How horrible Nimbies Christine Not in my back yard vile people.

Maybe they think they are supposed naughty kids??

As a former social worker I know regarding children's homes that kids can go to them for so many reasons....probably more than 90% not their fault :( Grrrr!!!

I wanted curly hair too!! I spent many nights with rollers in my hair in my childhood.

I have the same thing with my weight - I know I am heavier than I was and it's settled in different parts of my body, but n-one else can see it.

Kath I am so sorry you are struggling ATM :( I loved the flowers too they are really pretty. They made me smile I hope they did you too ((()))

I hope the fayre went ok for Niamh's sake and the other kids Barbara. Typical English summer weather sadly :(

I hope you are ready now for the off and have a really good break. You deserve it. How lovely to think the hip is done and dusted now, (despite the back of course) and you can rest.

3 days will be lovely I wish I was coming :)

Joan bless you thanks I don't think I'm lazy either really, in fact I struggle to rest like I should and keep on going all day like my Dad used to ::)

The mow-bot is about the size of a small mower without it's handle of course. It's black (although you can change that!!!). It cuts a tiny bit off and drops it to much the grass.

This means I will not be doing my annual battle with the dandelions anymore!!! Yippeee!!!

Sounds like mig might have internet issues and at least Elizabeth is ok thanks :)

Right we have had rain and sunshine already here.

    Time to get on ;)

    Love

    Toni xxx

    Ps - no Aidan??? :?

A VERY warm evening to one and all - I bet you are the same as me Barbara, melting........ :too-hot:
Let me have a read, this cafe can fly along at times, which is wonderful, but sometimes one gets a bit muddled. I blame the weather.

Toni, it sounds like you are getting to grips with the new house and garden. Good that you found the bird bath and it has now had a new lease of life. Looking forward to seeing the robot, doing its thing....I want one, lol. Not worth it for our little postage stamp lawns. OH would not agree, as I am not the one that has to do them. I do heap praise though, on how nice it all looks.

Glad that you enjoyed the psychic event. I have seen spirits for as long as I can remember. I find it fascinating and comforting at the same time. We all have guardians who watch out for us. In our last house, which was lovely, but the neighbourhood was not what we thought. We ended up with 14 drug taking squatters next door and to be honest we were terrified. Throughout all the trouble, before they were booted out, we were definitely protected, no harm or damage whatsoever to us or our house. We would see very bright flashes of light, like mini fireworks, above us, or just to the side of us, amazing, truly amazing.

Yes, Pepe did a starfish jump, vertical, too funny. Right, second go, I was too hot to carry on writing yesterday.....................

    Sunday.

Hopefully Daisycat has been scuppered in her plans to fill the sun room with meeces.
So glad you are happy there, even when it is raining. I love it when it is raining too.

Christine that is terrible about the posters being put up in objection - people are too daft to know the reasons behind a person's illness and cannot see past their own noses. Well done for putting stickers over them :) Big oops for the watering system, lol. Well, at least that part of the garden will be done for a while. Glad the course is going well, people seem very helpful and friendly, which is a huge help.

You had lots of Mice too then Barbara, one popping out of the cutlery drawer would have freaked me out. Hope you have a lovely time in Yorkshire, God's own country as they say.

I hope you had a better nights rest Kath, not sleeping is a terrible thing, people don't realise. I have taken sleeping tablets for a long long time now, otherwise I would not even go to bed at night, let alone sleep. The flowers smell wonderful. Hugs in abundance

Friday I had one of my patches of kerratosis on my arm, frozen at the surgery, that has now blistered and is on its way to getting better, again.............it has been sliced off twice already, so the Dermo GP said we can freeze it this time. Steady away with that liquid nitrogen  :? The other one, on the very tip of my elbow is going to taken off with a curette under local. He said it was too raised for freezing and he wanted to send it away to check it is all ok.
A week end at home, b and s in law came over yesterday, so they popped in with in laws and we had coffee and cakes at home. Some cherry scones this morning with in laws ( I should just say mum and dad really). Bringing me some savlon spray for my arm, to help dry it up.
Will go to Nero's in the morning, then banks, then shopping. Oh, its raining, yippee, cooler breeze, wonderful sat by the window.

I will have to get the duster out, the tables look a bit untidy in here. e015.gif

Everyone have as good a day as possible. Take lots of care. Glad Mig and Elizabeth are ok too. XX Aidan

Christine as you know my boy is autistic and he wouldn't cause anyone a problem. He'd just want to sit quietly in his room or in the sensory room. Gosh people have no idea do they? They just need to have carers nearby too help with every day tasks.
Oh dear glad it was the hose pipe and not the bath!

I'm still waiting for my rituximab infusion and getting stiffer each day and now I've got no football to distract me. I didn't watch any Wimbledon this year and that's a first since 1974.

Toni I hope the move went well as I have't been to the cafe since.

Have I missed the 1000th post. I think there was a cafe before Val's was't there but an update on the system meant a fresh start?

    Will have a read back

Mig, So sorry to hear you have chest problems. When I end up in hospital because of my Bronchiectasis, the nurses give me 'Simple Linctus' which I can buy OTC quite cheaply. Hope your scan goes well.

Elizabeth, I've had the blood tests to find out if I can have Rituximab. I hope it goes well for you.

Aidan, please don't fall off the stepladder.

Joan, I can well remember how badly children with all types of disabilities were treated back then. It makes me so angry.

I hope you are enjoying Scarborough rain or shine Barbara :D

Sharon good advice about saving posts - especially if they are long ones!

Hi Kath - I hope you are doing ok? Fingers still crossed re bloods ((()))

    Elizabeth
I hope you get your meds soon :(

The move is done at least and am still unpacking!! I love it here I am so happy :)

Yes the café was Val's café although not called that and disappeared with the forum crash :( I wonder how many pages it would be with those included?!

I don't like bigots full stop. It is wrong plain and simple.

mig if you feel up to it you can still organise a knees up ;) I hope your doc gives you something to help the cough (())

Aidan will it be because you believe in them maybe that the spirits protected you against the trouble?

Whether or not I am glad they did! :D

Daisycat is behaving and leaving my presents outside the back door now thank goodness!!

Rain is lovely especially the smell and sound of it :)

I wish I'd seen Pepe starfish!! He he! When Daisyat was a naughty kitten she used to love being chased round the house. The kids used to hide behind doors and jump out at her!!

    Cats are great :D

    Thanks for the cleaning :)

I hope the savlon eases your arm and yes you should call them Mum and Dad I bet they'd prefer it :)

Joan the Mow-bot has it's own place to charge not in the shed but by the sun-room outside. He won't go in the shed until winter. I will take a photo when he comes I promise :)

Charley has curly hair and Tia, they want straight. Mine and Lucy's is straight and we want curly!!!

    Did I miss Christine??

    I hope all is well.

Today Tia and I registered us all at our new doctors so now I can contact the shoulder doc to start the funding application for Lucy's shoulder :)

    Love to you all

Thanks for the info Kath will give it a go.Next week I have a chest ct and 4 weeks after the breathing and exercise tests then the drs will get together with rheumy to see what we do next,gp gave me another inhaler which I used last night and it seemed to clear the phelm but I'm a bit dry mouthed now I don't mind that too much because the coughing with the phelm sounded disgusting.
In two and a half weeks time we are going on a cruise to Norway with my sister and her hubby and in october we have booked an over night trip to do the Emmerdale studio tour £99 each bed and breakfast and evening meal plus entrance to the studio and coach travel BARGAIN.Today going to Macarther Glen outlet with my daughter ,its great now she is driving.
Thank-you all for thinking of me it really means a lot, love you all Mig
Oops will have a think about a knees up to celebrate our 1000th post in the cafe.

Toni, yes definitely nimbys. Apparently the local football team do a lot to help disabled children but one of them, who lives near the house, has objected it.

Joan, I have a visions of Toni's mowbot opening the shed door with it's own key. Hope the x-ray turns out ok.

Bubbles, I get muddled too. Not sure it's the weather though. We have decided the people who put up those awful posters have shot themselves in the foot. There had been 9 objections for the home but now there are also 18 supporters plus the local labour party are on board. Still waiting to hear fro our MP. Liquid nitrogen? Keep an eye on them if they're using that. :?

Mig, glad your internet is sorted and you are less grumpy. We could still have a knees up. Hope the inhaler helps. I guess a dry mouth is better than a bad cough. You'll be looking forward to your next planned trips.

Elizabeth, quite a lot of people have commented on FB about their autistic children and they've all said similar to you. A lot of people want the home to go ahead. Hope your rituximab arrives very soon.

Sharon, that is a good idea. It's happened to me a few times too.

Barbara, glad you are enjoying your break. Hope there isn't too much rain. See you on Wednesday.

Toni, I guess presents left outside are better than presents left in the house. I think most people are the same. They want whatever hair type they don't have. I didn't get on here last night as I was too tired after doing my class so you didn't miss me. Good news you can start the funding for Lucy's shoulder.

All is well. The day started with blazing sunshine but has ended with a downpour and thunder/ lighting. I've left my washing out.

I cannot understand an objection to a home for autistic children. Its not as if they will be hanging around on the street corner. I'd move in next door no problem.

Hope everyone is well. Is Barbara home yet?
Joan sorry your foot is giving you problems and hope the x ray reveals what the problem is.

Not looking forward to going to bed tonight as I'm just boiling hot all the time and can't sleep.I'd better take an ice cold drink with me.

Toni, 98 people have said they liked my post on FB. Quite a few have autistic children and some have said they would be happy to live next door. I think Barbara is due home on Wednesday. I find I'm not sleeping well. Even with the window open, it's still too hot.

Didn't quite finish my last post. My son phoned to say he'd run out of ink and needed to print out boarding passes as they are off to Spain tomorrow so he emailed me all the details and I've printed them. There was a problem getting the kids checked in as the birth date drop down only went to 2000 and all the kids were born after that. I eventually got the little one checked in and my son ended up just saying the other two were both born in 2000. Hope it can be sorted at the airport.

    Christine I am glad you're ok :)

I had to print of my bro's family's e-tickets one year and had the same problem for the youngest. I did ring them and they did something so he could just go to the desk and she would have been 'checked in' by them.

I very much hope the home for autistic kids goes ahead and proves those nasty ignorant people wrong. I mean really! Health problems can happen to anyone! Even a future Grandchild of their own!

    Elizabeth
precisely! They are probably thinking just that which is very ignorant.

We have an almost clear day here, but I just watched it rain for about 2 minutes :? all very odd.

    Has your med arrived yet??

Hi Joan so you've had the x-ray done. I hope it shows up whatever the problem is and that they can fix it ((())

mig it's good to hear the inhaler helped even if your mouth was a bit dry.

How lovely your daughter can drive you both places too. You have lots planned ahead...I wanna come with you!!!

Hope all is well with Bubbles and Kath :?

Just gave the grass a quick high cut as its still very wet and hubby said (he'd been to the shops) can I do anything so I asked him to rub some shoots off a large shrub that we had cut down last year but we couldn't afford to have the roots dug out ,I had put pots of heather, lavender and some grasses round it then as you have to do went to check he'd done it all and the grasses had gone he'd chucked them in the garden waste bin as he thought they were dead  :lol so guess who's head first in the bin trying to get them out .Chucking it down now.Mig

Sun shining ATM, but it's still quite breezy. We have an Aruncus Sylvester (or as I call it, Uncle Sylvester) in the corner of our postage stamp. I usually tie it up when it goes all floppy, but I can't this year, so it's practically lying down.

Barbara, good to see you back.

Daisycat looks tiny in the bath. :D

Elizabeth, could you fill a hot water bottle with iced water?

Toni, rang rheumy again. Another 2 weeks possibly. My right shoulder hurts like mad.

I love the Uncle Sylvester Kath!!

2 weeks to wait? I bet it will feel like 4 :( Same shoulder as Lucy ((()))

Daisycat is quite a small cat, but the bath is big I think. She's been in the shower too today

How lovely Barbara to meet such a nice Mum and daughter :) Your son was right it has been very wet the last few days.

When I have the mow-bot I'll send it over to you :)

Oh mig!!! Your poor husband - mine would have done exactly the same  I hope you managed to save some of the grasses. Tia has been helping me in the garden this afternoon - we found several red ant nests so had to keep moving on.

A late evening to one and all - I feel like it has been an age since I popped into the cafe. All that dusting must have tired me out.

Daisycat looks lovely in the bath, (nice jacuzzi bath too). Thank you for the picture Toni XX Glad you are enjoying the garden, despite the ants nests, red ants are the biting ones. All the pus cats are ok here, a big grumpy today, for some reason. They will be right again tomorrow.

I like the Uncle Sylvester plant Kath, I will have to look it up. Christine was worrying about me freezing with the nitrogen, I know I don't like to be too warm, but minus 195 degrees C is pretty chilly.

It has certainly killed the area on top of my warty patch on my arm, in fact it has gone jet black :o  You cannot buy savlon spray any more, (it is only dry iodine), not sure why, but it has been off the market for a couple of years - quite why the Dr said to get some to put on my wound, I don't know. I have ordered some colloidal silver spray, (wonderful for treating any infections etc).
I am sure the two weeks will go quickly Kath, before your appointment, let's hope so, hug for the pain to ease.

I seem to be struggling to read back and write at the same time. Sorry people, don't take it personally.

Pomphlyx is being a pain, fingers splitting again, like every finger end, all pin holes today, it is bonkers this pompholyx. Out with the creams and lotions.

Out with family to garden centre on Tuesday, dentists Wed, out with Aunt and Uncle tomorrow, not seen them in ages.........more coffee, more cakes :) Mark's for some supplies..........

Friday, OH family are going home after a week with mum n dad, so coffee and cakes before they set off............it's all go..............

I had better move, my meds are muddling me up tonight. Everyone take lots of care, I will be more focused tomorrow, he says, ever hopeful, lol.
    Lots of love XXX Aidan

Aw Aidan! Sounds as though there's a lot going on enough to confuse anyone who isn't even on your meds. (())

I hope you feel more yourself this morning. Also that the pusscats are - I suspect they picked up that you weren't quite 'right' yesterday.

So annoying that the pomphlyx decided to flare up just now too.

It's lovely that your OH's parents stay with yours :D

I wouldn't fancy your week next week at all. I think I've only got hospital Mon and Weds (Lucy - pre-op hip) and on Tuesday the wires will be laid down for the mow-bot!!!!
