    Evening all

I've had a busy day. Me and hubby decided we could do with a day out. Nothing much, just a drive down to the coast, well Herne Bay to be exact. Not for the sea, but we like the shops down there. We only went into one shop but it was good to get out. Poor hubby is now worn out and already in bed. Don't think I shall be long either.

Mig, I'm glad all went well for you.

Catie, I'll have some cupcakes. And yes, Barbara should be home today. It has gone quickly. I bet it has for her as well.

Barbara, if you do pop in, hope you are well rested. And hope you took plenty of pics for us.

Been really on and off today, weather wise that is. And it is chucking it down now.

    It's april showers in may.

    Hello everyone,

Can I join you please? I haven`t posted for a while, and hadn`t realised that the cafe was being used more frequently now. Nice, friendly place.

So, if it`s OK, I`ll have a hot chocolate, and a kitkat please......Rosie.

    Hello everyone Im back.... :D
Rosie of course you can join us us the more the merrier...
Well I have had a really good time...after all the worrying..I hired a wheelchair and walked with it for a while then hubby pushed me...we were tempted to hire an electric scooter..but I was a bit nervous of running people over..
It was very hot...so we burned...I put sun cream on to late...serve me right...now we are back to the cold...I honestly thought it would be warm now here...I will let this sunshine out of my case for the weekend..
Back in my own bed tonight.... :D but breakfast wont be on the table tomorrow... :(
I will read back and see what you have all been up too...there is duty free in the cupboard ...so help yourself...xxx
    Love

Barbara, lovely to see you back at the cafe again and so pleased you had a good time. You are right, it's pretty chilly at the moment and today a friend called me to say they had a snow shower in yorkshire . Now you've let the sunshine out of your suitcase I'm sure things will change :D.

Welcome to the cafe Rosie, it's lovely that you've joined us :)

Karen, I'm glad you've enjoyed a lovely day out and about :)

Thanks for the cupcakes Catie. I'll have one with a cuppa please.

Welcome home Barbara. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the weather isn't too good here, is it? Hope you've brought back enough sunshine to last for a few days. You could always do what I do and make breakfast and take it back to bed. Not quite the same but I enjoy doing that on a Sunday.

Karen it is good to have a day out, isn't it?

Hi Rosie. Hot chocolate is my favourite.

sorry been AWOL. Had the 48 hour mtx sickness and was unable to do anything but listen to the TV. I'm okay now, its the price you pay I suppose.

so I need to play catch up again.

OH is going to paint our kitchen and then we plan to put in some more cupboards and a breakfast bar but have been unable to find the same kitchen to buy the extra. I really don't want to start again as it will be too costly.

Hoping Barbara had a lovely hols and feels good-as-new.
    Love to you all,

    Elizabeth

    Hello everyone,

What awful weather we are having for May. Overnight, my big side gates have sort of blown through, and broken off one of the hinges, if that makes sense. My fault, I should have put the bolts on when I brought the car in, but I didn`t realise just how strong the winds were.

I`ve been having a read back, and was interested in what happened to you Barbara, regarding your Chronic Kidney Disease, as I had almost exactly the same terrifying experience. I had a TKR six years ago, and when I went for the pre-op stuff, the nurse reading from my notes said she would have to check with the surgeon about my Chronic Kidney Disease. Like you, I was blown away. What kidney disease?? No one had ever said a word, and yet there it was apparently, written down for all to see. I didn`t sleep that night, and was waiting outside my doctor`s surgery first thing the next morning, demanding an appointment.

It seems that years of taking anti-inflammatories had caused my BP to raise - which I did know about, and was on medication for. This, in turn had caused a rise in kidney levels. He assured me that it was not serious, and the actual terminology was rather dramatic - his words. Provided I was monitored every six months, and did not take any more anti-inflammatories, I could expect it to probably stay the same,, or even come down. That was, as I said, six years ago, and it has in fact come down, and I`m still going strong!

Sorry for the long winded post! My main complaint was why the hell wasn`t I told all this at the time. Hope this helps a little......Rosie.

Elizabeth we have changed our kitchen...and like you couldn't match it...so we changed the worktops and doors..it look new..Im very pleased with it...
MrO...yes the waiters were very attentive....
Rosy that is very interesting thankyou...I am going to see my GP tomorrow...he put me back on inflammations without saying a word...I am fuming..to think my holiday insurance would have been void if I hadn't got the letters..kidney disease stage 3....I have been having blood test for raised readings but that is all i knew...
The case is unpacked but not all put away or washed...so I will see you later xx

    Afternoon all

First off, Rosie lovely to see you're joined us. And re you're problem with the kidneys. I know they don't always tell you what's going on. My eldest has aszema (sorry brain dead, can't spell it) But no-one had actually told us. She was diagnosed at 7 years old. Would you believe it.

Barbara, you take you're time in dealing with the washing and putting away. Obviously your hols have done you some real good.

Elizabeth, glad you are feeling a bit better after the injection. It sounds horrible.

I hope everyone has had a good day, or as good as can be.

    Welcome back Rosieglow!!!!

Lovely to see you and yes the café has got far busier of late which is lovely :)

and welcome back Elizabeth. Sorry you have been so rough though :( Blimey you are busy there getting sorted - we had a new kitchen last summer it was a nightmare. I rather like Brbara's idea about changing work surface and doors though....

Welcome home to you Barbara - wang teh washing over here - a015.gif I'm up to date ;)

Let's hope your kidney issue is reversable too like Rosie's.

Hi karen Is it asthma or eczema your eldest has without being told?!!! Shocking both are sort of linked though aren't they???

    Hi Christine

Did you finish the cupcakes - I rather fancy one with my cupa - better not really as dinner is on :?

Hi MrO Got my tickets ready for the French show at Wetherby Saturday and ex MIL is keeping an eye on youngest for me too

    Love all

Toni, I understand house prices have fallen of late and so you may be able to pick up a bargain :). Enjoy your visit :)

Barbara, if your report states stage 3 CKD, then you should be monitored. For example, an annual measurement of haemoglobin, calcium and phosphate.

Catie, has your husband fully recovered now?

    Hi Everyone,

The cafe is buzzing today with all the chat and I'm having a hard job keeping up :).

MrO, yes hubby is fine now and back to work. Thank you for asking :)

Karen, my daughter has had asthma since she was four and hayfever too. This time of year (all the pollen) is really difficult.

Toni, you are getting excited now, I can tell :). I hope you find somewhere really nice :)

Barbara, you sound as if your holiday has done you the world of good - that's great.

    Hi to everyone else :)

Ooh, Barbara, are you hiding one of the waiters in your suitcase? Is that why it took you so long to open it in case he ran away?

Glad you are feeling a bit better Elizabeth. I could really do with a new kitchen but it'll be a while before I can afford it. New tops and doors are a good idea.

Rosie, that wind causes a lot of damage, doesn't it? Hope you get your gate fixed ok.

I'm really surprised the docs don't let people know when there is something wrong. I've always found they tell me if something is wrong with me. I'd be very annoyed if I found out they hadn't. Asthma can be serious if not kept under control. I am always asked by the asthma nurse if I carry an inhaler with me, even though I haven't used this one in years. I would imagine it would be the same for kidney disease. You need to know you've got it.

Oops, Toni. Sorry, did I eat the last cupcake? I only had one.

    Hehehe!!

    h040.gif
Don't tell Christine anyone I finished the cakes

My poor ex SIL has accidentally taken a kitten it who is PREGNANT!! She is allergic to them, Catie and will have to use an inhaler while she is there as well as antihistamines :? asthma is scary if it's not controlled isn't iT Karen you will know that too - spelling was mine too, but I make so many typos you wouldn't belive me

Hopefully cat's protecton will help rehome them as soon as poss :?

MrO I hope you're right about a bargain. I have found an online forums so am learning more and more.

    Love

    Happy birthday Barbara,

sorry got laptop problems again. This is the only one working now but gets hot and cuts out. Not sure how I will manage when the kids get home as they can't live without their online games. My eldest Sons pc is okay but that is his pride and joy and we never go near it. I can see some tetchy children and lots of 'I'm bored'. Of course I tell my daughter read a book but she says that boring too

    Wish me luck!!!!
