'lo all.. I posted last night but didn't realise I had been logged off since standing my pc by so lost my post.. so gave up til this morning..

Don't think you'll be troubling us with your worries barbara.. you're always quick to bother about everyone else.. but quite understandable if you'd rather not, & talk about other things.. hope all's well anyway..
Hope you have a nice meal later & catch up with your niece.. and the weather stays ok.. very grey here. have you decided about your grass seed.. & have the bees been back, I expect you explained that there was no 'chain' if they wanted to move into a house right away

I have finished my paper stripping thanks it was only a bit fiddly round the edges, it will annoy me a bit that there is paper trapped behind the cupboard but can do nowt about it. have got 1 quick coat of paint on & will do another later then I can put things back :D

Have they decided about the cobbles irreversibly applerose, is there no hope of a shift.. talk about democracy  good on you for turning up & all the others.. will you see yourself back on tv I wonder..
I have tried almond milk & sometimes have it it's quite nice.. some soya is quite strongly 'bean-y' tasting but the one I have there's not too much flavour to.

Hope you have a good time at your show mig, took me a second to click you were going to see Cats & not just some cats  enjoy yourselves.

No joan yet today.. I'm quite early I suppose..

Well I have 4 watchers and have made a tu'penny ha'penny sale now, so it's all go in my 'shop'

Have a good day everyone xx

Toady thanks so much that is very kind...bless he is 41 and still my baby.....I will try my best not to bring people down... :)
The bees have done a runner..yes no chain but they have still gone...Mellman say they are probably wild honey bees I haven't clue :? I will have to read up on them..but they all look the same apart from the honey bees..good for you stripping the paper..I painted over mine..boring magnolia but at least it clean..4 watchers is good :D I love the buzz...must get something on there
I have had a lovely day with my niece ..just had a meal in the pub and put the world to right has we always do..they did me a children's potion..very good of them..it was steak pie chips and peas..and was very good...

Oh dear hope all is well Barbara. Could it be an abscess as they can form in the neck/ throat? Sorry if that is a silly suggestion but you know with teeth as we get older and all that....

Had a sleep this morning and some scary dreams. I always have bad dreams in the daytime! So I've just woken up. I've had to tackle a mountain of ironing, hoovering and tidying up since they returned to school.

I have had an inhaler a few years but never took it seriously. Anyway my lovely 10 year old sits me down and makes me take it. She hates me coughing- I had to miss her pied piper play because I would have coughed all the way through.

Sorry again about your car Toni. Its been a bit troublesome lately hasn't it? You can do without all this extra hassle. Nice of them to give you a courtesy car but I expect you pay for it with the high insurance premiums they charge.

Applerose you did tell us about the cobbles but now they have come to dig them up! What a shame.

Mig my Son adores Cats the musical so much so we bought him a Cats T shirt this Christmas but he refuses to wear it.

good luck with your ebay Toady.

Respite Wednesday so just tap tapping away with music on until Son gets home.

Glad you had a lovely day with your niece Barbara. I think some bees are loners so they might not set up home but others like to live together. I'm sure there will be some along later who like your house.

Toady, I find that annoying too when I can't move the furniture to decorate behind. If you can't see it, I wouldn't worry about it. No, there is nothing we can do about the cobbles. It was up to the Highways Agency. Whatever they want to do to the roads, they do. Our town hall is a listed building but that doesn't include the cobbles around it. I saw the clip on the tv's website but the tv company had a glitch and it didn't play on tv. They just read out a statement. Good luck with your selling.

Elizabeth, sorry to hear you are having bad dreams. I wonder if it's because you are under a lot of stress. Have you had your cough checked out? Do you have asthma? Your nurse should be able to sort out a different inhaler if that one isn't working. But you really should use it. It might help. Hope you've had some rest this afternoon after all that ironing and hoovering.

I felt like crying today when I went down to our High Street. There was a digger hammering and scraping all the cobbles up then picking them up and throwing them in to a pile. So much for the promise of looking after them in case they can be used elsewhere. While I was down there, I noticed a huge crowd and paparazzi. Nigel Farrage was visiting our town. He called in to several shops and had a drink in one pub and his lunch in another. Don't think I like his ideas for our country though. I had 3 redundant hoovers in the cupboard - just in case the one I'm using now breaks. I had offered them on the freecycle site and 2 of them were collected this evening. A woman asked if she can have the other one as her 5 year old son loves hoovers and the one he has broke. A 5 year old with an adult sized hoover?

Hope everyone who hasn't been in is doing ok.

Morning all..the sun is shinning..I hope it is for all of you
Elizabeth thankyou...I will let you all know when he gets the results..I do hope that cough clears up for you...bless your daughter for making you take the inhaler..its for the best ..I didnt know you had got there respite...one day but suppose its better than nothing ..you can unwind for a few hours..
Christine..how sad that they have ripped up the cobbles ..it makes my blood boil...must say I like Nigel Farage..we have quite a few ethnic friends one including my lovely neighbour and a lovely Polish family we know..but he just say that Britain cant afford any more people..sad but true..we can see it in our GPs and hospital now..they are really struggling...I do feel for these people looking for work to help there family's..oops sorry I have gone off on one there..ignore me..
Today OH is off work for now we have one GD here .she quite likes helping with the potting so she can get the baskets and tubs ready for my 30 Strawberry plant for £9..off a shopping channel...we put the potatoes in there bags yesterday so fingers crossed I dont forget to keep topping them up has they grow...
    See you all later xxxxxx

Hello all, I think I'll have a cuppa before I begin. (slurping sounds from Kath)

Oh Barbara, please don't think you can't let all your worry out. You're the first to give support to those who are suffering. But I do hope when your son gets his results, they are positive ones.

Applerose, what's it like to be a TV star? I wish I'd spotted you.

My news is a bit fraught too. I had my Dermatology appointment yesterday. It's just across from Rheumatology Mig. Gateway A. The doctor was very nice and gave me 3 different creams/lotions, sent me for more blood tests, then I signed papers giving them permission to do a punch biopsy on one of my legs. I go on May 6th. Not looking forward to it as I just watched a video on Y**Tu** - but if it solves the problem of my itching, I will be brave

Sending hugs to Barbara, Joan, Elizabeth, Toady, Mig, Applerose (sorry about the cobble stones) and anyone I've forgotten.

Hope you managed to get your strawberries planted up today Barbara. I started with strawberries a few years ago. Still got the same plants. They send out runners and I plant them up so have quite a few now. And you've already got your potatoes in? Well done. I haven't put anything new in yet.

Joan, they have dial and ride in our area too. I think it's a brilliant idea.

Kath, it was actually quite funny as I walked past in the background. Don't know what a punch biopsy is so will look it up. It doesn't sound pleasant at all. Hope it goes well and you get some results.

Glad you had such a good time at Cats, Mig. You've got me wanting cheesy chips now. Never had them but they sound good at the moment.

Our town's next fight - we have told the council we no longer want to be under their jurisdiction and want to go back to the borough we used to be in years ago before the government changed all the boundaries, North Yorkshire. They seem keen to have have us and one of the other towns is thinking of joining us. We had our vote today to replace 3 of the town councillors who resigned as they wanted nothing to do with all the recent upheaval. We'll find out tomorrow who won.

Mig, glad you enjoyed Cats. Thanks for putting my mind at rest re punch biopsy. I have it on Tuesday 6th, what date is your appointment with the fragrant Dr P? I might see you across the way.

Hope all are well, Barbara, thinking of you and your son.
Joan, I didn't know you had a new puppy. Yes, a photo would be lovely. :D

We've had rain here, and it's still a bit cloudy. Not looking forward to the weekend weather. Sounds a bit grim!!

Cheesy chips, never tried them but they sound tasty. I'm looking into the health benefits of beetroot juice. I love beetroot and eat lots, but some juice would be nice too. Will have to look in A**a and T***o to see if they sell it.

Hope you have a good weekend, whatever the weather. xxx

Hello everyone - bit damp & murky today - not nice for getting in the garden, everyone is doing a bit better than me by the sounds of it.. barbara has nice freshly cut grass, a tidy drive, & some things planted.. I haven't done anything the last few days. Waiting for seeds to come up that don't seem to be doing.

Joan we have dial-a-ride though I've never used ours, have used another scheme though, dial-a-ride usually seem to be struggling for funding etc the same everywhere I expect. Eb*y is standing at 8 watchers & just the 1 bid, thanks :) (& thanks TK), not ending til Sun night. Hope you are doing okish today.

Sorry about all your 'appointments & ointments' Kath, though I suppose you'll be glad of the latter if they help. Hope the biopsy is ok and like mig's doesn't hurt, at least May 6 is not too long.. if that is a good thing.. :?

Hope you had a better day yesterday, after your unsatisfactory daytime sleep etc the day before, TK, it certainly can make you feel odd.. it does me.. and odd dreams. Hope the ironing mountain went down a bit too. Not really what you would want to do when you are having some respite but I can imagine that's exactly when you find there is stuff to catch up with.

So frustrating about the cobbles applerose, I would be furious watching them chuck them about no wonder you were close to tears. You'll tell us what happened at the council meeting hope it goes the right way.

Glad you had a good outing mig, you do well to make the effort to go to things, glad it was good & a tasty lunch. Good luck with your next appt.

Must do 'something' not sure what yet  just finish my tea & a ginger nut first... xx

Kathleen I love beetroot and started on it when my cholesterol was high..nit a clue if it has work because I am on statins..but my reading has gone so low they might reduce the strength of the statins so who knows..and thankyou..
Mig..the same here cold and grey..you enjoy ..I am partial to garlic bread :)
Toady yes I am tidy and not before time...still contemplating the turf... :? I think we should all come round and help then we can move onto Christine's garden.and anyone else that needs us..we could be the hobble squad...

I think I come in just as you are going out Barbara. Didn't think our town would be shown in your area. I was there at the time. If I'd known, I'd have made sure I gave you a wave. Bet they didn't show you the mess the town is in at the moment. We have to wait now till the county council decide if it is legal to have a referendum. Hope your GD had a good day. Yes, wouldn't it be good to be that age again. I'm thinking that they are more likely to contact your son quickly if there is something wrong so I'm sure it will be fine. Good idea about the wobble squad. We'd get all the gardens done in no time.

Kath, sounds as if our weather will be pretty miserable here too.

Toady, all I've done is cut my grass and weed and tidy 2 borders. Haven't planted or sown anything. Sounds as if a few people are waiting to put in last minute bids on Eb*y. Hope you get what you want for your items.

Haven't had lasagne for a while Mig. I must get round to making one.

Just found out something else today. You might remember me telling you that housing plans had been passed just down the road from me on one of the farms. I think I might have mentioned that there is a major gas pipe passing through this land. The council have admitted that they should never have allowed houses to be built there but it's too late to change that now. The part of the pipeline which passes through is to be upgraded but it will also be moved which means 1675 houses, including mine, will be affected in some way if the pipe explodes as it once did. The main concern is that new pipe will be joined on to the existing 50 year old pipe. Anyway, we are waiting till they make a start then we are going to put posters up and anything else we can think of to warn people.

Just watching the news. At a school (didn't catch where), the kids found a giant egg on the roof of the school and the fire brigade were called to bring it down. It was then taken away by men dressed in all-in-one white suits. The kids were so excited wondering if it was a dragon egg. What a great idea, whoever thought of it.

I put 3 hoovers on the freecycle site. They have all been collected now. The last one was for a 5 year old boy. His eyes lit up when he saw it. Apparently, he's mad on hoovers and his last one broke.

Oh, sorry Toni. That stain on the floor was my Beetroot juice. I hadn't noticed I'd spilled some. A litre carton cost £1.98 from A**a Barbara. It is 90% organic beetroot, and 10% organic apple juice (not from concentrate). Fingers crossed for 2 weeks time.

Mig, shame we won't be there on the same day. Would have been nice to say hello.

Applerose, you think your town is a mess. You should see the state of Beeston and Nottingham with all the tram works (that nobody wants) that are going on. Thankfully I don't have to go there often, although my dad lives in Beeston. My town doesn't need any works to make it a mess!!

Joan and Toady, we had a Dial-A-Ride here in Derbyshire (I'm on the border with Notts) it used to be free, but now it is £1 flat rate (£2 return) for gold card holders (bus pass).

Sun is shining here at the moment, although it rained and was very windy this morning. Hope those who want to get out in the garden manage to do so. My gardener (OH) is itching to get some bedding plants in.

Whatever you're doing, have a good one.

Hi all. Very chilly today and Son is a moaning mood. So I cannot cough or make the slightest noise but I'll be off to watch the football results soon.

Barbara I get respite on Wednesdays because the school do an hour long club after school then take them in a mini bus to an autistic charity who look after them for a further 2 and a half hours. OH then has to drive through the rush hour to get him. He has to have sausage and chips so OH gets a meal for everyone so I don't need to cook. However he has been upset by the noise of the cars driving by so don't know whether I should continue.

I had a letter 2 days ago awarding me 5 hours p.w. payments for respite but of course it is finding the right carer which is the difficult bit.

The night/ evening carers I used to use the money for have stopped as they will only look after my Son and I have 2 others to be cared for so what I do with them? Have 2 separate carers in or take them elsewhere? Also OH Mum never seems to do anything for our children, spending all her time with the other Grandchild.

applerose I bet the 5 year old was on autistic spectrum. My boy had a thing about Hoovers. He wanted to know what make everyone had and loved the history of Dyson, knows all the models and date of production :D . However he does not like using them or the noise they make

Fingers crossed for Thursday Barbara and just hope the news is not bad.

I love beetroot too and have 2 jars in the fridge but cannot open the lids so put them back and forget about them!

Had another lunch out with OH on Thursday that is 2 in a month now. Was surprised the place was so packed, mostly older people.

Well my back is killing me so I'll make that cuppa, take a painkiller or two and watch final score.

Will pop in when I can,

    Elizabeth xxxxxxx

Barbara, it will have been Yarm where you saw Farage being interviewed. He stopped here then went to Newcastle. He apparently said that all 3 UKIP members here would be elected to our town council but they came bottom 3. I felt like asking the little boy if he wanted to hoover my house while he was here. I've got an electric kettle so it switches off when it's hot enough but I have burnt boiled eggs a couple of times. Hope you do well with your little ornaments. They might well be worth something now.

Hi Toni. It does get quite busy in here now, doesn't it? Thank you for cleaning up. I'm not sure who left the mess. :? Hope you have good weather and get your grass cut or would you rather not? You could always say you are growing a meadow.

Hope you are having good weekend too Joan.

Kath, so they are messing your town up too? Seems no-one's council is listening to what the people want. We now have 3 towns all asking to leave the council we're all with and go back to the one we were with originally. Hope your OH gets the plants in this weekend.

Elizabeth, could your son maybe wear earplugs for the journey home? It would be such a shame if you have to give up your respite and I'm sure he must enjoy the clubs. And I'm sure your other children wouldn't be a problem for the carers so why can they not look after them all? Guess it's health and safety or jobsworths stopping them. I didn't think of the little boy being autistic. You could be right. Couldn't believe how his eyes lit up when he saw it. How lovely for you to have lunch out with your OH. Hope it happens regularly now.

Wasn't a bad day at dad's today. My niece was there so we talked a lot about her wedding and she showed us another 170 photos.  I called in at the farmer's market because they had advertised an egg stall but it wasn't there. Did get a chicken pie though. £2.50 but it was very tasty and the gluten free pastry was perfect and not crumbly as it often can be. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I have been buying farm eggs lately because we eat a lot of eggs in this house. Sadly my Son likes his omelettes burnt which I find such a waste of a freshly laid egg.

Son wears ear defenders at all times. They just are not strong enough to block out those boom boom car noises. I don't think he enjoys the club at all which is why I might stop it.

Officially Carers won't look after the other children, only the one with the special needs because they do not want to be responsible for the other children if anything happens, although a few previous carers have said to me off the record they would be happy to look after all 3 but as you can't choose who is turning up on the night you cannot risk it.In the past they also looked after me so OH could go out as I was in so much pain I could not cope with them alone.

Well I'm up a bit later tonight but as I don't feel very tired I might as well.

    Take care all of you
