    Hi All

Mig that coach trip sounds lovely I think Scotland is beautiful :) Only ham sandwiches today? :?

Barbara it is scary waiting for Lucy and worrying with my syringe full of midazolam just incase, but she has done it 3 times now so I am starting to believe she will be ok.

I hope you have a nice time at that cash and carry. Some crafty stuff eh? enjoy yourself

Maria It's lovely to see you again in the café yes poor catie has had a rough time hasn't she?

Christine they are going to remove the eye thingy - they wanted to do it under local  but agreed to a general in the end

Some times it is too late to post or we are too tired - not to worry - so long as we are all ok....that's the main thing

    Love to everyone I missed

(keep on getting better catie :) )

Hi Maria. Nice to see you in here.

Barbara, I'm sure it won't be much longer before you can sleep on your side. I get Saturday and Sunday off and another 2 half days. Hope you had a good day out. Do you do crafts yourself? I like looking round craft shops and would like to do a craft but never seem to get round to it. I've collected a lot of things to make my own greetings cards but not done anything with them. Well apart from the Xmas card I made my daughter and her husband a couple of years ago. It looked as if a 5 year old had made it.

Mig, that sounds like a lovely holiday. Scotland is a lovely place.

Toni, it does sound as if Lucy will be ok now but it doesn't stop you worrying, does it? I think recovery is quicker with a local anaesthetic but I certainly wouldn't want them doing anything to my eye while I was awake. What a lovely kitty. Glad you got them all good homes.

My son came round today and emptied everything out of my shed and cleaned it out while I decided what to keep and what to throw out. It's almost empty now. Couldn't get through the door before.

My daughter and her husband and the kids went off to Spain today. When I go, I need to catch a train from Malaga airport but I can't remember which side of the platform I need to be on. Just hope someone's there to meet me. :?

    Sleep well everyone.

    Afternoon all

I know I have missed quite a lot. Christine, when are you going. And I am the same, I hate trains at the best of times, so good for you.

Toni, I am so pleased that your daughter had a good time and that no problems arose. But poor girl, I would be the same I cant stand the thought of anyone touching my eyes. Hope everything goes well for her. It is a worry isn't it being a parent.

Barbara, wont be to long now surely. Hope you enjoyed your visit to that craft centre. Did you end up buying anything.

Of course, I hope Catie is now recovering well.

H's enrolment went very well. But nothing to what I expected. My knee had enough time in the day to feel loads better. But, we were up and down and up and down. They did let me use the lifts. At the last stage, we had to sit in chairs and every time someone had their pic don for their badge, we would have to move up one. To H's dislike I had to give up on the up and down on chairs.

I spent yesterday recovering. But she is now really happy and says she is now looking forward to starting.

Hope everyone has a good day, the weather is lovely down here again. Cant believe it is September nearly.

Thanks Mig. Think I've missed breakfast but I might have some eggs and bacon for supper.

Barbara, cats do seem to change their minds about where they live, don't they? A friend of mine lost her cat that way. Did you see the programme where they put cameras round a few cats' necks and videoed where they went? Some of them were going in to other houses and eating other cats' food. It was really interesting. It is difficult to get the babies to keep their shoes on, isn't it? And quite a few of them have their own ways of getting around but they all walk eventually.

Toni, I usually empty and clean the sheds once a year but didn't get it done last year so I feel so much better now.

Karen, that does sound like a very long day. Not surprised you had to give up on the chairs. Glad H is looking forward to going now.

I said last night that my daughter and her husband went to Spain yesterday. It was actually today. My sil drove them to the airport and as they were taking the luggage out, realised they had left a bag so my sil drove home, left the car and took the bus back to the airport, a 1 and half round trip. He still had time to spare. That is very typical of them. About 6 years ago, they flew to SE Asia then backpacked round there, Australia, New Zealand then flew to New York and backpacked up to Canada then flew home. Every time they flew, they got to the airport with minutes to spare. I am always at least an hour early to allow for hold-ups and am on edge till they get to where they are going.

I am off over there a week on Monday. I've printed the boarding pass to get there but have run out of ink to print the pass to get back. Went in to town to the shop I usually get the inks from but couldn't remember the type of printer. I'll need to try and get back sometime after work this week.

When I left the house this morning, the sun was shining. By the time I got my sunglasses out and put them on, the sun had disappeared behind the clouds. So it's been overcast all day, cool but it didn't rain.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Hope Catie is improving.

Please don't forget your INK!!! You have to be able to get home

It is nice to have a tidy shed. We have 3 and one has a large wasps nest in it :?

Karen - I don't think my kids like it if I draw any attention to them either :? when they were younger (primary) they used to be proud of me  I am glad you survived and that it is what she wants too :)

Being a Mum is HARD yes :(

Barbara the baby sounds adorable the way she gets about :) but I am sure she would like watching a kitten too :? (bad Toni  ) Cris is about to have a new puppy!!

Get well wishes still on way to Catie

Toni, not good having a wasps nest. Can't remember if I mentioned it but the week before last, I was upstairs at work and it sounded as if it was raining but, when I looked outside, it was dry. I told my boss's wife as a few years ago, while they were all on holiday, I checked the bedrooms and found the ceiling in one was on the floor. Apparently, there had been a leak from the water tank. What a mess. Anyway, I thought the same thing was happening again. My boss's wife asked one of her teenage sons to go up and have a look. No way, he said. I remember when we had rats up there. I tried to get him to go up, saying the rats would run away. No way was he going up there though. Turns out, it was actually a huge wasps nest. The noise was the wasps gnawing the wood to line the nest. My GD went with her mum to see the One Direction film. My GD loved it. DIL nearly fell asleep.

Mmmm, cheesy mash sounds delicious Mig. Sorry but I can't remember where and when are you off on your holiday. Must be soon if you're getting your hair done.

Barbara, I have a choice of getting to the airport an hour and a quarter early or 2 and a quarter hours early. I'm going 2 and a quarter hours before the gate closes. Mainly because I have noticed that every day this last week, there has been a train in our area delayed by quite a bit or a line closed so I'm worrying about that. I've downloaded both passes, just didn't have enough in to do both. Hoping to get that on Tuesday as well as going to one of the bigger stations to pick up my train tickets. Perhaps you could get some cows and sheep to keep the grass down in the farmer's field so you don't lose the puppy in the long grass. It's about another 16 weeks till Xmas but it'll be another 8 before I start thinking about it.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Christine, I think you are very brave. Although on saying that I did once go to Portugal on my own. And boy was I spoilt. When do you go.

To everyone else I have not mentioned. Sending out some hugs.

Enjoy your hols all you lucky people.

I think my daughter is in Scotland judging by her facebook photos. She starts her new job early Sept so probably rushed off for a few days while she could.

Same here Barbara last day with everyone at home although its staggered returns. Lu has gone to the cinema leaving this laptop free so I'm having a catch up. So much news so will never remember everything so forgive me if I miss anything.

Glad H is looking forward to college but sorry to read you had to test that bad knee so much.Do you have sticks?

Only discovered my wasps nest when I mowed the lawn(in the days when I could do these things) as the grass cuttings disturbed them.Big worry aren't they and have to removed professionally.

Have vowed never to have a kitten until we move somewhere quiet.Give my love to Cris and the new puppy. Where did she get this one from?

My appointment at hospital was because my knee and ankle were bad but they think it is made worse by the shorter right leg after a THR so have given me some insole for the right foot and it has helped especially stopped the dreadful cramp I was getting each night. The letter was stuck on the wall so should have got the date right but just thought Tues was Wednesday as you do during the Summer hols.

Haven't started with bedroom 2 but we need to get a move on though as OH is not comfy. My room also needs decorating as eldest Son will be away early Oct we plan to clear mine and use his room. However not sure if my daughter and her boyfriend will need to stay if they haven't found anywhere in London as they have given up the old flat. :? We'll get there in the end. I'm just glad things are getting done unlike the patio/decking and the attic space which just disappeared from conversation.

Oh Christine fancy them leaving behind a bag. How did they manage that? i know OH Dad dropped his passport at home before a hols and that was a palavar getting a courier to deliver it before their plane left!!!

Sons birthday needs sorting. Haven't a clue what to buy. Maybe an I pad but he seems content with the laptop? I shouldn't buy something just for the sake of it.He loves the musical cats so might get him a T shirt and have sorted a trip on a canal boat at the end of the month but have no other ideas as haven't been able to look.Maybe I'd better sign off and get looking? Editing stuff for his videos might be something he'd like?

Best wishes to Catie and Coco and hope you are both okay.

    all the best Exx

    Hi Everyone

    Elizabeth

editing gear sounds a great idea for your son. I agree no point spending money for the sake of it :?

I am very impressed with what you have managed this year - you ought to be proud of yourselves. Keep going as you are it will be a different place by Christmas

I must say though I used to LIKE it if my kids' Dad was on the sofa  Bad Toni

Cris' foster daughter (grown up now), found the pup for her Elizabeth it's a wee girl. You are wise to wait until you live in a quiet area safety first. I will give her your love.

I am so pleased a simple thing like an insole might have helped you so much :)

    Karen

You were brave too going on holiday on your own - sounds like it paid off though.

We have glorious sunshine here too (well not now it's gone in/down.

I have been sorting out school uniform

    Mig

Oddly enough some parts of Scotland have had it quite nice you know. The scenery will make up for any les than hot weather. That and the haggis tatties and neeps etc. Suggest that you leave your bikini at home???

    Barbara

I'm not really into One Direction, but their music is upbeat so good in one sense. Lucy also likes Justin beiber

I hope the girls are ready for school and happy to go back in tomorrow bless them :? We have a couple more days to go.

Nice to have the fire lit Colin Just watch what you might find in those embers

    Gosh Christine

Your wasp story is scary  They are scary aren't they? gnawing at the wood :? Yuk!

DIL fell asleep did she but so long as the kids are happy we are happy :)

16 weeks till Christmas is it? Rightyho....better start getting my act together methinks :|

I agree with you it's wise to be earlier rather than later so get the earlier train :)

Love to everyone and hope Catie is still going the right way.

No wonder it was a bit nippy in here Colin. You were in here at midnight. Could you not sleep?

Barbara, you are welcome to come along. Don't forget your bikini.

Karen, I go next Monday. I've travelled on my own quite a few times now to Dublin and Spain so I'm used to it now although I still worry until I arrive.

Mig, I remember now you saying you are going to Scotland. Hope you have a lovely time and the weather holds up for you.

Elizabeth, I can't remember everything I read, especially if I miss a day, so don't worry. Glad the insole has helped. I know what you mean about getting the days mixed up. I think the days run in to each other during the holidays, don't they? You'll get the decorating done eventually. Slow and steady. Guess my daughter and her husband left the bag because I know they would have taken a lot as they have 2 little ones. I remember going on a camping holiday way down on the south coast with my then husband and the kids. I unloaded the luggage as my oh put the tent up and found there was a bag missing. I panicked thinking it was my oh's clothes. He had a terrible temper. I breathed a sigh of relief when I realised it was actually my clothes I'd left. All I had was what I was wearing and had to use some of our spending money to buy some more.

Toni, me too. I liked it when my kid's dad slept on the sofa.:lol: Did you manage to get the school uniform sorted? My GD is starting secondary school in the morning. So is my niece. Her older sister has been telling her about initiations for the newbies so she's quite worried about going now.

After work, I got the bus to the next town and bought some printer ink (printed my other boarding pass so I can get home again) and then walked to the next town to the rail station and picked up my rail tickets. It's a 15 minute walk but they are renewing the roads in that area so they had taken away some of the pathways and I had to walk on the road with busy traffic. There were other people doing the same and one woman asked me if I knew how to get to a shop she could see but everywhere was cordoned off.

    Afternoon all

Barbara, I shall come and join you by the window and we can put the world to rights with a nice cuppa.

Elizabeth, glad you have an insole and it is working for you. Lets hope things will vastly improve for you.

Christine, are you getting excited yet?? I would be.

Toni, I will be honest, I met someone out there, but once I was out there again he didn't want to know. So I went everywhere on my own for a while. Until I met a group of soldiers staying in my hotel. Then I did have some fun. They were in Portugal teaching the Portuguese. They were in the para's. But that is another story.

Hope you all have a good day in whatever you are up to. I think...we are actually going up today to organise the new car. Keep fingers crossed.
