Toady, I got it a bit wrong about the moon. I saw there was to be a blood moon and I'm sure I read that it was the second full moon of the month but it isn't, is it? I did see a still of it though. Think it was on the NASA site. Yes, I spread things out so they can get a clearer view of the sleeves/legs.

Sorry your appointment didn't go as well as you'd hoped Barbara. Some of them really have a way with words, don't they? I've grown potatoes in bags a few times. I don't get a lot of potatoes but enough to do me for a good few meals. I got it wrong about the blood moon. I thought it meant the second full moon but it isn't. The blood moon is when there is an eclipse and the moon looks blood red.

Mig, I get a few things from Ald* but don't do a full shop there. I find they are quite good on their twice weekly special offers. Fruit and veg is good most of the time.

Elizabeth, hope your OH's friends didn't turn up. You could do with the time to yourself, especially if you have a headache. Hope it clears quickly.

Hope you and Peppa are ok Joan.

I was on my own at work today, upstairs. I heard a noise downstairs and just assumed that someone had come home. A few minutes later, I turned to go downstairs and there was a strange man at the bottom of the stairs. We both shouted out and jumped backwards ready to run. He was there to fix the tops of the stair posts on. Neither of of knew the other would be there.

Called in at T*sc* today and bought more than I should have. I'm supposed to be ordering online to save me from carrying it. Oops. I did find some Cafe au Lait and some Stem Ginger ice cream. Very naughty because I always end up eating the whole lot at once.

Last week, I ordered online from Asd* and decided to get 3 Easter eggs for £10. They sent me the wrong ones and, as 2 of them weren't in the offer, they charged me an extra £7. I've emailed them a few times and they kept saying I had to look at the bottom of the delivery note where it listed the offers (despite the fact I kept telling them it wasn't there). Phoned them last night and, eventually they agreed to refund me. :D

Lovely and sunny when I got home so have cut the grass (patchwork-like) in both the front and back gardens.

Elizabeth I hope they see sense and dont come with the children..you need some rest not hassle and I know your son doesn't like noise
Christine what a fright ..gosh I would have been terrified  ..so glad it wasn't a burglar..it was such a lovely moon last night ..thanks for the explanation about the blood moon..they are still doing ..well they were yesterday £1 delivery at Asd*...for Easter...and they say if the item is dearer than the one you ordered they charge the same..I have gone into my account and ticked the box so they wont put alternatives in..
Glad you enjoyed your ice cream... :)
Mig I am glad your weather has been nice its seems most of us have enjoyed it..I love Ald**..I get my face cream form there has well they tested with the dearest one and Ald** won

Ooh busy.. no I haven't been potting all day barbara, just a few bits in a couple of little sessions.. it was very nice outdoors though and have had a robin around yesterday & today :) Sorted out a bag for charity and forced myself to chuck out some older stuff, clothes etc too, forced being the word.. and some old makeup/toiletries &c, things I know full well have been here long past when they should be open (probably in decades never mind years  ) but still hard to part with

As far as L*dl goes there is one hereabouts, & an A*di further away, but both would mean a bus ride & then carrying the shopping.. & if I do get to the next town I only want to walk round ordinary shops & not carry bags so it's not worth it to me to go to them really. I did use to go to L*dl when I was nearer but often just to look at the non-food stuff as much as anything. Glad you got another bee house, were the people making them themselves.. your bees will have to make appointments to come & look round  Sorry the clinic was a bit gloomy though. :(

Glad you sorted out your overcharged easter eggs applerose I guess you have to check everything.. they could have let you & the unexpected workman know about the other, good job neither of you jumped or tripped on the stairs! Could have been awkward if you were hoovering & couldn't hear, mind you then he would have known you were there  same goes if you were singing show tunes at the top of your voice

I remember Hillsborough clearly and can't really believe it is that long.. what a drawn out battle it's been for answers.

TK I certainly hope 'the friends' stay away they should get the message from your response to their hassling that you aren't keen, and turning up to your 50th against your wishes is appalling bad manners! People never cease to astonish me, they seem to have no sensitivity at all.

Hello mig, yes I can well believe your fruit & veg was that much cheaper, when I used to shop at waitr*ose in person it was one of the most expensive depts.. packed up posh sort of stuff where you practically pay per each, some of it, & I expect oc*do works on much the same lines.

Have a good day tomorrow yourselves Joan, I will say goodnight - xx

Toady, I take my old clothes to one of the hospice charity shops. They told me to take even very old or damaged clothes as they can sell them to the rag man. Oh my goodness, I am really glad I hadn't been singing. I think the man would have run off.

Barbara, I think the same about throwing things out. What's the point if you only have to buy another one later? Hope you enjoyed your time with your family.

I finally saw the doctor this afternoon about my painful hip. She thinks it's the muscle I thought it was in the beginning so she's sending me for physio. I also asked what she thought about the fact the x-ray of my throat my rheumie sent me for showed a problem. She is going to ask for the report so she can see what he was talking about. Last day at work tomorrow. Can't wait for my 4 days off. It's quiet in here, Hope everyone is ok.

It is quiet isn't it.. if it's not you singing applerose, it must be my tuneless whistling putting people off :D

Thanks for the info about the rag collections at charity shops, I have heard that before about one of our local ones in particular but for some reason I've gone back to thinking did they definitely say they wanted them when I asked.. & will that have changed.. etc.. so wasn't sure. but I will definitely do that in future, I have got a pile of suitable things. :) I can't remember what the issue with your throat was (sorry), did the rheumie not outline the problem to your satisfaction then.. is it that you just want your dr's opinion too.

Quite nice day again & shouldn't be too bad over Easter supposedly. Good for sitting and watching to watch the birds as you say barbara, or it will be when I put the bench up, but yes it's awful watching the cats eyeing them up.. you can read their little minds & it's not pretty is it.. :? Hope you coped ok with the 'visitors', how is the ankle feeling.. will OH have some extra Easter time not working..

The neighbours are now putting up some sort of wooden construction thing where the gap is, an open gazebo type thing & trellisy bits, so there will be something growing back there I imagine - good. :D

Hello to all absentees & tomorrow's callers-in, night, xx

Thankfully OH told them I had a headache and D was kicking off (both true) but that doesn't always mean they won't turn up. I was furious about my 50th as my girls were visiting and obviously I don't see them too often plus I'd had months of bad health and wanted to have an easy weekend. Its only that I end up running around after them that gets me- if they controlled them all would be fine. I don't want you to think I'm mean. I have my friend and her Son round as she has an awful time with him with autistic meltdowns and he does not attend school because of being excluding so she has no rest at all plus she has a very bad back. But I know what it is like to have very little time for yourself and to struggle with pain trying to keep a lid on things.

I went on a trip to Waddesdon Manor yesterday. The weather was perfect and we had a nice time. I'd promised my Son so I'm pleased I didn't let him down this time. Today I am paying back with a very painful left leg but I do think it was worth it. The Manor is beautiful and full of the most wonderful furniture and treasures.

I never throw anything away now. I'm sure someone will need it eventually. With my first house I was given tons of old stuff not that my children will ever be able to afford a home of their own. Some people have nothing.

Applerose hopefully the news aboput your throat is not too worrying but good that you have had an x-ray and they are on the case. I'm convinced something is wrong with mine too but nothing has shown up.

Yep Waitrose is expesive but I love the small shop and quality of meat. I'm never sure what safety standards the other shops bother with but M&S and Waitrose have regular inspections and high standards.

We have started on the Easter eggs,

    Elizabeth xxxx

Oh yes Ginger will be doing the Easter egg run this weekend.

I hate being the one who doesn't want people round but have to be selfish at times. They are OH friends but I do all the flipping running about

What has Joan been looking for? I'm intrigued.

Did you get a trip out in the end Barbara?

I think we'd best be quiet then Toady. As for my throat. I have had a cough for a few years now and sometimes can't swallow. My nurse practitioner thought it was asthma but I wasn't convinced so I did some research and found you can get arthritis in your throat. So I mentioned it to my rheumie. He sent me to get my neck x-rayed. He showed me the x-ray and pointed out 2 white lines and told me that the joints in my throat, which should be made of ligament, had turned to bone so that could be my problem. He wouldn't answer my questions saying he'd have me back once he had all the info he needed. Trouble is he sent me a letter saying the blood tests I'd had done were normal but no mention of the x-rays. The gazebo thing sounds good. Hope they do grow something that hides your garden from them.

Joan hope you have a lovely Easter weekend.

Elizabeth, your trip out sounds lovely. Hope the payback doesn't last long. Did your son enjoy it too? You've started on the Easter eggs? Well why not? Enjoy. You certainly are not mean. I think they are for expecting you to entertain them when you are not well.

Barbara, are you joining in with the Easter egg hunt? I'm sure your GD will love the fluffy bunny. Funny isn't it, how the eggs taste much better then a bar of chocolate. Did you get out today?

Yaaaay, 4 days off work. My boss asked me today if I was going to be off tomorrow. I have never worked on good Friday for 15 years but he didn't know. :o Right I'm off to see if I can spot the International Space Station again. Going to try to video it this time.

Ah, I'm with you now Barbara. There is an Easter egg run from the next town to collect eggs and take them to the childrens' hospice. I don't usually see the Easter one but do get t see the Xmas one. It's fantastic what they do. What a shame you missed it. It's always the babies who rule the roost, isn't it? Although, I like tradition, I don't stick to the fish on Good Friday. Not sure what I'll be having for tea. Had egg sandwiches for lunch. Hope you manage to get some of the garden work done. We've been told there will probably be rain on Sunday and Monday so I'm hoping to get a little bit done outside this afternoon.

Just seen it was on the 5th April this year. You must have been out and about that day because you would have heard the scooters go by!

I also was told my throat could be asthma and got given an inhaler. RA can damage throat and lungs and I've also had trouble swallowing, especially at night. I have to take water with me everywhere I go incase my throat locks up.

Yep I'm still suffering payback but pain has spread to my elbows for some reason. Son enjoys being out. We joined the National Trust so we have an incentive to go out a bit more.

Looking chilly here, typical Easter weather. At least the bluebells and blossom look lovely.

Sorry I've not been around for a while. I've been in hospital since 7th April! My pseudomonas has come back. I had a temperature of 39c, with breathing difficulties. They put me straight on to Tazocin, an intravenous antibiotic, and regular nebulizers. I had a short training course in how to administer my own IVs and came home on Tuesday 15th. I have to do the IVs three times a day, but tomorrow morning is my last one - thank goodness. If I'd not done the course, I wouldn't be coming home until tomorrow (Saturday).

Hope all are reasonably well and looking forward to Easter weekend.

They took me to QMC first Mig, I was there until 11pm having xrays, saline, and other tests, then I was bundled into an ambulance and taken to the City Hospital respiratory ward (Fleming - believe it or not!)

He has a new girlfriend so perhaps that is why he has moved away. Didn't know about his scooter being stolen and hope he got it back safely but they usually get broken down and the parts all sold.

We have a lamb too and OH home made mint jelly (I prefer the real stuff rather than the jelly).

Got a Mars bar egg- reduced to half price.

Hello Kath. So sorry you have been in hospital since 7th April but glad you are on the mend. Make sure you take things easy.

Hello all, chilly here too & yesterday so I am rather grumpy as it's surprising how quickly you get used to the warmth & don't like it taken off you again. Haven't been busy particularly, just chores etc.. bit of gardening, not much.. glad you are making progress with yours barbara, & hope you got something done applerose.. thanks for catching me up with your throat diagnosis (or so far as it goes) & hope you can get somewhere with your gp following it up. Glad you've got the 4 day break. :D

Sorry to hear you have been missing for medical reasons KathT :( Fleming ward, oh dear oh dear.. you are brave to do the IV but I can imagine how keen you were to get out, hope it all goes well & sorts out the 'nasty'.

Hi TK, glad that you're able to get out among lovely places especially as your son likes it & it suits him, sounds beautiful at the Manor. Does look a bit uninspiring on the weather front but we'll see, I have a lot of bluebells this year too, they all trace back to some I 'liberated' from a beauty spot before I knew you shouldn't, oh dear  it was only a very few but of course if we all did it that would be bad.. I suppose it's helping to keep the English variety fend off the Spanish. Quite understand your viewpoint re the friends & you are entirely right imo.

Hi to mig & joan, sorry if I have missed news my reading back has been a bit sketchy, I will catch up again.. have plenty of little eggs for Easter if anyone runs short.. the Easter egg run sounds fantastic I haven't come across it.

Oh well back to normal on Tuesday, didn't dawn on me that there's no post today & sat around waiting for some  not a fan of Bank Hols, all they do is bring home I'm not seeing friends or going somewhere. :( Mustn't grumble though (much).

See you over the weekend, xx :)

That sounds bad Elizabeth. Mine isn't as bad. I just have a tickly cough and every once in a while, can't swallow for a minute or so. Hope your payback clears up quickly. Lots of blossom out round here. Lovely. Haven't seen many bluebells.

Mig, I change a room round now and again. I like a change. Hope the acheyness has gone by tomorrow.

Hope you have a lovely Easter weekend Joan.

Good to see you Kath. We were all wondering how you are. You are brave doing the IVs. Not sure I could. Hope things are much improved.

Hope your OH makes the potatoes and veg so you can have your Easter meal Barbara. Don't know what I'm having as I'm going to my dil's parents. My son and his wife and my GC will be there so it will be a good day. Little Ruby still isn't walking but I guess she should have only been 10 months old. She does pull herself up and walk round the furniture so it won't be long. You've opened an Easter egg? Well why not? I've only got one so I'm saving it till later. After all the carry on with Asd* and me paying £17 for 3 eggs (although I will be getting £7 back any day now), S*insb*rys have reduced them and I could have got them for £7.50. Oh well, it's done now.

Toady, we have had a lovely day here today but we're expecting rain for the next two days. We don't take kindly to the weather changing for the worse, do we? I spent a good bit of time this afternoon in the garden, tidying and weeding and wanted to carry on over the weekend but guess I won't be. I think the bluebells which grow round here are the Spanish ones. I like the English ones better. I thought I was going to feel I should be going out with friends today but I thoroughly enjoyed being in the garden. I'm not a great fan of people at the moment anyway.

Spent quite a bit of time in the lovely weather in the garden today. I kept coming inside for a rest and a drink and sorted out some paperwork and checked f*ceb**k. I get updated on any petitions I might be interested in so signed a few. I always post them on F*ceb**k to try and get more signatures. One of my sisters put a post on asking that if the world was perfect for her, would it be perfect for everyone else? And that you can't please everyone all of the time, eh? Turns out, she was having a go at me and told everyone, I was 'doing her head in'. My other sister and her partner agreed. I don't put posts on complaining about what they say and do. I just ignore anything I'm not interested in. Don't know why my sisters can't do the same.

Anyway, I am not going to let it bother me. I've had a good day today and will on Sunday so I'm happy. :D Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
    Christine
