Still stuck on track 7, bint and all! Love it - have worked out an entire dance routine to it too!

Yup, eyelashes are there to keep debris out of the eyes. How they do it I don't know, it's not as tho they sweep across the eyeball  but that is their purpose. So, given the fact that you spend much time with wildlife in its various shapes and forms, and you lug about bales of hay (or, as I nearly typed hales of bay!) you need to wear something to guard your peepers. PLease consider it - and do it. I hope you have a reasonable day today: frog has set off for la belle France! Bon voyage, mon amie, bonnes vacances! I'm gonna miss her, loads. Did she tell you we had a good old natter on the 'phone this week? Over an hour! Strewth! DD

    Hi Cris

How did the sale go today??

Has your Gastro consultant mentioned Infliximab to you? I have heard that it works really well for some Crohn's patients..

Those nutrional drinks I had a few years ago were Fortisip, which I think must be similar to Entare. My friend's 22 year old son, who has really awful Crohn's, has Fortisip..

(Fur is flying in my kitchen as I type this - both dogs trying to play with a new squeaky red and white football!!)

    Hi Cris,

whole car thing sounds a nightmare ... I went remember going through the whole will it start/won't it thing. Ended up carrying my own jump leads ... but then of course like you say, you need an engine bigger than yours to be able to jump start it. I think the sheeps battery on charge is a good plan for peace of mind, just in case. Though if the battery is no good - you'll just have to blow the pennies and get a new one ... especially before the winter.

DD is right about protecting your eyes ...

Hope the rheumy does come up with a better combination of meds.

DURR - silly question about the fruit ... sorry!!

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi DD,

Oh summer ..... think its officially ended here now! Still least the wind has dropped  Going to keep the chicken in I think so that means can get finished earlier as the fox thing doesn't become an issue..... and in this weather he will be even more likely to be looking for an easy meal.....

Hope you got a decent night? I got home from the sheepsis and just turned in cus knew the armchair would be for the night so I am getting better at avoiding it :lol: Not sure about staying awake though  xx

    Hi Marion,

The Gastro did say if the mtx fails (he was looking at my wrists at the time) then he and the rumo should put their heads together but the rumo did say I needed to hope the mtx did work as I wouldn't get funding for the anti's. Maybe through the crohn's I could?

Start the higher dose this week and glad really as its lost its grip on the crohn's just now as well. The liquid diet thing, bless him, that's when its really bad and I hope he soon feels so much better. Its an evil thing I honestly do think it the worse thing I get. The only thing I could remotely eat the last big flare was rice crispies and even they had me up most the night! I won't have surgery either........ Funny cus I am happy to on anything else but not that.

Oh who is winning with the ball?! Gimpy and Slipper boy have 'fights' over balls, Gimps never breaks them and HE never leaves them whole!:lol::lol:

Hope work is going ok and our holding ok on the increased hours? Cris xx

    Hi Rose,

It started yesterday and I am so hoping it will in a min as well...... Its a nice car but I hope it doesn't think this is how to get on my good side :lol: I am really cheesed about missing the pain clinic, the neck needed to be jabbed! Hey I also could have done with the botox!:lol: xx

    Hi Speedy,

Its not a silly question about fruit, its just crohn's tends to be more food susceptible than colitis is. I always think if you have to have IBD crohn's is the better of the 2........

Its a 2liter and my mates 1400 didn't have much success to jumping it! The electric fence battery powers the fence for 10-12 days and its a heavy duty fence so that's now being run by smaller car batteries and for bow the big one is on stand-by! Its probably just a one off... cars sometimes need a boost up charge wise as it gets colder eh? We seem to have jumped to winter now so fingers crossed eh?! hey you would think it could have waited to let me down till I had finished paying for it eh?!

Hope your ok and S has had a decent time during the hols? xx

    Hi Cham,

Bless her I hope she likes her semi retirement. Its not easy to know when to do that but well done for making the decision on and letting her have a bit of a rest, she sounds like she is quite some horse.

Hey Little Bracken and his mum are meant to be back the end of the week... wonder how much he has changed? Still think it’s brilliant name and the owner likes it as well... he likes Rowan as well but thinks Primmy should be called The Witch.... he has point :lol::lol:

I am trying to balance stuff just now cus i sort of feel one step above death just now b the increased mtx might just be what I need... except for the hair loss :lol::lol: The gp promise’s me its more obvious to me!

Hope your feeling a ton better and sending a ((( ))) Cris xx

One step above death isn't good. I want you 500 steps above it, minimum. How do we achieve that my lovely one? You are a conundrum skezier, so many illnesses, no efficient drugs. Please ensure you sleep in your bed - that is one step more above death every day if you do that much at least. A fretting DD

Oh Cris - I wish I had a magic wand - I would be down that motorway like a flash to wave it over you..

I bumped into a Gastroenterologist I know today and he said he has had good results with his Crohn's patients on Infliximab ... he says to them 'How's your Crohn's' and they say 'What Crohn's??'

I hope the increased methotrexate controls things for you Cris (you can have some of my hair - it's so thick it's like a blooming brush at the moment - despite being on methotrex - I can't understand it!)
    BUT
if it doesn't control it, then I really do hope your Gastro and Rheumy and GP get together and come up with something else (?infliximab if necessary).

My friend's son is on Aziathopine now. A colleague at work has really bad colitis and has been on 30 mg of pred for months ! Whenever they cut it down to 25 mg she ends up in hospital .... I really do have great sympathy for you Crohn's/colitis sufferers...

Just lost *!*!*! message half way through - don't know how I manage that - only ever do it on longish replies!!

S was tested for Crohns and diverticulitis when he was having severe pain and problems with his digestive system. Luckily he was clear and he had out of control IBS, acid reflux and chronic constipation. Thankfully eventually we got these undercontrol. Now desperately trying to remember why I was telling you that ...

Oh yes, because my friend used to do reflexology on him and couldn't get near the points related to digestion. However, her Dad who had Crohns found reflexology did offer him relief during bad times ... and I wondered if you had tried it?

We have had a lovely day out today. We set off in the car in torrential rain and thunder and lightening!! (We planned it the night before when the weather forecast looked more promising.) Luckily the weather gradually improved and we both had a great time!

Jessicar is being a good girl so far. Even managed not to get a new Roe deer grill :D They seem to be jumping out at me at regular intervals
I got rid of my last one because it kept cutting out on me. Nice cos the steering locked. EKK!
You have a busy appt time coming up then. Oh Cris I do hope you can get some help soon. Have had anymore thoughts on the slow cooker?
Sydney is still welcome here if he gives you any more trouble.
Glad more of the employers are due back this weekend.

    Hi,

Having to do this over Velcro who is in her normal welded on position..... Oh and frequent head buts under my chin.... not Velcro for no reason.....:lol::lol::lol:

    Hi DD,

Don't E fret flower I am ok really ..... Just tired and this pa flare has been going on fora very long time! I kinda used to it but the fibro thing is new. I shall get used to it... I have the oa (just though I do curse it so much!:lol: ) I have a bit of an off beat lifestyle that I honestly can't give up as it would shatter me and break my heart as well ...... It keeps me sain and (hopefully) stops me from being too selfish but it also means a bit of work ....... I will be ok once I got used to the fibro eh?! Hey you never now they might bring the pa under control as well

I am a survivor flower and well the love I got for the employers will keep me plodding along ..... and the support from this brilliant forum is invaluable....

Remember how it was..... guess what I got in my ears?!:lol::lol: It was track 7 that got me into Deadmau5 cus it was a single..... shorter version and not that bit that makes you dance :D ((( ))) and some anti-fret draft Cris xx

    Hi Marion,

Bless him he is too young for this! Its an evil illness and its so deliberating as well..... the tiredness crohn's brings is worse than anything I ever had.......The pain is incredible as well..... I had a very bad flare 4 years back and had 2 abscesses... Marion I past out it hurt so much but the doctors I had then only treated me with anti- diarrhea tablets and I waited 9 months to see a gastro...... The plus side for me was I ended up a size 10!

Preds stopped that flare in 2 weeks! Thing is they also went after my muscles and bones..... I was on em 3 months and was so glad to get off them, but they did the job!

Aziathopine was mentioned by the Gastro when I saw him last month but he was happy the mtx was holding it,...... Its sort of escaped a bit but the higher dose will clobber it for a bit..... My Brother has colitis and I have always believed crohn's is the better of the 2. I had it very bad as a kid but have been lucky in the scaring cus I will not have surgery..... (that's one of my biggest fears to be honest)

I see the rumo in October and well maybe 17.5 will get the wrists and elbows less inflamed? Personally I should like to have 25 and clobber it but they wont let me jump to that from 15..... will see what happens on the 17.5 and holding a huge bucket of hope.....

Hey a ((( ))) for you and a couple of smacko's for your girls..... xx

    Hi Speedy,

Bless him, keep and eye on him though as crohn's isn't too easy to detect unless it does big damage.

Mine does the opposite to constipation.... 5-6 hours non stop....TMI!

A lot of this not eating properly is fear of kicking it off if I am honest.......Its so evil and I live alone so hitting the bathroom floor at some ungodly time of night cus you pass out isn;t good... though I normally pass out on the loo..... I have just had 3 months of the dam thing again and be honest it does effect you mentally as the consequences of triggering it are huge..... I sound scared of it eh?! You know what its so lonely when it flares bad..... I am scared of it just never say too much.

Thank God the new doctors are so much better! They helped and also recognised my body went int shock cus of it draining me so bad. Best thing I ever did was change doctors! :D

Sending you a ((( ))) and a bit of saffron cake and cream..... I can eat that :lol::lol: Cris xx

    Hi Tilly,

A hug and a thank you for just being there :D

Gt the lads and their dustbin lids ready for tomorrow and Sunday..... I might not go tomorrow though but will be up early and might just get them to help with the chicken shed  Hey they might help dig out the sheeps shed as well! Another ((( ))) and a hope your feeling ok? xx

    Hi I,

Oh Jessie car is well behaved for you! This one was as good as gold today but a mate thinks the battery will probably play up in the winter so again I need a good sale! Yet here I am saying I might not go tomorrow.....

Sydney is on his best behaviour just now but I need the drip t get this leg to heal...... Its funny as soon as I have had one days worth all my cuts, bites etc start to heal......

Tell you what though it is such a comfy car, got lumbar support and I crawl into it after a sale and boy does it help! Not having to use the clutch also helps and I don't get out of it so wreaked. Oh and its got such a good sound system... just a iffy battery :lol: Hope your doing ok and sending a ((( ))) and Velcro is trying to help type so obviously wants to say hello  xx

Someone asked abut the slow cooker... thanks for that I shall ask for it cus it would really help eh?

Velcro also said she wants to send her thanks for you all helping to keep her employee going

I know you have a wacky, off-the-wall kinda life, and it's the one that suits, and the one that fits you, and that's a good thing BUT we need to work out some way of getting YOU some care. That way the wackiness can continue at full tilt. And that is the troublesome bit - you are too far away! I sincerely hope you made it to bed last night and will do tonight. Every night you do that is another step away from you-know-what, so please do that at least. Right: brace yourself: ((((((())))))) DD

I couldn't get to sleep last night so died a bit re phone ringing 2 hrs later  15 missed calls but its still better than 75!:lol:

Leaving you more saffron and cream..... with poss sheep prints in it(they actually don't like cream... not many things that I can say that about  ) Love Cris xxx

    Hi DD,

Got a bit more energy today...this bed thing might be helping eh?!

Its raining for a change  I seem to be wearing a concrete body warmer and the feeling of being pushed down on my shoulders isn't helping too much but that's probably the neck and as ever the pregabalin is riding in

Hope you got a decent night and am speechless over all those hugs :D ((( ))) back to you xx

    Hi Louise,

You are in the next door post code to me :D The back field comes under St A but the front gate is further up and over and its just 30. I know post codes are big areas and hope your in the lower near the sea 26? I'm quiet near Eden.....  Mixed views on that one

I am sorry about your ears and really hope that the aids help. A ((( ))) for that one as well as a bucket of hopes.

How long have I had pa.... they have been telling me for about 15 years my hands look like RA but the bloods said no. The oa masks some of it but the mri showed spondylosis and litis in my neck 3 or so years ago.

Doctor H I see for the circulation really but I broke down and asked him if he would take over the pain relief of the oa in my back ( the useless doctors wouldn't even send me for an xray!) and he arranged the scan and put me on much better pain control. You know he is such a kind guy! He also arranged for me to see a gastro 4 years ago cus again the useless doctors wouldn#t! You know when he says is there anything else I can help with? Well in my case he must have dreaded giving me the option!:lol: Been seeing him since 2000 so its easier to talk to him now.

I asked him about a year or so ago if he could help with my wrists and elbow and that's when he said pa, I already knew that though from reading this site. Started on sulfa, 9 months later had a major reaction to it and went on to mtx... still waiting for that to work :lol:

The fibro, well when I saw him back in may he started to say he thought there was something else going on re my muscles and I said to him if he was about to tell me I had fibro please could he leave it in the air....... Louise I don't really want another condition :lol: Like not naming it helps  Anyway soon as I sad that he smiled and said lets talk abut your feet then.... kinda of the answer eh?

I am already on the drugs that help. Its inflammation of the connective tissue where the muscles attached to the bones... I think.... Its kinda arthritis of the muscles and connective tissues and flower Pregabalin really helps as does trimodal.

You can fight back a bit... I am losing so much muscle but when they are less achy I do make them try and build up again  Its all just so tiring but hang in there and I see Doc H in October as well but I go over B community not T.

Sending another ((( ))) and who ordered this rain?! Mind t least the fog has lifted :lol: Cris xx

    Hi there Cris

Hope you are having a reasonable day..

Your description of your Crohn's flare up (and 2 abscesses) 4 years ago had me shuddering!! Thank goodness you are in good specialist hands now. That previous GP of yours was a disgrace to the profession.

When my mum first developed diverticulitis I remember phoning her one Saturday many years ago and hearing this awful groaning in the background - and my dad said that was mum (in pain..) fortunately, with a strict diet, she managed not too badly for the next 30 years..

I really hope the 17.5 mgs helps both the PA and the Crohn's.. it's good stuff that methotrex.

You've got a physically hard life Cris, but a wonderful one too..with your lovely animals and the 'great outdoors.' I just wish you had a bit more help with the heavy jobs
