Afternoon to one and all. Hope everyone is having as good a week end as possible.

Barbara, I am so sorry that your house move caused such a terrible thing to happen. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Then to buy the house in the end, I think I would have sl***** her into next week.

Toni, I was singing quite loudly. Much better now the hair has gone.
Yes, Pepe is totally in charge, he has me round his little paws and knows it. He gives me the run around, well, potter around. The girls are no trouble, they do their own thing, have fusses and sit on laps, eat their biscuits and sleep a lot.

Talking of biscuits, we went to pets at h***, for some prurina biscuits, not bad, £10 for a big bag. Well, by the time we got home we had spent £200  :o :? Clothes, housey things, new loo seat for my bathroom, groceries
I said, home, quick, before we go bankrupt lol. Blow me, the girls are not best pleased with their new biscuits................I won't swear.

No the dryer is quite new Joan, just over a year old. This will be the third visit, hopefully with its new brain it will do as it is told. It is turning out to be an epic. Today it is in a good mood and drying things perfectly. Anyway, it is covered under D and G insurance, like all the electrical appliances - well worth having.

There is a bit of a breeze again today, so windows open wide. Still quite warm, but I am managing not to melt, so far. Forecast for thunder, but none so far. p025.gif

I have bought a trolley full of scones and left them out, well, covered in case of flies. Lots of French butter, clotted cream, jams and of course a huge pot of T. I will just check to see if they are ok e015.gif

We need a separate topic, The Tumble Dryer Trilogy :lol: :? It will get me, I know it will :swim-shark:

I am sure it is very much in your thoughts Barbara. It happens all the time, people backing out, dropping offer prices, I dread if we ever decide to move. If we do, it would be Bonnie Scotland, I feel my heart lies there for some reason - loved having many, many holidays way up in the highlands and islands, truly beautiful, in all weathers.

Before I get too wistful, with memories of holidays with Mum n Dad, I will away and potter in the kitchen, cloth in hand and Pepe in the other, he is whinging like a grizzly two year old...........

Aiden, I love a good storm too. Not so good though if there is flooding. It is so easy to go for a couple of things then add a few more and before you know it, you're broke. And then the girls didn't like their biscuits? Hope Pepe can manage them on his own.

Toni, yes you can come out of hiding. That dalek and the black one I saw were disconnected. That frog looks just like my tadpoles except they still have tails. Couldn't see them properly today but the surface of the water was moving.

Joan, your dogs must be very cute if people want one like them.

Barbara, people don't seem to understand how bad stress can be for others when they mess them about. It stays with you all your life but they just get on with theirs. Kath's internet is down? Thanks for letting us know. 20th June is a very long time to wait to get it back.

Another busy day today at our town gala. Stalls, fair ground, live music and steam boats. I spent a lovely 2 1/2 hours slowly floating up to the big park and back again. I'll post a pic of someone in a minute. See if you can guess who it is although she is in disguise.

She's heavily disguised alright Christine :)

The boat ride looks as though it was lovely :) Imagine that 'forced rest' for 2 and a half hours :D

Glad to hear the froglets are still growing well - I hop soon they'll grow some legs for you :)

Barbara I am angry that someone did such harm to you and caused the lost of a baby. 45 years later and you aren't over it.

I didn't even know there was such thing as gas dryers?? How does that work?

Aidan you are so right that dryer of yours, (sure it might be part-dalek or something evil....mutter, mutter), should have had it's own thread

Mind you maybe that would only be reinforcing it's bad behaviour :?

Hungry boy that Pepe...did you say the cats have clothes??? Photos please!!! ASAP! oh there was me thinking they were CAT clothes!!!

It is glorious in Scotland isn't it? My sis lives in Fyfe still - I miss her, but totally 'get it'.

Well done donating your femoral heads Barbara - that's what's gone in Lucy's hip. Thank you for that.

Joan I'm not surprised they get a lot of attention with you being twins and them riding on your scooters :)

Kath - I know you can't see us, but I am very sorry about the internet..grrr!!

    Love to you all

Barbara, that's so kind of you to say I am even nicer than Bubbles, yep, this is me, without a doubt. Bless you hun. Glad to hear your family are having a good time in sunny Spain. It is a cheek when they double the prices for school holidays out of term time.

They keep threatening heavy rain here, but it is nothing but a but of Lake District rain, mizzling. Having said that, I bet the Heaven's will now open. Oh dear, I read you have sprung a leak. Hurry with that pan.............

Kath, HI THERE, :D we know you are having a pain in the proverbial with the internet. Cannot believe they are taking so long to fix it. I would be spinning on the ceiling. :x Take care, hope you are as ok possible.

The pictures are lovely Christine. You are brave, I am not a boat person. I remember going on Loch Ness, with family, Aunts Uncle, Parents, it was like a mill pond and I was feeling a wee bit queasy. :? I think the dark deep water, with whatever lurks in its depths, gave me the colly wobbles. I made sure I was sat on one of the seats with the inflatable life rafts under it.

Toni, there were gas dryers in the nursing homes I worked in. They have them in launderettes as well. Don't ask me how they work, but, I might have to get one !! We will have to organise a bus trip to Scotland and descend on your Sister. :D

The Dryer, well, the repair man came, fitted a new brain to what we shall call the Dalek. Started, then stopped, started it, then stopped - see, it didn't like him either, I am not the only one. Even with its new brain.

Eventually it started to go through a sensor dry cycle, he said, see how it goes - he drove off and, yes, it stopped. After three more goes I rang him and he is going back to the manufacturer and insurance co, as he says, there is nothing else they can do to repair it, everything else is ok, apart from it won't do as it is told. So, he said they will have to send you a new one. Cool. Watch this space. Well, that's what we pay our appliance insurance for I guess.

MY first Siamese both had wooly jumpers, they loved them. I will try and find a picture of them.

Hi Joan, the ladies seem to be eating the biscuits now, I have mixed some others in with them, so all is well. The Siamese always takes them out of the dish and eats them off the hearth. Funny felines.

Well it is almost time for T so I will potter away. Shortbread are calling me from their tin.

Hi and hugs to all who are around and about, Mig Elizabeth et al.

Sones and coffee in the morning, oh we know how to have fun in this neck of the woods :lol:

Toni, I loved it on the boat. Terrible when you have no choice but to sit and just enjoy it. :hammock: The froglets have skinny back legs but I hop they'll soon have front legs.

Barbara, sounds as if you are getting everyone's rain. Hope it doesn't last too long. Great to hear from your son and know that the girls are having such a good time. Send our love to Kath please. That certainly was karma having the cockroaches appear as they moved in. I don't know if I misread or misunderstood but did you say the gas dryers need little gets behind the drum? I giggled out loud at that. Thank you for thinking I look young but photos can be deceptive. I was 60 in February. Although I am terrified of the water, I do love being on boats. Oh no, hope your carpet and furniture isn't getting wet.

Joan, thank you. I did enjoy myself. It was a good day.

Aiden, it is easy to get scared when you are a child. I was on two occasions pushed in to the deep end of a swimming pool. Been terrified of water ever since. Not sure why I love boats though. Can only think it comes from my dad being in the navy. So your dalek is still not working, even with it's new brain? Hope it's not long before they send out your new one.

Did all my washing yesterday but it didn't dry outside so it's now hanging about in the house. I was very tempted to put the heating on to get it dry but didn't think I could stand it.

Joan, I hope no-one was hurt when the dryer blew up. I was working today but popped to T*sco to get a bit of shopping. Hope you have had a good day.

Barbara, I have forced myself sometimes to face my fears - water and heights. I've gone in to swimming pools and the sea. I have managed to swim a little as long as there was someone there to grab me if I panicked. Even did backstroke in the sea in Jamaica once after a few cans of Red Stripe lager. It was fun but I couldn't do it again next time. And I've also walked over high-ish rope ladders petrified. On the other hand, I once crawled on my hands and knees around a high tower and almost jumped off a tower at Durham Cathedral as I was drawn to the edge. That was scary. Did you have a nap with you being tired?

Almost past out at work with the heat today. I'm hoping I can get a bit of gardening done tomorrow and it doesn't rain. Hope everyone who hasn't been in is doing ok.

A late evening to one and all.

Dryers blowing up, that's not good at all Joan. I have used them, before we got a tumble dryer, there is a laundry near us. I didn't really like it, drying things that everyone else had dried in, well, you just don't know - at least it was boiling hot.

I understand what you mean Barbara, very kind of you to say. I was reasonably cool, but we had soup tonight, so that has set me off into a heated moment. I feel we are in need a good breeze, just to freshen the air up a bit, it has been muggy for days on end.

Maybe once we are up in the Highlands it will be cooler. Lots of midges, but cooler. I remember being eaten alive when we stayed in a B & B a the side of a loch, beautiful, then come early evening, you were attacked by midges, they got everywhere  :?

Hope you manage to sleep better tonight.

Christine you have done very well facing you fears. I don't mind water as long as I can see the bottom of the pool. Heights, well, I am just no good with heights at all. I know what you mean about being drawn to the edge, it is really strange how it makes you want to jump off.............  Have a look on you tube and search for skyscraper roller coaster rides, there are some things that make my toes curl up to my knees.

    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=vegas+skyscraper+ride

Glad you made it through without passing out in the heat. Roll on Autumn. I should not wish the year away, but each summer seems worse than the one before. :too-hot:

Toni Mig Kath I hope you are all as ok as possible. Any news on the house, or are we at standstill? So annoying.

Our boy ragdoll is in a heap on the floor, paws in the air, they do make me laugh when they just fall over. I think he is a bit hot too.

I think this would be nice to go up to Scotland in, a giant motorhome - as long as we get a chauffeur

    WHEEE I'm back. :bouncing-ball:

Almost 5 days without a phone or Internet!!! They had to get council permission to dig wherever the fault was, and replace cables. But we're back, a few days earlier than expected. Thank you Barbara for being my Go-Between.

Anxiety set in BIG TIME! And now it's thundering. We've had nothing but rain the whole time, which did nothing to cheer us up at all. I've really missed you, and your pusskin's stories. And Toni has found some frog smilies. I need those in my life.

No menu this week I'm afraid, but I will hopefully sort one out for next week.

    Welcome back Kath!!

I am leased to see you :)

No rush with menu - just good to see you.

Barbara my frien'd friend lives in the US and they have a Winnebago!! (sp)

Paul says when our kids are all settled we will buy one and go and park in turn on their drives and use their leccy!!!

Joan we've had rain and thunder too - both myself and Charley have had migraines. Just held Charley's hair while she was sick....I am pretty good at dealing with sick now ::)

We are still at standstill Aidan regarding the house....they buyers are really dreadful people :(

Rain and thunder here, but no cooler. I want to unpack our fans and Aircon...grrr!!!!

Did you see 'secret life of kittens' on channel 5 Monday?? One of the kittens we are following is a ragdoll the runt too so adorable :)

Christine! I can't believe you said that about being drawn to the edge of a scary tower. That is so scary. do NOT go up again!!! Toni's orders.

No chance of gardening here due to rain.

Don't know if I said but Tia was home overnight been to see her Gdad in hospital?

Gone back now, but Charley is seeping of that dreadful migraine upstairs with her OH. Bless them.

Hopefully be back to normal tomorrow

Aiden, I remember camping in Scotland with the midges. It was very wet but luckily my parents lived in Glasgow so we popped back every few days to dry out. Yes it is strange wanting to jump instead of backing off. Fortunately I called to my husband who pulled me away. I clicked on your link but can't watch them. There was one of FB, the one that moves out from the top of the building that's like the flying chairs. Gives me the shivers. The motor home does look lovely and comfy.

Joan, I do feel good when I do something I fear. It makes it a bit easier to do next time but not much. Hope you've missed the storms.

Barbara, sounds like me. I was about 40 when I started lessons at a school pool. I had managed to do a few strokes then the tutor lost her husband and never came back. Hope you have a lovely time in Llandudno. Only been there once overnight so didn't get to see it really.

Kath, good to see you back. I wondered why they were taking so long. Sounds as if your weather has been terrible. Hopefully brightening up now.

Toni, that would be funny parking on the kids' drives. Must try that. I don't go anywhere high where I'd be able to jump now. How lovely for you to see Tia. Hope granddad is doing ok and all the migraines have cleared up.

Another pottering day today. Got a few bits and pieces done, including setting up the treadmill and doing a bit of fast walking a couple of times. It hasn't been cold but didn't look very inviting outside so didn't get in the garden.

Welcome back to the fold Kath, glad that the phone and internet is finally sorted and as said, earlier than you thought. We would have been frantic with no internet.
Hope that the thunder storm has stopped. Personally I like them, but our neighbour goes to bed under the covers when we get a storm. We have a weather warning for storms and rain, but nothing seems to happen. Yet............

Toni your buyers need a kick up the proverbial, upsetting the apple cart like that, it really is not fair to you, or their buyers, or your vendors. Sorry to hear about the migraines, sending hugs and hope you are both feeling better. I have never had one, but I know they floor people completely.
No we didn't see the secret life of kittens, but we will look for it on catch up tv. A baby Ragdoll, oh bless
Good idea about the winnebego, plugging in to relatives mains, I like that idea 8)

Christine we must never go to high places together. I know those video's are toe tingling. The one where you are swung out over the edge just makes me fall off my perch. I have been to Vegas and I know just how high those towering hotels are. We did go in an outside lift, which was a big mistake, I was a dithering wreck by the time we got to whatever silly height floor we were on.

Hope you have a lovely time in Llandudno Barbara, I am sure you will - hoping the weather is good and the sea air bracing, well, not too bracing, but pleasant.

We had lunch out today, at our fav tearoom, the one with all the wonderful cakes. No, I resisted, I was very good, lunch was enough.
The insurance people are sorting out for a new dryer. Since then, it worked a treat, you couldn't make it up.
Off to Mark's today, stopping off at Nero's for large intake of coffee and definitely a cake of some description. :D
Puss cats are all ok, girls are asleep on the back of the settee on their fleeces and his Lordship is having a bath next to me.

Joan I hope you are ok and enjoyed your ventures out with the doggies.
Mig Elizabeth and all, hope things are ok.
