morning all..hope you all have the sun..think I will be looking for some shade today...
Elizabeth what a lovely week you picked to go away..and you really needed it..hopefully it has charged your battery's a little..
Joan you are right..we all cope in our own little way...maybe you and Sue need a bit more beef on your joints has my late would say..
Aiden..OH has put me an higher toilet in then we can get rid of the frame..but my little feet barely touch the floor..so watch this space.. AC is such a good idea...we went shopping yesterday and they had AC ...if they gave me a chair...I could work there no scones  how dare they...now cheesecake is not a favorite of mine but OH loves it
Toni what a love DIL you are..I had to laugh at the walker all wrapped up.. I bet she will be delighted with the wheels...that solicitor is dragging this out ..its typical of them..hope it all happens very soon then we can come to the house warming.. the toilet I now have in is higher...dont ask...
Christine I hope it has warmed up for you..how odd that this little country can be so different..congratulation on getting the diploma you have done so well. dont worry about getting dates mixed up..it might be because you are mixing with me to much..I am sure your dad will be happy when he gets the card..hope he is doing ok
Kath Its hard to walk straight when in pain..I very rarely straighten up..but I do try...even doing my physio I tend to lean forward..like Aiden say make sure the crutches are at the right height...
Sorry if I have missed someone but my brain has gone now..will give it a rest...hope you all have a goodish day...xxxxxxLove

A very hot afternoon to one and all. :too-hot: Thank goodness we have the AC unit, whirring away and keeping us all at a bearable temperature.
You certainly do need a date Toni, as you say, Lucy needs her AC.
I think I will get the bus, for Wednesday. It is fully climatised so we will all be comfortable.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to Malvern. The Queen drinks, or did drink nothing else but Malvern water.
Let's hope MIL likes her new buggy and it gives her the independence to go out and mosey around town.
Right Barbara, so you didn't fall down the loo, it has been raised that's good, we didn't want to have to hoist you out of there. We had a high loo put in when the main bathroom was adapted for me to shower easily. I cannot use it at all, for some reason, so I still use the en suite one, with a loo frame. I would recommend everyone gets an AC unit, easy to vent out of a window. Ours was on low, wondered why I was heating up again. Duly put on MAX
They sell them at ARG**
Hope you manage to keep as cool as possible Barbara.
Joan, I hope the warmth is easing the discomfort, we all vary so much with heat / cold etc. /definitely steady over gravel surfaces in the buggy. I went to go full speed once and just dug myself into the ground lol
We had a mercy mission as we were down to the last pack of ciggies, which is bordering on panic stations.  It was very busy out, all the pubs in the village next to ours were packed with locals and tourists alike, everyone sat outside ready for lunch. (no thanks, I would melt and wasps would dive bomb me for no reason at all).
OH has mowed the lawns, (they are only small), look a lot smarter now. Cats are all chilling.
Coffee and scones in the morning, at the garden centre. Looking forward to that, sitting inside where it is chilled. People watching for a while, which I love doing.
We have thunderstorms lurking around this coming week, hoorah. Then it seems to cool off by next week end and beyond. I was reading how many people had been injured by lightning strikes in Germany and France. Terrible. They have had some seriously bad weather.
Everyone take care, time to potter a little by which time it will be round three of pills. Watch a bit more of Murray v Djokovic. I will order cakes and sandwiches for Wednesdays pocket duty bus trip with Toni and Lucy.
XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Here you go Aiden ..I found you some ...I bet every eatery and drinking places are full outside..there is no air here what so ever think we might just look at these ACs..
Well what a palaver..I have my lounger up..my sons gave me money to wards it because it was higher than most..well OH got me down on it..and there I was stranded..he is in the lounge ..its a through one ..with door to kitchen..I am outside with patio doors open..shouting at the top of my voice for him to come and get me...nothing..he says he not going deaf.. :shock:I was cooking in the sun... :too-hot: :too-hot: so a neighbour 3 doors away hears me ..we back onto fields.. so he comes and looks over the fence...now remember this they only moved in a few months ago..he climbs the fence..and says do you need help..I am there with my legs in the air..it tilts and I couldn't tilt it back..so he goes and gets OH...he is sat reading the paper with not a care in the world..this is what I said...****************Love
Barbara0 -
Oh thank you Barbara, most kind. Panic stations over, well, not at your place, with you stuck on the lounger, cooking in the sun.
Glad the neighbour came to your rescue or you would have poached.
I am sure OH had burning ears afterwards :x :x
Maybe an AC unit and a hearing aid at the same time
Had a fitful nap earlier, it was SO hot. The AC is in the lounge and although it is good, it is not powerful enough to chill the whole house. Naturally the cats wanted to cuddle, so I was even hotter. Bless them all.
Have quite a few meals from Mar***, but the thought of the oven going on fills me with dread at the moment, so it is sandwiches and the meals will have to go in the freezer, until the weather cools little.
Right, I will take my leave and have another potter. Take care everyone. N Night. XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

I have just lost my post not a clue what I did..anyhow the jist is
Joan you laugh away I did later.. dont worry I will make sure I have my mobile in future... hope you and Sue are ok
Aiden yes OH did get an ear bashing... at least we were introduced to our new neighbours the cat from next door wanted to get on my knee ..I did feel guilty but no way so he sulk away...the only hot meal I have had in 3 days is fish and chips between us..quite rare we have them now it used to be a Friday treat..hope you can manage to keep cool... :splash:
Toiday OH is going to the tip with any rubbish we have..were on earth does it come from... :? and I will be wilting... ..

What a lovely sunny day! Sending some up to Christine.
Today is Jacks 18th birthday and Charlie is on her holiday from work so she came round to visit. Lucy came home very early so almost a full house! Days like this make it all worthwhile.
Although transport failed to pick up Daniel as they have changed from the usual company.
GP tomorrow to sort out my high cholesteral, low vit D and get referred to HIP consultant. I can't cope with it any more.
Kath I use my crutches whenever I need them which is often. They take the weight off of the painful joints and can be a blessing at times.
Well don't want to lose my post like Barbara did. Its nice to be back. Hope Aidan is behaving. I'm going to ave a cider straight from the fridge now and finish off sitting in the garden.
Joan take care. We drove near your town on the way back The traffic was quite bad and it took 7 hours to get home and I was cooped up in the middle seat in the back because Dan likes to look at the traffic so my hip was locking up terribly ad if anyone knocked it I screamed. This frightens the children so have to explain its not their fault and my hip is sensitive to the slightest movement.
Oh no nearly a boiled Barbara, you poor thing
I'm interested in getting a (slightly) raised toilet seat and a bigger bath as the family are outgrowing the current suite.
Best just tie a ribbon around the scooter Toni. I think once she starts using it she'll realise what she has been missing.
I love the sound of the garden swing.
whoops my post is all muddled up! Not sure what happened there   Think I'm panicking about losing my post!

Lovely to read your chatty post Elizabeth
Happy BIRTHDAY to Jack
What a great day with so many of the kids there - yes it does make it all worthwhile.
Poor Daniel being overlooked is not good
Good luck at the docs for tomorrow I am just back. He thinks I have had an internal bleed as I vomited 'coca cola' the other day and I hadn't yet eaten! Neither have I had coke for ages!!
I will be thinking about you. I am sure they will fix your poor hip as soon as they see you ((()))
Kath - you can count me in in this weather. No black pudding, but the potato salad sounds lovely as do the 3 cheese scones and of course pudding
Aw Barbara the cats all love you don't they?
Can your OH take some stuff to the tip for me too please? I have loads!!
I don't have fish and chips often either although I LOVE the stuff
I remember you having that lounger, but OMG!! That could have been bad you could have been proper burnt!!
Hi Joan - hope you aren't too hot? Daisycat has had a great day in and out in and out!! She'll sleep tonight
Hey Aidan it is hot far to hot and not even summer yet!! It's a shame our darling and beloved cats make us even hotter isn't it?
I think you need to sleep with the air con on next to you ATM.
Like you we have a raised seat frame which is great I wouldn't be without it. I know you can buy loo seat which are quite a bit higher.
Thanks for the food and drink order I am thinking of popping a couple of freezer blocks in my pocket for when the bus arrives to join us?
What a disaster nearly running out of ****!! I sued to ALWAYS ensure I had at least one left for the morning....sigh.....I miss them
Oh yes Murray vs Djokowic don't mention it in this house
Love to you all
Toni xxx
Hope Christine is ok?? and mig??0 -
Hello Barbara Kathleen Elizabeth Toni. and anyone else I missed.
Barbara try not to let it happen today. I hope you have a good day.
Kathleen I will come to the picnic you enjoy it.
Elizabeth I hope you don't have to wait too long to have your hip done. happy birthday Jack.
Toni i'm sorry you had that wrong. I hope you have a good day.
take care all
joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
Oh dear Toni, I hope it isn't an internal bleed and is something less sinister. Hope it doesn't happen again.
Done a separate post about Daniels transport this morning.
Well I was pleased for my Serbian friend when Djokowic won as she posted a video of them all watching the match and cheering. She's lived here for many years since all the troubles in her home country started and she was unable to travel back home or even make contact with her family.
A picnic is a very good idea....I love cheese scones too.
I must say I do not miss smoking! well I was more a social smoker and now I never go out so I'm not tempted.
We had more visitors for Jacks birthday. His little cousin adores him and didn't want to go home.
Love to all, hope you are all well. Laters.

Afternoon all..very very humid...
Happy Birthday to Jack..Elizabeth you are right having your family around you make everything worth it..but what a blinking shame for Daniel..do these firm not communicate..they must have a clue what it mean to children like Daniel and you to be left like that..hope you get that hip sorted soon..
Toni hopefully they will sort it very soon for you, no use saying try not to worry...and I hope the house move happens very soon that is not helping matters..
Kath I will join you on the picnic..even if I am late...creamy and lite potato salad sounds nice.. how are you getting on with your crutches..
Joan do worry ..never again..I will have my mobile with me at all times...
Phew its warm and I have just got back from physio, she cant really move me on yet because of this back, she is scared of aggravating it..and so am I  she has given me one more exercise but told me to leave some of the others, that were hurting my back...
Hope everyone thats missing are doing ok..xxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Toni, I never touch black pudding, but I know some like it, so decided to include it. Thunderstorms due, so we'd better put the marquee up to keep the food dry.
Elizabeth, I haven't used the blooming crutches yet. I'm beginning to think I shouldn't have bothered! I haven't a clue how to use them. Oh well, they might come in handy one day.
Started my second pack of Flucloxicillin today. There has been some improvement, so let's hope this lot clear up the cellulitis."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Oh my, if it gets any closer we will all be touching !! :too-hot:
I have tried to have a quick read.
Toni, that's not very good, let's hope they give you something asap for your stomach, if it is a teeny bleed. Can be treated with ranitidine or Omeprazole or combinations of. Hope you feel better very soon. We will all be there tomorrow, worry not. Well, as Barbara said, you, like the rest of us, worry ourselves silly. Matron will be with you - just think of me in Hattie Jaques Matron's outfit and starched hat, that will keep a smile going
I will certainly join you on the picnic, good idea about the gazebo, we have had some rumbles of thunder too. The food sounds lovely Kath. Potato salad and summer fruit pudding mmmmm Oh, scones too, we cannot have a picnic without scones.
Can I sit in the netted area, I don't do wasps, big screaming nelly if they are buzzing round me. Bless, it's a shame really.
Glad the antibiotics are kicking in now. Keep an eye on its improvement. There are some video's on you tube on how to use crutches, both weight bearing and none weight bearing. Pick the physio ones, or Dr Jo, as there are some whacky ones with idiots, as per usual on the internet.
Hope you are ok Elizabeth, terrible that Daniel was not picked up. Hope it soon sorts. You will need to move and potter, after 7 hours pinned in the back of the car. Oh I would have been fit to be tied. Happy Birthday to Jack - enjoy all the visiting family. Trust things go ok at the GP's tomorrow.
I trust you have recovered from your ordeal in the reclining chair Barbara. Mobile phone pinned to self from now on. :too-hot:
It is too hot Barbara, we have the AC on full blast and I am still leaking like a sieve. I did go out and help water the garden, thought it was high time I ventured out. It was cloudy but the humidity is like Miami in high summer. Second shower complete, still leaking. I cannot wait for it to cool down this week end. I am really struggling with it and it makes my angina worse as well as my joints scream.
I am popping a gallon of creamy cornish ice cream in the freezer, for us all to enjoy, in crunchy waffle cones.
Talking of popping, it is pill time. I will go stand in front of the chiller..................I am melting, sat on my gel cushion, therefore I must potter.
Take care everyone XXXX Cooling hugs XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
evening all...its piddling down just hope we dont get thunder and lightning..did you hear about the poor dad and his children being hit with the lightning today at school..think 2 of them are in intensive care..I do hope they will make a good recovery
Kath the crutches will come in..they do stabilize you I has I say ..have a little practice..fingers crossed the ABs work
Oh Aiden I do feel for you with this heat, I am bad enought and dont have angina ..just try and keep cool and relax..fancy me giving you advice.. hope you have stopped leaking..think I might climb in the fridge with clotted cream..dont worry I will leave some
Not seen Mig around..hope she has landed safely...or she is somewhere in the med
Glad I didnt bother watering the garden...
Love to everyone xxxxxLove

Sorry to have been AWOL
Off to pick Lucy up form the salon in a minute. Then we are travelling by train to the Royal Orthopaedic to meet with the shoulder Professor. I hope he can help us with Lucy's poor shoulder :?
Paul has been working in London all week and is going to meet us there, hopefully in time for her appointment fingers crossed. Better drive safely I've told him!
The appointment isn't until 3.15 so heaven knows what time we'll get in!
I'll look for the bus in the carpark when we arrive
I promise to post as soon as I can

Toni xxx
Ps Barbara I am ok had blood test yesterday like a good girl. Unlikely to be as good though if a camera is required down my throat :shock:0 -
Afternoon to one and all. Hope everyone is ok on the bus, for Lucy's appointment. We will be there, coooooooooooooo eeeeeeeee from the car park.
Just let me pop my uniform on and we will head off to meet you
That's better, now we can sneak about the hospital.
Just take care, hope everything goes ok as possible. It will be hot and bothering in the big City.
Will write more after a nap. XXXX Aidan. Take care all.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I hope you're all ok after the trip out Clinic running an hour late too.
I also hope you aren't too upset....
Lucy's shoulder is shot and needs replacing
Problem is replacements are stronger than bone and will wear out the socket bit, cartilage etc (collarbone???) this is ok if you are older, but in Lucy's case at 18 'revisions' like they do with hip replacements when they wear out are much less successful in shoulders because the collarbone (I think) is thinner than our pelvis(?)
He suggests we apply to our trust for funding for donor humerus transplant. So a year out from her training
Should just be grateful she is alive but.....not today.
Tomorrow l will have bounced back no doubt.
Love Toni xxx0 -
Special hugs for Toni and Lucy.(((()))) Mig0
-
Toni, I hope you stomach problem isn't anything serious. That is bad news about Lucy's shoulder. I really hope they can sort something out for her. (((hugs))) for you all.
Elizabeth, that was bad of them not to pick Dan up. Hope they have sorted themselves out now. Belated happy birthday to Jack.
Barbara, your poor back. I think back pain is one of the worst as it stops you doing so much. I hope the physio can eventually help. What happened to you in the reclining chair? I can't find it. Hope you weren't hurt. I am melting at work and finding it difficult to keep going. I'll just have to do what I can.
Kath, sorry you haven't got away with the crutches. I hope the meds do clear up the cellulitis.
Aiden, I had to giggle thinking of you in your Hattie Jacques outfit. Hope it has cooled a bit for you and you are coping.
Joan, my dad has had another assessment. My sister phoned to tell me he has now been diagnosed with dementia which she said was worse than Alzheimers. I said I thought dementia covered all sorts of memory conditions but she wouldn't have it. Said it was a different thing. I'm going to see him tomorrow so I'll ask the nurse about it. The weatherman has been telling us for a few days that we are going to get heavy rain but it hasn't arrived yet. Very warm though.
I've only signed myself up for a course in weight loss. I could do the last course when I wanted to and take as long as I wanted but this one starts at the end of June and is a series of lectures over a month. I have to log on at the right time and will be able to ask questions during that time. Exercises to do in between and an exam at the end. And there are a series of seminars following the Mindfulness course so looks like I'll be very busy. What have I done? :swim-shark:
As I was telling Joan, it seems my dad has been diagnosed with something other than Alzheimers . I'll find out more tomorrow when I visit. My sister is insisting she was told it was dementia and that is worse. I think it is a different type of dementia he has (as dementia covers a lot of conditions all memory related).
Tadpoles are very fat now and I spotted some little skinny legs at their back ends.Christine0 -
