No need for apologies Toni you know we are all here for you every step of the way, I really don't know how you are coping having to watch Lucy enduring her treatment and all that goes with it. I am keeping fingers crossed that Lucy has a sick free weekend and is able to gather some strength for her exams, what a wee trouper she is. You know the ropes have a good old vent on here if it helps, get it all off your chest, we all care so much and are here to listen and hopefully give some words of comfort. Take care Toni I hope you have a good weekend....................Marie (((()))) xxSmile a while and while you smile

day is full of Smiles0 -
you don't have to be cheery Toni, definately not for our sakes. I think it is good for you to come on here and offload at times.
I'm not sure how she can face exams and just hope she can concentrate enough to get good marks. Its a lot to ask of someone going through such gruelling treatment.
hope she gets some much needed strength over the weekend.

Thanks for coming in & bringing things up to date though the nasty effects are not welcome news, so hope they pass
Very best for next week and the planned exams.. every week is a step nearer the maintenance stage the other girl has got to.. as for cheery, I'm surprised you can remember the meaning of the word so just calling in is a credit to you. Sending some cheery thoughts fwiw.0 -
That's good to hear that Lucy got to the pamper session. It would haave done you some good, Toni, to chat with the other mums. Sorry to hear that Lucy was sick again but hopefully it will ease off for the weekend. I wish her well in her exams. I'm sure I heard that they make allowances for students who are ill when they take exams.Christine0

Hi All
Well Lucy asked if we could all go out for Italian last night so we did....
She did great, but on the way back filled two bowls with most of what she had eaten.
She still had a good time though and has promised today to eat little and often.
Christine Yes I think the pamper session did do her good The goody bag is really fabulous. I am now saving my printer cartridges for that charity.
I think just attempting her exams is enough isn't it? If she passes any I will be very proud.
Toady you are right each day gets us closer to maintenance which sounds tolerable compared to this.
Thanks for the good wishes and the cheery thoughts
Joan I am really very worried you are right and find it bets just to 'get on with it'.
A friend thinks I am worried if I do cry I might not stop. She might have a point!!
I hope your weekend is good too
Elizabeth Thank you I agree it's a lot to ask her to take exams, just bad timing really, but she wants to try.
I've offloaded and she's slept a lot and had some laughs. The sickness is persisting though grrr!!!!
Marie I don't know how we are coping, but think it's really because we haven't got a choice.
Immediate family are supportive, but we don't have much extended family. In some respects that's good because they can need support too dealing with it  Thanks you for reminding me that you all care. I know that's true because I care about you all too
Barbara Thank you for your love and best wishes I have used the hugs already
I will put the exam good luck into Lucy's pocket
Hopefully the sickness will ease soon.
Love to you all

I am sorry to read that Lucy is struggling with so much sickness. It must be awful for both of you. This place is where you can offload so don't even think of trying to stay chipper for us. I can't even imagine what it is like for you. ((()))
I hope she can concentrate on her exams next week. I will be thinking of you both.0 -

Hey Toni, I'm glad Lucy enjoyed the pamper day even though she has been so poorly because of the chemo and that she enjoyed her Italian even though it didn't stay down for long, I'm sure it's the normality of both these things that's helps. Please wish her good luck with her exams. I'm sure you will be a nervous mom keeping fingers crossed for her and having to wait for her grades. You know we will all be keeping our fingers doubled crossed for Lucy. Hope you have been alright and that your health has been behaving it's self. Sending you all big (())'s.0

Hello Lucy and Toni, I'm sorry I haven't been posting recently but things have been rough here.
I am utterly amazed that she will be doing her exams despite everything that has happened since January. What a trouper she is - and she's learned that from her mum. Who cares about results? It's the fact that she's fighting so hard for normality which is breath-taking. I am humbled. ((( ))) xxx DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Hi Toni,
Sorry I've been away from the forum for ages, but I have often thought about you all, especially Lucy. She is having such a difficult time, but the fact that she is taking her exams shows how brave and determined she is. I wish her all the luck in the world as she certainly deserves it. Many people in her situation wouldn't contemplate doing exams, but Lucy is a very courageous young lady.

Still utterly amazed by the pair of you. ((()))If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I've heard from Frog - Lucy went into school for a short while yesterday! She was very tired afterwards but she had the chance to see her friends again and taste a little of normal life - now how good was that? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks DD normality must seem so good to Lucy at the min...hope that today is a goodish one for both Lucy and Toni..(((()))) xxLove

Blimey. What an amazing girl. When many teenagers would love not to sit exams there is Lucy, wanting to do them. I understand why she wants to but the bravery she is showing is astounding. I'm in awe of her strength and tenacity. She is like a lion with an amazing roar! Go Lucy you superdooper star.
Hope your next Italian stays down xxHey little fighter, things will get brighter0 -
That is good news. It must have been lovely for Lucy to see her friends in school today.Christine0

Hello my lovelies, I hope today proceeds as well as it can, I am thinking of you both very much. ((( ))) xxx DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I'm glad she has managed her exams so far and got to see her friends. Luckily there are some days without exams but of course revision takes up a lot of spare time.
Have read the dreadful news about Stephen Sutton. I'm sure it has caused a lot of heartbreak among the families in Lucy's ward as you are all so close.
Take care and take heart

A brief update: Lucy has had a tough day, especially with sickness, so has elected to stay in hospital tonight so she can have more fluids and anti-emetics via her IV. Frog will stay with her. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Bless her,it must have been hard for her to make the decision to stay in hospital..it just goes to show what a brave girl she is, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you both..some healing hugs for you both..(((())) xxLove
