Thanks Barbara hun.

We have been to see Dad today. He looked at peace.
I don't want to see him again I don't think.
We have dressed him in his Fosters t-shirt. Bless him, he was given it by a good friend and couldn't fit into it, then after the first surgery he lost two stone.
He would be very happy, he loved his Fosters..
I miss him so much though..

His best friend emailed me the words he wants to read out at the service, it's wonderful.. They were like brothers..


I'm in more pain tonight than I have been in recently. My shoulder and neck are starting to flare up.. Not fun.

Must try to get some much needed sleep.

I truly hope that you are all well...
Assume I'm there for all pocket duties as ever.

Today we managed to sort out the flowers. Nice and simple white flowers with yellow roses. And white roses to put into the grave.

Took my younger brother and his wife to see Dad.. Also met my Aunty and cousins there.

There was another bloody hiccup... This time with the cemetery, we could not have the time we had arranged, was really peed off as we had let quite a few people know...

I really must try to sleep. I've had some diazepam as well as the rest. Knees are swollen and very painful...

Having a pretty tough time right now. Had a very bad day yesterday, both physically and emotionally.. Even worse today.
Saw Dad again yesterday but that will be my final visit.
The notification is in the newspaper today, makes it hit harder...

Joints are flaring really bad.
I saw the doctor yesterday, she has chased my rheumy appointment up so I'm going on the 3rd september, pocket duties would be lovely.
I have a prescription for some prednosilone or whatever they're called. I'm desperate for something to help me get through the next few weeks...

Sorry I've not been around.
It's our 25th Wedding anniversary today but neither of us want to celebrate. We are putting that on hold. Had a hotel booked etc.. It's only money.

did you contact the hotel and explaine things they will often let you change the date with no lost money worth a call or email

thanks again folks. Sorry it's been a couple of days. To be honest I didn't even bother trying with the hotel...
We will do something nice together later on. We have had twenty five years of a very happy marriage, I'm sure there will be a Hell of a lot more..
We went to the club that we all used to frequent wednesday. It's where we are going after the funeral.. Funnily enough it was twenty five years and a day since we were there for our post Wedding knees up (i use the term loosely, my knees haven't been upward for more years than I can remember)
It was a bitter sweet afternoon... We were all part of a club back then and raised a lot of money for the guide dogs. Mum & Dad were on the committee. We are having a collection box for them at the funeral.
We have all moved away from the area in the past few yrs so it had been a while since we were there..

I've been taking prednesilone (sp?) for a couple of days now, the GP got in touch with the rheumy to check.. My elbows stopped hurting the first day Other bits are calming down but I'll admit that I'm still overdoing things :oops:
My hands are still bad with the partial carpal tunnel, dunno how you can have partial but there us go... Both palms feel like I've had the ruler across them several times. I was a bugger at school so remember that very well..
Knees are no longer swollen but the OA just refuses to behave..

I'm still not eating or sleeping too well but there ya go.
Today is the last day that we will be able to see Dad. I've not actually been in the room to see him for a couple of days now but Mum and Janet have been each day.
We have to return to Skeggy in the morning, then back to Leeds sunday afternoon.

I just wanted to say I am still thinking of you and I am pleased that you have some pred to take you through the next few days.

I am sure that you and janet will think of something to celebrate your wedding anniversary in a few weeks time when the pain of the past few weeks and funeral has eased. As you say, you have plenty of time to celebrate.

I will be ready for pocket duty on the 3rd
