Catie and Elizabeth, I'm always willing to consider a 'house swap'. It's mayhem around here during that fortnight and it would be good to get away :).
Years ago we decided to take the kids to USA and experience life out there.
We ended up doing a 'house swap' with a really nice family. They had a beautiful home in California - overlooked the beach and was so peaceful. The neighbours were great and seemed to think we needed feeding-up. Wouldn't like to say how many burgers we devoured or how many cakes were eaten :D

    Evening All,

Hubby must be better - he's just made a very large bowl of popcorn. He's got a new popcorn maker as the last one went up in smoke

Barbara, hope you enjoy your curry. If I was nearer I'd be round in a flash - just love curry :). Perhaps Christine is still in Dublin? and Coco hasn't been feeling too well has she?

Toni, how did Lucy get on?

Elizabeth, I've put on a lot of weight too. Just wish there was an easy way for it to disappear :)

MrO....A house swap.... now there's a thought :). We are close to the North Norfolk coast and the Broads - any good? :) Your trip to California sounds amazing.

Hope everyone had a nice day :)

Hi everyone. I came home a few days ago. Keep reading the posts then can't keep my eyes open so haven't posted myself. Had a great time with my grandkids, although I must have eaten something on the second day so was ill that afternoon. I pulled a neck muscle lifting Tyg, my 2 year-old grandson then woke up with a cold a couple of days later. Not to worry, I am feeling better now. We took Tyg to Imaginosity Children's museum for his birthday. It's fantastic. 3 floors of toys, including a supermarket, a garage, cafe, post office, dressing up room (there were lots of little bumble bees and animals wandering around) and lots more. Little Nyv haas started pushing herself backwards (she's 7 months). One day, she gradually pushed herself under the settee. Tyg went over, grabbed her cardi by the shoulders and pulled her back out then went about his business of playing. Ha ha.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Sorry to hear about your kidneys Barbara. Hope you get some answers before your holiday.

Great news about your daughter Toni. My niece started an apprenticeship last year. She loves it.

Mr O, bet you had a great time in California. I love the film The Holiday. They did a house swap. Great idea.

Hope Coco is ok. Sounds as if no-one has seen her.

Don't worry too much about putting weight on Elizabeth. As long as it's helping you to feel better.

Hot chocolate. No cake as I was very good while I was away and am trying to keep it up. Don't know how long that will last though. I'm always popping in and out of the kitchen when I'm at home on my own.

    Welcome home Christine :D

Those gorgeous kids! Tyg sounds very grown-up looking after his baby sister like that :)

Good to hear your neice is enjoying her apprenticeship.

I think you might have to put some crime scene tape over your kitchen door

I quite fancy a game of Xena warrior Princess now you mention gaming Mig. I bought a new copy for Christmas as I used to love playing that game on the PS1 (its that old).

Toni I'm so pleased for your daughter. How exciting!

Oh dear Barbara hope it doesn't cause problems adding another health issue.
Not seen Coco on facebook either. Hope she is okay. It takes a lot to knock her down.

Nice to see you Applerose. Sorry you have been suffering but glad you are better now,

Morning Karen and morning Mr O.

    Having a cuppa,

    Elizabeth

    Hi Everyone :)

Toni, that's such good news about Lucy and I'm really pleased for you all. It's so tough for youngsters at the moment isn't it, so securing a placement is really excellent - well done Lucy :)

Welcome 'home' from me as well Christine. Sounds like you had a lovely time despite the bug and glad you're feeling better :)

My daughter has just split with her 'elusive' boyfriend, so you can imagine what it's like here. She thought the world of him, but sadly I think she was one of many. Anyway, with time I hope she finds someone who is sincere. We never stop worrying about them, do we.

On a brighter note, it's a beautiful day and set to reach 22 would you believe. Hope the sun pays you all a visit :)

    Bye for now :)

    Afternoon all

Yesterday when I said how lovely it was down here.....it turned. But still enjoyed an afternoon out with my H.

Barbara, I can understand that you are still cross. I would be too. And I do hope it wont cost to much extra for you. When do you actually go I have forgotten ???

Toni, congrats to your daughter. Is she excited or scarred, or both. I remember my first Saturday job.

Christine, good to have you back. Glad you had a good time(apart from the tummy bug) and how is your newest gd doing ???

Catie, sorry to hear about your daughter. I do remember those days of the dating game. Would not want to go back to them. As you said, she will get over him and find someone lovely for herself.

Mig, roast dinner, can I come and join you all please. Sounds lovely.

Elizabeth, how are you doing ??? I have a Nintendo DS XL, I have to have the bigger screen, my eyes. I love playing games on that.

Mr O, hope you are having a good day.

If I have missed someone I am so sorry. Not had a good day so far. Neck and back was so painful last night, hardly any sleep.

    Thank you all.

That's a good idea Toni. Think I'll try that.

Barbara, I did actually get home last Monday but by the time I had read a few posts, I was so tired, I left posting till yesterday. Hope you enjoyed the breakfast your GD made for you. How lovely of her do do that.

Oh Catie, It will be difficult for your daughter for a while but I'm sure she will meet someone special one day.

Little Ruby is doing fantastically well, even sleeping from midnight till 5am the other night. She is like a little doll but perfectly formed. I'm amazed every time I look at her.

Been out in the garden most of the day with frequent stops for drink and food. managed to cut back most of the bushes along one side. My neighbours and I have decided we need a new fence so hope to get that done before the bushes grow back.

    Sleep well everyone.

Thanks Toni. I have decided to stay in bed for a while this morning after yesterday. Just popping in to see if the cafe does takeaway breakfasts. Tea and toast with marmalade would be lovely. Hope you enjoy the flower show if you go.

There is a small flower show near me from Saturday till Monday. I wanted to go but they are charging £4.50 entry per day. Last year they charged a couple of pounds but had never charged before as they got their money from rent for the stalls and from the rides. A few people who have been said there weren't many flowers/plants to see, only a couple of rides for the kids (which they charge for) and a few stalls.

Today's job will be to iron the summer clothes I brought down from the loft and washed the other day. And maybe a sit in the garden.

Hope the sun shines for you all today.

Just in case I don't see you again before you go Barbara. Have a great holiday and come back relaxed. I can never understand being able to check-in up to a fortnight before you go on a flight and even check-in to come back again. Isn't the point of checking in to say you are at the airport and ready to travel? And you have to tick a box to say no-one has interfered with your bags. Who knows what will happen in between.

Yep agree with Toni, you want them far away from the bad uns.

My daughter is 9 and a half and has an admirer but he has a dreadful temper and often threatens her (he says things like he'll snap her neck when she gets to school which naturally frightens her) if she upsets him. He's quick to apologies but I am trying to tell her that threats are not on and shows what he will always be like.

Karen Dan has a XL and he uses it a lot. I would play Xena on others Sons PC which he has especially for gaming. But today I plan to sit in the garden and read a book,

    Take care everyone

    Hi Everyone :)

Boy am I tired today.... haven't overdone it  ....probably with all the upset yesterday. I had doubts about the boyfriend from day one, but could never exactly pin down the reason as to why.

Elizabeth, your daughter's 'admirer' sounds very scary, no wonder she becomes
frightened. He sounds like he has one heck of a temper to say things like that

Toni, I hope you make it to the flower show too :)

Barbara, I so hope you will manage to sort your insurance out. Then.... have a wonderful time :D. We will all miss you and your kindness :)

Christine, your little Ruby sounds so lovely and I hope she continues to enjoy her sleep :)

Karen, Mig, Coco and MrO - hope you are all well too :)

The boyfriend sounds like a bit of a bounder and she's better off without him. Catie, I'm sure everything will work out fine in the end :)
