Joan, I hope your pinched nerve isn't causing you too much of a problem.

Barbara, I hope the physio starts helping with your back soon. It can be one of the worst places to have pain. What a great idea for putting on moisturiser. I'll have to get one and give it a go.

Kath, today I'll try the prawn and chorizo pasta and the strawberry ice cream in a bag sounds interesting. Hope your pain is easing a little.

Can't believe I was out in the garden at 8.30 this morning before breakfast. The green waste men were coming this morning and I hadn't bagged up the pampas grass I'd cut back. Sorted out some of my summer clothes today. I've got way too many but can't bring myself to throw any out yet.

Very quiet in here today. Hope everyone is just enjoying some good weather and not in too much pain.

A late evening to one and all - the days seem to have whisked by........
Cooler here and much more pleasant. I even wore a cardigan today, yes, I was in shock too.

I see you were cold too Kath, on your recycling venture. Glad the order arrived this time. Good to hear you are sleeping a bit better. The menu sounds lovely, I will have to take a lingering look........

Barbara - stenosis, yes, I can sympathise with that. When I saw the Ortho Surgeon he said, "with your other medical conditions, I would not be happy doing anything requiring a general aneasthetic" Right, ok, its get on with it and take even more pills. Yup. Hope you back is not too bad.

Wimbledon is indeed being watched eagerly, it is on two sides, so we are recording and swapping, to keep up with it all. Murray did well and so has Marcus Willis, coming from nowhere to fight his way into Wimbledon, but now facing Federa ( I think he might loose that, but what a credit to him ).

Glad you are enjoying the cooler weather Mig. Hope you are ok and the eye exam is ok later in the week

Toni, I see you have popped in and we look forward to getting you back on online. Why did I guess that the bones would be shouting - As you say, pain killers, well, dullers, do help and certainly if you are sleeping well, that's good. No, Daisycat, you have to stop in - don't be running off, well caught Paul.
Hope the Drs visit goes ok with Lucy.

Christine, you get some rest....up early and in the garden, plus working and then studying.....take care now.

Oh Scones and lemon squares, they will do nicely Kath.

It was scones and garden centre this morning, all very nice too. Supplies from Sains*****. OH is at the dentist tomorrow, so it will be a trip to Ner***, more cakes and panini. Then a whizz round Mark**. Fridge is looking a bit sparse.
Plenty of rain today and more on the cards tomorrow.

Oh, the new tumble dryer came, at 0730..........how early IS that.

I was in the kitchen, leaning into my crutches, door closed so cats didn't come to nosey.

Oh said the delivery men, the one we are taking away is usually out in the middle of the room, we cannot touch electrics.

Right says I, do you expect me move it, because it isn't going to happen. I don't want you to re wire the house, it is just the plug to take out of the wall...........ok, but we don't normally do this........very good, thank you.

They managed to remove it and were so brave to touch the plug.

New dryer comes in ----we don't normally unpack new items ----

ok, so you think I can do it, then move it under the counter top
well, big do's and little do's, they did unpack it, plug it in and put it under the counter top. I was close to swearing but thought no, keep calm.

Anyway, it WORKS A TREAT, does everything that you ask it to do. Everything dried to perfection, so feel free, the laundry is officially open.

On that note, I will go polish it again lol. Everyone take care XXXX Aidan

Aiden, I've had to change from a cardi to a jumper last night and tonight as it was a bit chilly. Lots of rain here too. Didn't have to water the garden or give the frogs a shower today. You've got your new drier at last. Hope it is behaving itself. When I got a new washer, the delivery men refused to unplumb it as they didn't do that. I told them I couldn't do it so they did it just that once then they refused to plumb the new one in as they said the pipe was a bit wet. I had to call a plumber out to have a look and he said it only needed a new washer which they'd have probably put in anyway.

Joan, have you had the rain? Hope it hasn't stopped you getting out.

Barbara, hope you are coping ok with the rain and floods. At least it was nice when you went to get your bloods done. How strange that you don't like certain things now. At least the cream cakes still taste good.

Kath, good news you've got a rheumie appointment. I'll pop in your pocket if you need company. Hope it goes well.

Both my boss's sons are home from uni now till October. Can't believe the size of the washing and ironing pile. At least I don't do the washing any more. Not sure if I told you but I saw my GP a couple of days ago and she has agreed to refer me to the hospital to see an ENT about my ears and hearing. She said that after 4 1/2 months of trying to sort it myself, I've given it a good go. Should only be a few weeks.

    Morning all..
Kath that's good news ..thank goodness for cancellations..I hope they can help..
Christine..glad you are seeing the ENT for your hearing.I hope they can sort it for you..just wish my OH would get some help..the floods soon go..but its getting worse not sure if the drain are not coping..now this ironing you take your time with it..dont try and do it all at once...
Its has gone dark again so in for more rain..what happened to the sun...dont want it to hot just nice.. :deckchair:
I had a decent sleep last night apart from the dreams again..one after another..cant say they are nightmare because some are good...
Hope that Toni and |Lucy are doing ok..wonder what Dr Tim said and hope that Daisy cat is enjoying her new surroundings...

Afternoon to one and all, thought I had better say hello, amid the many sets of Wimbledon..........All enjoyable so far.

Maybe now that we are leaving the EU, delivery men and the like will be able to touch a plug and undo a pipe. The dryer is wonderful, it feels different, the buttons are better, the dial is a proper click round sound and it does exactly what you want it to do :) I think the other one was an older model.

Kath I will gather some scones for the 4th, for pocket duties, good news that there has been a cancellation. Let's hope things go well.

Good too that you are going to ENT Christine. I do hope they can help, as you say, you can only try so much without intervention. Glad the garden is all watered as well as the froggies. They will love the rains. A mountain of ironing sounds daunting, take is steady, promise.....

Glad you had some good rest and sleep Barbara. It does make a difference.
I have nightmares most of the time, sometimes they are really upsetting. I think the pills that I take are partially to blame, they do cause all sorts of sleep disturbances and the like. One of the cardiac ones makes you see shapes and things that aren't there, which is quite unsettling at time. :?
We are due more rain any time now, in fact it has just started. I agree, just warm, not hot, with a breeze, but not a chilly one......it is definitely cardigan time.

Toni I hope things are going ok in your lovely new home and that Daisycat is being a good house cat for now.

Hope you are ok Joan, with your doggies out and about, avoiding the downpours I trust. We were soaked yesterday, hate it when it rains and it goes down the back of your neck.

We went for coffee and scones, just my and OH. In laws were shopping out of town, sow e let them go on their own, they wanted some astro turf, don't ask me why.

I was all set just to go to Sains....... and OH said well we want to go for coffee first - that threw me out........Fine, I would never ever refuse a scone and a coffee or two. Lovely it was too. Will be there again tomorrow, with in laws.

Best move, back is shouting loudly and I have more drying to do - he says, with a big grin.

Everyone take lots of care XXX Aidan

Hello all. goodness this time last week our road flooded (I still managed to vote). People were trying to stop the cars driving through as it caused a wave of water to go into peoples homes. Some drivers didn't care less and there were a few heated stand-offs I can tell you.

Last 2 weeks have been good for various reasons. So i'll read back. actually went into town. Bought some make up and some nice cakes!

Hope Toni is okay after her move.

    Take care all

Barbara, our drains can't cope very well with the heavy rain. The water board come out now a couple of times a year to clean them out. I don't mind ironing but I'm only doing a bit at a time. My boss did say a while ago that they would do some. I wonder if you've got a lot on your mind with having all those dreams.

Joan, we have sun and showers here too. Luckily I seem to be missing he showers.

Aiden, it sounds as if you are enjoying your new drier. The ironing will be done a bit at a time. My boss is supposed to be doing some but the pile keeps getting bigger. Oh well. Not my problem. I don't like the sound of your pills and potions if they make you see things and have nightmares. More scones? As my mum would have said, be careful you don't turn in to a scone.

Hi Toni. good to see you back. Hope you aren't doing too much and your shoulder isn't still playing up.

Elizabeth, there is a huge puddle next to our bus stop and drivers always speed through it throwing water up over the people waiting there. How awful that they don't care about it going in to people's houses. Glad you've had a good couple of weeks.

I've been really naughty today and bought naughty things - ice cream and creamy desserts and chocolate. And I've had 2 lessons on my diet and nutrition course. I did buy fruit and veg and chicken and fish too though. :D

Thank you Aidan and Christine for your welcomes and to Elizabeth I am just fine :)

Such a good thing to hear you getting out a bit and managing to vote despite the inclement weather :)

People are so selfish I think doing that through a flood and through puddles by bus-stops - I actually though the latter was against the rules?? Either way it's a 'jolly poor show'!!

Later on I will take some photos and get them posted. Daisycat has had hers taken from behind already this morning trying to brave the cat-flap!!

Thank you to all those joining me on Monday, and thank you for the very welcome scones Aidan. I am a bit confused though, I had two letters arrive today. One confirming Monday's appointment. The other is for an appointment on August 1st, that I don't know anything about?! I will find out, and let you know.

I have my iPad on with my earplugs in. Listening to You and Yours at the mo, but later ther's a program about 'voices from the Somme'.

Toni, I hope DaisyCat soon gets used to the cat flap.

My bottom aches, so I'd better get up before I sink deeply into the chair cushion! OO, OW, GROAN!!!
