I'm happy today because I have been able to have the windows opened.

I have been laying on my bed with the windows open.

The birds are singing and it has been a beautiful day and warm. The washing is all dry.

I can here the children playing and laughing for the first this year.

Happy day........sunshine and showers all day, think April has arrived early!

Washing dry in spite of the showers, I have daffies, hyacinths, crocus, heathers, tulips and narcissi all flowering now. Oh, also a couple of anemones, bright red ones, too.

Windows open most of the day........lovely time of the year! Tra la!

My grand-daughter has written a poem. She emailed it to me, and this is it. It made me smile.

    The Dog

    dog! dog! running fast
in a race you're never last
    fluffy furry playful and wild
how could you ever hurt a child ?
    swimming like a rubber duck
do you really want to look
in the water you get wet
    what a very smelly pet
gobbling all your food in one
in a flash it has all gone
    slabber dripping down his cheek
making him look like a freek
When at night we go to bed
He lays down his weary head
Twitching and barking in his sleep
dreaming about chasing flocks of sheep

The sun is starting to shine through the clouds, i'm just off to the shower then do a bit of food shopping with hubby. Come home and do some ironing then probably bed since i been up all night due to coming off night shift and takes a while to get sleep pattern back to normal.

Yay :D:D it is Saturday and my grand daughter will be here at 9.00 until around 5.30 so gran and grandad are in charge! Wonder what exciting things we shall do today ..... I know, without a doubt, the box of buttons will be asked for!! :D We will go for a walk this morning to tire her out for her nap after her lunch. Gran can rest too then if need be :)

I hope all have a good Saturday.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Today's reason to be cheerful is that I slept reasonably well last night, have helped my neighbour out, had a lovely cheese baguette for lunch and look forward to a roast dinner when I get off the pc and organise the tatties, butternut squash and veg. :D:D

Hi Iris...how lovely, when you find old pictures you have forgotten about, my oh was clearing our loft a few months ago, when he found a box with some in.
They brought back so many memories :)

Got out our wedding photographs to show the children and
grandchildren yesterday. Reason? our golden wedding.
Then took the entire mob out to dinner and it cost me an arm
    and a leg.

I found an old photo of my nanna and grandad and one of my aunts......taken in the early 50's at a guess....it's the only one I have ever seen of them.
