrists and hands. Just thought if you were looking for an excuse to buy one, that may help

Hi Marrianne, I decided to start 'The Book Club' as I enjoyed reading and thought their must be others who have time on their hands because of Arther and enjoy reading so it would be a good way to share good book titles and what we thought of them. And so it has grown! I even have able bodied friends now who ask me to recommend books we have been reading!

Yes you should look back right to the beginning to check out other good books we have read and recommended!
As for a Kindle I think a lot of us didn't have one in the beginning of 'The Book Club' But now have them after others recommended them for the weight of them in context to a normal book and the amount of books you can hold on them. I know I wouldn't be without mine now!! A lot of us still have normal hard back and paperback books to read!! Maybe worth putting it on your Christmas present list.

P.S OH just came back from shopping and brought a plate to me with 3 Egg Custards on it and a Carrot Cake and said 'for you dear!!' :o
