Barbara, I'm so glad you're home safe and sound. Boy, you were there a long time :o - hope you aren't too sore.

Welcome back Christine :). So pleased you enjoyed a lovely holiday. Gosh, I didn't realise they don't syringe ears anymore - wonder if it's anything to do with the 'compensation culture' Anyway, hope the drops do the trick.

MrO, hope you manage to get that log burner going before the snow arrives  Glad the retirement party went well :)

Toni, hope everything went well with the op - have been thinking of you both :)

Hope Rosie, Karen, Cocoa and all who visit, are ok :)

The trip to the vet knocked me for six.... hubby was cross that I had insisted on going....but I 'thought' I'd be ok.....lesson learnt  As for that goat in the waiting room - a sight to behold and It will live with me forever :D

Gosh everyone I am so sorry :(

I thought I had posted this morning

It was a good message too - maybe I said the 'K' word again??? and I WAS saying I was with you too Barbara so was calling in to see how you got on. I am so pleased you are alright and fingers crossed this time the jabs work :)

Lucy is fine absolutely fine - she was a proper star. First awake and recovered too looks ok apart from a bit battered!!

I will get on again tomorrow and post to each of you, but was horrified to have accidentally left you all in limbo :(

love and thanks to you all for thinking of her

phew Toni! Glad all is well after all. I wonder where your post went?

Glad the injections are over and done with Barbara. give yourself a pat on the back for facing all ops and nasty jabs!

I'm a little worried today, well very worried actually. daughter has to go swimming and of course she still has 'problems' although she is much better. They are letting her use her own changing cubicle but she's gone off to school with tears in her eyes because it is a big worry for her. She loves swimming its the fear of leaks....so I'm upset for her and feel helpless.

Mr O I want a log burner-its on my list along with all the other things, dishwasher, underfloor heating for the kitchen, patio or decking, double mattress, shelving I'm sure there is more. we currently have an open fire but it is messy.

well good vibes to you all. i think I'll message Karen today as its been a while

    HI Everyone

Barbara I am so glad you slept well :) Hope GD has a great birthday - Lucy is 16 in Dec. She has saved up her birthday 'meal out with friends' money for 3 years and is having a party :)

I reckon the K word does need to alert them don't you?

Maybe we will have to call it the cooking room???

Elizabeth I do hope you poo Lucy got on ok today :? She obviously loves her swimming too. Blimey your cooking room will be lovely if you have all that in it and the log burner....where will that be?

I hope you have heard from Karen and that all is well???

Catie - I hope you are feeling a bit more rested today. I bet the vets wished they'd videoed that

MrO they have a lot of those log-burners in France don't they? You son might well be the expert. I hope you can get it going - imagine in the depth of winter....? Bliss :D

Lovely to have you back Christine. Hope your garden is ok and survived your absence :? I bet you miss the GCs already :(

    Love to everyone else

    I hope you are well

Elizabeth, yes our children have to start making their own way but we always worry about them. I hope Lucy managed to enjoy her swimming without any problems.

Mr O, hope you get your log burner working. Sounds wonderful. Perhaps we could all come and sit round it when the winter comes. Glad you enjoyed the party.

Barbara, glad you've had your injections. You must have been there nearly all day. How lovely for you to have a good night's sleep. Hope you have many more. Too late, I emptied all my clothes from my suitcase when I got home and had them washed and hanging up to dry before I went to bed. Only 1 load as I didn't take very much.

Catie, I was told that too many ears were being damaged so they won't do anything for them now. It's worrying me in case the wax doesn't shift and I end up with an ear infection. Hope you are resting now after your vet trip. I'm still giggling about the goat.

Toni, I think a few of us have lost posts. I think mine have gone because someone has posted seconds before me and a page comes up to tell me. You get the chance to read that post first. I sometimes don't notice and go to another page and lose the post. So glad Lucy is ok. Well done Lucy.

Hope everyone else is as well as they can be.

Hope to chat later off to the cooking room to sit with my Son.

    Hi Everyone :)

We have the sun today - makes all the difference :)

Christine, I always wondered about the proceedure involved in syringing ears - seemed a bit brutal to me. I've had my ears done in the past though and it certainly worked. Let's hope the drops do the trick for you.

Elizabeth, glad all went well for your daughter.

Toni, so pleased that Lucy's op went well and hope she's on the mend now.

Barbara, are you noticing any positive effects with the injections, or is it too early to tell?

MrO says hello. He is without his phone and internet at the moment.... a long story :o

Hope Karen is ok as she's not posted for a while, has she?

Love to Rosie, Cocoa and everyone else who visits :)

    Hello everyone,

It`s been a beautiful day today, with the promise of more to come. I missed all the lovely weather here when I was in hospital, and on top of that I should be in Andalusia right now. It saddened me so much to have to cancel that, so it`s especially nice to see a little bit of sun again, before the winter comes.

I`m so pleased to hear that the two Lucy`s are doing well.

Barbara, well done for letting your granddaughter do her own thing, even though it must hurt you to see little family traditions coming to an end.

Nice to see you Catie. Are you behaving yourself.....like me? Isn`t it hard getting the balance right in what we can or can`t do?

I hope Mr O is winning the fight with the log burner.

Love to everyone I may have missed......Rosie.x.

    Hi Rosie

Elizabeth and I both have Lucy's and Charlottes too  We have excellent taste you see

So sad to hear you had to cancel your holiday, but your health must come first I suppose :(

    Hi Catie
Thanks for letting us know about poor MrO - do send our best won't you? Elizabeth was going to try to track Karen down I think.....

I am with you I LOVE sun :)

Elizabeth thanks for letting us know how Lucy got on I am so pleased for her :) Glad your son is comfortable in the cooking room :)

Barbara Oh no :( Tea party cancelled GD is growing up :( How sad, but how right too?? Charley enrols tomorrow at University and she has fresher's next week so adjustments all round eh?

Been lovely here today....Montydon says we must tend to our lawns ::) I need to pick my damsons and apples :?

Yes no Coco....or Karen. Roses1 is away though at least I know that.

Toni, don't worry about the missing posts. We know you always post. Everything spick and span in here again. Haven't watched Monty yet this week. Not sure I'll be tending my lawn. Maybe a quick mow when there's a dry day.

Barbara, how sad when our children and grandchildren grow up. I remember my kids deciding to spend birthdays with their friends. Why didn't they want ice cream and jelly and to play ring-a-roses any more? Maybe you could still do it on another day.

Elizabeth, that brilliant about Lucy. Glad she can now look forward to next time. Enjoy your evening with your son in the cooking room.

Catie, last time I went to get my ears syringed, I was told they didn't syringe any more, they irrigated. It didn't seem too drastic. They squirted water in and let it run out. My sister once tried to do it herself but the water squirted too far in and it took months for it to dry out. She was deaf the whole time. Hope Mr O gets sorted out with his phone and internet. Has he got his fire going yet?

Rosie, I can see you would feel sad about cancelling your holiday, especially as you missed the summer this year. Hope we get a few more warm days for you.

It's still very noisy in my head but trying to do noisy things so I don't notice it.

Been to Dad's today. He seems fine but feeling very lonely as he only has my sister to talk to during the week. At least he remembered he'd been on holiday this year. He'd forgotten the last few weeks.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

16 sounds so young doesn't it Barbara, but I bet your GD feels grown-up ;) I'm sure she'll at least have a cake with you :D

Charley wants to go to University this afternoon....maybe she'll decide not even to go with me :?

Let's hope your jabs do do something in time eh? fingers crossed.

Christine - It's good your Dad remembered his holiday this time and that you visited him :) Shame he isn't stimulated much in the week though:(

Hope the hearing sorts itself out. I have tinnitus so prefer sound (albeit quiet) around me all the time.

Ladies, the fact that your children are able to move forward with their lives should be cause for celebration - so make no room for negative thoughts or feelings  .

Well, I've dumped tal# talk and am now back with my original provider. They are more expensive, but at least we will be able to keep in contact with the outside world :). Things are really looking up as I've now got the log burner roaring. I would have settled with a fire in the wall....but had to keep MrsO happy :) Toni, log burners do seem to be a popular choice in France. Our son and his wife had a house built and it is very modern. In each reception room is a fire built into the wall.....not a log burner to be seen :).

Catie, I meant to ask you about those squatters. Have the council given them their marching orders yet?

Christine, do not be tempted by 'cotton buds' to ease the problem with your ears - they can cause real damage

Rosie, once your body has been given time to heal, I'm sure you will be able to enjoy time away. Meanwhile, take things steadily and remain positive - not always easy, I know :)

MrsO is still in France.....making teddy bears, would you believe. Teddy bears are her passion . I haven't a clue as to how they 'evolve', but she has a basic pattern and customises each one. Anyway, one of my d-i-l's friends spotted the one she made for our new grand-daughter, and now all the village want one it seems. I'm now wondering if she will be back before xmas . Fortunately, I do have the cat for company :D

    Best wishes to all :)

The entire French village will have MrsO's bears :) How lovely - I bet she is secretly proud :)

Good you are back online at least :)

Even better you have your burner working too.

Well Charley did ask me to go with her today to enrol, but obviously is off to fresher's without me and will have a wonderful time. MrO you are right - we did a good job and they must live their own lives :) .

Barbara you are right too - she will always 'need' me in some ways

    Pancakes with strawberries lovely :)

We had lovely sunshine here too.

MrO...yes we are proud parents and Grandparents.....its is lovely to see them moving on..but to us ladies it will always be tinged with a little sadness...that is what we do.. :) MrsO making teddy bears..what a lovely hobby and who knows maybe we will see her name in the shops..
Toni I hope Charley had a good day at uni...its so exciting for her... :D its good when they know what they want to do..good luck to her
My eldest GD had a good time with her friends...she is saving her birthday money to pay for all the concerts she goes to..sought of Gothic bands.. :) I think.. :?
Today I am doggy sitting again...don't I just love it..they have even said when I am without crutches I can take her for a walk... :D

Toni, how exciting for your daughter - bet she will have a lot to tell you when you next speak.

MrO, the squatters are still squatting....could take 6 months for them to move on . I try not to think about them or I might go wild :lol:

Mr O is correct we must rejoice in our children happily moving on in the world.

sorry I dashed in on fri. I am relegated to using the laptop when it is free which is usually only during the daytime and as I'm still trying to sort out a new mattress and laptop/i pad I'm not free that much.

So pleased to see every one popping in despite all their problems. all this talk of fires and I'm starting to notice seasons of mists.....

Love old teddy bears and have a Steiff style bear from Harrods and also some collector dolls. I don't dare go on ebay anymore because I can't really afford to buy and will want to add to the collection.

what a shame you are missing your holiday Rosie. I hope you get a refund and can rebook. OH parents have a house in Spain and I am tempted with the October half term being same time as halloween (which I hate).

I see you have still got family issues Applerose but glad to see the POA might get involved. Your Dad should not be in debt and it is appalling if they are fleecing him for their own benefit and needs to be stopped and this might be the only way. Sorry don't want to upset you but you know from gut instinct something is not right.

Have posted a brief message to Karen. I hope all is well,

Toni hope she is settled and making friends.

Barbara your GD is only a bit older than my boy. he never asks for days out and quite happy at home but taking them all out on a canal boat trip on Sunday for 3 hours!!!! I might have to drag him along.

    Hi Barbara

Hope you had a great time with doggie and that you DO take them up on the offer of walks :D

You eldest GD is saving like Lucy did for her party - a good habit to have I think :)

    Hi Catie
How awful about the squatters. I hope things get sorted quicker than you think :? Yes Charley is quite happy though she woke up with a poorly eye....hopefully nothing. The pharmacist gave her 'something'

    Hi Elizabeth

Don't worry if you have to dash in you are busy I know with the kids and laptop sharing

I hope the canal trip goes well for you. I have booked France for half-term partly because I hate Halloween like yourself :?

I hope you hear from Karen soon.

Love to all our missing café friends
