Hi cris, Im so sorry your finding things hard again & the tiredness can just hit you at any time.
Few bits from my Fibro leaflet; Fibromyaglia is a chronic condition of widespread pain & fatigue. The fatigue ranges from tiredness, to the exhaustion of a flu-like illness. It may come & go & people feel drained of all energy-as if someone has pulled the plug.
One of the symptons is unrefreshed sleep-waking feeling tired & stiff.
I also have the heavy feeling in my legs, usually first thing in the morning & just slowly moving around it does wear off.
I can also sleep well past mid day. I can go to bed at say 11pm & OH is still trying to wake me midday. I still wake up feeling like i could go back to bed but i have to fight it & all day too. I rarely sleep during the day unless im really poorly or so exhausted i just cant function. The noise here during the day makes it hard to rest or sleep & if i lay on the sofa i get the full works from the parrot so i cant win.
I hope there is something in there to help. Its managing the condition thats the hard bit & finding ways to cope. Do then rest is my coping way.
I hope the fatigue passes & you start to feel better soon hun i really do. I know how much you have to do on a daily basis & so wish there was a way that we could help you. (shame we aint got the money for the neighbouring house eh!)But then i'd be as knackered as you each day
Snowys on guard again tonight & ive told him to make you hotties & tuck you in.
NO ARMCHAIRING or snowy will get nasty & will be reporting back to me ok.
Be kind to yourself & dont beat yourself up over the tiredness, you can only do what your body will allow & sleep is your bodies way of healing itself.
Take care luv, sending tons of (((((hugs)))))A load of rest & some hope that it passes soon.

Hi Cris, sorry I've not been around much on the forum .. life is rather hectic here and I tend to drop as soon as I tuck S up in bed ...
It sounds to me like you have been really pushing your body to the limit (as DD says, you have had a really busy time -foaling, shearing, sales...) you now sound run down with a cold etc you can't shift, you had that infection in your leg ... you also have arther, Crohns and take a cocktail of meds ... Now you are slowing down a bit and catching up on sleep ... It is a bit like an extreme version of a really busy day and you are alright until you stop, at which point you collapse!! Well your body has forced you to stop and is perhaps catching up on sleep. I also think if you are not used to much sleep and then have more than you are used to it can make you even more tired ...
As Iris says jot it all down and raise it at the pain clinic.
Wow - your music sounds LOUD ... how fab though to not have any close neighbours for you to disturb/to disturb you.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi Cris,
I think you might have to have a couple of early nights as you really need to get to the pain clinic on Weds. She seems to have given the Botox some thought so it might well be a good session. Fingers crossed. You must be run down and in a rotten flare, this contrary weather will have effected you too. Sydney’s spurs plus dog bites on top everything else you have had to contend with this summer would have worn anyone down. I really think you have managed so well and now need some me time. Sorry you have had to come of the mtx as I know that was helping with crohn’s as well. Eat as much energy food as you can and then do make an appointment to see the Dr. I know you are not keen but at least everything is recorded and then can be taken into account. Those wrists and elbows of yours need some TLC . Love the bobbing by the way.
Hugs,0 -
Thank you for educating me, Cris and DD.. I had never heard of Deadmau5, so have just looked him up on t'internet..
I will now be able to 'appear' to be knowledgeable when in younger company..
(The Killers 'Human' was about the limit of my knowledge ...and that was only because I saw them on the Jonathan Ross show.. It's a shame for me, I know .. I do lead a sheltered life)

Hi Marion,
I love it but how does a dog look like a sheep Kids are magic eh and I can see how your pup could be mistaken for a fox but for the life of me... the dog that got mistaken for a sheep......
I my be anemic.... it wouldn't surprise me at all.... I will make an appointment for a blood test ( I keep forgetting!) I and when I see the nurse I will talk to her bout anemia etc.
You did so well to walk for 40 mins... your putting me to shame there! I really appreciate having few acres out the door as the dogs get so much exercise and aren't short changed when I am not so good. The chicken were short changed today  Mind they laid all their eggs in the shed for a change ((( ))) and hope work goes well today. xx
Hi Iris,
Just about fully dressed eventually Terrible isn't it?!
I will talk to the pain Doctor as she is very nice, very helpful and rally knows what she is doing. I also am going to try and get woken up by phone at 8and if it doesn't work the plan is I go see a doc..... though I would like to see the nice one
Thanks for the loons and sorry they came hone with green on them..... I have no idea what that could be Hz has it as well though
You know I think even if you had come in and used the horn I would have stayed asleep.... 75 missed calls.....hell its so embarrassing  (It was the merengue lady who made 55 calls ) Iris I will NEVER live it down!
Hope said she is well up for that and also I have jut washed and ironed her dress..... we will be with you Thursday, promise and take your netbook if you can as it gets so boring!
You just need to feel better and I hope you slept ok and sending more clotted cream and a ((((( ))))) love Cris who will see what happens in the morning.... xx0 -
Hi Louise,
Ah the Ganel is lovey and the sun won the day today.... Should tomorrow actually. I need to go home flower... got a PL post code (only just but that's not the point ) I come from Pendean way and well home does call sometimes. Cott Valley or my old mate Botalic... though she isn't always friendly This is a lovely [lace but too far north
Don't you wish there was an AC group down here? A few of us did think about it but the funding and the distances kinda put us off...... could always go to Torquay or Totness, its one of those BUT I very rarely cross the Tammer  Typical Cornish eh
Glad your oh will help you and sorry you need the help, the independence loss takes a bit of getting used to! Sending you a ((( ))) and a hope the sun can manage another day.... though the rains back Tuesday I think? xx
Hi debs,
That was a bit like a check sheet..... Thank god for pregabalin eh?! Snowy is sat here shaking his head so I will go bed soon I think else he night bite me....... ((((( ))))) and thanks for all that inf I shall have a lock and see what might help.... xx
Hi Speedy,
Your right you know. this morning (and it was just still morning  ) I felt like death...... Too much time in bed ad the lumber does payback all day and beyond. I have no idea why that didn't wake me either, it normally does..... It wasn't the right kind of sleep and the missed calls have made me wonder how could I sleep so deeply.....
Hope you and S had a good weekend and leaving you a ((( ))) Cris xx0 -
Hi I,
I wonder as well how much those infection hit me.... The antibiotics can as well can't they? Its mostly ended now but I don't heal fast and some of it might have to wait for the drip to fully heal.... mind Sydney's one... I m lucky cus it could just as easily become an abscess... and I have a fear of ulcers so he better not try that one again....
I must eat better (thee will be ore about that to Lynn..... ) I am back on the mtx this week.... it might help eh? The crohn's has responded to it so well and I really hope the cold (I have had it a few weeks) isn't the start of a reaction! Mind i will still take it cus its holding the crohn's down and I can't face that flaring again for a long time!
Hope you and Jessie are ok and sending a ((( ))) xx
Oh Lynn.....where do I start....
I don't eat properly... few problems there. I don't eat meat or fish and I have trouble peeling veg, I can't do much before the wrists go on strike! I have trouble stirring a pan, hell I have trouble lift one...... Its hit my confidence as well as confused me....
I can carry (obviously it hurts) 2 three gallon buckets of water, can't carry one but two are balanced and don't pull me over to the side that's got the bucket on it..... yet I can't carry a bl***y saucepan! You know why... cus the buckets are held really by my shoulders and the pan, the wrists is on the wrists! I live on eggs, toast and sandwiches! I sometimes junk food but cus I am a veggie (with crohn's ) its all a bit limited.
This lot have the best I have in stock...... they have lovely glossy hair and mine falls out by the handful... Lynn I have to sort something out where food is concerned as this is not helping me eh?
I don't look after my self too well..... I get tired and push it as far as it will go and also I wont have it! Stamps foot and puts hands on hips I am in denial I guess...... I always do what I am trying to do no matter how much pain it gives me but I wont do it with saucepans..... I must ask Legs about peelers etc cus she is bound to know. ( hey Legs if you look in leaving you a ((( ))) and a hope)
I actually did fall asleep against the car last sunday at the sale  I know I am not faring so well as people are starting to notice  Mind not always in a nice way... a mate told me to cover my wrists up cus they were making her feel sick......
It wasn't so long ago my body went into shock....maybe sleeping too much is better than hat?! I did think at the time I was dying... and you know what it didn't bother me except I had to get the chicken to bed
Promise i will mention it to the pain doc and well sending you a ((( ))) and a handful of pringles..... hurry though else I will have em back Love Cris xxx0 -
I swear by my OXO Good Grips peelers. I have two sorts, the traditional straight and a Y . The grip is good and fat and the swing blade moves soooo freely that literally no effort is required. They can be a bit on the pricey side - somewhere between 4.50 and 6.00 pounds, depending on where you get them from. A proper kitchen shop might cost more but, if it's an inepedendent trader, they might let you 'road' test each model! All my kitchen equipment is Good Grips, 'cos I foresaw what might happen once my toes started. I now need to get some much lighter saucepans so I'll be off to Tescos or whoever for some of their basic gear. I adore my stainless steel, glass-lidded stuff but I can't lift the two largest pans when they're empty, never mind full!
Eggs and toast and sandwiches is sort-of OK but doesn't the bread bit of your diet affect the Crohn's? I don't know much about that disease but is part of it diet-related? Yeast intolerance triggers all sorts of things - I must read up and find out! I know that supermarkets sell ready-peeled veg etc but at stupid prices. There has to be an answer: we'll come up with something between us all, even if it's sending you parcels of peeled veg: oooooh, there's a thought! DD PS As for that so-called friend who asked you to cover up: let her tyres down next time you see her. She's not nice.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Oh Cris flower....you are not at all well.
Just reading your last posts it's obvious something is going on that needs seeing to.
You know if you just printed out your last three posts and took that info to the docs they would properly see and understand all that's happening with you. these symptoms must be telling their own story and the docs would know what the heavy sleep and tiredness is all about. :?
How dare that 'floosie' make comments about your sore wrists...how very dare she. :x :x I'm not by nature an aggressive type....but that unfeeling, insensitive, rude, so called 'friend' needs a short sharp 'lesson' in manners :!: :!:
Cris I've just 'tooted' to get you up flower as you wanted up at 8am...you hear it? Wish I was nearer and would make you a lovely morning cuppa with a spoonful of soothing, healing honey.
Take care today flower....hope you can see a 'good' doc today if possible (you can't go on like this Cris) and get proper tests to get to the bottom of what's causing it and treatment to help you .
love n ((((hugs)))

Cris...
I was just reading up a bit on Crohn's and it said that when it's chronic and you're not able to absorb food properly that it can lead to anaemia and deficiency of Folic Acid and B12. It also mentioned that lack of these elements and anaemia can cause fatigue and nerve pain.
The article suggested taking those High Calorie drinks to boost the system. Cris I used to get them on prescription for my dad...so that's maybe something to ask about when you speak to the doc?
more healing (((hugs)))

Heard the phone second ring today
Hi DD, Iris and Cham,
She oddly enough is a good mate... helps if I need and I don't think she was thinking really.... When they are bad they start to turn out and have fluid above them as well as to the side.... they do look a bit odd but they are not that bad...... Twas her dogs as well
They are not that bad but you know what it like.... taking things to heart so now a days I do the sale with the sleeves down or in tubigrips
Your all right crohn's and veg is iffy.... Iris the malabsorption is a problem as well. I will phone for a blood test.... been trying for 15 mins but its engaged just now.
You know I do always feel a bit wished when the drip is due but never this bad Its being done next month so that's something. t has worn off... did t quick this time as well  Maybe I should up it to 3 monthly?! Its a bit unpleasant though.
I will look into peelers but would still have to hold it and just now the left one isn't so good at holding but maybe it would be quicker than a knife? DD thanks for the peeler suggestion I shall have a look but to know it works will help. Never used a peeler..... about time I did eh?!
Ready peeled is an arm and a leg in comparison and i am a bit broke just now.... I must do Thursdays sales and DD my pan is quite light but a lot of it is confidence eh? You drop things a few times and it stops you trying too much.... sad idiot here
Right I had better get dressed properly now... this half dressed to do morning duties is such a bad habit
You all have a good day and.... Horrible Histories is on in a min Love Cris xx
Oh forgot to say I can only eat cheap bread.... nice bread I am in trouble and can never eat whole meal.... Sometimes I think what ever is in the cheap bread.... well it ain't bread0 -
My goodness, it sounds like you have really been overdoing it! I often get the falling asleep thing however your sleeping trumps mine!
I hope you are chilling out a bit more and that your sleeping starts to become restful sleep soon.
Thinking of you.
Carol0 -
A good wash is enough, but I didn't realise that you can't absorb nutrients etc with Crohn's. It's a bu**er whichever way you look at it, isn't it? How 'bout a Hickman line for Beaujolais?!
You really do have to start taking better care of yourself. You have worked so hard for your animals over the past few weeks, which they will love, but they don't look after you in return, well, they do, but only by loving you which (tho lovely) ain't much practical good. You need as much (if not more) TLC than they do. Perhaps I should desert The Husband and come and live with you. We can totter round together, headphones on, you looking after the brood, me lookiing after you.
Tell the doc EVERYTHING please: no bravery and saying I'm fine, she/he HAS to know what's really going on. You are a wonderfully spirited woman, you are dedciated to your charges, you are always upbeat and cheering us on, let us do the same for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hiya Cris,
You poor thing. Sending big ((())) hugs but wish I could send something more practical, like a hamper of ready-prepared meals!
Is there no way you could scale back your workload? Your body is exhausted and the only way it can mend itself is by rest and some good food. We're like cars - if we go too long without any maintenance and on an empty tank, we eventually grind to a halt!
With your health problems, it might be worthwhile looking into benefits - you've paid enough to the government over the years so shouldn't feel too proud to accept some back!
Sorry, I don't mean this to sound like a lecture but am concerned about the longterm effect of this on your health. Good luck with that botox - if the nurse turns her back on you for a sec. do try and nab a bucketload for the rest of us!
Lois x0 -
Honestly, we're not nagging - we are worried about your general state, we are very fond of you, we care about you. ((((())))) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
-
Oh no
Cris DD told me that you had a thread - good job we keep in touch via text As you know I was awol yesterday as my eldest had another migraine - all is well only little pinkie went numb this time and s we coped at home with the vomiting :win
I see you have been busy educating those who are not so up to date music wise?? I am as i have teenage kids (hey Cris are YOU a teenage kid at heart??!!). Well done for this.
I have been saying for a good while that armcair duties are a no-no!!! Bed at bedtime with alarm should do the job.
then as Joan Dachs says - you sleep because you need to so you will have to take extra rest.
Are you back on the mtx yet? Do you feel able to if not? How is the cold? I do tend to think the tiredness is the worst thing of all. If I had teh answer I'd tell you for sure, but Cris - in the meantime let US prop you up as you so often do for us
HUGE hugs
Love

Hi Cris
I keep trying to send you a message but it keeps getting reverting back to the blank 'post a message' screen.
not sure if it's my laptop or the forum..
I will try again later ..

AM PLUGGED IN, TRACK 11 AT THE MO. I HAVE BEEN DANCING AND
I HURT LIKE A, WELL, YOU KNOW, BUT I DON'T CARE! I HOPE YOUR
DAY HAS GONE AS WELL AS IT COULD - DID YOU SEE THE DOC? CAN
THEY DO ANYTHING? THINKING OF YOU, VERY, VERY, VERY MUCH. ddHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi Carol, DD, Lois, Lynn, Toni, Iris and Marion,
It was a decent visit and a few things have happened now. My inflammation markers were raised last bloods (I have made the appointment for this months blood test as well) but I am not anemic, or wasn't then at any rate.
She said how ever limited the food I have I am not deficient in anything the full bloods cover so not to be too hard on my self over the diet thing.
The pa is totally out of control and has been for over a year. She said that will take it out of me and the fibro will too.... told me to ask the pain doc if she would be able to steroid jab the wrists and if she doesn't use the medrone in my neck and shoulder to ask if I could have one in the back end instead. I believe she said botox and the medrone so will see on Wednesday.
I have got hair loss... kinda knew that... but she sad the only cure wold be to stop or lower the mtx. I did say I was thinking of ringing the rumo to ask if I could raise it as its not doing the bones yet but has stopped the crohn's from anything bar a small grumble! She warned me it would mean continued or more hair loss and there was nothing that I could take/do to stop it.
I said so I have to decide between hair loss or uncontrolled bones.... well there isn't much contest really is there! So I have rung the rumo, am not allowed to jump to 20 but can go to 17.5. When I see him in October I will probably go to 20. The doctor did say if these were her wrists and elbows she would also take the hair loss and increase the mtx!
I was surprised at how nice and how kind this doc was cus I wrote to her after the last appointment and she did obviously take it in Made me a bit scared to go in so Iris thank you for coming with
She checked my circulation and said wasn't so good just now, I said the drip was next month and she explained I don't have enough O2 to the body or in the tissues etc and that will make me feel, shattered as well and really it wasn't surprising I had a sleep like that. She seemed to think its lucky it hasn't done it before with all tis wrong, and told me not to beat my self up too much over it....... I guess that bit I do need to learn
She was fascinated over the botox and said she was looking forward to reading the letter that explained how much and where as all I knew was my neck and shoulder muscles..... I said the pain doc said it had been shown to help iron out the muscle and was worth ago she said it made sense but as yet none of her patient have had it.... so she again is looking forward to see the letter and the result I did say about practising to move my head to mt shoulder fast
Shall have to see what the new mtx dose does and well just for now I remain shattered but haven't fallen asleep yet
You all ok today I hope and Toni I am so glad she is better today and just wish she didn't get these. ((( ))) and love to you all Cris xx
Sorry Lois forgot to say ... shall grab us a bucket of botox well many be 2 cus I probably need a whole one now a days0 -
Hiya Cris, am glad you had a productive chat with the doc. She sounds nice - don't suppose she could pay me a visit in Aberdeen?!
I think you're making the right decision in increasing the mtx - from what I've heard from other peeps, the hair dose return. Hopefully the steroid jab should make a huge difference, as should the drip, but until then please do take plenty of rest.
Thanks for reporting back....was thinking of you.
Lois x0 -
Hi Cris
I'm so pleased you had a good appointment with the doctor..
I was going to say that those FORTISIP drinks in orange and strawberry are OK (NOT the chocolate or vanilla - ugh) - but if she thinks your diet is OK then you may not need them.. (I swear by them - so quick and nutricious when you are feeling fatigued and can't be bothered to prepare food).
I really hope that the Pain Clinic can do something for you ....
Have a good sleep tonight IN BED!
Marion x0 -
Hi Cris
I am so glad you have been to your gp, I was so worried about you, you work so hard, the trouble is if you dont look after yourself, this work will become even harder.
What I would give to be able to help you out, is there nobody near by that will help, I am sure you will return it when you are up to it.
Please Please take more care, believe me I know you have to work to make a living.
Did you look into asking the farmers colleges, if they could do day release , or is it a no no due to health and safety....sorry I am going on..I am racking my brain to help you.
Sending you loads of hugs ((((((((((((()))))))))) will give them for real one day
Love Barbara xx.
