Definitely Kath. Hope all is ok. My regards to City Hospital, I worked there for many years. That corridor was SO long and still is I guess. I have scones and best butter on ice. That's a lovely picture, I like black and white pictures. It looks a hot day and I am sure Smutty and Goldie were much loved.
Tadpoles in the potion Mig  dare I ask what the end result will be come Halloween :?
Don't you just LOVE Bette Middler..............anyway, Toni, it's up to you if tadpoles go in, I don't think there is anything in the pharmacy that will cure it come All Hallows Hope you got to the Audiology appt ok.
Lunch was lovely, we know the place so well, (as you can imagine), I decided to have haddock, well, it was reminiscent to the size of a whale I did think I would receive some kind of reward for managing to wade through it. OH had a full English, Mum IL hat home made soup and FIL had Liver and bacon with mash and green beans (Liver...........eeeewwwwwwwww). Anyway, everyone loved it all. Why we ordered two side portions of fries I will never know - Needless to say there were no cakes involved.
Whizz round Tes*** in the buggy and then home. Cats all sorted and resting. So, if you don't mind I will just go and rest on the settee. Everyone take lots of care, XXX Aidan

Toni, that's a beautiful rainbow. Thank you for ordering a toad and looking out for my tadpole babies. You are so right. Not one of us has put on any weight. We are all beautiful slim people.
Aiden, aah Ner*'s do them? I always ask for a frappe in C*st* and they always ask what I mean. I didn't realise cats were good swimmers. My sister was telling me her cat brought her a half a rabbit the other day then she found a headless mouse under the cat's bed. At least your shoes were a decent price and I'm sure they put the wrong size on the trousers. Nothing wrong with coffees and lunches out. Hope there aren't any of my tadpoles in that potion. You don't look like how I pictured you.
Oh Mig. I'll have to keep a close eye on my baby frogs. If any go missing, I'll be sifting through the potion looking for them.
Yes Joan, it's been beautiful here today. I think we're getting a couple more good days.
Kath, Smutty looks like a lovely cat. Did he get on ok with Goldie? Hope it goes well tomorrow. I'll be at work but will be thinking of you.
Barbara, another hospital trip? Will it be long before they let you know the results? I've sometimes been told to drink plenty and turn the tap on to help with the sample but it still didn't work. What a lovely GD you have doing all the cleaning.
Got to T*sc* just as a car with flashing lights and sirens arrived. It was a paramedic. Didn't see why they were there though. As I got on the bus to come home, a lady who had just got off, tripped and fell so the bus driver and I had to lift her up. I was a bit worried I'd put my back out again but I was ok. Spent some time out in the garden this afternoon. It was lovely. Just pottered - a bit of weeding, added a few more bricks to my wall (might take a few weeks at this rate) and watered the garden filling the pond up a bit.Christine0 -
mig wrote:Well Poldark we have been working on a potion to get rid of miserable old gits (know any) I live with one. Mig
well, I have known a couple over the years.
I am sure it will be highly effective, seeing as the pharmacy doesn't have any anti miserable git pills. That's as long as no frogs are nicked. Toni is right, toads are order of the day, big warty ones.
I don't know why it is not possible to wee when someone says "wee" Barbara. Protein in wee is sometimes caused by medication, especially ones for high blood pressure. It's a fuss and bother going back and forth, with your little samples  Hopefully your wound will cool down, if there are no breaks in the skin, some arnica gel would help, health shops will sell it, (better than the one from Bo***).
Glad you like the piggy, that's just how I felt when we got home, but you are right, not one of us has put an ounce on. (might be different when I go back for Diabetic check up next week, lol). Mind you, the care assistant that does the bloods and wee tests and weighs you, is hardly a waif herself, so any comment on weight and I will be saying kettle calling pot black love. :x
Cats will fetch things back home, all sorts of creatures. Our Siamese caught a lizzard when we were in France, it must have come in through a gap in the wall. She didn't harm it, just wandered around with it  Sounds like a bit of a drama at Tes***, hopefully your good deed, helping the lady, will not make your back shout.
The bricks will get higher, it will be the towers of Babel before you know it
Well, I will potter a bit more. Took a while to get one of the cats out of the dryer, like is it not warm enough already. OH was in a lather earlier when I was drying the washing and creating even more heat. I see we are in for around 22 degrees, so I will be a pool on the floor. :too-hot:
Home day Thursday, OH wants to get in the garden, the neighbours will be out at the crack of dawn mowing the lawn, so theirs is done first - yes, I know, a wee bit sad, but, the world is made up of lots of different folks I guess.
Everyone take care, enjoy the fine weather XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Morning all I can use these now.. :hammock: :splash: heee
Aiden when you last mentioned arnica gel I went out and got some..but keep forgetting to use it..I did take the arnica tabs when in hospital and after I came out.I think the blood test are something to do with this kidney reading again..I usually ask but forgot.. hope you can keep cool today...not easy do you get the fans out or not..ours are covered in dust somewhere ...I used to have nightmares about the cats getting in the dryer and me not noticing..
Christine I am sure the bloods will get sorted..isnt the weather lovely at last..I love pottering in the garden but that is where I, normally fall so will be extra careful..I hope that back is ok you should have said something not easy I know...hope your sons car gets sorted soon they must feel lost without it..
Joan..I have 2 of my toes strapped up still waiting to see the foot lady..she was makin g an insole for my shoe..think we need putting in a bag and shaking up you enjoy this lovely weather..
Going voting in a min..I dont turst any of them so we will see..

Barbara, no worries about being late. I made up doggy bags and put them in the 'fridge. :sunny:
Aiden, back to smutty, his favourite 'present' for us, often found tucked under the edge of the living room carpet (no fitted carpets in the 1950s) was worms! :?
Christine, Smutty never officially met Goldie. Our little back yard wasn't suitable to hold pet parties in.

Hi Joan Barbara Kath Elizabeth Mig Toni Christine
It is a warm one today. Oh yes, we have fan's on Barbara, three on at the moment, three extractors going. It is like here's summer, in one fell swoop. We do have a portable Air Conditioner, for when we cannot stand it any longer. You have to wheel it about and vent it through a window, but it is a God send. We actually found it in a Heart Foundation charity shop, advertised for £20, as a fan. I thought that is not just a fan, so we snapped it up. £200 from Arg**, bargain, happy days. Having just had a cup of T I am now all of a glow :too-hot:
I always look in the dryer before it is turned on, it is always kept shut when off. It has a light in so at least any cats can be seen, trying to sneak in.
hope the arnica is helping Barbara
Oh, worms Kath, under the rugs, oh bless, I think  Cats are the most wonderful creatures. Don't worry about getting smaller, it is happening to us all. I was 6 foot 2, but now I am just about 6 foot, like where did I go?
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, says me, hiding behind closed curtains. I am wrinkle phobic lol so best keep out of the sun.
Take care, one and all. XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Good afternoon Aidan
A light in the dryer? you are posh!!!
I check before I put any of my machines on I have got into the habit.
I have a piccie somewhere of Daisycat in ours when she was a kitten.
We have an air-con like yours we have always had one for Lucy to keep her cool and we have really used it while she's been ill. I know it's not true, but I don't want her to overheat with the epilepsy.
That is the downside of single storey living I think....HOT!!
Kath - worms??!! YUKKY!! Daisycat never did worms....a dead moorhen, the magpie up to 4 'ordinary' birds a day, many mice etc, but never a WORM!!
Still shrinking eh? I think we all do in the end don't we? I know I have
Barbara let me know if you need yanking out :hammock:
Is your kidney function still dropping then? Oh will they just keep an eye?
I took Lucy for her first ever vote today
Hope the foot lady hurries up :?
Thank you Joan I did have a good day I hope yours was too. Glad your Dad forgave you after his cuppa
Perfectly formed all of us Christine in fact if any of us turned sideways......
Of course the babies must be protected anyway the toad should be here soon for MIg
Well done for doing a little more of the wall.
Gosh I am glad you could help the lady, but even gladder it didn't hurt YOU!!
Love

Aiden, I always seem to get weighed by a larger nurse and she always says there's nothing wrong with my weight. Doesn't help when you know you should lose a pound or two. I think my neighbours think I'm a bit mad as I keep my grass a couple of inches high for the insects and I cut round any wild flowers and they say "You've missed a bit." The air conditioner certainly was a bargain.
Joan, hope you, Sue and the dogs are enjoying the lovely weather.
Barbara, you be careful in the garden. Don't want you falling. The car is all sorted now. My son was paying a lot of money for the other one but this one was much cheaper to buy and to run. He told me it was a weight of his shoulders getting the new one. How long will it be before you get your insoles?
Kath, worm presents? Yuk. Sounds as if you keep stretching and shrinking.
Toni, Lucy's first vote? It's good that she is taking notice of things. Glad the toad is on it's way. Went to check on the tadpoles and didn't see any. Do you know where the key is so I can check they aren't in the potion?
Another beautiful day and another little potter. In the front garden this time. Watered both front and back. Wonder if it's the weather. An ambulance came past me this morning with lights flashing and turned in to the pensioners bungalows and on my way home, a fire engine flew past. Been to vote at teatime. They said hardly anyone had been in. We were only voting for the PCC and I think a lot of people don't know what that is or feel it is a waste of time so haven't bothered.Christine0 -
Evening to one and all and what a warm one it is too. I am having a "moment", after soup and garlic bread.
Yes Toni, I was surprised when the dryer came and it had a light in. I have major issues with it, as in it refuses to work properly for me. I can stand there for ages pressing start, it starts, then stops, then starts, stops.....................OH presses it and it works :? I have had them come out to it, they said it's fine and it did everything the engineer asked of it. Soon as he had gone, I pressed start, then it stopped...................................an ongoing saga.
They are worth their weight in gold the Air con machines. My GP in France said, try not to get too hot - difficult when we had temperatures of 45 degrees. :too-hot: I have a feeling that it will be coming out of the wardrobe tomorrow - I know I am a party pooper, but I do prefer Autumn, Winter and Spring. Summer is no fun at all.
At least we are all shrinking  at the same time,
I used to cut round the clover, so that the bees could get the nectar from the flowers. That's back in the day when we had a huge garden at the Rectory. It was an all day job.
I think we will, well, the Royal we, will be watering in the next day or so. Pots dry out so quickly and everything is growing at a rate of knots now. I might, might, venture out into the garden if we have a cloudy day.
Off out for coffee and scones tomorrow at the posh garden centre, then to another nursery to see what they have for our hanging baskets. Then pick up repeat Px, then go to Boo**, then get some Chia seeds, then vets, then home. That will be more than enough for one day.
Right, I will potter a little and try and keep cool.
Take care, everyone. Slip, slap slop with the sunscreen :sunny:
XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning Christine
The key? Ok (don't tell anyone), it's behind the coffee machine on the left hand side. I can't see Mig taking the tadpoles though....the toad has arrived.
I'm a bit unsure about doing my garden.....after all.....all things being equal it won't be mine soon :? I so want to potter though
Yes Lucy's first vote. They told us that the turnout had been low too.
Good Morning Aidan
It's a shame about you struggling with heat...get the aircon out ASAP I hear it's set to get warmer
So the tumbler as it in for you then? Naughty thing! It reminds me of a Hamish Mcbeth book by M.C.Beaton where a man's car has it in for him!!
My Paul always says we are getting older at the same time when l find a new wrinkle!! So we are shrinking at the same time too
Enjoy your day out and don't spend too much at the garden centre - except on scones! Extra clotted cream for me please
Love to everyone!

Hello Barbara Kathleen Aidan Toni Christine and anyone else I missed.
Barbara is that the orthotics they made insoles for me.
Kathleen have you got less strength in your arm's ad hands.
Aidan you have a lovely day as well.
Toni where we vote there was steps I asked if I could bring sues vote out for her to do or do it for her they would not let me I knew what she was voting any way. now she has a postal vote.
Christine try not to work too hard in the warm weather.
take care everyone have a lovely day.

Well I was expecting to shrink, but a whole inch in just two weeks. :?
Yes Joan, my arms and hands have become a lot weaker. As if the RA hasn't had that effect on me already.
Toni, did Lucy ask for advice on her first vote, or does she already know which party she wanted? I remember my first vote, I was heavily pregnant with my second baby and my first was in her pram. She was 9months old. A newspaper cameraman took our photo and it was supposed to go in our local paper. Nottingham Evening Post (I bet you remember that Aiden) with the title AND BABY CAME TOO. It never appeared. Perhaps the camera couldn't fit me and the pram in! It was a scorching hot August day in 1970, and we lived at the top of a steep hill! :too-hot:"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." quick cuppa in the cafe. I see lots of pictures-very nice.
Dan's rash has come back. He had one last year when he came back from Devon so it must be connected. I've just been chasing up a repeat prescription as it will be weeks before he gets to see a GP.
Lucy's parent meeting was lovely. she had great reports even though she's missed about 60% of schooling. The teachers seem very fond of her. OH came with me, the first time we've been together for years as Dan was at respite (yes again-I am lucky).
Joan we have disabled access and all polling stations should. Sue should not be denied her vote.
Christine Brighton are playing Middlesborough this weekend. I know you said your Son supports them. I shall be glued to my radio and chatting to my Brother when the match is on.May the best team win
Half a rabbit and a headless mouse...omg!
Have I missed why you are building a wall. Is it a raised bedding? I could do with some of those.
Barbara hope you are coping. Fancy them leaving in a staple.
So where did the sun go? We were promised 20-21 degrees and it seems to have clouded over.
Kath you are shrinking. I'm 5.2 and not sure I want to be any shorter as getting clothes is hard enough as it is.
Aidan I just love the sun. I'm afraid I used to sunbathe at the slightest opportunity. I've spent 2 afternoons outside and already a nice shade of tan, but must get it from my Dad as he looked Italian (but apparently it is a scottish clan where we get the colouring from).
Toni tadpoles are cute I wouldn't want them in any cauldron either. Mig can have as many spiders as she wants though.
How lovely that Lucy got to vote...after all those suffragettes went through we owe it to their memory.
Okay I must potter off and have a great weekend everybody.
Kath can your Daughter make us some sorbet for the cafe?

Evening all or is it afternoon still :?
Have you ever had such a good sleep you are tired all day...very strange but I enjoyed it...
Aiden is having a moment..not nice are they.. if we go out for a meal I always try and have to a cold starter..especially in summer ..or else its over with... :too-hot: I always say my joints dont like summer but I do..the tumble dryer doesn't like you thats what it is.. scone sound good to me..
Elizabeth Im fine a bit sore were it was but thats all..hope Dans rash clears up, maybe its down to nerves bless him ..
Toni Lucy first vote..wow..bet she feels all grown up...I love what Paul said getting old at the same time..there is only me shrinking here... you leave the garden be let the new people do it..because the other garden will be waiting..the kidnet reading had gone down but not by much ..thank goodness
Kath what a shame the pic didnt make it into the paper..it would have been a nice keep sake..poor thing shrinking like that when the nurse weighs me I always say I am 5ft 10...
Christine glad the car is sorted...dont worry I will be careful..I love how you keep the grass a bit longer for the insects...bet they love your garden..have you seen some of the islands around towns with all wild flowers plated they look stunning..well they did last year hope they are the same..apparently you can mow then and the flowers come back..
Joan yes I think they will make me the shoe supports when I get to see them ..glad to see Sue has a postal vote and I hope you do now..we are getting one for next time..
I will try and post some pics of Jake the big cat from next door..he is so lovable..but hes nearly 17 I think ...so scared of getting attached...think its to late he follows me when I go upstairs...
Love to everyone...xxxxxxLove

Aiden, I think you'll need to either give the drier a kick or leave the drying to your OH. I used to love the summer but now spring and autumn are better. It gets too hot for me in summer and too cold in winter. Wow, you will have a busy day tomorrow or was it today?
Toni, thank you. You were right. The tadpoles aren't in there but there were 2 big eyes looking at me. Must have been the toad. You could always have a bit of a potter weeding and cutting back a bit.
Joan, no you're not allowed to do anyone else's vote for them. That's good that Sue has a postal vote now. I couldn't do too much at work today as it was quite hot.
Kath, was it the same measurement scale they used. Maybe it wasn't registering properly. You'll have to see what it says next time. I remember when I first voted. I just went with what my parents voted. It wasn't till much later when I looked in to it for myself.
Elizabeth, it does seem that the rash might be connected to Dan being away. Hope it isn't itchy or irritating. Having a good report for Lucy must be reassuring. Hope it helps her to settle now. I don't follow football myself. I knew Middlesbrough were playing but didn't know who. If I'm right, it's a big match so my son will probably be going. A couple of years ago, I upended an old wooden bookcase in the garden and used it to grow some veg and herbs. It is disintegrating now so I'm building a wall round it. Not properly, just putting the bricks round it. I heard on the news yesterday that there was a dust cloud being blown over from the Sahara. Wonder if that's what the cloud was. Was the same here but was still very warm.
Barbara, strange isn't it when having a good sleep makes you feel more tired. I haven't seen any wild flower islands here. I think it's a great idea. Might ask our council if they will start doing it. Jake looks lovely. I know what you mean about getting attached but it must be hard not to.
The painter is back at work painting the outside window frames and the kitchen walls. We got talking and I mentioned the course I was doing. He's brought me 3 books to read and said I can keep them as long as it takes to read them. Might take a while as I've got another book to get through first. I don't know if I mentioned that I'd taken a picture of my mum's parents up to show my dad a while back. He'd kept the picture to change frames but when I went back, the picture had disappeared. He said he knew nothing about it, Well today while I was there, he picked up a frame and the back fell off. Underneath the picture was the one which had gone missing so I've brought it home.Christine0 -
Christine scan that photo in ASAP!!! photos are invaluable aren't they?
Yes I will potter outside today I am ready all meds taken and eager to get outside
The toad seems happy enough in the potion I think it's his slime that does something to it :? mig would know what...
Barbara I love Jake! Don't worry one of mine made 21 years old
I promise just to potter outside and keep it more or less tidy for the new owners because the new garden WILL be waiting. Haven't been able to plant any seeds this year though
There are wildflower islands in Wolverhampton here
Joan our polling station has disabled access...Sue would have been fine here. Tia has a postal vote from university for here too
Elizabeth - how lovely you and OH being able to go together. I bet you were proud of your Lucy
I hope they will give you a prescription for Dan without an appointment.
I bet you look good with your tan - my Dad was Hungarian so we tan well too. Sun is awol here as well???
Yes Lucy and Charley have been taught all about the suffragettes by me. Can't moan if we don't vote either can we?
Kath - shame your photo didn't make the paper for your first vote I would have loved to have seen it.
Lucy did ask advice yes. I had saved her all the leaflets and tried to give her an idea of their policies. Not easy as the edges have blurred recently. She decided for herself though and was adamant it wouldn't be UKIP!! She is firm in the beliefs she has and won't stand for racism, homophobia etc.
Right onwards and upwards0 -

Joan, I have RA, a tiny bit of OA, Sjogren's Syndrome, Vasculitis, Osteoporosis, Bronchiectasis with Pseudomonas, Hypertension, and still at risk of my cancer coming back. Still, mustn't worry - eh! couldn't Sue sign up for a postal vote? Saves the bother of going to the polling station. But it's quite wrong that they couldn't even put a ramp there.
Christine, both times I was measured it was a wooden ruler fixed to the wall, with another wooden cross bar to lower down to your head. But thinking back, I probably kept my shoes on at the rheumy clinic but took them off on Thursday - that would explain the difference.
Barbara, Emily said I'm officially a midget. She is changing her bed linen on Monday. I asked her to take a photo and email it to me so I can post it on here. Her bedroom is 1940s style, so it will look really in keeping.
Yes Aiden, give me autumn every time. Or winter as long as we don't have snow and ice.

Afternoon all had a little trip out while the sun was shinning now its gone dark ..they say we will get thunder so if I disappear you know why
Christine so the painter is back has least he has given you 2 books to read maybe he thinks you will read them at work and not notice he isn't there  ...not that you would read them at work... so glad you found your mum and dads photo..I wonder who put it behind the other one :?
Toni blimey 21 was a good age...think we love Jake even though hes not ours.. our neighbours dont mind one bit..good for you pottering has long as that is all...
Joan..yes thunder here but not arrived just yet...its just started raining... hope you and sue have a good weekend
Kath..Im sure you are not a midjet... I would love to see the pic of Emily's room..think I said it was a passion of ours..must say your Emily always looks the part..its brilliant my eldest brother had Bronchiectasis..so I feel for you with all the other stuff
No Aiden today did he say they were busy..having lunch no doubt..juts hope the weather has stayed nice for them..unlike here..its now pouring down....
Is it just me but I dont like paying out for flowers when its a funeral..it seems such a waist has they are just left there..i would much rather give it to charity or an hospital..but they want flowers on Tuesday, so have just ordered them ...
Love to everyone...xxxxxxxLove

Toni, I have scanned the picture. Now I have to take a copy and hope my dad doesn't realise it is a copy. The original looks quite green so hopefully it'll look the same or he won't notice. yes, you have the new garden to look forward to. I'm sure you will have lots to do in the house as well as the garden and you can sow seeds next year. Good for Lucy finding out as much as she could and sticking to what she believes in.
Joan, I like thunderstorms but would rather have warm and sunny.
Kath, I don't suppose the ruler was wrong. I usually take my shoes off but they say it's ok to leave them on so maybe that is what happened. Bet Emily's bedroom is lovely.
Barbara, you're expecting thunder too. Wonder if we'll get it here. You could be right about the painter thinking I might be distracted with the books. I'm sure it was my dad who hid the photo. When I first showed him he talked as if he hadn't liked my gran so I thought he'd thrown the picture out. I know what you mean about funeral flowers. They're only seen for a few minutes.
Got a message from my son this morning asking if I wanted to spend time with my youngest GD today and it was nothing to do with the fact there was an extremely important football match on. So I took her in to town to get some shopping - a Kinder egg, some strawberry lace pencils and some sweeties for her brother and sister. I also wanted some gluten free Weetabix someone said H*me B*rgains was selling for next to nothing but they didn't have any. And my laptop battery still hasn't arrived at the computer shop after 2 weeks of waiting. At least we had a good time and my son and his wife enjoyed the match at the pub. It was a draw but enough for their team to get promoted.Christine0
