    Hi iris

Pink flamingo does sound rather graceful so I will go by that name but to be more truthful I think I am more like rod hulls emu

Will tell hubby tonight he has a fan club . He will laugh when I tell him you call him maurice. And that he is a hair dresser. He will wonder what I say to you lot.

    Take care PF xx

    Hi Iris

I'm starting to worry about you on escalators now!! I know you'll take care though..

Yep - still drinking every hour and going to the loo - think I have caught it in time... I am convinced that 2 very severe UTIs I had in Oct and Nov 2008 had something to do with me developing RA in Dec 2008!!

I want to be at my 'best' for tomorrow afternoon when I see the Occup Health doctor as I really want him to agree to me going back to work next week..

    Hi Cris

Hope you are coping OK. What have you done with the summer??

The dogs normally cost me £65 for bath and grooming.. however, when they go in the kennels (which they did when I had my THR) the kennels wash them for free!! I struggle to do them myself at the best of times - they really don't like my hair dryer and I end up wet and hot and bothered..

    Hi Iris

    It just gets better.... :D

Pink Flamingo eh?? Damsel - the nick-names are getting better
    :D
Husband called Maur-eece - he wont let you near us again!!!

Hi Marion Hope you're not up all night wee-ing

    Hi Cris

Julie has shoved her arthritis in a cupboard so I brought along some reinforcement so long as I can add mine too - sticking yours in as well???

Hope you all have good nights

    Love and hugs

    Toni xx

    Iris

Daisycat can say 'Mum', 'christ' (very naughty actually) and usually when it starts to rain 'Hello' (which was what you got) and 'fresh' for more food ( even when its fine) and 'moo' which has something to do with prey

Hi Iris and everyone else who has dropped in for a chat - this is a brief post as I'm feeling shattered ... all over ... hip is no worse than the rest.

Good question Iris ... swimming was one of the last physical activities I had to give up ... though I went from being able to match/keep up with S to only wishing I could well before I gave it up. By the end could only swim a little bit and really paid after - today no ill affects from yesterday!!

Looking forward to hearing about hand therapy.

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Morning all :D
still holding on to dry weather....but not for long me thinks :(

Toni...your daisy cat 'talking' had me in stitches.:lol: although I did suspect you'd been hitting the vino :!: :o:lol:
    any news on that physio?

speedy..must have been so lovely for S ...and you...to be back in the pool. wonderful to have regained that ability..even if you had to 'trade' doing full lengths to breadths. All progress speedy!
hope you managed a good night's sleep and have shaken off the tiredness?

Marion. Good Luck with Occy Health today. :!: I know how much you want to return to work so my fingers crossed for you today.
don't worry about the escalators....won't be back on them for four weeks and by then I'm sure I'll be able to gently hold on with wally!

Cris...hope you love your new hairstyle :? wally apologises for the wee bald bit where he lost control of the scissors for a mo  but says it's ok 'cause you won't see it anyway as it's at the back.
wally's also put a sticky note on your jacket 'hair done by maurice' so he's got it all covered.:lol:

Hi PF Julie.... hope the reinforcements from Toni have held now that you've got everyone's arther in that there cupboard ...
have you got a date for having that bursa op? ....I know our wonderful Trish is with you which is great ......and we'll all be in your pockets too when you go in to hossie. :D:D

Hi damsel. :D how're you feeling today? meth stabbing on top of having a flare is not good combination.
got more honey chews and some gentle ((hugs)) for you and hope you're soon back to your own bubbly self.xx

Went to see Mandy therapist yesterday. She hadn't been sent letter from ortho so phoned and spoke to the Head Phys at the Western. Advice was that we've to try to get as much movement with wally on the pronantion/ supination (palm up/ down) exercise as we can....and that the maximum for the flexion/ extension (wrist tilt) is 20-30% ...though he does not think now that I will achieve that. (wait and see says wally!!!)
Mandy did wally measurements and the palm up/down has improved since last week  but tilting is stubbornly the same at 10%
Mandy increased the tension/ resistance on the machine exercises and also was more aggressive with her 'actively' moving wally on the tilt. (not explaining this very well..sorry) She said wally is less resistant than last week and she did get him to tilt a bit more so that's really good!. Mandy's pleased with what 'we' can do at home and that everyday use is the best exercise so overall we're improving.
Only wee concern is that she noticed that the tendon in the index finger isn't quite right s the tip of the finger isn't straightening..so she's noted that for discussion with ortho but thinks it's inflammation in the tendon sheath so might settle.
So...we'll keep going with the exercises and uses at home and see what another week brings eh?.

have a good day everyone :D

    Hi Iris,

good that the palm up and down movement is improving - do you remember when Wally couldn't do that?

Just been moving my wrist to see what a 10, 20 and 30 degree tilt might look like and what degree of tilt I use most often ... interestingly whilst observing myself doing this the palm up/palm down was needed a lot more often than I realised ... and the full tilt that a "real" wrist can do is not a movement I used much in my experimentation - but a degree of tilt was helpful.

The fact that the passive movement is there is a good sign - though hard work is in order to get that same movement replicated by muscles ... if it is possible you and Wally will achieve it.

Hope that little finger tendon settles.

Hi to all your supporters - Cris, Toni, Julie et al.
