Evening to all, Barbara, Christine Toni, Kath, Joan Elizabeth Mig et al. I hope everyone is as ok as can be. The weather, which I won't mention, seems to be a mixture of hot and sunny or wet and thundery, depending where you are.

I meant to post earlier, but, you get to pottering and time just eats away.

The shoes will be the reason for the height difference Kath. Towering stiletto's next time and refuse to take them off

Talking of towering heels, there was a wedding on in the next village, as we drove through, oh dear, some people should not wear towering heels, high skirts and have more make up on than Danny La Rue. Tottering along, carrying a baby :o:o
    I digress.

Glad you like autumn too, it has been ok today, with a nice breeze, so it was bearable. A deluge late on this evening, which has now passed. The 1940's style bedroom sounds lovely, all things retro are very "en vogue" at the moment.
That is quite a diagnosis list Kath, it always makes me sit up and think when I write down on those dreaded DWP forms, what is actually wrong. Group (((((((((())))))))). :D

Hope you are ok Joan and didn't get too much thunder and lightning.

The pus cats are adorable, lovely pics Barbara, our male ragdoll lays on the floor with his paws crossed, so cute. Not that we are cat mad at all, much. Our eldest is 17, well, nearly 18.

I like the none excuse of the football match, lol. Glad you had a good time in town with your GD. Kinder Eggs are lovely, so I will tag along next time :) That's a long time to wait for a battery replacement, would there not have been one on Eb** or Ama***? Mind, you have to be careful about where they are sourced, as a lot of batteries for laptops and phones are inferior quality and liable to overheat.

Toni, I don't like the look of the Toad, but, if he is happy in the slime, then that's good. I won't look in the cupboard again, too many things with 8 legs. :?
Shame on us, we forgot to vote, I totally forgot about it and saw the cards late in the evening. So I won't complain, as long as UK** don't move up the power scale. Lucy has some sound grounding there Toni. :)
Not long until you move, so all very exciting. We didn't win the lottery, well, £7.60, so we cannot buy the mansion of our dreams. Never mind, we live in a beautiful area so feel very blessed.

Our highlight of the day was a visit to the tip. No coffee's and scones out this week end. That can wait until Monday, by which time I will be MORE than ready. I have coffee at home, but it is never quite the same, plus I don't have the cat trying to drink it if we are out. OH has been very busy in the garden, made a new border, just need some more stone chippings. The car looks like a bomb site, so the hoover might be coming out Sunday.

Right, I have a pair of eyes looking at me from the kitchen, another round of food for his feline Lordship.

Everyone take care, forecast is for hottest day tomorrow, so I may melt.

    Good morning everyone :)

I am up early as Lucy was out in Stafford and staying with one of the girls' from the salon's house....I know she's done it before, but it worries me now until I get a text from her (4.06 am!) to say she's ok and in bed.

Joan did I mention that yesterday we drove past the bungalow and saw the owners gardening? Well he was - she was nursing a bad back

They offered us a cuppa so we had one and a natter too which was lovely.

    I can't wait Joan :)

Kath yes please tell Emily I would love to see her bed with that bedding on :) We had those sheets as kids too. Think they'd be too hot for us now though :(

Well I am very glad to hear we have solved the mystery of the rapid shrinkage!

The 'Little People of America' define dwarfism as being less than 4'10" (I think you have to have e medical or genetic condition too affecting height). Be careful!

By the heck Barbara did we get thunder!!! It was when I was on the way back form dropping Lucy off in Stafford with her friends  Flash floods lightening the lot!! So bad Charley rang me (hands free), to check I was ok.

I am glad you love Jake - no cat was ever harmed from extra love:) Let's hope he does well for you and keeps on going.

Daisycat loved me pottering yesterday in the garden :) I did only potter I promise lots of breaks.

Christine I think your youngest GD was probably far, far happier with you than watching a grotty ole football match

Did you have to 'build' a kinder toy? I used to enjoy that.

Annoying about the battery, but you'll appreciate it all the more for the wait ;)

Hope your Dad doesn't realise the photo is a copy :?

Shame about no seeds, but the new house is in a village which has entered Best kept Village
 Bless them - they are getting ME!!!

Aidan Please send your OH to help me with the new garden when I move in. So long as you feel blessed by where you are living that's all that matters. I think it does sound idyllic.

Sat outside our 'new' place to be and had a very nice posh coffee with the old owners. They are soooo lovely! They had been hit hard by Lucy having cancer and were over the moon to hear she's done it. Mind you he is ex-police and solid as a rock so I wouldn't get on the wrong side of him

Daisycat doesn't do much silly except this when the radiator is too hot..

th_111.jpg her in the washing machine

and 'flat cat' ready to pounce!

    th_Oops047.jpg

Mig has been into the cupboard Aidan so don't worry all is well, but like you I am none too keen on the 8 legged creatures

I think I gave Lucy a good grounding in what is right and wrong yes, but she made he own mind up on the day :). I think it's a real sign of how discontented the public are that UKIP are getting anywhere at all.

If they had coffee and scones at the tip you wouldn't catch me trying them anyway!!! Hehehe! The tip staff and I are on first name terms now with moving and downsizing etc.

    Love to everyone

A quick good morning, before I head off into the kitchen (it's cooler in there). Hope everyone is ok and either enjoying the heat, or managing to keep cool.

Oh I wish we had had a big thunderstorm Toni, sigh. We had a shower of rain but nothing to write about, so I won't

The pictures of DCat are lovely, I will have to search out some more of ours. Here is one of Pepe, when he was younger. We were in France then and it was over 40 degrees, with no A/C :too-hot:
    1pe-peampsleep_zpsevgqbqdd.jpg

I was in pretty much the same state  8)

How lovely to have a coffee and a natter with your vendors, that was very nice, the village sounds wonderful. Ours won best Village in 2000, and runner up umpteen times. The next village is always in competition.

I wonder what he put in the car Barbara, eeeew, it must be invesstigated, Mig might want it for the "potion". Hope you have a good visit with family and manage to go out for some lunch.

Cooling hugs to everyone, I will write a bit later, when my gel cushion is not melting me.

    Roll on Autumn :D

Aiden, I don't know how some women walk in those high heels. Took some doing to find a Kinder egg then it wasn't what we were expecting. It came in a plastic container which pulled apart. Inside one half was the toy. Inside the other was a gooey chocolate cream and a spoon to eat it with. Maybe you can help us find one next time. I did check out online for a battery but I couldn't find the exact one I needed and the prices ranged from £15 to £70. No coffee and scone this weekend. :o Hope you enjoy one on Monday. I'm not surprised Pepe was spread out like that in the heat. He looks lovely.

Toni, I was like that with my son. Couldn't sleep until I knew he was ok. My daughter lived with her dad so I didn't know when she was out. That was lovely having a cuppa at your new house. Did you get the downpour while you were driving? Sounds a bit scary. The Kinder toy was easy to make. Ruby put the hair and face/body together and I put the legs on. There were stick on clothes. Best Kept Village? Sounds lovely. What a beautiful Daisycat. It's cute they way they lie flat like that.

Joan, hope you have had a good weekend and managed to get out for a while.

Barbara, I knew there was something I had to do today. I needed to get the fan and my summer hats out of the loft. Wonder what it was your OH took to the tip. Hope you found your OH's BIL as well as he could be and he enjoyed a trip out. The lights will look pretty on the flame bush.

No rain here for 2 days. Cold yesterday but red hot today. Both days the sky was quite grey. Pottered in the garden today and managed to get out some of the weed from the pond. Didn't do too much in case I disturbed the taddies. Had to put some music on as my neighbours have had a bouncy castle on both yesterday and today. They make quite a noise when the air is blowing in to them. My eldest GD and her 2 friends called round for a while today which was good. Don't see her very often now. Being 14, she's more in to spending time with her friends than with grandma.

Hi Christine, it seems quiet, I imagine everyone has taken shelter from the heat. Even the PC is giving out too much heat and I am on the verge of melting :too-hot:

A week ago we had snow on the hills, now, you could grow mangoes and bananas it is sub tropical.

I will definitely come and find Kinder eggs, not too sure about the ones with goo in them. Cadbur*** cream eggs are horrid, that fondant yuck is just nasty. Says me who was a chocoholic. The maltesers had to bite the dust when I found out I was Diabetic. I stick to chocolate biscuits and shortbread now  oh, scones as well.

Glad the livestock is doing well in the pond and enjoyed the music while the young ones bounced around.

We could try it, mind, we would have to be catapulted in, then we would just bounce around. Not sure how we would get out.:lol:p050.gif

Pepe is a cutie, totally spoilt, as are the girls. They are all flagged out at the moment. Once the house gets hot, with all the insulation, it is like a night storage heater. Looking forward to cooler weather later this week. I really don't fair well when it is too hot. :sunny:

Yes, a week end with no scones :o They are top of the list tomorrow, before shopping. They had better have the Aic conditioning on at the garden centre. Everyone will be sitting out, well they are welcome, I don't do wasps, spiders, bugs etc.

Well, I will potter, my gel cushion feels like it has central heating in it.

Hope everyone is as ok can be and taking things gently, keeping cool, keeping hydrated, ok Matron, shut up, lol.

    N Night XXXX Aidan

Oh Aidan Pepe is adorable :) So hot!! I wuv him!! and on Kath's Emily's bedsheets too!!

The thunderstorm made no odds to the temp sadly ::)

    Ah well....

Today is even hotter I fear and Barbara was right the wipers couldn't keep up with the downpoor - I had to slow down.

Christine I like goo!! Sweet chocolately goo?? I hope so :) I am glad the toy was easily constructed too.

I often play an audiobook quietly when I am gardening so I don't hear anyone else and don't disturb anyone else too :)

14 year old GD's do still love their Grandam's, but they are rather busy. Glad you saw yours.

    Are taddies ok?
Barbara I hope OH's BIL is ok and was well enough to take out. Sad.

It was lovely being in our future garden :)

Today I have sent a stern email to our solicitors asking for them to update us and give us an idea as to when.

Joan it was lovely :) They are lovely and I am so looking forward to a 'summer' there :)

    Enjoy the pub!!

Mig I read the other post and have commented! Grr!!

    Emily's new striped bedding

    Emilys%20bed2_zpsl5okhqbq.jpg

    Emilys%20bedding1_zpsazncaja0.jpg

She is really chuffed with it. I'm glad. shame we can't see the rest of the room.

Aiden, how I envy Pepe, sprawled on his back like that. I can last about 5 seconds in that position, then the pins and needles set in. I had to struggle like that for 15 minutes on the (very hard) DEXA scan bed. I was near to tears! The poor technician decided I could leave the second bit. But I said let me sit up a minute, then I'll be OK on my left side. I was. Hurt when I got up though.
    :(

Toni, I'm positively towering at the side of my gran when she was alive. She would definitely be classed as a midget, she was 4 foot 10 inches.

Went for a lie down after lunch today, but our neighbour was gassing outside. I had a quick nosy and there two more neighbours. They both wore short sleeved T shirts, while my neighbour wore a thick black track suit, with the hood up. :o

Afternoon all, oh my days I am going to melt. There is a breeze, but I am having a golden moment that is lasting all day so far. :?

I cannot find the post on e cigs. I keep looking, to no avail. Yes, I am sure they are harmful, the vapouriser liquid contains varying amounts of nicotine, with all sorts of flavours to tempt people to use them. I see people all the time, in clouds of vapour, it seems very fashionable. It makes me laugh that you can buy them in any corner shop, supermarket, etc and they are all on show, but, you are not allowed to even look at a packet of cigarettes. Bit of a joke really. Hope the results of the x ray are ok Mig.

I will carry on looking to see if I can find the post.

There were NO SCONES at the garden centre, the lady who bakes them was on holiday.  I had to make do with a scallywag, which I didn't really enjoy. A bit scone like, but with nuts and cherries on top. My own fault for not looking in the cake fridge. Coffee was v good though and yes, it does tend to make you hotter.

We have three cats Joan, all of them quite old now, asleep in various poses around the lounge at the moment. Hope you had a good day.

The sheets look lovely, reminds me of candy cane.

Stern letters are v good Toni, I often write them to the highways, MP, Council, British G**, you name it, I am on with it. :x Well, if you sit back and wait, nothing seems to move. Sometimes you have to shout.

I am completely melting here, so I will go sit near one of the fans. We have a wasp nest above the front door, about the size of a golf ball, was not there a day or two ago. Some VERY big wasps about. OH will sort it out :)

:too-hot: I just want it to be normal temp, for time of year. Snow a week ago and now nearly 30.

Take care, catch you later XXXX Aidan

Joan hope you had a good lunch at the pub... :)
Went out for a while and sat and had a sandwich...while we people watched...I love seeing all the young people in there summer clothes..it takes me back...mind you I never had legs for shorts...

Mig, I found your post and have left my speech. All in all, there is not enough research done into E cigs, to say that they are "safe". All they do is keep the nicotine craving going. If you are going to smoke, smoke, but that's just my take on things. People generally don't like the smell of cigarettes, that is the main anti social thing about them, (apart from Mum in Law who hangs on every whiff), LOL

Off now to back door, to have a ciggy and stand on the decking a moment, in the breeze, to give me the illusion of being cool........

Aiden, I quite like crème eggs. Meant to buy myself one at Easter but didn't get round to it. I'm sure while we were bouncing off the walls, we would eventually be bounced out through the entrance. It was quite hot here this morning but the radiators at work were on. How I didn't pass out, I don't know. They can't possibly know if e-cigs are harmful in the long term. They haven't been around long enough. I've seen a few people breath out huge plumes of dark grey 'smoke' through their noses. Yuk. Hope your OH is careful with those wasps.

Joan, I hope you and Sue and the dogs are coping with the warmer weather and enjoyed the pub.

Barbara, the man in WHS said he hadn't seen the gooey kinder eggs before so I think the are new. I often enjoy a tea when I'm hot. Strange how it doesn't make me more hot.

Mig, hope the x-ray results were good and that you enjoyed your trip to the theatre. Will read your other thread after this.

Toni, I only see a taddy now and again as it wriggles past but they look bigger. I think they are spending most of their time hiding in the weed so not sure how many there are. I hope your solicitor gets back to you quickly. You need to know what is going on.

Kath, Emily's bedding looks lovely and fresh and summery. Wouldn't you think they would have invented a more comfortable way to take the scans. There always seems to be the odd person who wraps up no matter how warm it gets.

My daughter sent me a message to say she had ordered a pair of boots from the Next sale and could I post them to her. She's hoping it won't be more than £10 postage. Could be costly if they don't fit. Feeling really tired this afternoon and evening. Don't know why. I had a good night's sleep last night. My laptop battery has arrived at the shop. Not sure when I'll get there to collect it.

Ice packs, oh yes please Barbara, they would be lovely. We managed to find the mesh that goes in the windows, so we had a nice through breeze for a few hours, with no bugs able to get in, says me, eyes peeled in case of 8 legged monsters.

I know, how dare the lovely lady be on holiday for three days and there be no scones. I will send you lots of hot cross buns, our simply food store, (half an hour away) always has tons of them.

Radiators on, oh my days, I would have keeled over and no denying. I have put a link to an article in the D Mail, about E cigs, on Migs post. You are right, there is not enough known about all the "stuff" they put in them.

They must be growing by the day those tadpoles, hiding in the weed to keep cool :)

Hope the Solicitors responded to your letter Toni, time to get things moving :) go get em.

Scan tables and X ray tables are always like rock, I remember when they last x rayed my lower spine. I could not get up and the radiographer just stood there, with me floundering on the table. I said "WOULD YOU MIND - I am having x rays done so that they can see how much damage there is, hence the reason I cannot get up". Jeepers. Common sense and reason, where are they?

Oh dear, I am rambling and ranting, it must be the heat. Looking forward to things cooling down as soon as possible. Last night and this evening just makes me feel so ill. Heart racing...........

I am sure it will be the weather that is making you feel tired Christine. That and everything else we contend with, all mix up to make us completely drained at times. Hope the boots do fit. As you say, it will be a costly too and fro if they don't.

Hope you had a good time at the pub Joan, enjoying the sunshine.

Time to move, potter along a while, feed the ever hungry Pepe, who is burning holes in me from the kitchen.

Everyone take care, keep cool and try and rest well.

    German cuisine

    Eintopf
A steaming bowl of eintopf will warm you up on a cold day., traditional German stew
    Kartoffelpuffer
Shallow pan-fried pancakes made from grated or ground potatoes mixed with flour, egg, onion and seasoning.
    Sauerbraten
(meaning ‘sour’ or ‘pickled’ roast) is a pot roast
    BrezelBrezel
are soft, white pretzels, made from flour water and yeast and sprinkled with salt (and sometimes different seeds), and great to eat as a side dish or snack – or with a beer
    WurstThere
are more than 1500 different types of wurst (sausage) made in Germany and you’ll find street stalls selling them everywhere. The most popular include bratwurst (fried sausage) made of ground pork and spices, Wiener (Viennese), which is smoked and then boiled, and blutwurst and schwarzwurst, which are both blood sausages. Look out for regional specialities like Berlin’s currywurst (sausage with curried ketchup on the top), Bavaria’s weisswurst, a white sausage that you peel before eating with a sweet mustard, and Nuremberg's grilled rostbratwurst, served with fermented shredded cabbage known as sauerkraut.

    Evening everyone

Sorry to have almost been AWOL

Did my shoulder-blade in this morning? Rendered left arm useless for a few hours, but a lot better now after painkillers wheatie anti-inflams etc.

Also had a super-frustrating run -in with our so-called solicitor!! Were recommended by the Estate Agents. Mistake number 1 Toni!!

So Joan and anyone else interested I don't know when we'll be moving at all :(

Supposed to have been end of this month, but I will keep you all in the loop.

Barbara that funeral sounded rather 'modern' with skyped involvement!

Kath We used to have Hungarian pancakes (poor people eat them, but we loved them as kids!!)
Like the kartoffelpuffer. and I LOVE the name!!!!

Mig I am glad nothing too sinister in lungs but hope they can help your cough - does the inhaler help?My sister has asthma and a cough was her main symptom.

Bubbles/Aidan I need mesh!! Had a sp*der in the dishwasher this morning so couldn't get in it.

One above dining room table my friend had to pop him (kindly) outside for me :)

Rained all day here and I mean ALL day so much fresher :)

Christine I agree about e-cigs atfer all they used to think normal **** helped your breathing!!!

Time will tell, but in the meantime I do not want them near me.

I hope the shoes don't cost much to post and that you can get and fetch your new battery soon.

    Love to yo all

Aiden, I've just read the article on e-cigs. How scary. Is it cooling down a bit where you are? There was a breeze here today and it was a tiny bit chilly.

Joan, I like my wooly hat in winter and I wear a straw one when I'm gardening if the sun is out. Other than that, I'm not a hat person.

Mig, the scan being clear is good news. Hope the inhaler helps.

Kath, what a lot of sausages. The trout sounds lovely though and the apple strudel. Oh or maybe the cherry strudel.

Barbara, it is always a good thing to talk about the good things at a funeral. How lovely of the friends in Tenerife to skype and light candles. Yes funerals are draining. Ruby did quite well with the egg. Only got it all over her face and fingers so soon wiped up with a couple of wipes. I'm sure Niamh would enjoy one.

Toni, don't worry about not getting on here. Take care of your shoulder. Sorry you had to have a run in with your solicitor. How frustrating not knowing now when you'll move.

What a day. Totally drained. Went to T*sco as usual today. They had an offer of 3 for 2 on their own brand of gluten free foods. They had lots of bread but I didn't need that. There were no bread buns, the only teacakes were tiny so I didn't get any. I did buy 2 packs of gluten free w**tabix. The normally sell for £3.79 but are £2 at the moment. I then got another bus in to town as there are 2 H*me B*rgains there. They are supposed to be selling the w**tabix for only 79p. I asked in the shop about them and no-one knew anything about them. So 2 buses and a lot of walking about for next to nothing. And just realised I could have called in for my battery but totally forgot. :? :too-hot: Daughter's boots have arrived so a trip to the post office tomorrow.

Hi there to one and all - on this mercifully cooler day. Hoorah.

Mig, I am glad that your results were good and let's hope the inhaler works. Spirometry tests are ok, quite fun really. I have one each year. Lots of puffing and blowing  The article was scary reading about E Cigs, well, nicotine in its pure form is very toxic, not actually carcinogenic, but if you take a hit of it you would soon keel over.

The funeral sounded a mixture of emotions and yes, they are so draining Barbara. Good that thoughts and prayers were sent from afar, a very touching moment from friends.

Glad you have mesh up at the windows, bugs, no thanks.

Toni, you just take care, it was the spider in the dishwasher that did it :o
I hope the solicitor gets their finger out, just about all the conveyancing is done by computer now. They get well paid for it so they should be acting in your very best interests. More ranting needed :)

Kath the menu looks very good, I will have to re read it as there are some very long names..................strudel, there must be strudel, so I will have that please. Kartoffelpuffer is a great name, I agree Toni, best make it a double.

You have had a run around Christine. then you forgot the battery, oh dear, big oops. Hope the boots don't cost a small fortune to post.

I had my appt for routine diabetic check up, bloods, BP, usually takes five minutes. How long was I there is total. Over two hours. My pulse was irregular, so care assistant got Sister, ( who I know well), she laughed and said he can do his own pulse, lol. She said it is irregular, yes, I know, I can feel it. Are you feeling ok, yes, I have had it happen before, over all the years of heart problems. IT might be due to the hot weather.

Best see your GP. Come back in an hour...........off for a coffee and scone, yes a scone, happy days.

Went back my GP said it was more regular, but best do an ECG, mentioned my neuropathy was getting worse and joint pains, he said, things are just not going well at all................ECG done, then waited while he had a look, it was showing ectopic beats, which you could not feel from taking a pulse reading. I said I will keep a check on it and if needs be go back for a 24 hour monitor.
I will fire an email to my Cardiologist who has treated me for ever and a day, see if he thinks he needs to see me.

After all that is was mid afternoon by the time we got back. I have had enough today, extra Tramadol and knock myself out I think.

    Take care all, XXXX Aidan
