Hello folks
Hileena I am pretty sure you have a birthday soon too????? Rings a bell
Done nothing but rain here all day
Lucy is still eating well - it's lovey to see
DD - not a problem at all!!! I don't much bother with mine, but this year the kids seemed to want to celebrate it. Maybe, like me, it feels like things are on the up for them too??
Joan thank you we did have a good bank holiday - sunshine Hope you all did too.
I hope you had a good bank holiday Christine?
Barbara - Lucy is eating VERY well including a whip made of chocolate spread, cream cheese, icing sugar and whipping cream. Dunked strawberries in it YUM
Let's hope this rain goes away soon eh?
Intrathecal Friday and hopefully hickman line removal too
Love

((())) to both of you

Wishing you the very best for Friday!! Sorry I missed your birthday (I became confused what with the talk of royal babies & assumed it must have gone already), glad to hear you had a good day, and especially that Lucy had her fair share of birthday tea things! Must have made the world of difference to proceedings.
A slightly surreal row of cupcakes for you, Lucy & Charley xx

Yesterday was AMAZING!!!
Lucy was so brave - not a peep out of her
The hypnotism has clearly worked for her.
Two photos for you
One of Lucy edited slightly (for modesty's sake) and one of the infamous Doctor Tim with the offending line
and
From now on the remaining chemo ( about 16 months I think) will be done via a cannula.
Also not a peep for Intrathecal
how brave is she?!
I had to sit down and felt a bit iffy!!! Don't tell her
Love

Whoo-hoo! Well done Lucy. She is indeed brave. Hello to Dr Tim. he looks like a lovely person. Hope you fell ok now that's done, Toni. xxChristine0

Morning Joan, Barbara, Hileena, mig and Christine
Dr Tim is as lovely as his smile of course.
We met him within days of arriving at the QE and he has always done the nasty stuff; intrathecal lumbar punctures and bone marrow aspirations.
No-one else could have taken that out!!
When the other doctors do rotations Tim stays put
Last August when I thought she wasn't going to make it (when the hickman line went in in the end under GA), Tim was away on his holidays it made it worse. Not that everyone else isn't brilliant because they are, but Tim understands Lucy.
She had a fair bit of pain overnight and yesterday morning so had a few codeine and some prune juice to be safe
Today the sun is shining on us - I hope for you all too
Love

How wonderful to get someone who understands Lucy so well. It must make the world of difference. Hope Lucy feels better today than she did yesterday. Enjoy the sun. xxChristine0

Lucy never fails to amaze me with her courage and stamina. I'm glad she has Dr Tim. I know it helps to have a doc you can trust implicitly but she's something very special with or without him.
How's Mum doing? If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Three cheers for Dr Tim! We all know that it helps to have a doctor who gives that little extra because he (or she) cares, it does make the unimaginable that little bit easier to bear. I suspect he has one of the hardest jobs in the world - it takes a special sort of person to do what he does.
I hope you have all enjoyed the weekend and that Lucy is gaining both strength and weight. ((( ))) xxx DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hello Toni and Lucy
I hope everything is going well and I hope Lucy as less pain.
its good Lucy as Dr Tim she trusts him and so she is relaxed when she is with him. (((((((((Toni and Lucy))))))))

Thank you Joan the pain has really eased off She didn't take any pain-killers at all yesterday, but then again she took none when she had 4 teeth out for her brace going back!
DD - I hadn't thought how hard Dr Tim's job must e....:( Poor Tim Still he is someone you would want in your corner while dealing with this awful disease.
Lucy is still eating well so gaining weight. Close to the magical 50kg (7.87 stone)
Stickywicket thank you for asking I am fine though I did not enjoy that gruesome procedure...nor do I like the intrathecals or bone marrows
She is special that's why Dr Tim cares about her so much
Yes Christine it is wonderful to have someone around who 'gets' Lucy yes. In her time there there was only ever one nasty person. Luckily she has move depts., but I still intend to make a formal complaint about her when this is all over :x .
Busy week ahead.
Solicitor tomorrow, then hairdresser, then dentist then stitch removal
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Toni how lovely that you have so much faith in Dr Tim..and what a lovey dedicated man he sounds to be, they deserves to be knighted ...glad to see Lucy's pain has subsided...she is one brave young lady...good luck tomorrow hope all goes well...xxLove

Make sure you say the right things to the right people.I'm reminded of the story of the woman who handed a list in to the butcher, to be picked up later, then went on to confession. When she arrived in the confessional and fished out her bit of paper it read: 1lb stewing steak, pork pie, 1lb pork sausages. She could only reflect bitterly on the list of sins she had handed over to the butcherIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
