Well, for what it's worth I reckon you are doing pretty well. I think it best to keep the wound covered because the last thing you want is an infection, yes? I think physio is pretty limited in what it can achieve but it is valuable if the exercises are done properly and regularly, which I am sure you are doing. I'm hoping to go out tomorrow if Mr DD allows! DD

    Hi
The weather hasn't been bad here {North East} compared to the South.
Lots of wind and rain although today has been quite nice.
I'm very lucky .....we have The Metro Centre 15 mins away from us so Peter will drop me off there and at least I'm inside but out and about at shops and meeting people etc.
The holiday is just a 5 day self catering {Peter loves cooking so that's OK} It's in Butlins {before it opens properly} Its a 60's 70's music week.......lots of things during the day but when we have been before we have gone out and about and come back for a meal in the evening and then on to the various entertainment.
Peter decided I needed something to look forward to.

I'm glad it's all going well. Definitely best to keep a dressing on for now. Keep plugging away :D

Ooooh, a future treat! That is something to look forward to and will hopefully keep your spirits up. I went to get the post and was grumbled at by 'im indoors - how the hoo-hah does he think the post has gotten in during the week? He's very tired so we're having a quiet day in. Deep, deep joy. DD

    Hi Barbara
That's where we are going. Before it opens as "Butlins" for the year it usually has some good weeks holidays.
    It'll be a break.
No the wound isn't behaving is it????
At least she says its not infected so another dressing on until Fri

Friday is only a few days away so hopefully the wound will be healing better by then. At least it's not infected. Sounds as if it will be a lovely break for you to look forward to.

Hopefully Friday will finish all this.....my first THR the staples all came out in a fortnight, dressing off and not another one on
This one....completely different.....staples came out in 2 different lots and it has been dressed and re dressed
I am looking forward to the break even if it is only a couple of weeks after the 6 week restrictions. :D
I'll not have to worry about , sleeping on my back or the "not bending" etc although I will still use my scooter a bit more than I normally would. At least I think I will.....see how I feel then

Every op is different, I had two open synovectomies on the same knee eighteen months or so apart and they were completely different experiences despite being done by the same surgeon. :) It's a nuisance that things are not healing too well but hopefully it will sort itself out sooner rather than later. It's good they are monitoring it - I'm used to stuff not healing but in my case that's thanks to the immuno-suppressing meds. DD

I shouldn't compare the 2 ops but I do and the other one was years ago.....not sure if my memory is correct about it or if I remember the better bits of it
    What better bits?

Glad you are on the mend Hileena. I have been following your posts as I had a THR just over 2 weeks ago, so I guess I am a week behind you in the recovery process. I'm doing ok too and feel like I'm improving a little each day.

    Best wishes
