I went food shopping yesterday and boy did I suffer when I got home. I could barely walk so I'm resting up today to give the legs/feet a chance to recover.

Anyway duty done and cupboards stocked up although it won't last long the way my brood eat!

I hope you have found the right carpet sample Toady. I just chose neutral all the way through the house which was a blessing after living with other people's cut offs and old carpet for a couple of years.

Kath I'm another who has to get up throughout the night several times. Its not easy! and I also sleep with my mouth open. My snoring has got louder and louder but I explain its because my throat gets so dry.

Okay what shall I have for luch. I think there is Chinese that is just in date, otherwise It will be mackerel (which I love),

Hi TK, joan, mig & barbara. Just called in for a coffee. Hope the mackerel is nice TK, and best for today's jab. Mtx for me later. :? Yes I've got 'other people's carpet & odd bits' syndrome here too, still a couple of rooms to go before there's nothing that old left. Got my new samples today, haven't looked at them yet. Too many jobs to do now its sunny and if I start pondering carpets I'll get nothing else done.

Hope it's warm for barbara, wonder if you have decided on the scooter. Yes, wish me and mig (and anyone else that would like) were there, we should have invited ourselves.

Got a very nicely reduced price easter egg from the milkman :D so I'll divvy it up & save a bit for Kath if she comes in.

No idea about lunch, there would not be much I could have out of mig's mixed grill I don't suppose.. so I will have to peer into the fridge.

Wow, you have been busy Toady. Hope your robin found some tasty treats in the plant pots. What a shame you can't have the carpet you want. I'm sure you'll find something nice though. All I've got new gardenwise are 6 tomato plants and 4 red peppers. Thanks for the links. Guess the world would seem a bit strange without gluten. Yes, maybe we should all have gone with Barbara. You just got another Easter egg? Has the milkman been hiding them?

Glad you arrived safely Barbara. Hope you are enjoying your break.

Hope your aunt found a hat for the wedding Mig.

Joan, hope the weather is good with you and you managed to get out in it for a while.

Elizabeth, I remember the food didn't last long with the kids at home. Hope you manage to rest up now. I love Chinese food.

It was so lovely after work, I went to sit in the garden for a bit before tea and ended up cutting a plant next to the pond right back. Can't remember what it's called but it looks like a better version of privet. it had grown too big and was blocking everything behind it. The pond looks more open now.

Hello mig, christine, Toady, Elizabeth, Joan, Barbara. Hope all are reasonably well.

Deary me Mig, what will we do with our husbands? Mine is always going on about excess facial hair and loss of hair on head - me that is, not him. :x

Christine, was the plant a Box, bit like a privet but with a smaller leaf?

Toady, thanks for thinking about me and saving me a bit of your Easter Egg.

Elizabeth, I hope you went with the Mackerel. It's my favourite too, although I'm also rather partial to a bit of Salmon or smoked Haddock.

Joan, I'm glad you are feeling better now.

Barbara, hope Llandudno is good and that you are having a good time.

Went to T**co this morning. Had a bad night with my sinuses. Kept OH awake, he wasn't very pleased. :? I felt absolutely dreadful, didn't take any pain killers and could hardly walk. Breathing was difficult too. I was worried I might be starting with another pseudomonas colonisation. Used my blue inhaler when I got home, and after a bit of a sit down, started to feel better. It could be the side effects from the jabs I had on Monday.

Mine isn't very pleased with my snoring Kath. He gets up early saying he can't sleep  But I am sorry you are having such a lot of sinus and breathing trouble and I know just how aful it is. It could well be the jab.

We had the chinese in the end and even after this great big meal OH wanted another meal! so i'm sitting here eating the mackerel. I love smoked haddock just as much Kath.

lucky you Toady for getting a reduced Easter egg. i had a look when I went shopping but think I'm a bit late now. I never look online at the milkman's page even though we get a pint a day delivered (just incase). I'm sure if I looked more often I'd see some offers.

The sun has gone from here so maybe likewise for you Toady and you got to see those samples? I'm trying to have a break from buying furniture even though Son's room needs a few tweaks.

Toni must still be busy counting the pounds unless she has pushed herself too much and is now suffering. I hope not.

Can't say I get many if any compliments from the OH-I'm almost twice the size from when we met so I can't argue. Would like a few thankyou's now and then!

    Love to all
    Elizabeth xx

Ooh, quiet. Will take advantage by not worrying about clattering the cups while washing up - I may even sing. :D Hope no-one is in one of the cafe beds at the moment.

Not as nice a day but still warm Have been poking around the garden a bit and finished laying underlay. I have looked at my carpets, thanks TK. And looked. And looked. You know how it is, the more you look the less you can 'see' - hard to visualize something on the scale of a whole room. But I may have made a decision. If not, barbara will help when she gets back. ;) Yes, I do get a few bargains from the milkman but if it's end-of-line things they often don't turn up. Worth looking though. Just wish they still did some fruit & veg.

Applerose, my jobs were only little ones or bits of them - e.g. the painting was only one wall not all. Funnily enough, one of my 2nd lot of carpet is identical to the out-of-stock colour from the other firm. Under another style/name (not v helpful) - so I may still get it for the stairs. If they still have it when I get round to it that is. A lot of these firms are the same umbrella company under other names so probably not surprising they have the same stuff. Sounds like a satisfying bit of chopping back in the garden. Box is lovely, if that is what it is, wouldn't mind some. :) The milkman wasn't hiding his easter eggs, just not reducing them far enough for my miserly liking.

Sorry your sinuses were bothering you Kath and hope it is just the jab effects, not that that's good, but hopefully temporary. Glad you felt better the egg was nice (white choc with dark decoration).

Mig hope you had a good family day out despite the, er, bad start. Shopping I hope? Or just coffee & chatting today.

No joan today, hope all's well - love toady xx

Hope you had a good day with your aunt and sister Mig. Typical man.

Kath, no it wasn't box. I've been searching to try and find it and am thinking it was actually variegated privet. Sorry you haven't been too well. Hope things have improved now.

Elizabeth, there wasn't an Easter egg to be had round here a couple of days after Easter weekend. The shelves were almost empty a few days before. I think people should still compliment each other and say please and thank you no matter how long they have been together. And it shouldn't have anything to do with what size you are.

What a lovely voice you have Toady. I find if I look for too long, I can't pick something. I usually end up just picking any one. Sounds as if you've found one for the stairs. When I had my living room floor laid, the man who fitted it told me that Fr*nks Flooring was actually lots of small companies under the same name.

Went to see those lovely vampires, the blood transfusion people at teatime to donate a pint-ish. Told them that I now use eye drops and had taken 2 paracetamol yesterday morning so I had to wait to see the nurse to check if it was still ok for me to donate. The nurse who put the needle in hurt my arm and it was sore during the whole donation. I told the nurse who came to take the needle out and the nurse was called over to check I was ok. It has been put on my record for them to check next time. That's 46 pints donated. :D

Hello joan, it's a nice day here but they say it will change again which is a shame. I may be able to order my carpet tomorrow, I am just having to think about which day I can manage someone delivering it.

Hello to anyone who pops in later :) I am just going to have a late cheese & tomato sandwich & a pot of tea. Possible salt & vinegar crisps if anyone is interested. :D

Applerose no-one has ever said that about my rendition of Right Said Fred before.:lol: I was moving a china cabinet yesterday so anything like that always brings it to mind. Classic. :D
Amazed that you have given so much blood! I think I remember you mentioning it but 46 pints is brilliant (a lot more than an armful!) Sorry it was painful though, hopefully a fluke? My Dad was a long-time donator, I never started & no-one would want any of mine unfortunately. :?

Hope to get in the garden later for a little while, my runner bean seeds arrived but I will pot them up first. Hope there's enough sun for anyone else to get outdoors if wanted. xx

    One word - bleugh.

I could hardly do anything this morning. I did try. Felt sick, temperature was 38, head fit to burst. Slept most of the morning as I couldn't function at all. Took a couple of paracetamols and temp went down to 37.4. Managed to eat some chicken, but was still suffering. So went back to sleep again. Things aren't too bad now, but I'm not having my MTX tonight. Will see how things go tomorrow. I thought it was pseudomonas, but sputum is clear so hopefully it isn't that. Heating has been on for an hour, but I'm still cold. :?

Hope everyone else is feeling okayish.

    Good morning everyone,

Haven't posted recently, as I've been spending every minute in the garden, and my ipad isn't working outside. I'm useless with technology, so will have to wait for my son to sort it when he's next home. He said it's quite simple mum. Well, so am I lad so I'll wait for you!!

Barbara, so pleased you've had a good time. You sure picked the best of the weather. It's all set to change now apparently.

Kath, you don't sound good at all love. Perhaps the warmer weather has affected your breathing. Rest up, and eat plenty of choc.

Christine, I've sent for the BB stuff. Only problem is I'm getting inundated with emails from them, and there's no guarantee we'll even get the freebie. Clever marketing there. I've started using the hand cream now, and like the foot cream, it's really good. Again though it's thick and creamy, so I'm using it at night and putting cotton gloves on.

Is that the cat crying? Oh sorry, it's our Toady singing about Fred. Just kidding Toady, you've the voice of an angel!

Elizabeth, the way you worry and care for your lovely children I'm surprised you're not as skinny as a rake.

OK Barbara, what have you got cooking? An egg and bacon buttie? Aye alright then, and don't forget me builders. You're a smashing cook.

Love to Joan, Toni and anyone else I've missed.....Cate.x

Welcome back barbara! Nice to see you :D excuse my becoming overexcitable. ;)

Glad you had a lovely time and at least fitted in the coach trip, sounds nice. :) I've bought a new kettle while you've been gone so I will make you an inaugural cup of tea. Well, when it gets here, I will. :D Then you have an excuse to break off from the laundry etc to talk to toady.

You've been busy in the garden Cate. I have just bought some seeds so at least I sound busy, as I have done hardly anything. Wild rocket, chinese chives, french lavender, mixed double poppies, and cinnamon basil. I'm letting a square patch of lawn grow wild so will chuck a few things in amongst that.

Sorry to hear you have still been feeling poorly :( and hope to hear better news of you soon. xx

Hope joan & TK are both alright today, will leave kettle going in case for applerose or any other callers.

ps - anyone complimenting my singing voice, your hearing is clearly not what it should be

Joan, how lovely getting new carpet.

Did you order your carpet Toady? I started donating blood in my late 20s so it's taken me 30 years. At that rate, I'll be 90 when I get my 100 badge. Wonder if they'll still want it then? Must get some seeds sown this weekend but the weather forecast isn't looking good and I don't have my greenhouse now. Love your pom pom smilies. Thanks for leaving the kettle on. I'll sit and drink it while I make an appointment to get my hearing checked.

Kath, you don't sound too good at all. Hope it clears up soon.

Welcome back Barbara. Sounds as if you had a good time even though you didn't go far. Don't think you need to though. Glad you got your amytriptaline. I'm sure your washing will wait a day or so.

Cate, the youngsters do think technology is very simple, don't they? My GD showed me how to add an app to my phone but I needed a password which I needed to get from home. Got home and couldn't do it. I sent for the BB cream too. Oh no, haven't heard anything from them yet. Not looking forward to lots of emails.

Called in to Ald* this afternoon and bought a pack of 2 pillows which had been reduced to £3.49. I do like a bargain. Keeping my fingers crossed that we all get good weather this weekend.

Not sure how up to date I am!!

Sorry for being AWOL, but in some respects Elizabeth you are right. This 'do' has been pretty hard on me - afterwards!!!

Still the figure so far is up to

£5,378.55p without the Cure Leukaemia tins so expecting it to rise a tiny bit more :)

Glad to see Barbara is home - not glad to hear how rough KathT is :( I hope you will see the doc if needs be Kath??

Good to hear Joan and Sue have lovely new carpet - I love the smell and that Mig has been seeing family :)

Toady I also loved the pom-pom smileys welcoming Barbara home :)

Christine I too need to do more in the garden. so far no rain here either.

It's still sunny here....I thought it was supposed to be raining by now? Mind it is colder.

Am meeting some friends for a cuppa at a garden centre today so might get 'something' for the garden then :)

    Love to you all
