Hello everyone,
Still no sign of the sun here int' North, but it is fairly mild. Speaking to my son who is work based in London, a couple of days ago and it was 26 degrees. I was putting an extra jumper on at the time! Not fair is it?
Every year at this time when I get summer sandals/flip flops out, I have loads of dry hard skin on my feet. I have tried everything over the years, and just made them sore. Well, I was given a gift pack of travel size all Burts Bees stuff at Christmas. Used the coconut foot cream just twice, and it's like a miracle. Dry skin almost all gone! It's very gloopy so used it at bedtime then put cotton socks on. Have just ordered the big size. Will try the hand cream next, although my eldest grandgirlie said..."You've not got old lady hands Granny". I was ridiculously flattered.
Have managed to lose another four lbs, making a total of just over four stones altogether. It's taking a lot longer now to lose anything, but I still would like to lose a bit more. I have stopped weighing myself and just go by how my clothes fit.
I will have some toast with loads of butter and lime curd, as it's calorie free. Oh and a massive builders. For my tea, I'll have egg and big fat homemade chips, tea and bread and butter.....food of the God's.
Love to you all, and a hope that you are as well as can be......Cate.x0 -
Hello Barbara, mig, cate, christine, and anyone else who might pop in.
It's been a bit cloudy, but we have seen some sun too. I've felt really cold but OH didn't, so hope I'm not coming down with something. :? Don't want to have to delay my jabs on Monday.
Cate, think I'll join you in a large builders - drinking it I mean, not swimming in it.Fancy some egg and chips too, with a big dollop of brown sauce on one side and ketchup on the other. Weight is stable at the moment, but I want to start losing some again.
Barbara, thankfully I haven't felt too bad today, apart from being tired and rather cold. Hope the weather stays good for your trip to Llandudno.
mig, glad you had a good night's sleep. Hope you get another tonight.
Christine, we didn't watch the debate, wish I had now. We watched a program on 5 about Rasputin. Very interesting. Hope your queasiness goes away soon.
Hope Elizabeth, Joan, Toni and bubbles are all OK."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Its very quiet on here today hope everyone is well.
Kath when do you see the good Dr P again ,i see her on 11th of may.
Hope you enjoy your trip Barbara,we are going to the theatre saturday evening to see a "Solid Silver Sixties " show. Mig0 -
That was early to get up Mig but good that you had a good night's sleep.
Barbara, I was told I had 2 problems with my eyes. The gel in my eyeballs has shrunk so some of the fibres which attach them to the retina have come away and are floating about so I can see them. Also the ducts which produce the oil to keep the eyeballs moisturised are blocked so my eyes get dry. It all makes my eyes blurry sometimes. The light from the laptop and supermarket lights don't help. I do wonder if it's anything to do with RA. Oh, you've got a trip away to look forward to. Hope the weather keeps fine for you.
No it's not fair Cate. The good weather should be shared out to everyone. It's not been quite warm enough to get me out in the garden when I've had the time. I've heard that Burts Bees is good but never tried it. How lovely of your GD to say you don't have old hands. When my sister's girls were very small, they used to pinch my mum's skin and laugh because it stayed pinched. Fortunately, mum thought it was hilarious. Wow, you've lost 4 stone. That's fantastic. Well done.
Kath, I'm like you. Can't decide whether to have brown sauce or ketchup so end up having both.Hope you're not coming down with anything.
I'm feeling much better today. My boss didn't have enough money in the house to pay me today so he had to borrow it off his sons. it was just fortunate they're not back at school yet. I came home at lunchtime to have lunch, cleaned my teeth then set off to visit my dad. Got halfway and realised I'd forgotten to put my teeth back in so had to come home again to get them. I'd put them in the container I use at night. Just hope I don't have to take my head off to clean it.Christine0 -
Morning all.Beautiful sunny morning here but very cold yet.Daughter has gone down to London for the week-end meeting friends for dinner and a show.We are out to-night for the sixties show and a meal before hand so no cooking for me today yippee .
Have put kettle on ,there's bacon an eggs for breakfast tuck-in.Mig0 -
Fried egg buttie for me please mig.
No cooking for you is great news
Just popping by to say hello to everyone and hope you are all well.
I am nearly back down to earth now after the charity night, but as you can imagine the bones are now protesting!
Still it was 100% worth it
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
It's lovely when you don't need to cook Mig. Think I'll have an egg buttie too. Yummy. Hope you have a lovely evening.
Hope you are floating down slowly Toni and don't have too much pay back. I'm sure it was every bit worth it.
Got the washing done so off to hang it out. It's still a bit chilly but it's supposed to warm up so it should dry. Hope I can get out in the garden for a bit today. Mango has just had his flight confirmation through. Makes it seem more real that he's off to the other side of the world. A week on Tuesday.Christine0 -

Hello mig, Christine, Toni, Barbara and anyone else who pops in.
mig, I don't see her until May 18th, exactly one week after you. Shame we don't have the same day. My appointment is at 1pm. Not really looking forward to it as she might lower my Pred dose to 7.5mg from 10mg. :?
Barbara, it's good when you get a regular place to stay, where you know the people and the routine. Makes you feel a bit more secure. I can practically smell your egg and toast and it's making me hungry. So far I've had Cheerios, a veggie burger with onions, an apple and a cheese and onion quiche, and a choc ice. I have some cheese and onion sandwiches for later. I always feel more hungry on a Saturday for some reason.
Christine, I hope mango has a safe and comfortable journey.
Toni, I am amazed at the amount you raised. Time to get some rest now.
Hope all are having a good weekend and that Joan's tummy is better.
Love to all. xx"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

I didn't get back to the cafe did I? I was out like a light again so only Thursday was a good day last week. I do get fed up with the side effects Barbara, the fatigue and coughing is a nuisance but I am relieved the knees and hips feel so much better.
What can I say about forgetting your teeth Applerose?
Our boiler is 11 years old now, the hot water issue I only noticed it last Summer so maybe it is going to need replacing.
Yes it was 26 degrees here in West of London.I had to drag myself out of bed Wednesday as the kids were due home and I just sat in the Sun and I could not move at all the fatigue was so bad.
I kept all the T shirts from M&S so now I do not have to hunt around looking for something that fits. Funnily enough the 2 cheaper T shirts were the best fit and quality and the more expensive were thin material but I decided to keep them all.
Kath i also get people telling me their life stories especially in supermarkets. I always listen and maintain eye contact as you never know what life they have. I'm also never lonely but I know that day could come eventually. I also love to read and have a backlog of books to catch up on.
Hope Toady is okay.
Love to Joan and Frog.

Barbara, I did have a bridge but the tooth holding it on one side snapped and they couldn't replace it. I was hoping to have a lie-in but my body clock woke me up at 6 and wouldn't let me get back to sleep. Travelling does get more worrying doesn't it but you know the place and that you will be comfy. Hope you had a good day out.
Kath, I think I feel more hungry at the weekend because I have more time to think about eating. Had to take myself out in to the garden this morning as all I could think of was food. Hope your appointment goes well and they don't reduce your Pred if it's not what you want.
Glad your tummy is better now Joan. It was sunny but cold here today too but my next door neighbours were out sunbathing in their bikinis. Brrrrr!
I think you did the right thing, Elizabeth, sitting in the sun. No point pushing yourself when you are fatigued and might as well make the most of the good weather. I often find cheaper clothes are better than more expensive ones. At least you have a few to choose from now.
Managed to get most of the patio cleaned up today. I have a terrible habit of just leaving everything at the end of autumn so end up with a lot to do at this time of year. And I took down an old venetian blind, drilled and plugged holes and hung up a new roman blind. Took a while as the drill needed charging half way through drilling.Christine0 -
Morning everyone!!
There's so much to catch up on I am confused!! Might be I am just confused!!
Yesterday the just-giving site received a boost of £50 which was lovely and so kind also someone gave me a cheque (cure leukaemia) for £50!!
When it's all in there will only be thank you letters to do
I too leave everything in autumn Christine in the garden and pay for it in the spring. Poor Mango having to fly, but he will be with his family soon bless him.
I hope Elizabeth, that the fatigue lifts soon ((())) thank you for thinking of me
Joan I am so glad your tummy is settled now. Sunny here, but not as hot as it was too.
KathT I promise I am trying to rest up now.More hungry on a Saturday?? I wonder why? How odd. Still there's no harm keeping your energy levels up is there?
Barbara - pegging out is definitely harder these days - I often go for putting things on the air-er and pushing that outside. Organising bug?? No!!! I say never again hahahah!
Love to you all and ((()))

Morning all..what is going on with the weather..beautiful yesterday and cloudy and cold this morning...suppose it is England.. :?
Kath hope you didnt have anything coming on..you are right about going on holiday to places you you know..at one time we used to pack and go and find something there...it means we are limited..but at least we get away..
Toni I somehow dont believe you will never again..I am still amazed at the amount you all raised..do you think you will be able to fit a little holiday this year..I do hope so
Christine..I dread that happening to the bridges I have..note to myself stop eating hard toffeesgood for you getting the jobs done...we are the same do nothing in winter then spring is took up with jobs..bet you are really pleased with yourself...
Joan glad to see your tummy is still ok...now we had the sun yesterday and I think today is going to be cold..so maybe you will have the sun and get out on your scooters
Elizabeth you really do need that sleep, good you could keep all the T shirts..I do a lot of clothes shopping online and hate sending things back..hope todays a good one..
We had the baby round yesterday..and she came in with a bunch of daffs and a very pale cream flower not a clue what bulbs I put in...she thinks its great fun and so do I
..its a long time since my other GD were doing the same..and we have our middle GD in bed..she did some jobs for me yesterday in exchange for a book she wanted...
I will put the kettle on and warm the grill..more eggs for me I think..Love

Hello all, sun has come out but I can't be bothered to do anything today. Stayed up a bit later last night (twenty past nine) just to watch BGT. didn't sleep well as I needed the bathroom 3 times and I had a pain on the left side, might be ribs, might not. Anyway, I'm tired. Tomorrow is booster jabs and blood test at GP surgery.
Hope all have sunshine and are having a restful weekend."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Don't really know what to say about last nights show without putting people off who might see it in the future, lets just say we won't be going to any more.
Anyway its very cloudy here could rain.Sausage and mash today, not eating till about 5 when daughter is back. Mig0 -
Evening all we will be off to Llandudno in the morning..only till Thursday OH is working Friday..but I will have my GD tablet with me me so hopefully will be able to post..
Kath I hope that pain ease for you, on top of everything else  hope the blood results are good ..ask them to test your kidneys function just in case you have some form of infection ..having to keep going to the toilet in the night...I enjoyed BGT last night then same has you off to bed..
Mig what a shame you have enjoyed everything else you have been to,ts annoying when they turn out like this one...never mind I am sure you will another on the agenda soon and good luck with the test..I have just had sausage and mash...cheesy mash..oh had chips...
Its says minus 3 tonight here...Love
Barbara0 -
Just a quick hello to everyone and to wish barbara a good trip tomorrow
yes it's gone much colder today, next 3 days look better.. if you can believe it. Sounds as if you had best not bring us back rock this time if none of our teeth are up to it! Can we have fudge or coconut ice please.
Glad you got some t-shirts that were alright TKthere were some ok things in store but I noticed that half the things I looked at the sizes were not well stocked, even if I'd wanted anything. And they had some of the worst most lacklustre mannequins ever, looked chucked together with no styling at all. Hope Lucy's blood test is ok with nothing 'untoward' and it rules some things out.
Kath hope you're feeling better, the cold didn't turn out to be one I guess? But the being kept awake isn't fair so something is being a bother. :? Hope you sleep better and get to your appt tomorrow ok. Followed your lead and had cheese & onion quiche today. There were 3 lots of onions in your Sat menu I noticed. I guess they're good for something (anti-inflammatory?) so why not.
I got my carpet samples (well 4 of the 6 I ordered  ) but nothing quite right I don't think, sent for a different lot, if I can't decide after that I'll have to pick one and lump it. Also testing paint for that room, something else I won't be able to decide on. Still, nice just to get the ancient carpet up, some really grim old felt underlay with it. Well done applerose for replacing your blind, you made that sound easy! Like, hey presto, one down, new one up, all done. Must try and do the same instead of making heavy weather of everything. I can imagine the laptop doesn't help your eyes, which is so unfair; as if we need our indoor/sedentary pursuits taken the edge off. Hope all goes well with Mango.
Sorry your 'thing' was not enjoyable mig, I hope the meal was ok anyway. Unless that was part of the not right-ness. I expect the sausage and mash was lovely but of course that's not the point really when it's your own hard work!
Hello frogglad the tallying-up is still going on! You'll have had no time for gardening so I hope your plants are looking after themselves til you can get to them. I see everyone is leaving their patios etc untidy over winter, me too. Still, I once read that Diarmuid Gavin left his own garden for so long when he moved without doing anything to it that the agent (for the other new homes) complained he was putting other buyers off! Cheers you up!
Thanks for the Burts Bees recommendation Cate, I think I once bought some for someone else, so will have to try it myself. Well done with the diet.
Hello to joan and hope sue is still going on ok.
Definitely chilly this evening so a hot cuppa is called for, will leave kettle on xxx0 -
It does get confusing when there's lots to catch up on Toni. Don't worry though. It's good that there are still donations coming in. I've sometimes put things out on an airer too. Means I don't have to carry it all to the bottom of the garden.
I know Barbara. It was freezing here today after a decent day yesterday. My dentist told me to be careful and not to bite hard things. Then there's an advert saying if you use fixer to hold your denture in place, you can bite hard apples etc. :? Aaaw, how lovely of your GD to bring you a bunch of flowers. It's good that your other GD does jobs for you. She is a help for you. I heard there could be a ground frost here. Hope Llandudno is warm. Have a good break.
Kath, you do go to bed early. Thought I did at 10pm. Hope the pain has gone now and you sleep better tonight.
Oh Mig, so the show wasn't very good? How disappointing.
Hope you do find a carpet you like Toady. I'm very very fussy when it comes to expensive things like that. The blind wasn't too easy. Took me quite a while, making sure I got the hooks in the right place and it all lined up. Good to know I'm not the only one who leaves the end of season garden work till the beginning of the next season. If celebrity gardeners can do it, so can we.
I got my son to pick me up on the way back from my GS's football match. My dil had gone out though with my 2 GDs so I didn't get to see them. Was nice to sit and chat with my son and GS though. Got home and cut the grass but it there was a freezing wind so just did it quickly. And got a bit more ironing done. I'll be glad when polling day is done. I've been getting leaflets through the door every day for a couple of weeks now.Christine0 -
Hello, mig, Barbara, Toni, Toady, Christine.
Mig, hope you have a good trip to Llandudno and that the weather stays fine.
Barbara, they do test my kidney function as part of my MTX monitoring. I think I need the loo so often is because I drink a lot of water. Especially during the night, as I tend to sleep with my mouth open.
The extra blood test I needed was a repeat of FBC. Some numpty at the hospital tested the sample incorrectly so it had to be done again.
As for jabs, pneumovax again obviously, but HIb isn't a flu jab in spite of its name. It's a meningitis C jab. Only way to get antibodies for HIb. Should also boost my tetanus antibodies. Retest in 4 weeks.
Started off cold and foggy first thing. But it turned sunny and warm so we sat on a bench waiting for my appointment time, eating ice cream.
Hope all those who haven't been on (Elizabeth, Joan, cate, bubbles) are all OK."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Kath, sorry you've had to have a retest. Having one is bad enough. It was cold here this morning but warmed up for an hour or two later. Hope you enjoyed your ice cream.
Hope you're enjoying the sun Mig.
Hope you're having a good day too Joan.
Yes, it's Barbara who is away. Hope they've enjoyed their first day.
Hope everyone else is ok.Christine0 -
Hello everyone, lovely warm day today here.
Robin was singing at the very top of the highest tree, little show-off. Then he came down very near me, had a little bird bath, and hopped on every pot I'd been digging over in case I was turning up interesting things. Lovely.
Got a few things done, last coat of paint in my utility (looks so much better), finished washing the floorboards down in the spare room and put half the underlay down. Sold an e*ay item so I am just having a cup of tea & going to finish packing it up.
Hope it is being warm & sunny for barbara and they had a good journey.
Kath sorry about your repeat test, I hope the phlebotomist had a good day & it wasn't painful. Mine on Thurs probably, not that they'll show much. Has the twinge gone? Glad you had some ice-cream.
Joan, one of the carpet samples I liked they have sold out of now, so my choice will be more limited. Shame, I was thinking it might be nice for the stairs, doubt they will have it in again. Oh well as you say there is lots more out there!! I'll see what the next samples are like. Hope you have had a good day and had some sun.
Applerose, glad you had a nice catch-up with your son & GS. Hope he had a good match.Well done with your hasty grass-cutting. I have started some very sketchy gardening, late plantings as usual. Just ordered some runner beans - minnow variety, 'weeny beany'. We'll see how they do. Here's a story I saw in the news that might amuse you, sort of.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-32348847
and I saw this lovely tortoise story, others may have seen it too but if not.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-32371820 (how would a tortoise show it was pleased to be reunited with its owner, I wonder
.
Hello to mig, Cate, and anyone passing. xx0 -
