Pleased to hear you have a not-so-bad itinerary for the week :) and that today was a fairly swift 'in&out' for you, hope it all goes well, and a brilliant result there by the fundraisers, all praise to them & their efforts.

Hello again from a somewhat jetlagged SW :? I hope you two manage a good weekend or at least what passes for a good weekend these days. I have been thinking of you very much.

Good Morning everyone and again a HUGE thank you for continuing to support us.

It has been an odd week. Busier than expected. Still fighting the bloods and still all the 'penics' as last week (cytarabine does that which she has had for a few weeks  ). Lucy has needed platelets 3 times this week and two pints of blood.

DD all the 'terms' mean she is very susceptible to infection having Zero to fight anything with so we must be v careful what we do and who we see.

Stickywicket - good to see you back I hope the jetlag eases very soon - if not already :)

Christine a quiet weekend planned although I expect to see the boy'friend' tomorrow ;)

Barbara Thank you we got the hugs and at least are due a nice weekend with no hospital visits

Joan Thank you for continuing to support us I hope you have a lovely weekend too :)

Toady The weekend is HERE :) and got off to a great start with the collection yesterday afternoon of Lucy's 'real hair' wig, which is lovely!!

Christine Yes all has been well, just very busy. Two birthdays on the unit too this week.

Marie The fundraisers did amazingly and apparently the bar hasn't done so well for years!!! We were happy enough with the prices of drinks there - excellent ;)

Mike - thank you for thinking of us yes the 'do' was fabulous and so well-supported. Shows how lovely Midlanders are ;)

Been busy too...Lucy managed a LOT of schoolwork with the two teachers there Science and English. I am really very proud of her

Love to you all and thanks

Wow - you have had a busy week. How good of her to get on with all that school work too - I should tell some of my lazy bunch about her next time they moan about having "so much to do".
Sending more positive thoughts and lots of love to you all. ((())) xxxx

Sounds as though things are as good as they can be. Well done Lucy for getting through the school work. It must be so tempting not to do it. Have a great weekend.

    Thanks you all.

I don't know whether I told you, but last weekend I think it was, on Saturday night, (might have been the week before), someone broke into my car and made a mess? Worst of all they took our hospital 'Grab bag' and ripped it open chucking our emergency stuff all at the end of the road  Undies and all

Well I reported it really just incase they could let neighbourhood watch know for other people.

Yesterday morning the police rang and the culprit had been caught, (I think doing another car  ), charged, put before the magistrates yesterday first thing and got 8 months suspended. The police had told him of our circumstances and he had showed remorse, so that's something.

I am quite pleased really. Oh and our new bag arrived too yesterday so I can transfer our stuff to the new bag from the temporary one :D

Toady - Lucy is a trouper - I always knew she was, but not to this extent....the wig, (Cassandra) has had straight and curly hair so far :)

Joan thanks you for thinking of us so far we're having a lovely weekend and now the sun is out too :)

    Christine
    - things are WAY better. Only one dose of chemo, (as far as I know), this week, although we have to keep the other levels up so bet we're in at least 4 days ::)

    Barbara
    - I think the chemo zaps the blood so the platelets can get damaged as well. Good thing is they keep a very close eye on the kids.

Frogmella - yes Do tell your lot when they can't be bothered. In fact the consultant has written a letter to the school for the exam board, which was soooo lovely about her fortitude at even .......attempting to sit her GCSEs this summer and that these are truly special circumstances....made me well-up

DD - I hope all is well with you this week. My thanks as ever

    love to everyone

Oh, that is shocking Toni. These people just don't think about how much damage they are actually causing. It's all about themselves. No-one else matters. Let's hope the lad has learned his lesson. And I hope you weren't too shaken up. That's one of the good things about a wig, you can style it yourself and see exactly what you're doing with it. How wonderful that Lucy got such a great letter from her consultant. No wonder you are so proud of her. She is such an inspiration. You too, having to cope with this as well as your arthritis.

    Hi Toni
That's all you needed on top of everything
Its bad enough having your car broken into but at this time and to take your grab bag etc
    Glad he was caught.
    Love to you and Lucy
    You are both troopers

Excellent news about the car thief, not just that he was caught but did actually show remorse. Maybe a little jolt that actually these are real people whose lives you have messed with, not just property, will make a difference to the perpetrator. I hope so.

Meanwhile Lucy continues to show what a star she is. A real trooper. I blame the parents
