Post a Reason to be Cheerful thread

My reason is that we got the news yesterday that our darling old lab BJ, who's had an horrendous operation on bust cruciate ligamnets .... is ON THE MEND ... the operation was a success and we've now got to rest him for 4 more weeks or so.
The alternative, had the op not worked .... does not bear thinking about.
Also, the broccoli, cauliflower and broad bean seeds I put in the greenhouse last weekend are sprouting.
We'll gloss over what the cats have decorated my carrot trench with though :shock:0 -
Oh Fayrose am I glad to read that I wanted to ask you but didn't like to........ I lost my two but I am so pleased to know BJ is getting better. Long may he go on for you. Cats..... well if ever one of mine learns t talk do I have some questions ((( ))) Cris who really is so pleased to see he is on the mend x0

Postie delivered a pretty card from my daughter today, especially for me, amongst the usual junk mail.

We have acquired a new family member though, Alfie-Blue, a re-homed cocker spaniel, almost 7.
So, its still me and husband, BJ, Alfie and the 3 cats. Thanks so much for your kind words about BJ. xx
Are you going to get another dog?0 -
Hi Fayrose,
Like you my spaniel was old, almost 17 actually.... My lab, bless her, was oldish but ha a very bad life prior to her rescue...... It was a horrible 2 weeks cus I lost my eldest sheep as well...... A mate has some spaniel crosses and they re so lovely.... bit expensive for me BUT I am quietly looking for another springer....... I'd love a pup but the insane dog would make it very hard (if not impossible ) to train one....... All the bad habits he could teach I will though when I bum into the right one
BJ has picked a hell of an age for cruciate trouble but the ops are normally very successful and I hope he soon recovers to his normal. Do you mind letting us know how he is doing?
Right I have to get finished so..... a ((( ))) and long may you have your lad and your post made my day Cris x0 -
Just because for the last few days I have had the windows open that means the horrible snow and freezing weather has gone
The plants has sprouted up another 2 inches as well.0 -
I have a large container which has mini daffs, deep purple crocus and red heather in it. It looks so beautiful I have to keep going and looking at it!

Our Khoi fish are still there, larger as well. A bird has made a nest in the bird box, there are eggs in.
The sun is shining, it is a nice day, the sky is clear.0 -
what a lovely day. Hope everyone is feeling good today. x
spent a couple hours in garden, hubby dug up old rose and put new one in (climbing), then put some carrot seeds in (first time at trying carrots for us :? ) Repotted 2 house plants, and generally just admiring all the minature daffs and blue hyacinths coming out. We have swarm of ladybirds in front garden  isnt it a tad early for ladybirds?????
Hubbys Birthday, AND we both won a tenner on thunderball, perfect day.0 -

That's great news Joan.....made me happy just to read it
please say to your friend I hope she soon gets her strength back. Iris x0 -
Thank you Iris. My friend was very happy because her son came from America, and her daughter came from Belgium to see her. She doesn't see them very often because they are abroad, so it was lovely that they both came to see their mother because she was in hospital.0

I've had such a good day, too.......weather glorious, new carpets chosen and ordered, new places explored...had a lovely walk.
Very tired now in spite of a nap this afternoon. Hoping for a better night, but not really worried if it doesn't happen.

What a great day so far, pottering about, been back to bed had a shower and better put some clothes on now and greet the day. I do not feel at all guilty as yesterday I was on the go most of the day which is another thing to be cheerful about

Hi Elna
Even when I am not feeling particularly cheerful, I have only got to read your posts on this thread, and you lift my spirits. Thank you for being so positive.
