Catie, yes I do manage the garden myself. I've been here for nearly 20 years and always done it myself. I have had to get my son to cut the leylandii hedge down a bit and recently a fir tree in the back garden. I'm now thinking I may have to alter a few things to make it easier but I love my garden.

Mig, hope your delivery was early. I hate hanging around for things to arrive.

Sorry about your wrists Barbara. Hope the splints help. Sounds as if your GD will be crawling properly shortly. I know all about moving things. I move all my ornaments, plants etc before my GC arrive then have to put them all back when they go. My daughter's 9 month old is now walking around the furniture.

Toni, cup cakes and cheesy mash? You must have been hungry. I think you are in love with the kitties. They sound adorable.

Well I wont be going anywhere in this weather...I hope some of you have the sun....if you have send me some please
Not seen our Karen around..or Coco just want them to know I am thinking of you

    Morning Barbara and everyone :)

Hope the plasterers have done a good job Barbara. I always think they make it look easy, but there's a lot of skill involved of course. It's 'black as your hat' here and I'm hoping it doesn't rain 'til the window man has been. We're having a large window in the kitchen replaced and he's coming to measure up.

Christine, I think you do really well coping with the garden on your own. I know what you mean about making changes to make things easier. We're in the process of making some raised beds so we don't have to bend so far. It isn't a problem for hubby at the moment, but who knows what the future will hold.

Toni, I just love the sound of a contented cat with her kittens - it's so special. Are you kitten proof for when they start to move around? :)

Coco, Karen, mig, Elizabeth, and everyone who pops in - hope you're all ok :)

Mr O I'm off meds ATM. My rheummy nurse seems to think I have a chest infection and sent me for an xray and phoned up to cancel my humira delivery. It was such a lovely, sunny day and I don't get to see my big girls that often although my eldest might be staying if she gets her BBC radio placement in London.

I've been to my art class today. I love it. I wish I was able to make some money out of it.

Anyone seen Karen C. She must have a lot on at home. Hope everything is okay?

Hi E - It is lovely seeing your big girls I do hope the chest infection gets better soon :? My sister has sold some of her paintings you know.....one was on my fbook page did you see it?

I have noticed the absence of karenC too :? and Coco and Roses1 and Rosieglow too :? Hope everyone is ok :?

Catie - the kittens are all 'proofed' ready they are in a dog cage with an 'extension' for them - high sided box so Mum can get in and out for some peace too and

Christine I do love those kitties. Shame Daisycat won't let me have them ALL  It's wise to let others help you with your garden and having the hedges trimmed is a good thing.

Barbara - we have had dreadful rain too - lashing down and thunder and it's so muggy!

Yes Cris' place is idyllic in a sense. No nasty emotional demands....they just want to be fed and loved. Hope you are now well and truly plastered!!!

Love to everyone I hope I didn't miss anyone

Goodness sometimes it feels as if I'm walking on eggshells when I post in the cafe :o . Elizabeth, my remark wasn't meant to offend. However, withdrawing medication because the nurse 'thinks' you may have a chest infection really surprises me :o. Doesn't take long to ascertain whether a chest infection is present or not. Perhaps the nurse should have consulted with the doctor first :o

Toni, sounds as if you're really organised with the kittens. When our cat had kittens 20 odd years ago, I remember it was absolutely havoc

Barbara, the chap just came to measure up. I was shocked at the price... I know it's a large window....but £600  Ha, we will be getting more quotes.

MrO, hope you don't mind me saying, but you sound really stressed today. I think sometimes what we write and how it's taken isn't as was intended - if that makes sense :)

No rain here to speak of, but the gardens could do with it.

I didn't think you were trying to offend and can't see how my reply led you to think I did! The perils of internet conversation methinks.

I've had a lot of recurring chest infections so I think she was playing safe but I did think she was over reacting, especially as I have been a lot worse in the previous few months and thought It was clearing up.

Toni I will have a look on your page and look for your sister's painting,

7.45 Barbara? That was a bit early but I guess, as you say, better to get it done early rather than late. Didn't get in the garden today. Partly because of the rain and partly because everything was pinging like crazy after work so just sat all evening with my feet up. We used to have a holiday cottage next to a farm and would take the kids up to help muck out the cows and to bring in the lambs the morning after they were born. I loved it.

Catie, you're right about there being a skill in plastering. I plastered my bathroom thinking it would be so easy. Ahem, it's not. There are lots of bumps and ridges. Tried going over and over but just made it worse.

Elizabeth, hope you don't have a chest infection. Your eldest is hoping for a BBC radio placement? What will she be doing? I know someone who has been painting pictures for quite a few years and has only just started selling them so you might make money from your pictures one day.

Toni, that's a good idea to limit where the kitties can get to. You don't want them to be scampering up your curtains.

Catie, I got a fairly large window and a small window for £550. That was with a discount as I knew the chap's brother.

I think Catie and Elizabeth are right Mr O. I don't think you need to feel you are walking on eggshells or that anyone is offended by anything you say. Sometimes when things are written, they can be taken the wrong way.

Thanks for the hot chocolate Mig. Hope you catch up on your sleep.

    Morning Everyone :)

Lots of sun today which is lovely.

Crikey Christine, I wouldn't know where to begin with plastering, but I can imagine the mess which would be created :)

Mig, that sounds nice for Father's Day. I quite fancy some beef this weekend too. Hubby loves cheesecake and so will treat him to some as well.

Elizabeth, I worked for the BBC (self employed basis) some years ago and found them very slow in making payments. Hope your daughter is based in London so she can visit more.

MrO, I hope you continue posting :)

Now Barbara has disappeared. Where is everyone?

I am not stressed at all - that was Catie's theory :). I have OA in my spine which doesn't stop me from doing too much - despite having had three operations. Lucky? No, I think I'm rather like you and just make the best of what life throws at me. My daughter in law has had RA since a child and she's the same :).

Like the others have said things don't always come across like they should, I think Catie was worried...and Elizabeth was telling it how it is.. like you do...I don't mind this much better than talking behind my back... :D
Last year we had a lot of trouble on the forum that led to people leaving or being banned...so I do think we are still suspicious of people..am I making sense or am I rambling again... :o:lol:
Oh forgot to say I am sorry you have arthritis of the spine..have you ever had the facet joints injections...I am due to have some more before my first THR and also an epidural...I think  my others didn't work..but never say die...

    Hello Everyone :)

I hope you are all ok?

I hope you found my sister's painting Elizabeth - if not I can take a photo and post it here.

I am glad everyone has been able to talk about misunderstandings unlike the problems last year eh Barbara? People didn't 'get' each other and gosh it was awful wasn't it at times so sad.

An updated kitten piccie for all kitten lovers on hereth_kittiesandcows026.jpg

and a 'calf' piccie too....my friend is 'cow sitting' ATM  REALLY!!

    th_kittiesandcows012.jpg

That's why I am so late on I have been over there today. Like being at Cris' for those who remember her. For those who don't she was a character on here - she was the originator of 'cuddles' the café cat and Our forum cow as well as 'pocket duties' when we metaphorically support each other to hospital appointments etc.

Glad daughter is doing father's day cooking mig - sounds a fair deal to me ;)

Christine - kids love MUCK don't they? My step-daughter is off to spend a week with Cris soon to help her with a project and get experience as she wants to work with animals

Catie we had more rain showers and heavy ones at that ::) Ooh! you worked for the BBC too - impressive :)

Oh Barbara your youngest son's 1st ever Father's day :D Bless his heart.

MrO I hope you will be remembered...I suspect so with Grandkids etc :) have no Dad, sadly, but have sorted out something for my Ex FIL (kids Granddad) and their Father too....not that he reciprocates

    Take care everyone

    I like coming in here

    love

    Toni xx

Catie, plastering messy? Noooo, well maybe a bit. Well maybe quite a lot. When I'm doing it anyway.

Barbara, yes our little cottage was lovely. We spent every weekend and every school holiday there. Lots of long walks in the country and through the forests. Alas it is no longer there. You made me giggle telling us about your husband in and out of the garden.

Mr O, sorry you have OA in your spine but it's good you get on the best you can. Same with your daughter-in-law.

I can't remember when I joined up here but I can't remember any trouble so I guess I missed it. It makes it very unpleasant for everyone when that happens. I think everyone seems very nice in here.

Toni, how sweet the kittens are. Mum looks so proud. And your friend is cow sitting. Wow, I'd love to cow sit. Hope your daughter has a great time at Cris's.

Why is it that when you are just sitting quietly reading, a fingerprint suddenly pops up on your reading glasses? I swear I didn't touch them.

Hope everyone has a good weekend with some sunshine.

I wonder who it might be

    a070.gif there that's better

Actually I sat on mine yesterday so finger-prints are the least of my worries

I Hope you get some sunshine too - here we have had rain and plenty of it overnight so surely my water butts are full by now???

Coffee on - caramel macchiatos all round?

MrO sorry to here you have had ops on your back..that is the part I dread...will see if the next lot of injections work....
Toni what lovely pics...the kittens and mum look so content... :D and I must say I have a soft spot for cows...they all have different characters..did you drive all the way to our Crises...mind you I am not sure where you live... :?
Christine I will tell you a funny story about glasses..it was my GDs great Grandma..there mums grandma...she kept saying she was losing her site in one eye...till the girls saw she had a bake bean stuck to her glasses.... mind you her eyes must have been bad not seeing that..
The sun is out for the min...but it keeps going dark...
Still thinking about Karen and Coco...
I hope you all have a goodish day...will see you later...xxxxxx

    Morning Everyone :)

We have thunder, lightening and the wind is so strong - can't believe it's the middle of June :o

Barbara, I think you are very wise in getting three quotes for jobs that need doing. We've now organised a couple more for the window. At £600 for a window the mind boggles at what the house would cost
The story about the baked bean made me laugh :lol::lol:

Toni, my sister is married to a farmer. They used to have a big dairy herd and I used to like helping when we stayed. Sadly, there was more money in beef and so the dairy herd went.

Christine you are right about finger prints on glasses :). I also get frustrated at never being able to find mine :)

MrO, sorry about your OA. I've got to have an op on my neck and am dreading it. I have to see my Consultant at the end of the month and am dreading that too. The only blessing is that he's rather dishy :lol:

I was also surprised to hear there was trouble on this forum as everyone is so nice -such a shame when people can't get along.
