good grief! Is that your garden Toni. Its more like a field. I love the fireplace. I remember my cat Luigi, when he was 'given' away by my ex without my consent (I got him back), he escaped up their chimney. Think he was trying to get home poor thing.

Are those bots expensive? Bet my OH would LOVE this!!!

Just had a lovely chat with someone from rheummy dept.about my forthcoming rituximab infusion. Told him I was having 2nd thoughts as I did so well on humira and I was wondering why, if my inflammation results were so good in June (after my final 3 injections in quick succession), was I being changed over to rituximab. I had felt under pressure to make a decision at my last rheummy appt which I am now regretting and as it seems to have the same side effects as humira what was the point of changing over? So going to have another blood test to check Wwhile at hospital about my hip).

Ditto with the DLA to PIP thing Aidan. Will cross that bridge later. I'm ordering my new motability car tomorrow so any change over now will be a flipping pain.

Mig hope all the tests went well. That was the only problem I had with humira.

Good luck with the hospital appointment Toni. I also get sickness (forgot to tell the GP this morning as so many other things to mention)

Poor Mod John having to plow through all our posts. We never stop once we start in this cafe.

All 3 kids off school from 2 o clock!

    Love to all Kaftan wearers,
    Elizabeth x

Aiden, yes they will add my points but not sure I'll get the triple ppoints they were offering yesterday. Never mind. I'm thinking of defecting to N*ro's. I wish I had some washing to do. I love hanging it outside then bringing it in soon after.

Toni, does Daisycat not bother with the bot then? My daughter's inlaws had a hoover bot and the dog used to jump about barking at it. Only a few minutes of rain here and no storms. Wonder where they were. Hope Lucy's pre-op went well.

Mig, it is awful having to wait for test results but I guess they'll give you them all at once after the other tests. Hope they come soon. Bet you're looking forward to your cruise. Hope they sorted out OH's hearing.

Joan, how are your dogs coping with the heat? Hope they are ok.

Barbara, I have quite a few loyalty cards too. Can never find the one I want and sometimes try to use the wrong one. Hope the gel cushion cools you down. Good luck with the pain form.

Elizabeth, it does seem pointless changing your meds. You did right to question it. You're going to be busy now with it being the school holidays.

Well what a day. Upstairs at work was 30 degrees. It was like when you walk off a plane abroad. As soon as I got to the top of the stairs, I turned round and went back down again. The iron stopped steaming, the steam mop leaked out all over the floor and the hoover gave up altogether. Got the bus over to T*sco. Waiting for the bus back, I was itching and noticed those little black flies all over me. Got home and straight upstairs. Turned the shower on and the top of the post, which holds the shower head, came away from the wall and I got soaked before I was ready to get in the shower.

Finished my course tonight. Just have the exam to do in the next few days. Once again, they went on and on about how we should all sign up for lifetime membership. The other night, they said they were giving away 50 golden tickets which meant 50 people would get their money refunded. As the lesson started tonight, they said they were giving away another 50 then at the end of the lesson, another 50. It was very tempting but I couldn't afford it if I didn't get one. I couldn't help wondering how many people really do get refunded. Not one person on their FB page said they'd got one. Only people asking how to get one.

Hope everyone manages to feel a bit cooler tonight.

Another very warm evening to all...........

I know exactly how you feel with the nauseating heat Toni, I have not known it so hot and humid, in my memory. I hope the pre op assessment went ok for Lucy.
Thank you for your concerns over my poor old ticker. I have felt pretty washed out, as so many of us will have, over the past 48 hours. A couple of episodes of angina and some ectopic beats (which the Cons says are fine and not to worry). :?
The pus cats are still wiped out, even though it has been a shade cooler today. In fact his Lordship is howling the house down now, for more food - do excuse me one moment.

Sorry, I had to have another shower. I think I might have to keep this shorter than I would have liked.

Mig, let's hope the results are as good as can be, for both of you. Norway sounds lovely. My Uncle and Aunt went on a cruise around the Fjords, they said it was breathtaking. In fact you are fully booked, lol. Lots of things to enjoy.

Joan I hope the warmer weather has helped and that you have enjoyed time out with Sue and the doggies, I bet they were hot yesterday. Thank you, the dentist visit was fine. No problems.

Christine, that is good to hear you might be defecting to Nero's, lol. I think their coffee is just that bit better than Costa, although I don't mind them and some of their snacks are really delicious.

You had a right day, everything going from bad to worse. One of those two steps forward three steps back - we all know them well. Good that you have finished your course and I am sure you will sail through the exam with flying colours. They still want everyone to enrol on the next course then, ramming it home every time you go.

Not sure why they are thinking of changing things Elizabeth, when one thing works as well as it can. often it can be to do with blood results and how one drug is affecting your body system. You will know more when you get the next lot of tests back I am sure.
We are going to choose our next motability car in August, you watch, the PIP will arrive at the same time. I think we will go for a slightly smaller one this time, we have a big Ford S Max, which is a fab u lous car, but we don't want to pay thousand plus on a deposit again, like last time. A few hundred tops, no more.
Happy holidays from school, eeek, busy times ahead.

Barbara I said the same to OH, this is what it is like in New York, mid summer, humidity through the roof and 30 plus degrees. I have never known heat like it, it was depressing to be honest, even with the AC unit going, it could barely cope. The house is still like a furnace, well, the lounge is, we have three huge windows in there so the sun streams in all day.
We did have a storm about 8 on Wed morning, with a downpour, but, by 9, it was all gone and dried up. :o

We were in Mark's today, oh it was wonderful, I said, can we move in, bring the cats, no need to worry about us, there is plenty to eat, LOL. A friend of ours works in there, I did beg to stay, help out, tidy shelves, fuss and potter.

Coffee and brunch was very nice in Nero's, sadly, the AC units had packed up, so I was lathered and coffee did not help matters. I said to one of the staff who we know well, " keep pressing the button, make it work " She was puce, as were the other Baristas, we managed to get our fav seats just in time, before about 20 people came in. Mind, it would not be the first time that people have hurried up and left, so that I can sit down, restores your faith a little in human kindness. OH has a special wallet for all the coffee / drinks loyalty cards. There are at least a 12.
Yes Barbara, I remember that form at the physio's, I lost the will about half way through, it went on forever.................................scoring this, that, the other, how is it now, how was it then, what score this.............oh please. Then, after all the visits, they said there was nothing else they could do.....................

We tried not to be out too long, because of the pus cats, home, windows open and AC on, nice breeze earlier, but I am sure the house is a big storage heater !!

Right, I must move, I am melting, again. I pray it will get cooler, very soon. Staying home Thursday, potter, fuss, in laws coming for coffee and croissants.

Everyone take care, hope you can sleep better tonight. Love and hugs XXXX Aidan

    :hammock: :splash: :too-hot:

Don't think I can cope with this much longer. Last night I felt as though I slept in a gooey puddle. :o My patch came off, even with the tape on it. I felt really strange when I woke up. And tonight isn't going to be any better from what our local weather says. :?

Joan, so sorry to hear that Osteoporosis has got hold of your foot.

Aidan, I can hear Puss from here. Or are you trying to make it rain by singing? I don't mind in the least.

You are right Aidan it is to do with bloods. Although my inflammation is okay its the 'other' score that shows Humira isn't working so I wouldn't get funding for it anyway.

Why didn't they say so! I mean there is nothing on my letter after my appointment saying humira isn't working just would I like to change. (shrug).

Hip meeting was okay. I'm in the loop now but going to see if the rituximab helps as they think I'm a little young for a THR-even though I had one 7 years ago. Isn't life confusing.

I'm reading a short history of England in the garden and loving it as its cooler out doors.

OH decided he'd like to show me a Ford (think it was a C Max Aidan) today so ordering a new car has been delayed. I am wondering if the change over will trigger the PIP Aidan. Mind you I can barely walk so might be a good thing. Think it is Osteo in my foot- like Joan.

Kath it was overwhelmingly hot last night so not surprised the patch came off.

I think you are wise not to sign up for lifetime membership Christine. Once they've got your details the onus is on you to remember to cancel things. I'd have loved to dip my feet in the pool too.
    Lie-in tomorrow at last!

    Take care

Sorry to be so late on everyone.

It is too hot though today l think has been slightly better.

We've still had no rain at all.

I'm not surprised about the patch coming off Kath!

Elizabeth I am sorry they won't get you straight on the list for your hip even though they're only stalling for time. Chances are the damage is already doe you it ::)

Barbara I too like to sit under air conditioners if I get the chance!! He he!

Feel free to come down with mig then we can all laugh so much they kick me out of the village ;)

Filling the freezers maybe?? Lovely and cool :)

Lucy wants us to get a pool or a 'cold' hot-tub.

Joan it's horrible that the osteoporosis has caused the break :( ((()))

Aidan be careful I am sure the cardio chap knows best, but it can't be good extra angina attacks :?

All went well for Lucy - now we just have to wait for the date to come through. Hopefully not too long fingers crossed :)

I had several cold showers yesterday before after hospital and before bed. Only works for a while.

Daisycat is still full of energy although sleeping well. She ignores the birds in favour of mice and voles :)

Apparently dogs, Christine do bark at bots. Daisycat takes not a blind bit of notice!! Bless her.

It sounds as though all the machines at work can't cope with the heat!

The shower head had to have been the last straw :(

    Oh well

    here's to a better night's sleep eh?

Aiden, I'm not surprised you've felt washed out. It's ok them saying not to worry but we do anyway. I'm sure though if there was a problem, they would do something about it. Glad everything was ok at the dentist. Mine seems to find something to do most times I go. Hope things were a little cooler today.

Joan, you have a broken bone in your foot. No wonder it was painful. Are they doing anything about it for you?

Barbara, I found ants in the compost bin last week. I checked on Gardeners World on how to get rid of them but they said to leave them as they would help break the garden waste down. I'm just worried about them coming up the garden and in to the house. Mind you, my daughter used to have ants coming in the front door and disappear through a hole somewhere. Nothing worked to get rid of them but they never bothered them at all. I've actually found another site which offers courses at a reduced rate. I'll see what they've got. Next time, you should get in the pool. Why not? :splash:

Kath, it's a few degrees cooler here now. Hope things feel better for you.

Elizabeth, maybe you're getting younger. Hopefully the rituximab will work for you. It was only a one off payment for the membership. Nothing else to pay ever. It would be a really good deal if I was to do quite a few courses but not sure I would want to and it's a lot to find all at once.

Toni, I gave the garden a good drenching at teatime and then it rained for about an hour so I hope that was enough. Can I come too? Sounds as if it will be a right giggle. We could play tag with the mowbot. Glad it went well at Lucy's pre-op. Hope the appointment comes through quickly now.

A local woman who has severe OA and a brain tumour has had her mobility car taken off her with PIP. She says she can no longer get to work or even to her GP as she can't walk more than a few yards so she's now housebound. She was interviewed on the local radio. It's shocking how they can do this.

Work wasn't too bad today. They are all off on holiday at the weekend so there are bags and bags of new clothes and holiday stuff all over the bedroom floors. I just hoovered round them. It was on the news earlier that a 2 1/2 mile section of rail track is to be closed for 15 days as the track is 150 years old and desperately needs replacing. British Rail are putting busses on but everyone is complaining about the inconvenience. How can they replace the rails if they don't close the track? Bet those people would be the first to complain if the train derailed.

Joan your poor fret, but you just carry on..I think you are an inspiration ..hope you have lovely day with Sue and your little doggy's.. :)
Toni a pool what a good idea...I cant see the point of hottubs ..for swimmers it would be a cop out...I know they are expensive but would it be a brilliant addition..dont worry about cleaning it out me and Mig will do that.. :D so glad all is well at Lucy's pre-op ..yes I hope its not long now..have you applied for the funding for her shoulder yet... ?
Christine I dont blame you for hoovering around there clothes..we have many ants outside..its a long time since they came in the house and we put the powder down around the walls..they seem to remember .. :) that is terrible toi treat the lady like that..she has enough to deal with ..hopefully she will appeal..
Elizabeth glad to hear the hip appointment went ok and you are in the loop..how odd that they will do one and not the other..will the rituximab help with joint damage ...

Oh bliss, it was considerably cooler last night, so managed to get some sleep. Been napping in my chair while listening to my podcasts. Lovely.

What do you all think of the new plan for GPs sending out letters to patients who haven't been seen for 5 years? They send out two letters, and if they don't get a reply, they are taken off the list! Don't think any of us need worry though.

Joan, are they changing you to a new Osteoporosis drug? My consultant is considering giving me a once a year infusion now I've stopped Alendronic Acid.

Christine, OH puts ant powder around the outside of the porch to stop them getting in. We don't worry about those in the composter. :D

Toni, I'm glad Lucy's pre op was OK. It will be nice for her to get rid of one lot of pain, so hope she doesn't have to wait too long.

Elizabeth, thinking about you and your hip. I hope you get it sorted.

Oh dear Aidan, hope you had a cooler night with a good sleep. Just read a tip on FB from a lady with Fibro. Put an opened bar of soap at the bottom of your bed between the bottom sheet and mattress cover. It's supposed to help you sleep. If you try it, you will have to let us know if it works. I don't suppose it will help the kitties.

Sun's out, but I don't think it's going to be TOO hot again.

Just a quick hello to one and all - hope everyone is as ok as possible. I will read back and write more as and when I actually cool down. At the moment, I just cannot get cool, even with the AC on full.
I remember my Dr saying that my body thermostat was up the creek, a long time ago. Well, it hasn't improved that's for sure.

I know I am not alone in this super warm weather. They said 21 degrees and we get 26 plus, barely a drop of rain when they say thunderstorms and downpours. Really? Where?

Sorry I cannot write more at the moment, kind of hit a wall - but, I will bounce back. Even coffee and scones where not enjoyable and that's saying something. :o:o

Hugs, well, chilled hugs and love to all XX Aidan

Aiden dont go worrying about posting..I dont want you being stressed at all..have you tried the ice on your neck and wrist..sorry if I am telling you how to suck eggs..you relax and I just hope it cools down for you very soon..

Joan, that seems like a long time to wait for your feet. Well not for your feet. For your appointment for your feet.

Barbara, it was a bit cooler here too, thank goodness. Still didn't get enough sleep though. Not to worry. it's the weekend. I'm hoping for rain here tonight as I'm too tired to go and water the garden. I've done some of the pots but that's enough for now. You must be relieved that your son is back home. The baby must have missed him. Yes, I wonder how Toady is. Hope she's ok.

Kath, I'm so glad you got some sleep last night and a nap. It makes us feel so much better. In the past, I hardly ever visited my GP. I guess as long as they try to contact patients to let them know, it is a way of cleaning up their lists and wiping off anyone who no longer lives in the area. Another tip I read about keeping cool was to put a bowl of ice in front of a fan. Not sure what a bar of soap would do.

Aiden, I do feel for you. Don't worry about reading back. It's too hot and you're obviously too restless. Just pop in when you feel up to it.

I recorded a programme about steam trains the other night. Just put it on and was asked for my PIN as I'm watching it before 9pm. Whatever did they get up to on those trains?

My boss and his family are off on holiday tomorrow for 3 weeks. I thought my boss would have told me to take a week off but he said I could please myself. I think I'll see how the weather is. If it's raining, I might as well work. If it's a nice day, I won't. :hammock:

Does anyone want a bluebottle? I've got one free to a good home. It is very affectionate. :x

    Hi everyone

    it's HOT hot hot!!

We finally had half a dozen drops of rain :(

Have made a good start on the pond. The roots are about 4inches thick!!

    I have taken photos.

I am glad you can not go in if it's too hot Christine. :) My dyson is not well atm :( That scary burning smell accompanied by a noise :?

Barbara I am glad your boy is safely home :)

The mow-bot still mowed in the (6) drops of rain ;) Think they might be one up on husbands

I think of toady often too I hope she is ok :(

Aidan just take it steady in this heat. Like you the actual heat is several degrees u on what it's supposed to be :(

Maybe we need chilled coffee? Last year Costa did a great sticky toffee cooler...yum! 3 million calories of course...

I don't agree with that about people getting struck off!! It's really bad. We are all entitled to a GP and some go lots so it evens out grr!!!

and CAPITA are doing it those did Lucy's PIP assessment.

Joan I hope you are all cool enough there. I bet the dogs are listless? ((()))

Right onwards and upwards cool shower time :)

    Love to everyone

Right, I am a bit more settled and a wee bit cooler now, we have had the AC on up to 1130, then we took the window grill in. Sorry I had a bit of a wobble..............I did manage to have a bit of a nap, with the fan on.............
I am glad the pre op went ok for Lucy, as you say, a waiting time now. I will take as much care as I can, I am off to see my Cardio in a couple of weeks, so we will have a good chat and our usual review. He knows me very well and has looked after me for 20 years.
Glad the mobot is doing its thing, even with two drops of rain.

I think we should all move into the cool comfort of Mark's simply food hall for a week, until things cool down. Mind you, I would be the size of a house end and blood sugar would be off the scale :lol:

Kath, I can sympathise with you in this heat. It is supposed ( I use the word loosely ) to cool down a bit over the coming days, let's hope so. We could try and rain dance, but I don't think we would get very far with the jumping up and down.  Glad it was cooler for you and you managed to get some sleep. I hadn't heard about the 5 year thing from GP's, seems unfair, just because the person doesn't go see them, they still receive payment for each patient. No, none of us need worry, they don't leave us alone at all, lol. Soap, under the sheets, well, that is a new one too

The C max is really nice Elizabeth, we are thinking about it as an option this time. A bit smaller than the S Max, but just as comfy to sit in. Who knows why these letters and results get muddled, as long as you are more to the wise now and in the loop. We will have to keep up to date on the PIP, see if anything is triggered.

Christine, that is just horrendous that the poor lady has had her motability car taken off her. Oh I would be on to the MP and everyone I can think of. We are about to change our car soon, and I am dreading the new PIP assessment. My Cardio said, they want you nearly dead before they leave you alone and say yes, it is unforgivable. I don't blame you for hoovering round the clothes, I would have done the same. :D Enjoy some time off as and when you feel like it over the coming weeks.

I do keep running cold water over my wrists for a minute or two Barbara, that does help a bit, cools the blood down a little. We had a few spots of drizzle last night......nothing to speak of, so OH watered everything, after cutting the lawn, cutting the hedges, moving lots of plants.............been very busy.

I think we do need chilled coffee Toni, frappe is it called........I am going to ring the BBC weather and tell them to speak the truth, not lies about the temperatures, lol. 21 degrees, my eye. Those roots sound like monsters.

Hope you are ok Joan, doggies and Sue too.

I had better move, I am getting warm again and a little potter will not hurt. We have 2 tons of chippings coming for the garden today, well, nine tons in total, 7 for next door and 2 for us. They are having a gravelled drive and we need some more where we park at the back, plus OH wants to get rid of some of the lawn, only a small ish area. I bet the lorry turns up at 8 in the morning.

I will supervise and make T. Plus in laws are coming for hair cuts, so OH will be meeting himself coming back...............
Everyone take lots of care, XXXXX Aidan

Good morning Aidan :D I hope you are feeling ok-ish again today. I can feel air outside for the first time in days and days.

They are fibbing about the high temperatures without a doubt.

It was ridiculous and no wonder your ticker knocked you silly! Glad you are due to see cardio soon ((()))

A lot on for your OH today then? Was the extra gardening to help make today easier?? I suspect it was. Any reduction in lawn-mowing is good in my book;)

Nice to see the family even for haircuts!! You'll definitely be tea-making and hair sweeping!!!

I don't even think about how bad this PIP business is for people :( Cars taken from people because they get given artificial legs etc

Rightyho frappes all round :) (I remember now thanks!)

Iced tea for anyone who wants it too :)

Can you see the improvements in the pond??

    th_20160723_091510.jpg

The roots being so deep present Daisycat danger I would hate to think of her trapped under them  :( so have borrowed Paul's tarp, when she's outside alone, until it's properly cleared out. There are some lovely lilypad flowers (are the poisonous for pusskins????) so won't massacre the lot. Although Tia is rather enthusiastic with her help!!!

Mow-bot is out working hard :)

Hi Joan - thanks - I hope Lucy's op is sooner rather than later too. A new hoover for me then. I'm thinking maybe a lightweight rechargeable????

    Take care everyone.

Oh no your poor friend's friend!!

I hope she gets some water soon :(

    Scary.

Daisycat isn't bothered about birds much here either. In fact she walks the perimeter and they are just feet away from her. No, small rodents are her thing now ;)

If you can get a photo I would love to see it.

This is her supervising pond clearing ;)

I do indeed talk to the bot!! Quite a lot and sometimes he sort of sneaks up on me he's so quiet! I have to move all my clutter quickly. He has to run all day for 7 days then I can set him to work at night if we prefer.
