You can feel the sadness on the forum can't you. Everybody is shell-shocked at the death of Val.
I'll just sit quietly by the fire.

I didn't know Val, but feel so sad for her husband and family. My thoughts are also with all of her forum friends and love to you all xx0
-
Think it will be quiet for a while...she was so bubbly and full of life...and only in her 50s...she will be smiling down at us ..even when she was poorly her smile captured you...
She would have wanted to hear laughter again...maybe after her funeral..bless her...her son are getting some solace in reading her facebook messages..and they have answered everyone how kind..of them
I will have a cuppa...and sit by the window...xxxxxx
Anyone heard off Karen...hope she is okishLove

I'm sorry to come in and read this today; I didn't really know Val even through here, beyond the obvious affection and admiration she was held in, so I'll just sit for a moment with the quiet people & add my respectful condolences.0

Hi all,
Just wanted to add my comments re Val, sadly, I don't post on the Forum on a regular basis, but, I do read the Forum daily, and, have done for some time now. I was truly sorry to hear the sad news of Val, we have a variety of posters, some very regular, some occasionally, some rarely, and, like myself, I drop the very odd rare line in. Val was a person who daily expressed her humour, excellent support in whatever way she knew best, but, mostly she was always there for us all. I will miss her as I'm sure all of us will, but, she's left us a legacy of Val's thread...let's keep it going for her memory and I'm almost sure she would want us to.
Bless her, R.I.P. Val

She would John definitely
It was a great idea and has given lots of us so many laughs and such friendly company.
Lovely to hear such kind words about Val.
Thanks

Popping in for a cuppa by the fire. I too think Val would want us to keep the cafe going. We have all had a moan, a chat and, above all, a good laugh.
Hope everyone is as well as they can be. xChristine0 -
Morning all
John it was very kind of you to post....I can feel her here in the cafe
Toni bless if you feel its to hard to post at the min we understand..like you say there are no words really..but I honestly think she will be picking up on the love
Christine...I remember Vals words we need a cafe to meet in each day...then the forum was changed and Trish thought the new cafe should also be Vals...a no brainer really...we had many a party ....I will sit and have a cuppa with you
And I hope you are all safe in this awful weather...
See you all later xxxxxxx
PS no joy at my GPs yet they haven't got the letter..Love

Afternoon all
Barbara, I did look in yesterday, but saw the news of Val. I felt I could not come on till I knew how I would express myself. Although I did not know Val to that extent, she was a fighter, strong and I honestly thought she was pulling through. RIP to Val. May this café stay as you have already said in her name. And that it will thrive and thrive.
Hope everyone is coping ok today. I am going to sit by the window and have a cuppa and have a good think about things.Karen xx0 -
My sincere condolences to both Val's family and friends.0

I don't often post on this thread but feel today after the news about our dear friend Val that I wanted to say what a wonderful lady she was. We will all miss her I'm sure , and yes the café must stay as Val's café as a very fitting tribute to her. my thoughts are with her family and friends, of course to all of you on here. I will now raise a cuppa to our Val and sit by the window with my thoughtsStay positive always👍xx0

So many kind thoughts of and for Val. Thinking of her family and friends xx0
-
I'll drink a cuppa to Val and have a piece of carrot cake.
Hope everyone is ok in the bad weather. It's not too bad here, just a little windy. My daughter is due to take the ferry home tomorrow but it's looking good. I've been laid up with a tummy bug for a couple of days and so have my daughter's inlaws. We're all much better today though. Hope no-one else has got it as it does seem to be going round.Christine0 -
Carrot cake is going down nicely.
To let you all know Vals Son is going to post time and venue of funeral on facebook if you would like to join me in raising a coffee cup then please do. I will post the date and time on here if everyone is ok with that.
Hugs to all, nice to see you again (((((x)))))Clare xx0 -
popped in to say hi,
still stunned by the news of val, thoughts are with her family and all her friends in here {{{{{{{{}}}}}}}0 -
Just popping in to see how you all are.
I posted on Mell's thread and will also post here; is anyone in close contact with Lindalegs? I feel certain she would have posted on the thread if she knew. I know she only pops in occasionally and at such a busy time of year she may pop in even less. I might be able to contact collywobble and she was in contact with Lindalegs. Maybe that is an option unless someone can contact Lindalegs more quickly?
EDIT I have sent an email to collywobble but not sure how often she checks her mail.
