Morning all
Barbara, good luck at the dentist's. I still cant get an NHS one. So many people think Tunbridge Wells is a posh, well off area, and they are so so wrong. The homeless in our town is so bad now.
Hope you all have a good day in what ever you have or have not planned.
Is there any birthday cake left, I could do with a sugar boost this morning.Karen xx0 -
Judging by the property prices in Tunbridge Wells, I think it's true to say that it can still be considered an affluent area. Karen, the poor and homeless exist in most towns.0
-
Karen its awful how there are so many homeless...my youngest son lost his house in the recession...it was a good job he had us..I waited at the dentist for just over an hour...and was in 6 mins for a checkup that cost £18...not bad for 6 mins work...she said I need a filling...I knew this but told her to leave it till I come back...sometime you can end up in pain when they disturbed things...so I go back after my hols...and that will be £49....
MrO...Karen is right..living in TW doesn't mean you are well off ..I suppose it depends on the area...
I am shattered...so will have a cuppa in the garden ...its a lovely day...Love

Hi Everyone
So nice to see the sun again and it looks like it's here to stay for the Bank Hols - that will make a change
Glad you got on well at the dentist Barbara. I think you are wise to leave the filling 'til after your holiday. Years back I had what I thought was a 'simple' filling and then ended up with an abscess which resulted in a 'root canal'...what a performance .
We had a surprise as our neighbour went off on holiday to Canada and when he returned said it was his honeymoon. He's 80 . Good for him I say
MrO, I used to live in T Wells and although there are affluent people, there are also those who really struggle.
See you all later0 -
Catie I love this weather not to hot or cold...I was thinking the same with this filling...I just didnt want them disturbing it....not till I come home
Bless your neighbour a honeymoon at 80..brilliant I hate to think of people living alone....
The little birds are still singing there heads off in the back garden...
case nearly packed...I am taking crutches and will fold my walking stick in the case....these hips aren't very happy about going they can stay at home if they want im going...
See you all tomorrow hope you sleep wellish xxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
I reckon I'll be 80 before I get a honeymoon
I might have to go back to bed today as I'm very, very tired and due my humira injection (well I should have taken it on Tuesday so a bit behind). I still haven't sorted anything out holiday wise  .
There never seem to be enough hours in the day.
Just time to grill some bacon sarnies.

Morning all
Elizabeth, I know what you mean. But, at the end of the day around 6pm, I have had enough and want to go to bed.
I am going to the college today with H. As she has mental health issues they need to see her so they know how to help her. Which is good. And to find out if we can help with her portfolio package and travel. They have a special bus pass here but it is still £520.00 and to be honest all in one we cant do it.
Hope everyone had a goodish night and in whatever you are going to do today, have a good one.Karen xx0 -
Hi Elizabeth
A bit behind? Ah well not to worry at least you didn't forget totally. I hope you get a rest and feel better for it :?
Hi Karen
Hope all goes well at college for H. Can they help with funding that pass? In staffs kids here can get a staffs pass (14-19 age) and all tickets are a £1
Lovely and sunny here so want to get in the garden if I can0 -
I'm still awake and the injection is upstairs lying on the bed. Got stuck on facebook (but words isn't working). Also trying to sort a small problem with British Gas.
£520 is a lot Karen! I suppose it is even dearer without one. Is there a way to pay in installments although its still not cheep.
Trouble is Karen I need to sleep in the day in order to cope with the evenings.
Hope you get out into the garden at some point Toni

Karen good luck today...hope it all goes well for Hayley...blimey they want a lot for that bus pass...I do hope there is a way round it...
Toni...send some sunshine round will you....
I am in a pickle...got all my papers from the hospital ...I had to pay for them...a few things have come up...the OA in my knee is worse than I thought...and I have chronic Kidney disease.... now I have blood test for my kidneys since a blood test picked up on it....but not once has my GP mentioned Chronic or disease....I will have to ring the insurance up now because they will be shut Monday I am fuming... :x
See you all later...I hope that Coco and Christine are doing ok xxxx
Just spotted you there E hope you get that sleep..now get in bed...Love

Barbara,
My advice would be to book an appointment with your GP to explain the documentation to you.
My comments in respect of Tunbridge Wells were not meant to annoy anyone. I'm also familiar with the area having worked there for two years . I'm not far away in Wimbledon and still visit .0 -
Afternoon all
Well, it went very well. Hayley was a bit overwhelmed but did well. She will have so much support there. Also I managed to talk to someone in the student support financial side. Once she receives the new application forms, she will send to me and they can help with the travel, anything to do with college work and even outings which they do 2 or 3 times a year. But she said we have to get in quick when H enrols in August. So, we shall be at the college as early as poss. So that was good news.
Barbara, they always seem to keep things back. It is wrong. So Tuesday you have them. I am sorry about the kidneys. It must have been a shock for you.
Elizabeth, I hope I didn't offend, I do understand how tired you get, especially as you are up so so late with your son. Hope you managed a good lay down today.
And Mr O, no offence taken. It's just, for me when I tell my old friends where I live. They remark on how posh an area I live in, Being Royal Tunbridge wells doesn't help. But nowadays it mainly does consist of people like us who do not have much cash coming in. And believe me, if we could move away, I would jump at the chance.Karen xx0 -
Hi Everyone
The good news is that I've finished with the physio ...until the next time
Barbara, goodness, that must have come as a shock and I'm so sorry you had that news. Do you think a chat with your GP might help?
Elizabeth, I hope you managed to have a good rest today and feel less tired tomorrow.
Karen, so pleased everything is working out for Hayley. I was really shocked to hear the bus pass was £520. Goodness how things have changed - sure it used to be free in my day :?
Toni, we've also had 'the sun' and I've managed to plant some strawberries out.
MrO would it be possible for you to move out of your house during the Wimbledon Tournament please?0 -
Afternoon all
Karen I am so pleased for H...and you because I know you were worried....and I am glad the support is there...
MrO...how are you doing....
Catie thank goodness the physio is finished..I remember it well....
I have rang the docs and he is off for a month...he goes back to Malaysia to see his family...so it is a stand in and he couldn't help...the receptionist who is very nice said they must have told me about it...sorry but I think I would have remember that bit..all I knew was that my kidney readings were slightly raised..so what I do now is beyond me..I don't want to go and my insurance is void... :?
I may have to ring Tuesday morning before we go...but then wont have the relative paper work...oh well we will see..they can keep me in Spain for all I care...Love
Barbara0 -

Got to post again I think you're only allowed 3 smilies per post :?
Today folks please could you all cross your fingers for my Lucy?
She has her trial at the hairdresser's 9-4 (or 5 we can't remember  )
Thanks everyone
PS can't find the hairdresser smilie anyway :roll:0 -
Morning all
Hope you all had a goodish night.
Toni, you are a gem, the place looks and smells lovely. And it goes without saying, my fingers are well and truly crossed for your Lucy.
Barbara, I hope you managed a goodish night sleep after your news. Make sure you get on that phone first thing Tuesday morn. You need to know.
Well, I am taking H around town today and stopping for coffee and cake of course. Will be worn out after it, but it is worth it. So, am hoping that we have a take out tonight.
In whatever you are doing today, have a good one and I hope you all have the sun as we do here.
See you all later.Karen xx0 -
Morning all,it's been raining here but the sun is trying to come out.
Good luck to Lucy.Wow Toni it sure is smart in here ,we need coasters to put our cups on.Fish for tea with fritters and peas ,parsley sauce for those that want it.hope you all have a good day. Mig0 -
Hope the hairdressing went well for Lucy, Toni. I have thought about training, I always wanted to and now I could fulfill that ambition and save myself a fortune and cut the children's hair myself.
Yes I had the Humira jab before the children came home from school but never got that sleep ( I sat in the sun then went to bed around 7ish, which meant leaving my Son to wreck the kitchen as usual). It is really helping me and I'm much better. Unfortunately the weight has all gone back on but having double cream and choc pudding doesn't help.
Karen I have no idea how you are supposed to have offended me, not seen anything remotely contentious, and anyway I know you well enough.
Poor you Barbara finding out you have chronic kidney disease through the reports and nobody ever telling you. You will have to find out about it and how you can lessen any symptoms.
Ooh yes MR.O. Wimbledon for me too...not a great fan of tennis but its on my bucket list, along with going to Wembley stadium. Catie can bring her own strawberries to share.
Not sure what we are having for tea. Its colder today so might have the chicken pie.
