normally I’m the same, my skinny sister is a lot stronger than she looks

i read some Balzac yesterday not much a few pages, but it was lovely, incidentally a French guy was pestering me on fb and then re-emerged with a different profile so I did a double block but not of the pipes lol, so water, cows milk and soy should be flowing freely in your house apparently 😂

if in doubt we will steal LA’s milk, we’ll just call it broccoli juice haha, he only eats tender stem broccoli apparently- get him! As Toni might say, lol, I blame bill for this food snobbery, also my eyedrops have run out again, so if there’s any spare pond water available, please just add a dash of soy milk and we’ll have beaten the pharmaceutical companies again lol.

Hi all 👋 very dull sort of a day.. in all senses.. I've sorted my sock drawer, if that's of interest to anyone (thought not 😴).

Really not much going on at all and plinking with rain mostly so have just done some indoor chores. Interesting about your veg patch frog, is Paul against it because it would be more work for you, or on aesthetic grounds, or something else 🤔. Either way you said going to rather than thinking about so you're going ahead I take it. Yes I love how veg looks, definitely, whether it's beans peas etc, neat rows of things, or whatever 😊. Not that it's been a good year for me (will be really be having some dry warm weather? have not dared look ahead it keeps saying wet forever. would be very welcome!) but next year will be different of course 😉. Sorry about your trees, tree guards no good to you of course seeing as Mr Mole is coming up from under! Hope they (the trees) survive, you will have to pipe a little offputting music down or whatever it is they say. Good tidings that Penelope is nearly home (sparkles, pshaw 🙄) and everything has gone well. Glad your friend has had a break with her sister but bad luck one of the dogs doing himself a mischief, obviously the week for little dogs causing people scares, lucky that it was straightforward. Nice that the the 2 farm cats are just passing through & not mousers 😺 what a nice change I would trade anyone a couple of dear old not-bothered tabbies. Hope you've had a good day, I saw the word hairdresser and gave a shudder, hope it went well for you both. Look forward to village fete news 👍️ :) xx

Hi bosh, I didn't miss a post before mine last night then, so all's square with the universe, well that bit of it 😄. Glad the WR was ok and you've got more time today, hopefully your mum has not needed you for stuff so much. Good to hear the Balzac is enjoyable 😊 not so much le FB pest though, well done spotting it was the same person again, if in doubt head for a very dry section of the cafe library where no-one ever goes, politics, or geography or something. Peace & quiet guaranteed. Just the occasional toad with a cup of tea (glad the milk is not cut off!). I learned yesterday that platypuses don't have stomachs (as such), so on behalf of all of us whose stomachs don't play nicely or let us eat certain things, or wake us up in the night, I say, lucky old platypuses. 'Don't have that broccoli juice, it'll upset your stomach' Platypus: 'Ha! Oh No It Won't'. I did used to like broccoli actually, shame. And other things that are a bit tricky but good for you, some beans nuts etc; I'm taking some vegan omega 3 at the moment to compensate for that and also not eating fish etc. Tenderstem broccoli, oh I say, I can see me trying that on my parents growing up 🥦 (but as you say, that's where some of these fancy tastes are from so you reap what you sow &c). dare I ask where you are at with the iron tabs? Do not drink Bosh's broccoli juice..well some of it I'll help you out a bit with it. Maybe if we warmed it up it would be more like soup???

I think Paul likes flowers so his objection to my moving the veggie plot is really on aesthetic grounds. I personally love the look of veggies also on aesthetic grounds like you they look lovely. I might just go ahead anyway I have started clearing the flowers a bit ready. Rehoming. I don't think he realises a garden is never totally 'finished'.

Poor Sleek has been out in the ☔ come back in lying on her blankie by the radiator. Optimistically as it's not switched on bless...

To be honest it isn't a nice thought having the scary heat they are getting in some parts of the world ATM the fires etc... Is anyone doing anything about global warming yet???? Honestly they have known about it since the late 70's or even earlier though it was totally poo-poo'd wasn't it? I think the rain might be a little safer than fires and heat related deaths. Rubbish for us wanting to walk or garden though.

I think the farm cats just pass through as part of their daily inspection, but their job is to keep the farm free of mice/rats probably. You need a Sleekipuss of your own who isn't bothered she would see off invading cats. Having said that the birds do 'alarm' still when they see her even though she isn't bothered.

Foodbank this morning..... then picking up Lucy to visit the foster babies this afternoon. Hope your day is good.

Hi everyone

Total opposite to yesterday, has been all go 😬 I was rather like that piece of chewed string again frog for a moment there. Nosegay went a bit 🍌🍌 in terms of messages to deal with but all quiet again now and have just had a very nice potter round the garden in the peace & quiet 😀. It's just nice out there now. I see, that is the Paul side of the flowers vs veg question, but like Mrs Slocombe you are unanimous in this 😄 (or is there a happy medium maybe? lots of veg do 'flower' anyway). Hope you managed some garden yourself between errands and seeing Lucy etc. No of course we don't want the extreme weather, anywhere 😔 you read these things and can't quite believe what you are reading don't you 😕 awful. Our rain here is all part of the instability too I suppose, it really isn't like our childhood summers is it, it's not just nostalgia. I do think whatever we do now is too little (cheery, eh). Not much else in line for me this week - a bit more sorting maybe. The socks weren't so much in need of pairing, as checking for overdue to be chucked 😬 one minute they're new, the next you wouldn't wave them about in public, that type of thing. I suppose I know what any farm cat will be up to in its day job 😫 but I liked to think of them being off duty when you see them, so at least not going on under your nose. Have a good Thursday ( < reminder of what day it is tomorrow to me as much as to you!) xx

Hello joan, glad to hear the scan went ahead 👍️ I dared not wish you luck beforehand again I thought I'd wait & see! There was some sun in the end, it was very welcome 🌞. Mostly tea for me, more than coffee most days. I have instant or a cafetiere sometimes, the coffeemaker is only a little filter one I don't have anything like those capsule-y things. But yes if I had to take something to a desert island it would have to be tea ☕️. Have a good day tomorrow :) xx

Hi bosh, sorry that group was alright but that you didn't get off to as early a start as you wanted. Hope anyone that was there this week was ok. I hope your mum's appointment went well too🤞. Nothing much going on with me today should have a walk but I think I should get off to bed earlyish instead. I've been listening to some quite good guided meditation at night which is probably better for me than late night internet (not the cafe I don't mean, just random browsing and timewasting). The website is stopping the maths puzzle so that's one thing I won't be doing 🤷‍♀️ I'll have to practice my 99 times table somewhere else. Hope all EF ok and not too many littleys with unsuitable things in their mouths (this could go for bil too I guess) - have a good night and hope to be in earlier tomorrow 👋 :) xx

Failed to do any gardening at all yesterday🙄 but I did see who has been stealing from the village cart. the person(s) in question were on my suspect list. Not sure what to do yet had a chat with a couple of villagers when I saw it happen and checked the money tin was empty. Very disappointing.

My lovely neighbour is in hospital again, but hopeful she may yet escape before the weekend.

I might do a Mrs Slocombe regarding the garden he needs to understand it's for the best, but I do have one idea to make it slightly prettier for him. You are also right plenty of veg do flower.

I have bid on a smashing outdoor cover for Penelope on nosegay. I might just get it my max bid is reasonable. When she comes home all resprayed and we go to rallies I'd like to be able to protect her from the elements. I hope your 🍌 on the same site sorted out in the end?

I have to agree it is a worry about the future of the planet makes me want to tell my girls not to have children because who knows what they will have to live through. Too clever (AKA stupid) for our own good!

no I didn’t make it out to the bike shop yesterday. I just had a quick ride out around the block as I wanted some fresh air and it’s done me no good whatsoever. 10 miles or so and felt every ripple in the tarmac not to mention the bumps. Hopefully when my mood lifts my pain will go down.

Hi all, was nice early on but has turned nasty 😔 no skipping about in the garden for me. Chores it is then.

Finished my nosegay packing, nearly - one really fiddly bit on there comes in if you sell more than 1 thing to someone using the ebay global shipping thing, people don't necessarily understand that you can't adjust the cost as it's set by them. You have to do creative things. Anyway hope you got your cover frog 🤞I didn't realize (or forgot) poor Penelope has to stay out. A cover would be great especially as who knows what we'll be in for, sandstorms hailstorms freak snow in July 🙄 yes stupid stupid people. Oh dear your cart theft sleuthing has turned up a culprit or 2, that's a very mixed blessing, good to solve, not good to tackle 🤔 what to do indeed. Sorry also your neighbour is unwell do hope she does make it home for OH's birthday. No other news, had a highish quote back from a builder but I'm not sure we would get on anyway so there's that to consider; couple of other irons in the fire, more on that if they come to anything. Sock darning, yes I wonder if it's on the up again now, because of the swing to repair & save more things; I have been known to darn, usually a small hole in a garment though. Talking of repairing, a cousin was telling me about one of the Men's Shed schemes they have, but some council red tape means they have had to let ladies in - in this sort of instance I do think that defeats the object. hope you’re all ok today?

Toni I had the vile symptoms (you know what I mean) last night, but only for about an hour and I eventually re- gained control of my mind and without going into details that no one wants to hear on a public forum, no lasting damage was done, I’ve made a note of it in my diary / notepad - like the psych nurse said to do, so I think that’s the main thing now, it happened, I dealt with it, the psych nurse asked me what the MH team can do to support me, now I’m thinking, if the worst comes to the worst, I would ask them to sedate me, I guess, but it hasn’t come to that, I’m feeling safe atm - just wanted to share that with you Toni thanks.

It's now going to be a 'barn Fete' maybe a tiny bit smelly but warm and dry.

She and the family are all well. She has been put on the next level up (down?) for her eyesight and is going to get some help now with getting about and technology too. She sends her love and things of us all every day.

Well done dealing with those awful distressing symptoms yesterday as you said so well. It's happened you managed you noted it and that is hopefully it for a good while. You can discuss with psych nurse too next time you speak to them. I think your plan B about sedation if things got really bad is reasonable. You are a 💪person I am very impressed how you are coping.

I loved the ditty about the girls and LA it's so sweet. Especially with us all feeling like we 'know' him and big or little Ella!

Maybe our little taxi driver can try cubic zirconia? I mean it looks the part or get his Mima to bargain hunt for him - there that's an idea😉

Glad your Mum's check went well she can relax for a little while. I know diabetes is a tough condition to manage it's life threatening and that's it like our Arthritis you've got it forever. She should pat herself on the back too.

How are you this sunny - nope that was a fib - this overcast, but dry so far day?

Well done getting the nosegay issue sorted it sounds a little tricky. I am still waiting. 3 days 15 hours to go for the cover. No sign of movement yet still only me. Maybe I jumped too quick time will tell. Penelope is indoors at home, but when we go on rallies, no such luck and next years' rally is Devon near Dawlish so salty and maybe sea mists and rains.

The really good news is I am picking her up at 9.30 this morning!!!!!!! Yippee😊

I do repair especially this year with not buying any new clothes. Once they 'go' again, Kari usually gets my cast offs for her art work, cleaning brushes etc. I think you're right 100% to do small repairs. It's wrong this throw away society and probably, well certainly,, part of the reason for the fire and brimstone happening in other parts of the world. We are all stupid yes I agree. Those in power would have been seen as nutters, tree huggers etc in the past wouldn't they if they'd tried to say anything?

Oh dear I don't think anyone should have to let anyone in their own shed! regardless of gender. My shed is just mine not a gender exclusive one though luckily not part of the community scheme. The world really has gone mad.

My wife has told me that Halloween decor hunting season has officially started, so the yearly trawl around shops like TKMax is upon us. He says drinking the morning cuppa out of a spider web mug.
