    Hang on Christine.....

    c085.gif

    yep plenty of clotted

Barbara - we built a fruit cage for baby birdies here - last year Daisycat was catching up to 4 a DAY and the baby robbins (who learn to fly from the ground) were sitting ducks. It's bit enough for them to pratcise inside.

Guess what? No birds caught yet!!

Elizabeth it was almost worth burning your shoulder you know - it's done nothing but rain since so you made the most of it ;)

    Hi Karen

I am not too bad thanks just very very stressed......

Lucy the youngest is at teh under 16s disco in Stafford for the first time(Joey Essex off TOWIE supposed to be there  ). If you remember she has epilepsy and they have strobes  .

Nan is outside just now and i am off up in about 10 mins. We are sitting outside stressing with emergency meds in our handbags

Love to you all and so sorry if I missed anyone

A Presentation Ceremony was held at our school for a doctor who had served for 25 years. I was about 12 and can remember to this day, the words he spoke. He said that in all the years he had worked as doctor to the school he had always been treated with courtesy and respect. That it was important to 'hold' on to those values and take them forward in life. Those words struck me today as I read through this thread. Barbara, Catie, Christine and Toni - your posts are always so kind, even when others fail to acknowledge you - courtsey and respect are always afforded to each and everyone who posts - well done to you :). Perhaps the rest of us have a lesson or two to learn

    Hello everyone,

Hope you`re all as well as possible.

I`ll have a hot chocolate, and, if it`s calorie free, a piece of cake.....any cake, I ain`t fussy.

I took my oldest friend out for lunch yesterday, for her birthday, She chose the restaurant, one I had never been to before. It`s famous for it`s desserts, and I have honestly never seen anything like them. All fabulous concoctions, about 18 inches high, and the slices were enormous. Or there was an eclair with Belgian chocolate, oozing fresh cream, the size of a bloomer. I thought they would slice it up, but no.....you got the whole lot. I did indulge, so today I`m fasting. I have lost over four stones in the last year, and am anxious not to put it back on. Maintaining can be harder than actually losing! Fortunately, they gave us a little container to bring home what we couldn`t manage. I gave it to my neighbour, or I would have been tempted all over again. I don`t think I`ll go there again.......Rosie.

    Evening all

Our internet didn't want to work till this afternoon.

I hope you all have had a good day. The weather though has been awful again. Can't believe how fast this week is going.

Barbara, what is happening about you're injections. Or am I doing my imaginary bit again.

Coco, I do hope things are starting to improve for you're son. I know how hard it must be on you as well. Sending you and him some big hugs of comfort.

Mr.O, did you have a good time over in France with you're son. Hope the weather was kinder to you over there.

To everyone else who pops in, hope you are okish and the rain hasn't ruined anything you were going to do.

Rosie, over 4 stone. Wow, really good going. And did you get a doggy bag when you left. It sounds wonderful. I have a very sweet tooth I'm afraid.

    Glad you enjoyed it.

    Hi Everyone

Mig I love mushroom risotto - that sounded loverly

Barbara we bought the fruit cage off *bay it's about 2m high (plenty of height to practise flying and about the same length about 1m width. It came with mesh, but we bought some plastic mesh safer for birdies feet :D We buried it a bit and checked Daisycat's paws can't get through  I made a wee 'nest' with grass in a sideways plant pot. You know I am so GLAD I haven't needed it :D

MrO you are a sweetie. I hope you had a great time in France? We are going over 14th-16th to view some properties - I am so exited!!

Karen - been vile here too rained almost non-stop, but the sun is out now :) Yippee!! Hope your computer stays online for you now

Rosieglow - we do indeed have calorie-free cake and hot chocolate too even the Cornish clotted is calorie free  . 4 stone is an amazing loss  I do hope you feel better for it?

Hope everyone else is ok :?

    Love

    Tonixxx

Oooops! I forgot to say Lucy was absolutely fine thansk Barbara and anyone else who asked after her. The strobes luckily did not bring on a seizure - phew!!! :D

Hope you can see it Barbara. In the shrub to the left (far more leafy now (wigelia) is a robins nest :D you can see it to the top left corner. We can 'get in a 'door' secured by garden clips like bulldog clips??

Good luck do let me know how you get on

Toni, that looks a bit like the one my son built last year but his was to keep the birds off his fruit. Didn't work. Think the mesh wasn't fine enough. Glad Lucy enjoyed the disco.

Barbara, I hate people knocking on my door or phoning me trying to sell things. If I want those things, I'll ring them.

Thank you Mr O. That is kind of you to say that. Hope you had a good holiday.

Rosie, all the food and drink in the cafe is calorie free. Eat and drink as much as you want. :D Well done on losing all that weight. That's fantastic. And well done on giving your neighbour what was left of your dessert. Don't think I could have done that.

I think the weather is set to improve over the weekend so, hopefully, no rain for a while. Sleep well everyone.

    A quick Good Morning :)

I meant what I said with sincerity :) and thank you for asking about our break. We had a wonderful time and there was much excitement as my daughter-in- law is expecting a baby in September :). Our family is growing rapidly as our other son and his wife had twin boys last July. Their mum has suffered from RA since a child and has struggled quite a bit since giving birth.

Toni, I wish you well with your French Property. Which part are you focused on?

Wishing everyone else all the best :)

    Hi Everyone :)

I thought I had been banned from this site as I haven't been able to log in for days  . Every other site I used was ok though

Nice to see you back posting MrO and pleased you had a lovely break. What wonderful family news. I do hope everything goes well for your son and his wife in September. Gosh, twins....how lovely. Are they boys or girls or one of each? I really feel for your d-i-l though if she has RA.

We had a lovely break with my sister, but arrived home to ...the Gas Bill    . Gosh, I know it was a cold winter, but how can those prices be justified  . Guess we will have to order a Damart Catalogue for a supply of Thermals :lol::lol:

I haven't been able to read through all the posts because of problems with the site, but hope everyone is ok :)

Catie sorry you couldn't get on I thought you were enjoying catching up with your sister... :D
Gas bills..its outrageous how the government can let these firms make so much money out of us...there are people sitting in library's and cafe in winter to save putting there heating on... it leaves me fuming to think that people are going cold in there own homes ..sorry I have gone into a rant there..
Its a lovely day here...all the little birdies are singing...so I am sat in the garden with a cuppa... :D
Hope you all have the sun...

Hokaaaay.....as everything is all calorie free - thanks Christine! - I`m going to have one of Toni`s caramel coffees, with some sticky toffee pudding, drowning in salted caramel ice cream....I luv caramel, can you tell?

I agree with Mr O regarding how kind everyone is on this thread. Nice, calm little oasis....ooh, I`m waxing lyrical now.

Mr O, you are going to welcome your new grandbaby just weeks before I meet my two, in October. Isn`t it exciting?......Rosie.

    Evening all

I'm late, thought I had already posted.

Barbara, glad you had a good day in the garden. Do you still have you're little birdy ??. My SIL has been looking after a Bird, where she works and now lives. Last night she left it out, but far away from any cats and such.

Rosie, I love anything with chocolate. I'm a b**ger for it.

Catie, glad you have managed to get back on. Lets hope you can keep getting on.

Mr.O, what exciting news. Another Grandchild to look forward to.

To everyone else as I am feeling brain dead, hope you have had a good day with plenty of sunshine.

The sun has shone thank you lovely :) Don't worry about being brain dead  we like you just the way you are

I have been trapped in a bit trying to sort out student finace online (and on telephone too  28 mins in queue the FIRST time......)

MrO another Grandbaby Yippee!! Rosieglow is having hers around that time so we will all get totally exited for you both. I am so sorry your other DIL has RA and things have een bad since the boys were born. This is often the way isn't it? Grrrrr!!! Mkaes me cross, but I am sure she would NEVER regret having them :)

Now I am happy to anywhere in FRance but husband is a wee bit afreaid so likely to the the Dordogne :D

Hi Barbara - glad you can see the piccie a bit better. It is a fruit cage as Christine said, but adapted for the wee birdies. Not right is it your OH has to work past retirement age :( We might just do that - run away to France ;)

Glad you have sun it Nottingham mig....l love Nottingham. I volunteered there for many years in my (misplaced) youth

Hi Catie!! Glad you had a good break with your sis, but sorry you have come home to such a dreadful bill

You know the other day I couldn't get on the forum either for at least an hour or so.....glad it maybe wasn't me.

One caramel macchiato for Rosieglow and bubbas (it is slightly salted caramel Rosie ;) This thread is an oasis yes....nice people :)

Barbara, I agree, it's so sad when some people have to leave their homes to seek out warmth because they can't afford to put the heating on. Sadly, it will get worse won't it because fuel bills are set to rise again (very steeply) over the coming years :(

MrO, sorry, I see you mentioned the twins were boys. Are they identical?

Toni, that's a lovely area to be looking for a property. I expect you speak French well as your mum was French?

Hello to Karen, Rosie, Mig and everyone who pops in :)
