Morning all

Did anyone manage any sleep last night. Boy, it was so hot. And still hot today. Don't get me wrong, I love hot weather, always used to anyway. But, now my body does not appreciate the heat. How about everyone else.

Toni, thanks for the vimto. I do so love it. And have a lovely day out with hubby.

I am not doing much today, the final starts at 2pm, and shall be in the bedroom watching it. (Tony wont watch it)

Karen, glad you are feeling better. I know what you mean about not knowing your limits. I just keep going till I hit a brick wall. No, I didn't get much sleep. Way too hot even with the window open. Still feels too warm tonight again.

Elizabeth, yes don't we just know about all the hassle it causes. Although, the kids' dad wants residency, I can't see how that can happen if they have hardly seen him in the last 2 years. Hope you got your trouser hems sewn and enjoyed reading your book. I only manage 1 chapter at a time. I recently bought an e-reader and downloaded a book from the library. I'd only read a couple of chapters and it was returned. Can't find it again.

Went to see the GC today. The pool was up and it was full of kids. They were in there for hours and had such a great time.

When is Barbara back? Hope she enjoyed herself.

I have a my tax credit info/ bank statements to hand but I am not going to start it until tomorrow, fresh and awake I hope.

Your ex is probably looking to make life difficult Applerose. Mine couldn't bury me under the patio so this was the next best thing. I wish these blokes woulsd do nice things for the family instead causing hassle and worry and expense.
I actually went to party yesterday! Albeit a kids party but there were adults there to talk to. I only got told it was a kids party on Thurs and then had to ask OH if any Aunts and Uncles were going because he is happy to assume things. So he took our Son for a walk and I just sat and talked. If I told you I hadn't been to a party since Sept you will understand how nice it was! And also have another BBQ this Sat and OH is babysitting!!!!

Barbara should be back today. She has her op this week.

Hello all Im back and we have had a lovely time ...very hot.. see I told you all when I have my THR we will have an heatwave :roll: I have read back and see that Christine's son didnt get his job, but the same here I believe its for a reason
And H is getting ready for college...

While away I got a call off my consultants secretary...Friday just has we had landed...and she say he wants me in earlier than 10 30 for an Xray...she didn't have a clue why...very strange...
I will now go and get a cuppa and water my garden....

Mig, a sparrow with blue feet, that I would love to see. You will have to take a picture. I do admire you doing all this painting in this heat though. I a finding it hard going myself.

By the time I got the camera it had flown away.wasn't too hot in our garden this afternoon,hubby moved the bird table into the shade where there was a bit of a breeze so it was ok,he was on tea making duties.
Hope the breeze lasts ,last night was horrid.
Glad you had a good time,op will be fine ,are you packed yet ,got plenty of nibbles for pocket duties will try not to make too much noise.Mig

Hi Elizabeth. It's not my ex that's the problem. (Well he is just one big problem but not with this ) It's my daughter-in-law's ex and it's her children who don't want to see their dad. You're right. All he needs to do is be nice to the kids and the problem's solved. I know what you mean about the party. I found myself on my own yesterday and really wanted to have someone to chat to. Eventually got a reply from my son that they were at home so went up there to find hundreds of kids throwing themselves about in the pool. Enjoy your bbq on Saturday.

Hi Barbara. Glad you had such a good time and hope you were able to forget the op for a while. Would they not normally take an xray before this sort of op so they can see how things are? Would you like to come and water my garden please? Can't use my hose at the moment so have to keep wandering in and out with the watering can.

Mig, you have been busy. I'm just picturing all the twitchers with their cameras taking pictures of the rare blue-footed sparrow.

A heatwave will be fine - we had one for my back surgery 2003?? got to 100 deg?? It's fine because you are resting and sleeping a lot anyway.

I rather like Eilzabeth's phrase that your ex couldn't bury you under the patio very witty!! Not legally anyway. You got the last laugh and Applerose so will your daughter in law - the love of the kids

I have it now too.....after years of stress and anxiety.

mig we have a breeze too and have had windows open all day and the fan is on cold flannel at the ready so fingers crossed for a better night tonight eh Shame you missed the birdie - better luck next time eh? I bet he wont go out till his feet are 'normal again'

Karen I am glad you like your vimto - hey I remember going through a phase of drinking it will of all things, GIN in it in my youth :oops:

Christine we went to a place called Colwich and Great and Little Haywood in staffs. It was lovely. Glad you had such a lovely time with the GCs in the pool. Kids are great aren't they?

Just had my hair cut...and boy did it need it... :shock: so my bag is packed...they have rang this morning from the hossie to see if any thing has changed...so I am ready has I ever will be.... :shock:
hubby is fitting my toilet and frame...and I am cleaning the house not that it wont want doing when I get home.....but he can do it then ...any excuse..

Lovely to have you back Barbara and so glad you had such a lovely time. You were right about the heatwave. I had my THR in July but actually it is nice for recovery. Who wants to be shivering with all that going on?

Yep Toni I got the last laugh all round. He had lots of money but I don't miss it at all. I'm glad you are happy now after years of stress and anxieties.

I have had a welcome sleep this morning but had to get up and order some birthday presents for my Niece and Lucy needs new trousers as she has outgrown them all so been looking in the online sales.

Sounds a lovely colour Mig but hope the poor Sparrows haven't got it on their feet!

Karen I'm finding the heat a bit much too.

A quick one I am sat here with a cup of tea and had toast...I rang the ward last night and they said tea and toast before 6.30....I dont eat in a morning but I have got it down has its an afternoon op...I wont get anything till tonight or tomorrow...mind you sure I wont feel like eating... :roll:

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all as well as can be expected.

Sorry I have been awol, but I am in hospital, have been for the last four weeks, and likely to be for another couple of weeks.

I developed an infection of the blood, and an infection of the discs around the base of my spine. I already have Arthur there, so a double whammy. As a result, I couldn`t walk. Pain was absolutely awful, although now mostly under control with uber strength drugs.

I have had every scan/test/ultra sound etc in an effort to find out how this all happened, but everything is clear. The doctors are calling me Mrs Mystery. Good to have a very thorough, successful MOT though. I think there`s only me feet they haven`t scanned!!

The blood infection has now cleared, so it`s all about hammering the disc infection with the AB`s, and then I`m hoping to attend a new Rehabilitation Centre to help with getting my walking sorted.

I`m lucky to have a private room, with en suite - on the NHS!! - and my son has fixed me up with all manner of technology, so that I can at least keep in touch with the outside world.

Sorry for the long post, I hope I haven`t bored you all. Hoping to be able to keep up with everyone, but I do get tired very easily.......Rosie.x.
