    Morning peeps

sorry for not posting. It's been a bit of a troubled time.

I had to travel to Fort William on Friday as an elderly and much loved aunt had died :( and I wanted very much to be able to attend her funeral and give my condolences to my cousins. :(

The 10 hrs of travel took it out of my bones....or rather arther in the bones took it out on me  so spent some of yesterday recovering.

Had bad news again yesterday; my son R's close friend died in a car accident in Dubai  ....so R travelled up to Dundee last night to be with his family and friends there.

Thanks Cris for updating the thread.... :D don't know what I'd do without you  and thanks everyone for all your continued support.

promise to catch up properly later...

    much love to all

    Iris xxxx

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Good morning, our lovely dorcas. I hope you were able to have some decent rest over the week-end and that wally has behaved. Stress can affect things (as we all know) so be gentle with yourself, and him. DD

Thank you so much Cris, Toni, Speedy, Marion, Babycham, Julie PF, Chris, DD and bertyboy.

I really appreciate your kind thoughts and all your support.

Am having to take a bit of time out just now...

Wally is doing fine but other joints are not. Think you're right DD about the body's reaction to stress...seems to be such a fine balance between being on top of arther and going under! Have contacted rheummy to see if I can get an appointment at the day ward or at least to talk to someone there.

My son R is still in Dundee and waiting with his friend's family to find out when they will be allowed to have their son home.....how awful a time this is for them. M was only 26yrs old and had a future so full of promise.....

Take care my friends. Sorry not to be about the forum and answering others threads...but I will be thinking about you all.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Hello Iris, May I first say that I am so sorry about your Aunt. I lost mine early this year and I hope that you like me have sweet memories of the times you spent together.
Your son will be devastated by his friends death and I am glad he is with his family at this time as I know it will mean so much to them.

Iris, you are right to rest and I hope you managed to contact the Rheummy for an appointment.

    You are in my thoughts.
    Love, Ix

    Hello Iris

Take care of yourself. Hope they can do something about your joints at the hospital. Glad that at least Wally is OK.

Will be thinking about you and your son and his friend's family over the next week - it must be terrible for the family.

Sorry I've not been around but the family were here and my pc is playing up all the time now.
So sorry to hear about your loss Iris. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare journey for you. Trust Arthur to misbehave when you're already coping with so much. I hope you can get an appointment and back on treatment soon Iris. Arthur often lulls you into a false sense of security and unfortunately does'nt take into acount what else is happening in your life.
I'm sorry to hear about the great loss your Son is coping with too. It must be especially difficult when a death happens in another country.
    Big hugs always. rita

so very sorry to hear your bad news, hope you are taking a bit of me time and relaxing as much as possible, this arther is a bugger isn't it ? it jsut never gives you a moment of rest, if its not one joint its another and the line is thin between coping and letting it drag you under , take care

thank you everyone for your very kind messages....much appreciated by me and my son R

R has come home for a couple of days but heading back to Dundee tomorrow...still no news of when his friend's funeral is likely to be which is just so hard on the family and his friends.

I missed my hand therapy appointment on Tuesday  which I have never done before...guess I'm more distracted than I thought.
so no official update on wally's movements.
I am using the hand & wrist more and more and doing the exercises faithfully but can't see much improvement in the tilting, turning over etc..but that's OK as it is so much better than it was pre op and virtually ache free now!

Knees and neck have been pretty bad this week but I got a return call from rheummy Day Ward and am starting on Infliximab next Thursday..providing I've no infections.
I have high hopes that this anti tnf will work...fingers crossed. x

I had my ATOS medical assessment today (for ESA)...was in for 1hr 10mts. No idea what the outcome will be but the assessor left no stone unturned! I did ask her what her 'day job' was and she told me she is a qualified nurse specialist in RA...so perhaps she has more of an understanding of the limitations caused by arther? ATOS have a very bad press so nothing would surprise me..

Will catch up with other posts around the forum later...just wanted to say 'hi' and let you know what's been happening. thanks again for all your support. xxx

    Iris x
