Yes, Uncle Sylvester looks very glamorous when he first opens up. But the flowers quickly turn a Yukky brownish beige. He is also about 7 feet tall, but I believe there are shorter varieties.
Toni, I'm very happy to see Daisycat out exploring the garden.
Aidan, sorry to hear you've been having problems with Pomphlyx. Never heard of it before, but it sounds dreadful.
We've had the boiler serviced today. Just after OH had finished the housework. As he has OCD, he had to start over when the engineer had finished."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon Toni, Barbara, Kath, Mig, Christine, Elizabeth, Joan
Well, at least I have remembered peoples names this time. Fybro Fog is a naughty beast, that along with hands like pin cushions, a shed load of pills, no wonder I was three sheets to the wind........
Borderline human again today. Daisycat does get into some places, glad there is an easy way down though. I remember seeing one in france on the third floor window ledge, crying to go in........we had to hurry away, I was almost frantic.
Looking forward to the robot being wired up and fired up, cannot wait to see it
OH parents, who I call Mum n Dad, live very close by. My parents passed away a while back now. Don't worry, I rabbit on and confuse myself, let alone other people.
Cakes and coffee tomorrow, before OH uncle and aunt, go back down south.
It all looks spotless in the cafe Toni. I have brought some panatone from Nero's, wonderful toasted with lashings of butter.
Hi Barbara, glad you had a nice break, good to see you safely back. Warts are funny things, this one is about the size of a 10p piece, looks worse than it is after being frozen, so OH dresses it before we go out, out. The Dr said, when these have gone, some more might appear somewhere else, well, they had better not, thanks all the same.
The silver spray should be here tomorrow, so I will start with that. You can use the spray on just about anything, you can even drink it. Great for pets too. Kills just about everything. One reason they always use silver for the Chalice in Church.
Pompholyx is just so annoying, one day things are all calm, then the next, blisters, splits, peeling skin................grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am slathering dermovate on at least three times a day.
Joan, hope you are and Sue are ok and enjoying trips out with the lovely doggies.
Kath, I hope the plant is not trying to get in the house lol. I can totally understand the OCD, I had major problems many years ago, needed a lot of help to get over it, as in over two years of seeing Psychologist............thankfully it is well under wraps now. Just every so often I feel as if I have to go clean something, even though I know it is clean already. It is hard.
Hope you are ok Mig, Christine and Elizabeth............
Time for pills, medicate pus cat too.....bless........Hugs all round, take lots of care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I forgot to mention Daniel has his prom tonight. OH is taking him i Grandads Rolls Royce. I'm just hoping it makes it there! He looks very smart in a suit and bow tie.
He's actually not had his headphones on for over a week and we've been making him go to bed much earlier. I have had to get OH on board as my sleep pattern is all over the place and he as made an effort at last to enforce the rules.
Thank you for the ice cold 'hot'water bottle tip Kath. I ever thought of that. I think its my age. I remember having a painful shoulder which disturbed my sleep and hindered dressing..As soon as I took humira it stopped hurting.
I'm on statins now due to high cholesterol but have had a funny heart rhythm o and off ever since. I have to go and lie down and relax. My D. has been so lovely looking out for me.
Christine I did see your post but didn't post a comment as it seems like you have a lot of support.
Aidan I have lots of warts on my hands. They have died down at the moment but do flare up often. I did try the silver duct tape trick and felt this worked quite well with the stubborn ones. The wart freezing was IMO less successful.
Toni my first cat used to climb up to my bedroom window at night to be let in, same sort of roof as in your photo which is a bit slippy and steep. I used to have kittens (no pun intended) because he had to crawl back along the window ledge so I could open the window to let him in.
I must post as I feel I'm going to lose it. So hugs to one and all,
Elizabeth xxNever be bullied into silence.

Hi Elizabeth! Yes Daisycat can get into Tia or Lucy's bedrooms from the roof - I think that's what she's after doing the little monkey!!
Lovely to hear Dan went to prom I hope he enjoyed himself. A Rolls Royce in the family? I hope it got there ok too
Good to hear he is sleeping better and your OH is helping you enforce the routine. It does sound a bit as though he (Daniel) is growing up a lot
I know what you mean Aidan - I was frantic with Daisycat and she could easily get down, which is why I posted that photo not the one of a wee face peeping over the edge which is scary!!!
I thought you mean OH's parents! You are an orphan like me
Oooh panatone!! Sounds delicious!
OCD is horrible and totally controlling you did well to get on top of it, even with that help.
Enjoy your coffee and cakes with Aunt and Uncle
Kath your poor OH must have struggled with his OCD when you had your cancer. I struggled not to overdo it myself with hygiene.
The only piccies you tend to see of Uncle Sylvester tend to be of them looking glorious so thanks to the info on the brown bit!
Barbara the cat's protection lady has 5 cats, but she is 'down Joyce's lane' so a little way. I myself have seen a black cat. The farm is within hearing distance so must have cats. :?
Is it worth ringing the hotel to see what bed/mattresses they use if you want to change yours??
I have no idea how we eat those breakfasts, but somehow we all manage it!!!
Thank you Joan Daisycat is a tiny one and slim too so she can get everywhere I was scared the first time she got up there, but I know she can get off safely
Love to you all
Toni xx0 -
Morning all...the sun is trying to come out ..maybe maybe not
Elizabeth you will be so proud to see Dan all dressed up a real young man bless..and to arrive in the RR..wow..hope he has a lovely time ..and he is doing well not wearing the headphone has much..hope you feel more yourself very soon..
Toni I think I just might ring the hotel..she did say thy were all change a couple of years ago so they should be still around...hope Lucy op will be soon after the pre-op less waiting for you both..can just see Daisy cat protecting her little area..
Aiden I am glad to hear you feel a little better ..nice just to be quiet when feeling rotten...how lovely to call your inlaws mum and dad..they must think a lot of you..the wart my son had didn't come back thank goodness they did warm us..many years ago now so he has done well..hope you have a good day with your aunt before they go back..
Kath I sometime wish mu OH had OCD..sorry I know its not nice but he is so messy ..he is just learning now I cant do what I used to..so he is trying..
Hello Joan hope you both have a good day..do you still get to your favorite cafe..
Is Christine ok not seen her around..
Didnt tell you about the seagull on holiday we had the room window open and the next min it was on the ledge with its head through the window..not a clue what we would have done if it had got in..
Love to everyone xxxxxLove

Letter from rheumy clinic arrived today. No, not blood test results. The next best thing though. Not quite a DAS result because of missing blood test results. But, I have 11 tender joints, 7 swollen joints. VAS 80, CRP 39 ESR 35. Now for Osteoporosis results. Lumbar spine = BMD 1.288, T +0.7, Z +2.3
Femoral neck = 0.749, -1.9, -0.5
Total hip = 0848, T -1.3, Z-0.1
Multiple fractures making spine BMD unreliable
-3.9% loss femoral neck. -44.0 % loss total loss total hip between 2013 and 2016.

I will have to study the results Kath, I only did a short stint on Ortho, so this is out of my remit. The simplest results I can find are these
A T score of between +1 and -1 is classed as normal.
A T score between -1 and -2.5 indicates osteopenia, an early form of osteoporosis.
A T score below -2.5 suggests the person has osteoporosis.
There is a lot of information on the net, some of it is very in depth and lost me completely (bless).
Has the Dr said anything else or are they waiting for the full blood results?
Kind of in a pretty flat mood, with the terrible events in France, it makes you wonder at the evil that people do to others.
Just watching tennis and doing some pottering as well.
OH Uncle and Aunt have gone back home, way down south..........we had coffee and scones at the garden centre before they set off, which was nice
The colloidal sliver spray arrived, so I am putting that on my warty arm, to help heal the frozen area, which is as black as soot. I know we used silver nitrite in hospital, up noses I remember, to stop bleeding.
Hugs and take care to everyone, xxxx AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi everyone. Just popping in quickly for a hot chocolate. Hope you are all doing ok. Will catch up tomorrow. Love to everyone.Christine0

Hello Kathleen Aidan Christine and anyone else I missed.
Kathleen I have osteoporosis in my hip I was told if you have it there you have it all over your body.
Aidan how nice to have coffee and scones with them be fore they went. yes that was upsetting in France.
Christine enjoy your chocolate. it's cold outside.
have a good weekend everyone.

There you are Aiden. Thought you must still be frozen. Hope your arm is ok. Don't like the sound of it being black. Don't worry about reading back. I think we all get a bit mixed up with it if there is a lot to read. I know I do. Not heard of pomphlyx. Don't like the sound of that either. Hope everything is a bit better today. Panetone. Mmmm. My boss's mum is Italian so at Christmas, there are always several panetones on the go. I can't eat them any more being wheat intolerant but we all used to help ourselves with a cuppa. The silver spray sounds good. I'll have to look out for it.
Toni, I saw you pushing that broken cup under the counter. It's not like you. Hope all goes to plan with Lucy's appointment and your wire laying. Be careful on the roof Daisycat. Don't slip.
Welcome home Barbara. Hope you've had a lovely break. It's strange how we can eat much more on holiday. Wonder if it's because we don't need to cook it and we're more relaxed about things. I never eat a big breakfast at home but love a full one on holiday. Hope you can find out what sort of bed you slept in. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a good night's sleep every night. I can just picture the seagull popping his head in the window.
Kath, your plant sounds lovely. It's a shame the flowers don't look good as they die off. Hope the boiler man didn't leave too much mess but I guess your OH felt he did.
Elizabeth, I hope Dan had a good time at his prom. Bet he looked very handsome in his suit. Glad your OH is helping out with enforcing the rules now.
Joan, sorry it's cold where you are. Hope it warms up and you have a lovely weekend. The temperatures are supposed to go quite high next week.
Still doing my course. The other night, the tutor said she had 2 big announcements to make at the end of the lesson. The first one was that one person would win a lifetime membership to the academy so they could take every course now and in the future if they wanted to. I didn't win. The next announcement was that everyone was to be offered a lifetime membership at a reduced rate. It's normally £1000 but we can have it for £400. Sounds like a great offer but they were very pushy, even phoned me up and said they could sign me up there and then. That's made alarm bells ring so don't think I am going for it.
Latest on the autistic children's home. One of our local footballers was recently in the paper saying that he does a lot for charity. Yesterday, he was in the paper because the house is near where he lives and he objected on the planning application saying he doesn't want his daughter subjected to antisocial behaviour. A lot of people don't like him any more and some have said they won't go to a football match if he's playing.
My son went off on holiday the other day. First of all, he couldn't check in the kids. He and his wife were ok but it looked as if the kids had to be 16. I managed to check the youngest in eventually and my son just put that the other two were 16. I got a call to say he'd run out of ink so could I print the boarding passes. I then noticed my son and his wife were together at the back of the plane. The two eldest together 2 rows in front and the 3 year old at the front of the plane on her own. :? I then got a text half an hour after they landed in Spain at 9.30pm asking if I could find the phone number of the apartment owner as they needed to get the key off her. I sent him the number but heard nothing else till 11.30pm when he said everything was ok. Doesn't matter how old your kids are, they are always a worry. :too-hot:Christine0 -
Hi There Joan Elizabeth Barbara Mig Christine Toni Kath Rose and all who happen by...........Hope everyone is as ok as possible.
I am forcing myself to carry on pottering and doing little bits. I would happily sit in my chair or lay on the bed..........Another coffee and I will be fine :? I think.
Hope you enjoyed the hot Choccy Christine. No, I am thawed out now, in fact the other way. Last night was SO humid I thought I would melt away.
It sounds like your Son and family had quite an adventure, just getting to their destination. As you say, no matter the age........says me, with no children, but I know what you mean exactly. Let's hope they have an uneventful time, but an enjoyable one.
The college sounds like they are being a bit pushy to say the least. Lucky for one person, but they really should not bother people at home.
I am annoyed with the footballer, they are normally the ones who champion a worthy endeavour. Shame on him for objecting. I hope no one turns up at their matches. Life is full of challenges and young people need to learn that, he cannot wrap his daughter in cotton wool, just in case. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hope it is warmer for you today Joan. I will have to send all the heat your way, we can do a swap. It looks to be about 28 on Tuesday, so the AC unit will be on and no mistake. At least it is not forecast to roast us all the week through.
Breakfast on holiday is wonderful Barbara, but put it in front of me first thing at home and I might go green. A scone is more than enough at 11 ish. Glad you had a good time and slept so well, definitely give them a call and ask what mattress they use.
Toni, no more pushing crockery under the bin, lol. Hope all is well in the new house, lots of things to do, an endless list I bet. Daisycat has certainly found her feet, which is v good.
The pomphlyx is abating, subdued by the cloba derm cream. The silver spray is already helping with the healing on my arm, so it is going on all lumps and bumps. It is even ok to drink, if you so wished. Wonder if it helps with fine lines and wrinkles, no, not wrinkles, expression lines.
mum n dad will be here soon for coffee and croissants. I know, a scone free day.
Nephew and little one coming tomorrow, so we will all go out for lunch, which will be nice.
I had better go potter........Hugs to one and all. Enjoy the sunshine, while I sit by the window in the cafe, topping up on coffee. XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Good morning Aidan
very hot and humid at 23 yesterday, but the bungalow seems cool so far Get that A/C unit up and running!
Paul and I went to see ad-fab the movie. It was ok silly but ok. LOADS of famous faces. Rylan Clarke, Richard off Good Morning, Kate Moss ,(obviously), Lulu etc etc
I hope you enjoy the nephew and little one visiting you and somehow manage to get hold of some scones
Daisycat got 3 yes 3!!! voles yesterday the little monkey. We 'saved' 2 though unless it was the same one 3 times :?
Glad to hear the Pm'lx is going!!!!
Am also devastated about France
Christine I am ashamed about the broken cup  I was busy though so sorry
I totally agree with you about the college 'offer' a bit cheeky to be so pushy. You did right not to sign up.
That footballer is ignorant and selfish - I hope everyone boycotts matches he is in and the club have to sack him. Grrr
What a mess your son's holiday was!! I hope it goes smoothly from now on. Of course they would have swapped with the little one and she wouldn't have been on her own I'm sure.
Imagine them all now sunning themselves in Spain :hammock:
Hi Joan I hope it's ok for you weather-wise it's lovely here. Are you cool in your bungalow?
Daisycat in the livingroom in front of the fire
Oh Kath I am so sorry about the ospteoporosis. Those steroids and the chemo won't have helped you. Sending you extra ((()))
Barbara did you try the hotel? I hope so because a good night's sleep is so important. If the bed is too low as well get some bed-blocks to raise it
That seagull sounded a bit nosey - glad it thought better of coming in the room!!!
Love to all

Hello Christine Aidan and anyone else I missed

Morning all
I put a very long post on yesterday and its gone.Im fuming :? ...I remember telling Christine that i was printing train tickets for my eldest son.,,like she says you have not done when they are grown up.....anyhow glad to see they got there ok Christine and I did read about the footballer..its terrible
Kath that is some list hope you can get your head round it..and Im sure Aiden can help...
Joan glad to hear you still go to the cafe..you should be warmer today..and over the next few days..32 in some places.. :too-hot:
Toni..I love the pic and no I haven't rang the hotel yet..but will do..the receptionist was so busy when we were there ..so might get OH to ring I did answer your post about the cats in the community..and the ones down Joyce lane..wouldn't it be nice if that was your name and you lived there.. hope that Lucy pre-op goes to plan..
Aiden I think you said your family had now gone back down south...and you are still pottering...get the AC ready for next week..I hope you are feeling a little better..its not like you..and good to hear your silver cream has arrived..and you could offer some help to kath..
today OH is running our youngest son to Piccadilly station for his trip to Banbury ..he is 41 and I am still worried ..especially has he as 2 changes..he picks up his van there then off to Nottingham for more training..then home..
The sun has just come out ..and its getting hot...we have the rd closed till ten for the ironman cyclist going past..the first one was 6 this morning after the swin...then a marathon..
Better go before I lose this one...love to all xxxxxxx
Just seen you there there Joan glad at least you have your results..now things can move on for you xLove
Barbara0 -
Not sure what I did there but the page has suddenly got bigger. I can see it better so that's ok.
Aiden, yes the weather forecast said possibly 30 degrees in some places. I'm hoping not round here or I don't think I'll be able to work. Hope you've got your aircon on. Glad the pomphlyx is clearing. No we do not have wrinkles, we have, as you say, expression lines or laughter lines. Enjoy your lunch out today with your nephew and the little one.
Toni, you do so much cleaning and tidying in here that I'm sure we can forgive you one broken cup. Daisycat wasn't hoping for the fire to be on was she? It'll be lovely having a fire there in winter.
Joan, I hope your doctor will have some answers for you about your x-ray.
Barbara, I was talking to my sister yesterday. Her 21 year old daughter has just moved in to her own flat with the baby. Apparently, she phones or texts my sister about 20 times a day asking things or telling her what she's doing. I told her that it still goes on even when our kids are much older and she groaned and said oh no. Sounds as if your son had quite a journey. Hope his trains were all on time. It always worries me as there always seem to be so many delays or cancelled trains. The ironman contest is tiring enough just thinking about it.
I picked 2 big bowlfuls of strawberries yesterday so took one round for my sister with a few sticks of rhubarb as my plant is going a bit crazy just now. I've also got enough gooseberries for a pie. I'm going to have to make room in the freezer at this rate.Christine0 -
I can't remember who mentioned neighbours complaining about the Autistic children . I'd swap with any of them. They'd soon complain if they had some of our neighbours nearby. Give me the autistic children any day.
I'm sorry. have to stop typing as it hurts too much. :?"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Just sitting down for a rest and a drink. Been weeding in the garden.
Kath, it was me who said about people living near a house which the owner is hoping to turn in to a home for autistic children. The house stands in it's own grounds and has a fence and hedge round it and a big gate. There is no way 5 children will be any problem at all. Wish I could do something to help with your pain. Here are some very gentle (((hugs))).
Toni, look who I found under one of the grass recycling bags. Think it's either mum or dad. About the size of my loose fist.
Christine0 -
I'll take the house next to it. They will soon be wanting to go back, some of my neighbours leave a lot to be desired! 5 autistic children would be dream neighbours for me.
Would love a toad or two too."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all
Christine thanks my son has just rang..and he is at the hotel..the train from leminton was not on so they put a coach on to Banbury..now I can relax...what a brilliant pic you have took there..not a clue if its mum or dad..wonder what you have to look for... :? you have a nice sit in your garden now..its lovely here..hope you have the same..your sister must think you are kidding...
Poor Kath like Christine says I wish I could help you with the blinking pain..I hope you get some relief very soon (()) x
I have just bought a dress in the sale from the garden center..the first for years I have been living in trousers..not like me but I try to hide my swelled leg caused by these kidneys...this is around 8 inches above the ankle and is lovely on ..so I feel good ..it goes to show how our mood can be lifted..
Hope you all have a good day...xxxxxxLove

Three Voles, oh Daisycat, what are you like, a champion catcher without a doubt. We needed you in France. As you said Toni, it might be the same vole, doing the rounds...........
I have seen the advertising for the Ab Fab movie, I like to remember the series, I think they were brilliant, first time round. I loved Bubbles of course Sometimes the films never quite hit the mark, even if they are good to a point. Does all that make sense? I am confused already. :?
Lovely pic of our resident vole catcher Puskins, in front of what is a very nice fire.
Hope the warm weather that is on the way, eases some pains Joan, I know you like it hot. Tuesday is looking like a melting hot day here and we are way up t'north. lol. We have already planned not to go out on Tuesday and keep the curtains shut and the AC on all day, that way we should keep our cool. Hope the visit to the Drs goes ok, do they do the repeat x rays to keep a check on any deterioration etc?
Barbara, you and I will be no use the next few hot days. We can make room for you to come sit by the chilling machine. If it gets to 30 I am out for the count.
I read your post yesterday, where did it go? ? ? We have a post pincher in the midst
Driving to Piccadilly, that sounds scary enough, without having to change twice on the train. Nottingham, ahh, my old home town. He will be fine, but I know you will worry, as we all do.............
Triathlon, I admire them all, swimming, cycling, then running, goodness, take some training and stamina. I have enough trouble getting to the kitchen in the morning.
Hope the page is not too big Christine, sounds like you hit the font size button somewhere along the line, but, if it easier then that's fine.
I will have to do some chores in the cafe, poor Toni is often wielding a duster and hoover. I used to be forever cleaning in here.
Your niece must be very quick with her texts, keeping mum up to speed. Bless.
Strawberries and cream it is then, they will go nicely with a warm scone or two. I remember rhubarb and a bowl of sugar when we were little.
Sending hugs Kath, I know you are in pain and typing is hurting. Take lots of care
Oh, I nearly missed the lovely picture of froggy. Wonderful. I was going to catch a pic of one that was sat on the grass box, under our decking, he was huge. By time I got the phone, he had jumped off into the bushes. I will keep an eye out for him again.
Had a lovely lunch with Nephew and little one, who his 3. I had haddock chips and mushy peas, with homemade tartar sauce, mmmmmmmmmm. Love mushy peas and the haddock was the size of a whale.
It is a lovely pub, we often go to, very old coaching inn. They even forgot to add the coffee's and T onto the bill, so that was a bonus, lol. We treated everyone. (mum n dad in law too).
Right, pills, potter, sort some washing, the dryer is NOT going on on Tuesday, no matter what.
Take lots of care, hi to Mig and everyone else. Keep cool, or warm, depending on how you like it. Out neighbours had the heating on last evening, with the doors wide open.................. :too-hot: XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Good morning Joan I hope all is well with you both and doggies of course
Aidan Daisycat is a very good hunter always was and as a result has special permission to have her flea treatment 3 weekly.
The fire was 'exposed' especially for the photo but has a large mirror over it incase Daisycat goes up it as she tried on day 3!!!
She would have loved France, but not the move there bless her.
Are you are melting atm - I am it's so hot!!! Can't open window cause of all the gnats etc
I used to love ab fab, but agree with you little Britain was by far the best
I bet great-nephew is adorable! 3 is a lovely age. They can speak!!
I had done the same as Chrisine and my zoom was on 165% now back to 125% much better. It was the 'page' icon I hit
Christine I love the froggy Great Grandma I reckon!! Lovely colours against the bags
Of course a 21 year-old with a baby will ring Mum all the time - mine do and they don't have babies. Bless her I bet her Mum is also secretly glad to know she's ok
I bet your sister loved her strawberries. I have rhubarb here too I thought I had lost mine
Hi Kath I bet those complainers about the unit for the kids are actually horrible neighbours themselves!!
Barbara All that talk about Leamington, Banbury etc It's so lovey out there my MIL lives near Stratford so we go that way often.
Ah yes to be called Joyce and live on Joyce's Lane!!
I don't suppose there's a Toni's lane or a Barbara's Lane.....
Going to start looking
Get your OH on the phone to the hotel. The receptionist can always ring him back with the info when she gets a quiet moment
Right on wards and upwards for me...

Morning all..getting very warm... I'm ready for some summer..but...
Joan its not nice when you feel cold getting out of bed..at least you are not cold in the day..yes a dress the first for a couple of years..I have been living in trouser but they get a bit warm...
Toni I remember a neighbours cat getting up the chimney..in the days with soot...the lady was screaming and we went in to find a real mess..they got it our after a couple of hours but it ran round the house with sooty paws.. the fireplace is so lovely and homely..
Aiden I am on my way round ..just sit me next to the AC..and bring me cuppas now and then ..and I will be happy.. we have bought a bag of ice and I intend having lots of cold drinks...and I have a water spray for my face...I felt for the triathlon people its was so humid yesterday...glad you had a good time with your family especially the 3 year old..
Today we are taking DIL and children out while our son is away training...the children have finish school now..its a week early because they have built a new school...Niamh will go to it but big sister goes to high school...
Hope that Kath got some sleep last night..
Love to everyone xxxxxxLove
