Hello from a toad to a frog nice to see you, the sun has come out for you, do hope you had a nice visit and can come in more frequently.
Hello barbara, dachshund & all others too.0 -
Hello everyone,
Oops, got me wrist slapped. My bad! It wasn`t an awful word Toads, honest, and I used mostly asterisks!
Toni Lovely to see you, and so pleased to hear how well Lovely Lucy is doing. I`ll have a coffee with you, and some salted caramel ice cream.
I`ve just skyped with the babies. It was so funny. One of them sneezed and she looked around as if to say, who did that! Then she did it again, and nearly rolled over laughing at herself. The other one was glued to the telly, and every time someone came into full focus, she smiled at them. They are both so gorgeous.
I`m worrying about babies all over again today. My next door neighbour, who was one of my closest friends, died in August. Her daughter had just found out that she was pregnant. Yesterday she went into premature labour - 30 weeks - and we are praying that all will be well. She has already suffered so much.
Barbara what`s the name of the shop where you can buy grandchildren? I wouldn`t mind a couple more.
Christine Ooh, fish and chips, butties and tea. Ambrosia.....not the rice!
Much love to everyone.......Rosie.x.0 -

Ive got a PHD in being told off on here, I was thinking of opening up the bunker again but I'd never get the doors open before the ghost of Len and Del escaped and got me in trouble again!.0
-
Toady, it wasn't bad here this morning but, by the time I'd got the bus to the next town, it was freezing. My last bloods were normal. Not really sure what that means.
Fantastic to see you Toni. So glad you and Lucy are home now. Don't you worry about not popping in. Barbara has kept a caramel macchiato ready in case you popped in. (((hugs)))
Hope you managed to get out for a walk Barbara. Was a bit cold here for walking. I always fancy calling in for fish and chips on the way home from dad's on Saturdays but I manage to keep going past most times.
Hope you are having a good weekend Joan.
Ha ha Rosie, aren't babies funny sometimes. I really hope your neighbour's daughter will be ok. My DIL's baby was born that early. She was in intensive care for 3 weeks and then went home. She's 10 months old now and growing fast.
Don't think it's too difficult to get in to trouble Mellman.Christine0 -
It's my niece's wedding in 7 weeks. I've got 2 dresses to choose from but no idea what I can wear on my feet. I've been wearing Sk*tch*rs Sh*pe Ups for the last 2 years. Can't walk in anything else. That'll look good, won't it? Either a short cream and green dress or a long green dress with a pair of black glodhoppers.Christine0
-
Aww Mell you did get picked on....but our Rosie didn't even swear ..maybe when we get the new forum up and running they will allows us a few naughty words...
Hello Christine just spotted you there..like you say babies are hardy little things...if Mell opens the bunker he will need a couple of bunker babes..don't worry I haven't lost it..was a while ago now... and we did wear heels...
I know what you mean about shoes...dont you just wish we could wear nice shoes..not sure if you can wear a wedge heel worth a try..
I will see you all in the morning..hope you all sleep well..xxxxxLove

Evening everyone
Sorry you got into trouble on my behalf Rosie, you could technically claim you were quoting me.. as you were just imagining what I might say.. so I should be in trouble too. There is a bit about swearing in the new forum sticky; all asterisks is ok, I guess Rosie gave a hint what she was starring out, don't see the rules changing do you lol. bunker eh, there are obviously things I don't know about and I sense had best not ask. 8)
Sorry to hear about your neighbour's daughter Rosie & hope things will be ok for her.
Barbara don't worry about the baby talk it's not like I recoil in horror (well only slightly) I will just skip ahead til I get to talk of cats or cake, you all do carry on, please. Hope you kept the receipt from Babies R Us, but I don't suppose you will want to return or exchange them will you. I'm doing ok today thanks, I did get out into the garden briefly but only while it was nice earlier then it soon went v cold, so I came in & started looking at seeds on the net and mumbling to myself - theoretical gardening, much warmer. Keep seeing plants I like that turn out to be unsafe round cats, or exude irritating sap, or are notoriously hard to grow, etc. But have ordered a few things.
Applerose the temperature dropped when you were out in much the same way as here, hope you weren't long at bus stops. Not sure whether you keep an eye on your specific blood markers or whether you're just happy with a general 'normal' summary - I tend to scan my mtx booklet & mentally do a little graph of up/down. If mine are high I soon know about it, it more or less corresponds with how I feel, or it certainly did when they were skyhigh.
Hope you can sort out your shoe dilemma, can't bring much useful input - any chance of changing into something for the sitting down bits & a quick photo?
I'd like to join the chips party please, no fish for me but definitely bread & butter, lots of salt & vinegar, nice mug of tea. Aah (drool).
Have put some nice coffee & walnut cake in the tin for tomorrow.
Have a warm night, toady x.0 -
Somebody's been in the cake tin 8) Mig0
-
You're joking Mig
I was after some of that coffee and walnut Toady left in it!! (ribbit ribbit Toady ).
How LOVELY to see Mell in here and don't worry about the naughty words I doubt anyone is actually cross with you (Rosie ) the filters probably take ALL naughty words out to be on the safe side/fair.
Toady and Mellman - the sight of my crocus' flowering lifted my heart when we got home and now I will also be getting my tin of seeds out for a gander
Christine - have you looked at hotters shoes? Some of them are quite pretty and comfy too. 7 weeks isn't a long time to sort something out so you'd better get looking
Rosie I am sure your neighbour,s baby will be just fine. My eldest was two and a half months early and she is a gorgeous 18 year old now Hope you enjoyed your coffee How fantastic is it to be able to Skype the babies¬ Technology is wonderful when you can see them
Barbara Thank you so much for keeping the place so lovely....Val would have been so proud of it. I have actually been having to use another café beginning with a 'C' as there's one in the hospital. Have you tried a sticky toffee cooler?? YUM
Joan It's lovely to be back and to be at home thank you It's good to see you back in the café too.
Love and thanks to all of you

Hello everyone,
Toni So good to see you, and sounding so positive. Please look after yourself. I`ve brought a fresh posy of freesias to go next to Lovely Lucy`s candle.x.
I`m thrilled to say that the baby - a boy - arrived safely. He is only three and a half pounds, but seems to be healthy enough. He has all the world to grow in.
I`ll have some tea and toast, and sit and ruminate.....how about that hey?....sounds painful doesn`t it?
Much love to you all.x.0 -
Glad to see you Toni.
I didn't eat all the cake I only had one piece ,so if it's all gone someone must have sneaked in after me .
Roast chicken dinner today.
It's very grey and cloudy here and the wind is starting to blow. Mig0 -
Blimey busy in here
Toni its sooo good to see you and yes I can imagine how nice it was to see the crocus it really does lift the spirits.. I will certainly give the coffee a go toffee something was it.. :?
Rosie I am so glad the baby boy is doing ok..the weight isn't to bad saying how early it was..
Toady less about babies and more about cats and gardens...at the min we have 3 cats looking at us through the patio doors..our neighbours go out and they all come here...we are still in garden tiding mode..I have got to empty the pond then we can fill it in
Mig a roast dinner always sounds good...
Christine..hope the weather is ok there then you can have a walk...yes I got out but dont get far on these legs..could do with new one and not just hips

THE CAKE TIN'S EMPTY!!!OMG! Good job I've bought a packet of biscuits with me then. Hovis Digestive - I love 'em!!
I've had a weird weekend. Bought OH and myself a new smart phone each and spent most of Saturday setting them both up - what fun!!
Barbara, I had to read your post twice - I thought at first you said you had chicken's legs. It conjured up an amusing image. Sorry
Toni, I know we've not really met before but it's good to see you. I hope your daughter is still doing well.
It's turned very cloudy, windy and cold here, spoilt itself after a sunny morning.
Hugs to all including those I didn't mention.

Hello Toni Rosie Mig Barbara Kath
Toni it's lovely to see you back in here.i hope you all have a good week. take care
joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
I'm so late  sorry I missed you all. I don't think it's too late for tea & toast, though so I will sit like Rosie and might try some of that ruminating while I'm here. Glad to hear baby made it safely - & hope all goes well in the coming weeks, at least he is off to a good start, must be a huge relief for them.
Thanks for the biscuits Kath Glad you have had fun with your phones, matching his 'n' hers smartphones, eh, very cool 8) .
Barbara I love the cats staring in; conjures it up perfectly, they do don't they - our neighbours' sits in the open porch and stares in the frosted glass, you can just see his white 'bib' & a couple of green eyes hypnotically willing you to let him in.. quite unnerving it is..
Toni I can soon lay my hands on more coffee cake.. it may slip my mind to tell the little pigs (migs? ) that scoffed it, til you & kath have had an economy sized slice. Glad to hear you are going through your seeds crocuses out here too, lovely.
See you all on the morrow, toady xx0 -
Morning all
I had a text this morning of Hileena she pops in the cafe now and then, she is4 weeks post on on her THR and is back in hospital with a break in it..this is awful news..she is a bit like me had one hip done and still has the bad back pain.. so then she has her other done... they said it might help but then this..its all she needed poor thing
Toady...I will try and get a pic of the faces at the window... they are so funny ...
Joan I hope that boiler is behaving..
Its a lovely day here and so mild..hubby is at work but if he comes in early I might get out..have a good day everyone...
Thinking of Karen, Elizabeth and Coco..not seen then for a while..
See you all later xxxxxxLove

Hello Toady and Barbara
I hope you had a good weekend. yes Barbara the heating is working.
sorry to read about Hileena.
take care
joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
Toady, I don't really keep an eye on my bloods as I only see the rheumie once a year now. Sometimes he wants bloods done, sometimes he doesn't. I'm not on meds and he says the RA is just rumbling away in the background. I did a little bit of tidying in the garden the other day. Haven't looked at the seeds I have left yet, although I brought the mini greenhouse out of the loft. Need a new cover for it.
Good to see you again Toni. Hope things are going as well as they can. Sticky toffee cooler? Mmmm, sounds delicious. Is it a cold drink? I have tried H*tter shoes. I can almost walk in them but still don't find them very comfy. Not enough cushioning at the base of the toes for me.
Barbara, don't think I could manage in a wedge. I need my feel to be flat as it's the base of my toes which gets most painful. The cats obviously enjoy being in your garden and house. They know where they're looked after. Sticky chicken? Yummy. Thanks for letting us know about Hileena. I do hope she's not in too much pain.
Rosie, so glad baby arrived safely and healthy. I'm guessing he'll be in hospital for a few weeks but hope it's not too long before he's home.
Hmmm, Mig, I wonder who's been at the cake. I love roast chicken dinners.
Kath, hope you got your phones set up ok. Very nice.
Glad your heating is behaving now Joan.
Another heating engineer was due at 11am yesterday but didn't turn up. Or so I thought. Around 12.30, I went in to the porch and found a note to say he'd knocked but there was no answer. I was in but didn't hear him. Anyway, I phoned and he said he'd come round in 10 minutes. An hour later, he turned up and told me a woman had come off the slip road and gone in to the side of his van and wrote it off. No-one was hurt but I feel a little guilty. If I'd answered the door first time, it might not have happened.Christine0 -
Hello everyone, quiet today - too many missing - hope they are back soon..
Barbara a cat pic would be lovely does sound comical. It was nice earlier on, they said it was the warmest day of the year so far I think, I didn't really feel it as the cloud came in quite quickly & seemed chilly. Hope you managed to get out if hubby wasn't held up.
Applerose, sorry to hear about your central heating man, not your fault he had the accident but I know what you mean, pity he didn't make you hear. Glad nobody was hurt. All these things hinge on a split-second don't they, I often think about that.
That's good if you aren't going for regular bloods, I'm still on once a month, but they don't do all of the tests all of the time. Pleased to hear your ra is only rumbling, whether you'd agree with his verdict, but it's a case of thankful for small mercies isn't it, especially if you are off meds. I have just been over in gardening thread, with some slightly big ideas which will probably come to nowt much.
I'm assembling my greenhouse too, I was stupid and broke a plastic cross piece by putting my foot on it to hold it while I took it apart in the first place to clean etc. Put no pressure on it at all, it was just to steady it, but it was obviously a weak point. Hoping I can cobble a mend. Might be able to make my cover do another turn. Hope we get some nice weather soon.
Going for some soup, toast & a chunk of cheese - toady x0 -
IT WASNT ME THAT ATE ALL THE CAKE.
Hileena hope you feel better soon ,what a shock.
Take care all,chat more tomorrow. Mig0 -
Sorry mig you have been unfairly singled out, I know you only had the one slice, I couldn't resist the pig pun.
Making a late drink for anyone that drops by. Always been a late owl but have got worse lately, & when the clocks go on, I'll be even worse. Maybe if I get a bit later every day I'll come in at normal operating hours in the end. Mind you, are there any arthritic larks?
'night all xx0
