Just a follow-up to yesterday, not feeling entirely brilliant so have caved in reluctantly & will be off for the steroid shot to bridge the gap between here & next rheumy appt. If they ever come up with one.. as no sign of it, hence the decision to take the stop-gap jab. :? Annoying, as would have been to original appt by now if it had stood.. and would maybe be taking more useful action. Hey-ho.
Hopefully will be a bit more with it shortly so line up the tea, someone.
Love to all & very sorry about your trifle bowl mig.horrid to break a special thing. xx

Steroid injections always work well for me but I keep them for special occasions. Sounds like you are in need Toady?
I usually have to wait 8 months between appointments and a lot can happen in that time.
Got an appt with the respiratory department for May. Never seen them before and think it is to do with my constant coughing. Will have to ask what to expect on LWA.

Oh Mig, it is so annoying to break something but I think more so if you have had it such a long time. Hope you managed to find all the pieces.
Yes, Barbara, at 2 they can be very sweet but also think they know best.Mango's flight is on the 27th so not long now. So your sinuses are still bad. Are you seeing your GP again about it? Hope it clears soon. I often think I should maybe eat the same as the tiny children then maybe I'll have their energy.
Elizabeth, good to hear that you managed a lie in. Hope you enjoyed the sun and your McD. Just finished the crumble. I had it cold this time.
Toady, sorry you're not feeling good. Hope the steroid shot helps and they send your appointment very soon.
Finally got my wheelbarrow put together. One of the bolts wouldn't fit on to the nut so I got another one from the local diy store. Took quite a while because I kept dropping the screwdriver and spanner. Couldn't hold on to them. So it might need a bit more tightening. I've got a big bruise on my arm. I bent my knees so I could get down and have a look at something on the floor. Don't know what happened but I suddenly rolled backwards, sat on the edge of the wash basket which tipped up and hit my arm while I ended up sitting on the floor. I did laugh about it but ouch, my arm hurt. Looks like a huge bite.Christine0 -
Morning all looks like another lovely day..
toady I suspected there was something...just intuition or something you said in one of your other post..I hope you can get this injections soon then you can get some relief...I wounder if its the warm weather or was it coming on before this..let us know how you get on..x
Elizabeth you must really need the sleep..it must just descend on you..good that you got a break at least, I remember you saying ..that the children didn't see much of OHs parents...hopefully this will change
Christine so not long for Mango..sorry you have fell , bruises can be really sore...hope its not...now the barrow we had had loads of trouble lately with part not drilled are things missing..there mustn't be any checks on these things..I have trouble holding things so have put the rubber stuff that you can get on rolls ..on the handles it does help..
Thanks for asking about the sinuses still waiting for the appointment, now going off what the nurse said it was a nasty infection last year that led to this..they have had a few ..some got away with it but a few have had it effect the sinuses..
Just sat here watching the birds on the feeder...there are 4 feeders and one tray ..yesterday I had to keep chasing the pigeons away from the tray..there is a poor dove ..that sit on the wall and doesn't get a look in
The kettle is on ...hope you all have a goodish day..not seen bubbles round hope all is well..Love

Barbara, I'm surprised but my bruise doesn't hurt. Keep forgetting about it. I think when you get something to put together yourself, the parts are all mass produced so a lot of bits don't fit. The man in our DIY only charges a few pence for things like screws and bolts and if there's no-one in the shop, he often gives them for nothing. He's a very useful person for advice too. There was a woman in with 2 outdoor chairs and he was putting them together for her. I often open the back door to chase away the bigger birds. Only problem is the little ones go too. At least they come back if I stay near the door. The big ones sit on the fence and watch.
I like a nice big bowl of trifle. Will be here with my ladle tomorrow.
Kath, hope you feel better tomorrow and ready for trifle.
Went to see my dad today. Think he's got a girlfriend. There was a lady singing old songs and playing guitar in the lounge and everyone was singing along. Then one of the carers came in and gave dad a photo which she'd taken earlier of dad and a lady sitting in the garden. Dad showed me then later said he wanted me to meet her. Not sure what her name is. Dad told me one name and the lady said her name was something else. :?
Oh and I've got a date tomorrow afternoon. Just meeting someone for coffee. Don't know if I want someone in my life though. Quite happy on my own but occasionally think it would be nice to have someone there.Christine0 -
Evening all
have had the you-know-what, so we'll see if by tomorrow I have so much energy I am in here at the crack of dawn washing out all the cupboards and crockery. Thanks for the kind words - yes barbara I haven't been tip-top for a while, my existing meds being presumed to be on the slide somewhat - but then I get a better spell & think I've levelled off again - so it's not straightforward. I don't resort to the jab often TK, & while I've been doing well, haven't needed one. A massive help being able to have it done at GPs now. Will see if it does much, as the confusing thing is, my joints are good at the mo & so are bloods. I've never felt 'off' before without those things being off too. :? Hope you get on well with the respiratory appt especially as it's a new thing.
Anyway, looking forward to trifle mighope you can manage yours Kath (have another ginger biscuit, for now.). A nuisance that they think your sinus troubles are an overhang from the infection barbara
you should have been one of those that 'got away with it', there is no justice. No joan for a day or two? Hope all is ok. Have a nice coffee applerose
, and hope the wheelbarrow is now fine & wheels in a straight line. I do love a nice 'proper' hardware shop. Glad the damage from the washing basket was no worse - I can't 'duck' down/crouch - most annoying but maybe it saves me from that sort of peril!
Love to all (& thanks again for the tea & sympathy, most kind xxx)
By the way I managed some shopping while out so there is salted caramel cake in the tin, & raspberry & white choc muffins.0 -
I do apologise for being AWOL everyone and for this brief post.
I have updated the frogmorton thread if you get time to read it
Promise to get back in the café soon.
Have left some cold meats in the fridge left-over from the 'Do'.
Love and ((()))

Afternoon all
Mig thanks for the trifle..I love the slurp it made when I put my spoon in
Kath I hope you are feeling a little better today after your meds, how long does the sickly feeling normally last
toady..glad to see you have had the jab, and hope it brings you a lot of relief...has well as the energy... my ceiling wants painting..before you rest :chocolate-bunny: ...its does sound very complex suppose that why there are so many questions on here..salted caramel will do nicely...
Christine...you have a date...I do hope he turns out to be really nice..let us know how you get on..and be careful..and your dad has a girlfriend...bless..it will keep him young..how lovely of your DIY shop man to be so helpful ..that is real service....
Toni I am so very thrilled for you and Lucy..I just knew things would go well for you both..and don't worry one bit about posting ...just look after yourself...
Cant get anyone to put a bet on for me ...I do like the national..I wouldn't care but we have a manager of a bookies next door but one..but I missed her this morning..anyhow my money would go on unioniste
a lot cooler here today and my niece has gone to the races...but I am sure she will enjoy...Love

Hello Toni, Christine, Barbara, Elizabeth, mig, Joan, Toady, at least the sun's come back after this morning's rain. But it's still windy.
Mig, lovely trifle, but will have a couple of sandwiches made from Toni's left over meats first. Thankfully feeling much better today, so will also have an Easter egg seeing as there are still some around.:easter-egg: (burp - sorry  )
Joan, I'm sorry to hear you have a tummy upset. The only time my tummy felt cold was when I had gastric flu. But that also made me feel as though I was going to pass out. Hope it soon clears up.
Barbara it's years since I had a little flutter on the GN. But I do love watching it. Problem is, I also enjoy the boat race and they are both on at the same time. Don't really want to record one though. Still it will probably be on the news later.
Toni, well done to one and all. You had some fantastic things for sale, so I would have been very surprised if it hadn't gone well. Tears of joy all round I think.
Toady, hope the jab made you feel better.
Christine, it will be nice to have a bit of companionship now and then. And your dad seems to be enjoying a bit of romance too."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

I'm glad your feeling a bit better.
Have a good weekend.

Toady, hope you are feeling better today. The wheelbarrow is looking good but still in my kitchen. Haven't worked myself up to taking it outside yet so it's being used to put the wash basket on.
I'll have one of your muffins please and a cuppa by the window. Mmmm.
Toni, no need to apologise at all. You have been very busy. You and Lucy and the rest of your family have done so well. Sounds as if it was a fantastic evening. I've left some tissues for everyone on your thread.
Barbara, My date went well. We spent a couple of hours over a coffee and got on quite well. Not sure he's my type though so still trying to decide whether or not to see him again. Did you have a horse in mind for the National? Would you have won anything if you'd got your bet on?
Joan, sorry you're not too well. Maybe you've caught a bug. My GP advises staying away from fruit and dairy and only eating carbohydrates for a day if I catch a bug. Maybe see you GP if you're no better by Monday or before if it gets worse as you don't want to get dehydrated.
Kath, glad you are feeling better today. Enjoy your Easter egg. It's not the same watching a live event which you've recorded, is it? The results of both will be shown a few times I would think. Think it must have been those few days of sun we had, bringing on the romance.Christine0 -
Morning all cloudy here..
Joan sorry I missed your post yesterday I didnt get back in the forum ...by a chill do you mean tummy ache...'I have quite a few tummy troubles and the only thing that helps me is peppermint oil capsules they go everywhere with me..or you could try having a warm drink at night..you might behaving to many cold things..let us know how you are doing...x
Kath don't think I can remember when the boat race was on at the same time..its was annoying..anyhow I managed to put a bet on ..but wish I hadn't bothered it fell at the 5th fence..hope you are doing ok...
Christine..maybe he will grow on you..but if I was you I would just enjoy the company for now...I did have an horse and got a bet on it was Unioniste..but it fell...I didn't hear about it till the end when they went over the race.. :roll:not a clue what I would have won ...
you enjoy your weekend..
Just realised we have middle GDs uniform here so will have to take it to her mummy'sthe2 weeks went so fast..
Hope that the injections is working for toady..Love
Barbara0 -
Cold and cloudy here this morning.
Hope you all pick up soon.
Grilled gammon ,cheesey potatos and broccoli for lunch,we were going to have left over trifle but the bowl has been licked clean ! !
Take care all. Mig0 -
Hello all,
I did see both. Watched the GN, then switched over and saw the end of the ladies boat race, then watched the mens. Well it was on in the background. I was on my laptop and kept half an eye on the telly.
Joan, I hope your tummy problems are easing off. Peppermint can help it as Barbara suggested.
mig, there was some trifle left after I finished. Honest. :?
Toni, I hope you are all getting a good rest after Friday night's hard work.
Cold and windy here, sunny at the moment but could get rain later. I think a bit more chocolate to stoke up the old bod. I shouldn't look, it's not a pretty sight.

Hello everyone,
Sorry Mig, I finished the trifle....and licked the bowl. I did wash it afterwards though. Nice bowl by the way. Wilko's have some great stuff. I got some tall latte glasses to go with my new coffee thingy, for £1 each. Four times that price everywhere else I looked.
Well, cold winds and rain here today. Had three lovely garden days though, and have got a bit of a tan, so can't complain.
Joan, I'm so sorry that you are suffering, but there are lots of sicky bugs about. My grandgirlies have all had it apparently. The littlest one was crying for my son, and when he went in she said....."someone's been sick in my bed daddy". I find ginger teabags are good for upset tummies.
Barbara, sorry about your horse. Mine's still running I think!
Christine, how nice to have a pleasant couple of hours chatting with someone. I've tried it a couple of times, but it has never felt right. After fourteen years, still no one has ever come within a million miles of my precious husband. Also, I've become very comfortable with my own space.
Kath, I've brought in a box of Thorntons chocs that I was given for Easter. Can you help me out? Sorry you got the blame for me finishing off the trifle.
Love to Toady, Toni, Elizabeth and anyone I have forgotten......Cate.x0 -
I'm not so sure he will grow on me Barbara. I think I'm like Cate, spent too much time on my own now and like my own company. And now I want some of Mig's cheesy potatoes and broccoli. It's been cold and wet and windy here too Cate. I went down to the High Street to the farmers' market as there was a new gluten free stall. Got a bit wet but now the rain has stopped. Apparently the sun will be out by tea time.Christine0

Last day of the holidays and have all the uniform ironed. I did most of it before the tiredness hit me again.
Glad the jab is working Toady. I wish we could always ready for action.I'm hit and miss like you and my bloods don't always show how much pain I am in. After all these years with RA I've just given up and drift along now.
Glad the date was okay Applerose even if you aren't sure about a 2nd date.
I missed the GN! I was too busy watching the football scores and forgot. I still haven't seen it!
sorry you have been unwell Joan. Better stick with the milk seeing as that helped a bit.
I sat in the garden earlier but it has gone chilly now.
I'm struggling with the uni stuff now, where to go etc. I'm totally lost because he's not going to get great grades but I want him to continue in education. Also need to get him some work experience sorted.
Kath hope the nausea has eased by now.
Toni but you are exhausted now. I'm going to get a slap on the wrist because I forgot to mention Aston Villa had a player diagnosed with acute leukaemia 3 years back (Stiliyan Petrov), even though you did get the signedshirt from them. Luckily he is now recovered and working for the club although retired from football.
Take care all

Hello Christine Barbara Kathleen Cate Elizabeth and anyone else who's in.
I hope you all had a good day it was a bit cold but nice in the sun.
thank you for your help.

joan xx0 -
Evening all..very cold here and windy
Mig forgot to say we tried the broccoli recipe with cheese it was lovely..you really do bring my appetite back
Cate how lovely your late husband must have been..and so good that you are comfortable with your own space...he would be proud..so you were another one that didnt back the winner...never mind maybe next time...
Elizabeth it would be good for Dan to go on in his education..I remember well my friends daughter she was so intelligent but couldn't concentrate..she had extra tutoring and has a good job now in the revenue..I know they are all different..Apple have recognized there intelligence and are taking people with Autism on because they have such different ideas
Christine its good you like your own company...must say I do like my own space.that sounds like a good farmers market..is it every Sunday..the nearest one to us is every month..
Joan I hope your tummy is feeling better..
The sun has just come out after an awful day...what a cheek
Hope you all have a good evening...xxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Elizabeth, will the school not help with further education and work experience? Hope you get it sorted ok. Sounds as if your weather was the other way round to ours. We had bad weather earlier and sun at tea time.
Joan, glad you got a bit of sun.
Barbara, I had cheesy potato and broccoli after Mig's post. Our farmers' market is once a month and there is one in the nearest bigger town once a month. Must admit, I don't buy a lot. Just the gluten free pies and sometimes eggs.
Oh no, what have I done? The man I had coffee said he wanted to see me again today but I told him I had things to do. He's also said he wants to come with me when I go to Australia and sent a message to say he'll come round and help with what I was doing today. Think I've gone right off him. :?Christine0 -
Morning all
Christine that is not good he is sounding a bit clingy and it such early days..it sounds like he is desperate for company..you will just have to put him of bit by bit..like I said be careful..
At least you have a couple of farmers markets to go at..but they are quite expensive or is that just me that thinks that...
Its a lovely morning here..think it is getting warmer this week thank goodness
My youngest son has his MRI today to see how his spine and hips are...he is working and says its not that painful so that is good...
Better get the kettle on and breakfast started before people come in :bunnye:Love
Barbara0 -
ooh he's pushy Applerose (although he could just be eager). I wouldn't want someone round my house so soon after meeting them. You won't want him to go with you to Australia as that will be a family holiday!
My son is always a bit scared about trying new things, he'd rather avoid them, and uni and work experience are all new things to him. I need to support him but its all new to me too, even though the girls both went to uni I was far too unwell to know what was happening around me! I've thought about extra tuition Barbara, so he gets things explained to him as he doesn't concentrate very well.
I can't find a repeat of the GN anywhere!
First day back and Dan had a load of spots. I'd noticed them a few days ago but had expected them to go by now. OH took him to the walk-in surgery and it is a fungal infection. I couldn't send him to school until I got the all clear.
Are you better now Joan?
Barbara I hope the MRI scan is okay for your Son. How is GD getting on with her work? Any sign of an increase in her salary?
