Hello all - tiring kind of day again, just seem to be having a bad spell for sleeping lately (mainly because my insides choose to give me unsettled nights, rather than days - sometimes it feels you're using the day to recover from the night, I'm sure it's supposed to be the other way around 🤔🙄). Though I've caught up on a couple of chores but not that many.
Cold in the garden frog, the second you're out of the sun. I hope you got on nicely with your scarecrow prep and other village life matters, and the shopping :) and wonder if you have done anything much outdoors today. The Broons book, yay! 😊 even as I was typing 'I don't know if you already have it' I thought it was quite likely but thought oh well I'll post it anyway, there are a trillion gardening books, you never know - it is lovely isn't it. (Actually there's no kettle is there, it's a pan on the stove not a 'whistler' - don't think that would be the best idea. 🔥) Anyway I'm glad you have it & love it 😊. I have caught up on Monty ep 3 now, what beoootiful hollyhocks - and I had already chosen more or less what the chap suggested! (a double and a two-tone to go along with the dark one - Coffee Single - I already have growing) so I should get 'the full hollyhock experience' 😂. I loved Dr Khan's pretty garden at the end (and two hedgehog houses too! very topical!) I was interested in the creeping thyme lawn but maybe not so much once it turned out to not be laboursaving (and even less so the open front garden for people to come along and chat - no ta, I think I hardly need say #miseryguts 😉). I do have the thyme here & there though so will see how that goes. Glad to hear Lucy is feeling better and no-one else has succumbed 👍️ but I hope Sleek is ok 😟 good luck for next week.
Hello Barbara and sorry his nibs is still being 'difficult' (pot and kettle for me to talk about stubbornness &c 😳 I'd better not point the finger) - glad the staples are out, at any rate, half a league onward 👍️ glad you like the shed, I love the old push mower, well all of it. 😍 Hope you are getting a chance to get out & see what's doing.
Hello Joan, nothing like as windy today, hope better for you too. Sorry to hear about Sue's carer, how very unfair, but life is. Hope they get her RA or PsA under control for her.
Hi bosh, hope the mtx not too bad today, my insides are not behaving at all at the moment, silly things, bodies aren't they. 🙄 I do like the sound of the carrot soup party though that sounds nice & digestible but it sounds like there were more than enough Guineveres to go round already so I'll stick to Alice's tea party, you know where you are with tea. Anyway I see you had an early walk and I'll have a late one if I have one at all, so I hope yours helped you have a change from HV even a little one helps. Have a good night & good weekend :) x
Hello Kitty too 😺 xx
& love to all

Morning everyone.
It's chilly out there isn't it? Brrr but bright which is always good.
Still no sign of our friend Mike😕 I think you have been feeling quite rough Mike. Rest/sleep as much as you can try drinks with gingers in too like fentimans ginger beer or the pink lemonade and ginger. Also cheese and onion pasties helped my morning sickness and apparently it's very similar. Huge ((())) and love from me and I know all of us here xxx
Joan I bet Sue will miss that last I wonder if she has Psoriatic Arthritis if she's got psoriasis. I hope she is getting good treatment either way. ((())) love to you both xxx
Hi Barbara Mr B got 'told off' did he? How embarrassing mind you you have told him over and over to move more so it's not your fault. Maybe he'll do more now the staples are out though.
Lucy is much better today and off for the weekend now so should be fine by Monday when she's next in. I don't think it was norovirus but who knows?
Has your eldest gone to see his friend who brought COVID over? Has he been before? It's just so beautiful I am desperate to go. Paul has a job over there coming up so soon I might be able to get there!
Take care and have a good weekend.
Good Morning Reshmi I hope today is a good one for you. I love your mad hatter pic and yes it does help find your place doesn't it? Or someone else's post.
Defrosting fish? What is going on with your sister? Maybe she is worrying that she will poison them all? I hope she's ok ringing so often is odd.
I think a rucksack would help my neighbour I am going to see if Lucy has an old one for him - Thanks good idea!
Oh your LA! He is so popular with the ladies!!!! Woo wooo! Get him surrounded by them doing his own cheese spread sandwich 🥪 he is already able to prepare healthier food than his Daddy! 😀The round table pic is just perfect!!
We'll say no more about MTX Fridays shall we? No cheese butties for any of us for a day or two (vegan cheese is by the way is no better). Steady today plenty of sleep just like poor Mike needs to with his chemo.
Ok so Costa hot chocs are slightly better than Starbucks but neither really good to have regularly. Once in a while will do I think as a lovely treat as you said😋
See you soon for our walk....
Kitty I hope all is well with you it's lovely and sunny here, but very cold. Lucy si off today and has gone on a date (breakfast) with a lad from work called....guess?
Aidan! A breakfast date how sweet is that? Sleek will be along to see you later today because she is chaperoning them first! Watch this space!
Toady my nights are generally ok stomach wise it's usually the days I am sorry though ((())) for you maybe you need a wakey up potion from Sleek. She says she'll pop on over after she has checked in on Kitty and chaperoned Lucy on her breakfast date happening right now! I have Lucy's location on my phone (she has me too) so I can see where she is.
You will indeed have the 'full hollyhock experience'!!! That made me smile too😁bless him. Some people do get a bit addicted to one plant don't they? The Church warden here is Hosta obsessed. Mind you hers are fabulous examples I have a few of her offspring. I was also quite excited about the thyme lawn, but rejected the idea still trying to work out what to do at the front here though. I'll maybe take a pic and wait for ideas from everyone....
I did get out as you say in the sun and stopped before the shady bit yesterday. Monty was on last night again so i will save that for ironing day in the week. I also have a Monty book and one or two others, but Broon's is just lovely so visual. A saucepan will do it still boils water.
Some bits arrived yesterday for my scarecrow and the village bunting too so it's all coming together. I will take pics soon.....wellies I need wellie🤨
Better get on need to wash my hair this morning 🙄 You have a good day and enjoy your garden🙂
Quick wave to Jason and Arthuritis too👋

Morning gang. Sorry I have not been on here for the best part of a week but the chemo knocked me more sideways than I had expected. Last Friday and Saturday were OK as they give you a massive amount of anti-sickness meds when they start the chemo, Sunday was OK cos I had pills for that day but after that the sickness kicked in. Could not keep anything down, kept retching and so forth. Totally lost sense of taste, even water tasted funny - having my first mug of tea at the moment since last Sunday. So, weak, washed out and tired now; have to get some food in over the next few days at chemo again on Thursday. Thanks for the suggestions but I don't like ginger; anything with milk, cheese etc has made me feel queasy. Baby Sister has been brilliant coming over every day with "something you might like", needless to say I have not had any of it! I am going to try to do an ASDA order in a minute for tomorrow as I am thinking that a bit of Birds Eye cod in parsley sauce may be OK. Anyway, thanks to all of you for your continuing support. xx

Asda delivered all our stuff yesterday, rang dad today, he keeps talking about Clovis (covid of course which he doesn’t have. How he has a wet nose! And how his neighbour’s th started to smoke. We have the same conversation every week. Anita is going this afternoon. Nothing to tell you, so sending love and hugs.

Hi To B Joan Mike toady and Toni and K I’m afraid I’m not doing a proper reply today T and t etc, but how are you all doing today? Unfortunately HV has def erupted that’s why is this is short for hopefully it will be short lol, I managed to walk this morning which was good and unusual but I did somehow have a very good nights sleep last night thank goodness but today at this precise moment I’m really not feeling so great this weird weather and with both hot and cold parts to the day and then freezing nights is def not agreeing with me at all , my skin doesn’t feel alright how’s your skin atm T? Sudocrem that’s great I use it a lot too, I wish I could put it all over my face before I go out, but I’m a bit worried people might think “ there goes bosh again with her extreme make-up on”, or something like that , lol, I know that poor little innocent LA gets quite scared if he sees me putting any cream on my face bless him, my mum got in a massive mood because I bought a cheap pair of shoes to wear occasionally when indoors DV has erupted even more than usual, Excess fam are good thanks they even went to the farmers market today bit soon after recovering from Covid and stomach bugs etc really but I say nothing and just sit here smiling like a Cheshire cat, nice of you to make the cuppas at the church Toni, Lucy has got a date with A, aww, bless. Hope all well at frog's and will be back for gardening chat and such things tomorrow - thank Sleek for the potion I think she actually slipped me some sleepy drops as I had a better night, I will try the wakey one tomorrow and if that's as good I will be much obliged to her 😺 xx
Joan hello, still pretty chilly here too but the first ice cream van of the year was about playing Yankee Doodle Dandy so someone was optimistic! Have a good Sunday xx
Hi to bosh and hope a bit more peace will reign at HV soon & that you have another good night's sleep 2 in a row that would be nice to hear :) x
Quick wave to Barbara
and to Kitty

Oh yes Mike try cod in parsley sauce! I lived on that with mash and peas when I was pregnant with Charley (the only time in 40 years l ate fish!) along with those cheese and onion pasties. Drinks you need drinks definitely. Maybe try lemonade or limeade! Coke even? Lucy liked a Rubicon fizzy drink. Get more anti sickness this time eh?
I am off today to Goodwood with Paul 4 hour drive so taking pain relief now! Apologies for this short post but will make up tomorrow.
Take care everyone!
Love to you all
Toni xx

Morning all, yes, it's rhe bad penny again. 😊
Mike, I am sorry you are having such a bad time with your chemo. I don'tknow what to suggest but ice cream. Nice and cod when your mouth is sore as mine was. It's strange how we all react differentlynto the drugs. Here is a poem I wrote 1 year aftwr my diagnosis. Although you might not find comfort in it.
Stalker
One year ago we met.
Just one year - and yet,
How can I ever forget!
Sometimes I catch your shadow,
Sneaking down an alley,
just around a corner,
in the darkest recess of my brain.
Stalking me -
the ghost of what once was-
and what might be again.
I thought I had expunged you,
drove you from my head
in the halcyon days
when poisons in my blood rid me of your threats.
I believed you would be gone for good!
But here you are, my stalker,
waiting,
while fear of your return fills my mind.
Oh Cancer, why are you so unkind?
Toady, I can haedly see my screen as the sun is blinding me. But I'm waving back at you.
Reshmi, I ove those ittle cat figures'
Antoinette, I love fish, so thank you.

Xx
hi Joan how are you and Sue today? I’m not too bad at this precise moment in time thanks my mum is okay but my dad is being extremely difficult stomach not so great but that’s to be expected as had mxt on Friday blood test at hospital tomorrow have a good evening take care x.

Hi Toady how are you? I thought I’d write you more of a “proper” message this time as my day off from message writing is over, lol, it must be tough having a unsettled nights because of your insides giving you trouble luckily I don’t have that prob atm but I have had in the past when my mental health was not good it is definitely a very upsetting thing when your “body Clock”is not functioning in the right way or at least that’s how it seems, I hope it settles down for you I’m not too bad thanks I’ve got a bit of a foot sprain that seems to be coming and going I think being cold doesn’t help it but I’m not sure what else is causing it anyway I was able to walk this morning so that was good hopefully it’ll be okay tomorrow for my blood test at the hospital Im not sure whether I’ve already commented on it or not but I loved that line “too many Guiniveres”, lol, you’ve hit the nail on the head there, okay I think I’ll go for now, but I hope you have a better night tonight toady my night wasn’t so bad thanks but here’s hoping for a good sleep for both of us this time take care. Xx

Hello folks - this is a very little one from me as I have heard this evening that an elderly relative has passed away so have been talking on the phone etc. If I'm not around tomorrow it's because I'm doing the same as I have offered to ring around and send emails etc to help & make less for my cousin to do, so don't worry I am just doing practical things not being terribly upset although I am upset too of course.
Thinking of Mike and sending best wishes, and hoping frog has had a nice day & will be glad to hear about it & any news.
Thank you for the lovely waving kitty, Kitty it was very cheering :) hope things not too bad with you.
Hello Joan, not the best of days as it turned out but I had a nice morning and got some things done & some time outside in the garden with a bit of sun and the birds (gathering for their nests).
Glad you felt up to having a short day off bosh :) & thank you I had an ok night myself and hoping for another, that's a lovely calming moon over the sea picture just the sort of thing to visualize & try & clear your mind as you go to sleep (instead of turning over the next day's jobs like I usually am, which is naughty). I suspect I would get on better with my gut if I made more effort working out what causes most trouble / monitoring diet etc, it's just I don't want to dwell on it & have it too much at the front of my mind - but it does mean it's partly my fault for not taking control more. Sorry the foot sprain didn't completely go at the time, hope it improves properly soon. Have as good a night as poss yourself and hope you can stay reasonably unaffected by DV &c, good for you that you manage to smile & say nothing. x
See you all soon and
love to Barbara 😘 xx

And PS good luck with the bloods bosh I meant to say, preferably with no long queues and everyone being sensible x

Morning everyone 😊
Well i am not convinced Mike is feeling 100% yet, but I do hope you are okish for now at least well enough to read and like posts. Which anti-sickness did they give you? Was it metoclopramide? Or ondansetron? The only consolation is that they are banging your chemo doses in very close together so it will at least be over sooner😕 have you tried the cod in sauce yet? Lucy also ate curry in her early days on chemo for her that went down well. Takes all sorts doesn't it? Has Susan been in touch? I'm sure she has bless her. The main thing is rest, rest trust me sleep and doze as much away as you possibly can it will end and will be worth it huge ((())) xxx
Morning Joan well I did ok....ish. It's 4 hours from here to Goodwood when we stopped after 2 hours at teh services blimey I could hardly move, but I sussed it out after that with my click heat (like a wheatie, but you click a metal button and it heats up) and an extra codeine (safely within limits I promise). Paul had a great time and it was a lovely day weatherwise so that was nice and we had our chairs to sit down and plenty of nice coffees 😊 Hope you two are doing ok? ((())) xxx
Morning Kitty me duck. The 'bad penny' can turn up just as often as she likes😉
Has Sleek told you about her back? the vet thinks something is wrong and I didn't believe her. BUT Paul tested it last night and she certainly jumped and gave him a warning which she NEVER does😕 I have put Metacam (cat anti-inflammatories) on a small portion of her breakfast and hidden all dried food until she eats it...so far it is being ignored though🙄
Do you think I should go for tests maybe an Xray? I am quite bothered to be honest cats are so good at hiding pain. She's still running jumping purring climbing eating (except when someone puts medicine in her food) that I don't know whether to just leave her in peace😕
Good poem that one for those of us who know...bloomin cancer. hmmph😡
Chris gets his phone call finally this week doesn't he?
I have got to book my medical at the Drs🙄 all go isn't it?
Morning Reshmi how are you today? Still MTX hungover I suspect, but today is getting better. Are you having your bloods I hope you are in and out with no temptation🤞 I have my my medical to book which will include the works I suspect. Never mind it has to be done else they will chase us won't they?
I am going for a short walk later if you care to join me? It will be a short one as that journey wasn't easy yesterday and will take afew days to recover from. Paul did have a nice time and I had my chair to sit on once we were there as well as a lovely pot of vegan curry and soya decaf coffee.
How has HV been? and LA and BR? Is he running after his big brother yet? I bet LA is proud of him 😊 and your Mum's eye is she all healed up now and able to spot a fleck of dust at 100 yards again?!
I need to wash our blankets (they smell of petrol 🤢) and coats we wore yesterday too unbelievable the smell of them.
Well hopefully I will catch up on all your news later take care.
Morning Barbara I hope you are ok and mr B is doing well? Getting up and about now. I expect the nurses told him he will be risking a DVT if he doesn't move more!
Did you see Niamh over the weekend?
Just had a strange cat in the house! Sleek went mad! The vet says she has a bad back and although she is doing everything as normal i think she is right. She won't take her metacam in her food she is ignoring the food😕
Where is Aidan when you need him?
Morning Toady I hope you are ok and have some energy today?
All is sort of well here although I am very worried about my Sleekipuss.....her back does hurt the vet is right, but it's only obvious when you touch her it in a certain place. I have put her Metacam in a small quantity of her food as so far no good🙄 she doesn't eat naughty stuff like chicken or cheese so no place to hide it which I could guarantee it will be consumed. I'll leave it there a few hours. Back at the vets on Thursday.
The new young tabby just came IN! At least Sleek had her/him so is pretty well ok.
A long day yesterday for me an early start as you noticed....an uncomfortable car (photo to follow) and a long journey home from Goodwood. Still Paul loves it and loves (for some reason) having me with him so I sucked it up. This week will have to be steady.
Oh I missed my garden too! I just missed it so much still maybe things will have grown when I take a look later on!😊
I am very sorry to hear about your elderly relative passing away. You are good to help with letting people know that's actually quite a tough job as everyone likes to talk don't they? Well done being kind and I hope it's not too bad and you still get a little time outside ((()))).
have I forgotten anyone/anything????
Not with it today so maybe we should just EAT!
all condiments available along with vegan/veg bangers!

That's the car we went in 4 hours there 4 hours back! 😣 guess what his name is?

Morning Froggie, they gave me both the anti-sickness meds that you mentioned, the Ondantasteron worked far better but it causes constipation and I have enough of that on my own so they were reluctant that I took them for more than 2 days. When I phoned the hospital as I was having trouble they said that they will discuss different meds in the clinic on Thursday before chemo. Birds Eye do not do the fish in sauce anymore so I had to settle for Youngs version which was Alaskan pollock instead of cod, it turned out to be a skinny fillet in a watery parsley sauce. Vixen will not eat fish!!

@frogmorton my guess(s) would be Frodo or Freddie

I hope your back is not too bad (()) love to Paul (()) and Charley (()) and Annie (()) and the carers (()) and Lucy (()) and Tia (()) and Kari (()) and your lovely neighbours ((())
