Thank you all so much for keeping us in your thoughts while I haven't been able to post!! and of course to DD for keeping you all in the loop
Hospital was the right place for Lucy last weekend....they hydrated her with sodium whatsit and glucose too. She had two 6 hour bags overnight and didn't get up once for the loo so she must have been dehydrated.
There were chemo-friends in too which was nice, but sadly we 'lost' another lad on Monday. Not someone we knew well, but I had got close to his family.
Now she is home though her eating and drinking is improving by the day. She is also drinking 'build-ups' which is essential as she is really thin. She now weighs 47kg (up from 46.5 when she was in), but before this all started she was 57kg.
Exams may not reflect her ability, but at least she is trying eh?
Thanks you mig, villier, Joan Dachs, Barbara, toady, Elizabeth, Christine, Bubbadog, Numpty and Tony, Colin Frogmella and Stickywicket.
I know you are all fighting your own battles and are still finding time to send us your best
Thank you (((())))

Great to hear from you Toni. It's good to hear that Lucy has put back on a little weight. Not good that another friend was lost. Hope you and Lucy can still keep your chins up at such sad times. As for the exams, Lucy can only do her best for now. She can make things up if she needs to, later when she is more up to it. Love to you all.Christine0

So sorry to hear of the lad on the ward. Life is cruel, must be tough when you have got close to the family, it all goes without saying.. hope you're ok, can think of nothing more comforting but sending support.
What's an exam in the scheme of things.
Glad the weight is creeping back on. You're doing brilliantly with build-ups etc they will all help. xx0 -
Hope the build ups do their job. I think just the fact that she is sitting her exams is enough. Whatever results she gets will be better than most people would get in the same circumstances, I'm sure. She is so brave.
Sending you big hugs and hoping this is a better week. No exams at least in half term so a week off from them. ((()))0 -
Hello Toni and Lucy
i'm pleased Lucy has put some weight on. try and have a good week
i hope it goes well for you both.

Just popped on here inbetween cooking the dinner. I forgot to put the chips in for the kids (adults are having sausage, potato, chorizo concoction). kids love junk food but I hate it!
so on the subject of food I see Lucy is already having build ups. sorry I mentioned them in the cafe post. They are very good, a bit rich but manageable. You know its doing you good when you drink them if you know what I mean.
she had a tough weekend poor girl. obviously you too having to watch her go through it all. so sorry yet another young patient has died.
Take care and hope the rest of the family are okay xNever be bullied into silence.

Alas, no hugs for either of you today Believe me, you wouldn't want them But I have been thinking about you both a great deal and I send much love, which is guaranteed germ-freeIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
