A late good evening to everyone, Toni Elizabeth Barbara Kath Mig Christine Joan
et al
I am pretending I am not warm and that it is mid winter, we just have the heating on high,
Toni, we have yet to feel that there is air outside yet, maybe one day soon.............Indeed OH has had a very busy day, as have the neighbours. The delivery of 9 tons of chippings arrived and was placed pretty much where they were wanted, with the magic arm on the lorry.
I kept telling next door off for shovelling gravel, she has a heart condition too - I was getting worried.
OH has re covered the parking area for our car and also squared off the lawn with more gravel. It looks a lot better now. I am sure OH will be out for the count tonight - I am duly administering pain relief as needed.
The pond is coming along very nicely, those roots do look deep. Good idea to keep things covered with puskins being curious.
Well done for rescuing the mouse
Barbara - I hope you are a bit cooler - we will take some of your rain, with pleasure. The rivers are drying up around here. Sounds like the pus cats are taking over, lol.
There have been some horrid flies about, blue bottles are absolutely crazy, they fly everywhere at once in mad circles and like you say, they are hard to nab.
Next door was bitten by a horse fly today, so I was there with the anthisan cream. Neighbour opposite was bitten yesterday and ended up in hospital, antihistamines and antibiotics. That was a horse fly. I am keeping my electric tennis bat thing, at the ready, to zap any bugs. This extremely hot and humid weather has brought out monster insects.
Less grass is always a plus. We only have two little postage stamp size areas, so I cannot really justify a mobot, even though I want one. OH talks to the mower, but it is not repeatable.
I was reading about the horrendous tailbacks on the road to the port. 15 hour delays, oh my life I would be in a state and a half. I read they were airlifting water in by helicopter, as people were wilting. WILTING, I would have to be airlifted out. :too-hot: I know, with the terrible things that seem to be happening almost daily, that there has to be extra security, but that is a long long wait.
I think staying at home is a good idea, we don't really go into really busy places ie big towns or cities. Dangerous times we are living in.
Watching the tennis, from Washington, where it is nearly 40 degrees and high humidity  I remember walking around all the main memorials in Washington, then through Arlington, it was blistering hot then as well. A long time back. I was young and able, sigh.
Friend of Mum n Dad in law is coming over today, so we are off to the same pub, in the next village, for lunch. The food is SO good, I might have a smaller meal, then a larger pudding Rain is forecast too, hoorah and a degree cooler, happy days.
Kath Joan, Elizabeth, Mig, Christine, hope all is as ok as possible.
Everyone take lots of care XX AiidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hello Toni Barbara Aidan and anyone else I missed.
Toni my friend who has artificial legs was asked how far could she walk without them.
Barbara how is your friend now. the dogs still enjoy going out in this weather.
Aidan you enjoy your meal have you made up your mind what to have.

Morning!!
Joan that is disgusting to say that to someone with no legs! Grrr I hope she was firm in her reply.
Sounds as though your poor OH, Aidan, will be suffering today with aches and pains
What a good idea - pretending the heating is on too high!!
AS you know Daisycat is rather inquisitive so the tarp is essential until I think it's a bit safer.
Did I say I dropped my phone in the pond??? The roots probably saved it because it's ok!!!
Right sleeves up
(At least there's a hoover here - mine is still not replaced )
and
finally

I had a weird dream last night. I was with one of the cancer ladies (we've never actually met in real life). There was a snow storm. I woke up freezing and had to cover up pdq.
Then chucked the covers off even quicker.
sorry, back is killing me. Have to go. At the chest clinic tomorrow."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Toni Dasiycat is so mischievous and really cute being so little..bless..think I would talk to the mowbot.. but scary its sneaks up on you... glad your phone is ok..my friends friend got water ..a lorry driver had quite a bit in his cab..she said this is what England is all pulling together when needed..
Aiden I have been told to think cold..but I dont have an imagination.. cooler here but still humid..anything that bites gets me..I now have a phobia of horse flies..hare the things..you enjoy your pub meal with your inlaws friends..nothing nicer...
Joan that awful asking your friend how far can they walk without legs for goodness sake I would have lost my temper with them..
Kath I hope that back gives you some peace soon..your dream sounds like the one on the advert for Macmillan nurses..very moving it is..
just sat here chilling..middle GD is on her way...she always ask when we have been shopping and not before....
Love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Hello Toni Kathleen Barbara and anyone else I missed.
Toni when we go swimming my friend has legs she can put on for the water she can swim but her legs stick up in the air and water shoots out of a little hole. daisycat is lovely.
Kathleen good luck at the chest clinic. i'm sorry your back is still hurting.

Afternoon all
Joan I hope your friend keeps her benefit she sounds like she just gets on with things like you do..yes its a bit cooler here..thank goodness..I wont have another appointment for my back but can ring up if I decide on surgery or things get worse..hope you have had a good day
Been to my GP this morning very rare for me only to have bloods done..my right leg is really swollen I though it might be a clot form my hip..very scary..quickly sent for a scan ultrasound and no clot..so it might be my kidneys..so he will test my wee..not long had it done..
Quiet today think everyone's recovery form the heat I hope you all have it cooler... :splash:
Love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Kath I hope the cancer lady is ok in real life??? that was a weird dream alright :?
Barbara it is a bit cooler I really hope so for our Aidan. Not good at all with heart issues
We saw the usual 6 drops of rain today - am I in some sort of 'dry spot'???
I am so very relieved to hear you do NOT have a clot. Fantastic response from the GP there
Oh Joan I am pleased to hear that lady still swims even if her legs spout water! Thank you daisycat is very sweet
Off for my 'cool' shower as usual
Love
Toni xxx0 -
Kath, I'm a bit like you. I wake up feeling cold, pull the duvet over me then have to throw it off a couple of minutes later. How did it go at the chest clinic today?
Aiden, is it helping at all pretending it is winter with the heating on? I hope so. Your OH has been very busy. Hope he isn't aching too much now. Oh, horseflies? They give very nasty bites, don't they? Can I please borrow your tennis racket? I can't find mine.
Joan, who on earth asked your friend how far she could walk? How awful. Hope she gave them a piece of her mind.
Toni, thank goodness your phone is ok after it's dip in the pond. Do you not have a hoover? It's amazing how much we rely on machinery these days. Sounds as if you are keeping your bot busy.
Barbara, that was scary to think you might have had a clot. Hopefully they'll quickly find out what is wrong with your leg.
I went to the agricultural show on Saturday. It would have taken about 25 minutes to get there in a car but it took 2 hours on 3 busses. I enjoyed looking at all the flowers and crafts but not seeing the horses and cows and sheep all tethered on very short ropes out in the heat or the goats in pens that were only just big enough for 2 of them to lie down. And the chickens and ducks only able to stand or sit but not walk about in cages. Not sure I'll be going again although there were hundreds of people there.
I spent most of Sunday listening to all the recordings from my course and taking notes. I've finished all the assignments so only the exam to do now. Probably do it tomorrow.Christine0 -
Evening to one and to all. Finally, it has been a pleasant day, cooler, with a fresh breeze, deep joy.
Joan, the meal was wonderful, as it always is. I had the haddock again. Everything is home made wherever possible. Everyone enjoyed their food and company.
I cannot believe that the DWP ask such inane questions of people, have they no shame. I would have given them a mouth full. Disgusting.
They did ask me once, how far I could walk before I was in pain. I said I am in pain, before I start to walk, from then on it just gets worse. "oh", yes, oh............stupid person.
Toni, OH has been a tad aching, so has been duly medicated. Everything is looking very nice, just another half ton to move :?
That is not good, dropping phones into ponds. I am glad the new one I have is waterproof, well, waterproof for up to half an hour in 4 foot of water.
Good thing to keep the covers on over the pond though, puskins will investigate, as they do. I am feeling better in this temperature and we didn't need the AC on.
That was a strange dream Kath, In a snow storm as well, can we all pop along, I love snow, (not for going out in though). I know that when it is hot, people tend to have more vivid dreams. Sending hugs to help with the pain relief.
No Barbara, I cannot think cold, especially when I am glowing like a firefly. It has been better today though and no sign of a heatwave for the coming 10 days. I guess half the nation is catching up with having had a week of poor sleep and humid weather.
I am glad that they said you didn't have a DVT, let's hope they find out what it is asap and treat quickly.
Joan, your friend does very well, swimming with prosthetics on. An inspiration indeed. Hope you are as ok as possible.
You can borrow my zapper tennis racket Christine. With pleasure. I keep it by the bed at all times, just in case of spiders --- shudder
The poor animals, penned and getting hot. One reason I don't eat meat, I hate to think of them cooped up. Apart from that you seem to have enjoyed the show. Well done on your course work, hope the exam is ok and I am sure you will fly through.
It was coffee, scones and natter at the garden centre today. All very pleasant. Had a little wander, about 20 yards, lol. That was enough.
Groceries bought, then home.
The TV, which is very large, very thin, curved and was very expensive, has a shadow on the screen now - it has a 5 year warranty so they are coming to take it away for repair / replacement tomorrow. Only had it just over a year.
I rang next door, as I know their Son has about 5 tv's in his room. can we pleeeease borrow one of the many tv's for 5 days. No problems, of course we can.
Had some greek set yoghurt with carrot cake tonight, which was very very yummy. I will pop some in the cake tin. Of course it is calorie free one, with mascapone topping
I had better move, I am setting like concrete.
Everyone take lots of care, stay cool. Hopefully we will get some rain tomorrow. I think we are sharing the same dry spots Toni.

Christine yes my friend says what she thinks. I hope your test goes well. have a good day.
Aidan people who don't have pain do not know what its like to have pain. I asked a friend does she have arthritis she said yes in my little finger. I hope you have a good day.

Morning all ..cant make my mind up if I was warm or to cool last night..
Christine I hope you pass the exams you certainly deserve to , putting in all that work..has for the country show a few years ago I would have done the same..got there come what may..good for you getting the 3 buses...its awful how some people treat the animals..poor things there are suppose to be rspca at these events
Aiden how lovely of your neighbour to lend you a tv..hopefully yours will be sorted soon, we got a 5 years warranty I think of all things they are likely to go wrong..maybe you will get a new one.. I have the zapper bats one upstairs and one down..Greek yogurt and carrot cake sounds very nice...
Joan I have my kidney monitored but they can just change so will need more bloods I think..hope you and Sue are doing ok..and the little doggys..
Toni I think we have had everyone's rain..not much yesterday but had a few storms..nice to have the mowbot mowing regular then you always have a perfect lawn... wonder what the last owners would think..
This leg always swells in the day , but yesterday it went like concrete..they did an ultrasound of my groin and all was well..this why I started wearing trousers to hide it.. anyhow this morning its not too bad...
Does anyone get mixed up with the days I thought today was Sunday..and wondered why the traffic was so bad... :?
Right a cuppa i think..
not seen Mig around..hope she is well and Kaths test went to plan...

Chest clinic went well thank you. Lungs are stable, and my heart is excellent. Glad something is! While I was out, OH did all the washing and dried it, and did a lot of chopping down shrubs. He is really suffering today, but had to go a walk to the shops.
Joan, an infusion is like a drip. It takes about 20 minutes for the drug I mentioned. It is a bisphonate and you have it once a year.
I'm trying to download Windows 10. so leaving everything alone, while it gets on with it.
Love to everyone."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Aiden, yes the temperatures are much better now. Thanks for the offer of the tennis racket. Oh your poor spiders. I'd never kill mine. They eat the flies. Hope they get your tv sorted quickly. Just as well next door had 5 in his room. Whatever for? Mmmm, carrot cake with mascarpone. Yummy.
Joan I'm glad your friend spoke up. It annoys me when people only have arthritis in one little finger. They have no idea.
Barbara, I was hot and cold last night. Too hot with the duvet on and too cold with it off. I really should just have a sheet. Your leg does sound painful. Glad it's a bit better today. I'm not too bad with the days while I'm working but will have to check my diary each day while my boss is away as I'm doing different hours.
Kath, that's good to hear that your heart and lungs are fine. Your OH has been busy. Hope he feels better tomorrow. Windows 10 downloaded fine for me. Just took a long time.
I was planning on going in to work today but decided to leave it. My boss's eldest son is still there and I thought he might like the idea of having the house to himself for a couple of days. Well that's my excuse. :hammock: It rained a little so I stayed in and did some ironing. My neighbour gave me a fold up shopping trolley. Folds in to a large handbag. I managed to open it ok but it took me most of the afternoon trying to fold it back up again.Christine0 -
Morning everyone I am very happy as we have finally had rain!!!!
Yippee!!! The garden and my bot will be over the moon
Christine fresh rainwater into the pond. I haven't done any clearing in there for a day or so as I have been doing more inside.
I don't blame you not going into work if they aren't there and I bet the son prefers to be alone too - you'll be right.
I like the sound of the shopping trolley, once you've got the hang of folding it up
Kath did windows 10 download ok? I did mine and I am a proper technophobe
It's really good to know you have such a strong heart as you say at least one thing is working well
I hope your OH is recovered from his gardening exploits!!!
Barbara we have all got mixed up with the days here too!! It really ought to be the weekend by now methinks!!! Today we go to the docs me and Paul to meet him and sort out our meds.
So they think the swollen leg is the kidneys?? Do they give you anything for it? I really feel for you sounds most uncomfortable
Oh Joan it's hard to believe anyone could have the nerve to admit to arthritis only in their little finger
We are so happy here thank you it is a little piece of heaven
Aidan we have rain lots of it the small drizzle, but constant I am very happy the grass and pond are too I hope you had some as well?
I am glad your OH was duly medicated bless him. Did the remaining gravel get shifted and does it look fabulous?
Charley has that phone you have I will next time it's great to know you can drop it down the loo, (I've done that in the past!!), and it will be ok
I have no idea why anyone needs 5 tellies in one room :? Maybe he is a computer 'gamer'???
Right onwards and upwards for me0 -
Hello Barbara Christine Kathleen Toni and anyone else I missed.
Barbara i'm sorry you have that to cope with as well.
Christine when will you have the results of your test. have a good day.
Kathleen thank you I will ask the doctor about it. i'm pleased everything is going well for you.
Toni yes I think everyone has had a drop of rain now. I hope you all have a good day. how is Lucy doing I hope she is not in too much pain.

Joan thank you for asking - Lucy's hip and shoulder are very painful, but she's a good girl and manages with her painkillers. I hope you are ok today? Foot not too sore?0

Toni, yes I got Windows 10 sorted. As Christine said, it was slow.
Joan, the drug is called Zoledronate.

We had an early strt this morning bloods and more wee..then off to Dils to mind the girls for an hour..well OH played with Niamh, and her sister was out side with her friends...so called for fish and chips between us...really enjoyed them...

Afternoon....
I'm still boiling and struggling to sleep. Woke up with heart jumping all over the place but I convinced myself I was dreaming so went back to sleep. Hip is always hurting so can't get comfy, and tossing and turning all blinking night. Luckily it is cooler today.
It was a Ford B max in the end Aidan and OH loved it so will put in an order probably tomorrow as Dan will be in respite. I passed my test years ago but will probably never drive it myself.
I have managed to do some ironing (seated of course) and drunk a bottle of cider. I'm not supposed to drink  OH took Dan to Windsor castle.I was going to stay in bed but glad I got up as doing a bit of online shopping. I found a lovely rocking chair and everyone needs trousers!
You have an excellent heart Kath. That is good to know. Also good that your lungs are stable. Don't worry about the menu's as we are all off our food with the heat (except Aidan by the sound of things but M&S is very tempting).
Still waiting patiently for my rituximab infusion appointment. Hurry up!

Toni, rain at last. Did it fill the pond much? I'm sure you'll get there with the pond clearing, bit by bit. I tried out the shopping trolley today. It was ok till I got off the bus with my shopping then the stand bit at the front was scraping on the ground as I was pulling it. Guess I didn't fasten it properly. Hope you got your meds sorted out. You must be so proud of Lucy getting on with her life despite her pain.
Joan, I haven't got round to doing my exam yet. I've just had an email saying there's another class tomorrow to prepare for it. They never mentioned that before now.
Kath, hope you find windows 10 works well for you. Don't worry about the menus. I think most of us aren't up to eating much at the moment any way. You just take care of yourself.
Barbara, I haven't done any hours yet. Must get some done tomorrow. I don't think there will be too much mess. You've had a busy day but it's always good to spend time with the GC.
Elizabeth, you're having a terrible time sleeping too. Hope you get a better rest tonight now it's cooler. I like rocking chairs. Is it an all wood one or is some of it upholstered? Hope your appointment comes soon.
My son and his family are back from Spain. And .... relax. I was a bit worried when they couldn't all check in online and ended up with seats where the 3 year old was sitting on her own at the other end of the plane. Turns out, they had to sort it after they got on the plane. Fortunately a woman on her own was willing to move so the little one could sit with mum and dad. When they got off the plane over there, my son sent me a text to ask for the phone number of the apartment owner so he could ask where the key was. Turns out my son's wife had the address on her phone which she left at home so they didn't even know where they were going. Thank goodness I was able to get the number. Although things were more touristy and expensive than they were when my son lived out there, they still had a good holiday once they were there.Christine0 -
A late evening to one and all - oh joy that it is cooler, so much better today. Phew.
Kath, I am glad things went ok at the clinic and everything is stable, you must be pleased. It is always reassuring when things are where they are expected. Most kind of OH to sort the washing, drying and then cut down shrubs - no wonder he is aching now. Glad you sorted windows 10, there is a big update for it, coming out on the 2nd of August, so I read. They do take their time to load and reboot etc etc. But overall this seems to be the best version of windows so far.............
Barbara, yes, our neighbours are lovely, we are very close to the ones on our right and friendly with the ones on our left. We are the voice of reason and help each other all the time, with one thing and another. We are looking forward to getting our tv back, no news on the track and trace as to what is being done yet.
They did say that if it cannot be sorted, then you get vouchers for Curr*** for the same value. We will see.............................We have just about everything under long term warranty, with Dom and General, they are very good, as in new dryer not so long back. Which, incidentally is working absolutely perfectly, as it should.
Glad the ultrasound was ok on your groin, I assume they were checking the femoral artery and its flow.
Don't get me started on what day it is, lol. I said to OH, earlier this evening, "is it Saturday" - thinking it was for some reason. Bless, I blame my pills. :? You are definitely not alone in getting days wrong.
Fish and chips, mmmmmmmmm, did you have mushy peas with them too? Oh, with mint sauce, wonderful. Now I need some. Hope you enjoyed your visit with family.
I know, I should not kill spiders Christine - I can cope with the smaller ones, but the huge ones, with boots on and all those eyes...... OH has to deal with them. I never used to bother with them really, but, I was bullied a bit at school and they thought it a good idea to put a very large one down my back. Since then, I have had a phobia about them...........Horrid bullies.
Glad you had a day off and managed catch up with things at home. I did some ironing yesterday, shirts were breeding, I swear.
Maybe the folding trolley will have to have its own place, sounds like a job and a half to shrink it down.
Your family had a good holiday, with a little help from your good self, sorting numbers etc. Kind lady on the plane, it would have been a shock for a 3 year old to be sat away from mum and dad. You can relax now.......
Toni I am happy that you have had some rain, it makes the world of difference and smells so good too
Some of the remaining gravel has been moved around. We seem to have about half a ton spare and next doors is so deep, that they are going to rake it through onto our little bit that joins the gardens, to make it all lovely and even. We will have to sell it, lol. I am sure OH will spread it around and about.
You will love the phone we are talking about, which has a 7 in its title and edge as well....lol. It is THE best one I have had and boy have I had some smartphones.
5 tv's, yes, a big gamer, links up on the x box with friends from all over, puts headphones on and then shouts at the tv's when the game goes badly.
The mobot will be well away now that there has been some rain, the grass will grow like mad. Ours has shot up in two days, much to OH horror.
Lucy is being very strong and it sounds as if the pain relief helps as much as it can. Hugs
I hope you manage to sleep better, with the weather being a bit cooler Elizabeth. It is horrible, when you are roasted and in pain too, I can sympathise totally.
Our in laws have just changed to a B max and they are very happy with it. I can sit in it and it would be ok for very short journeys, but over all a bit small for me to stretch out in. Nice cars though, good choice. We are still looking about and deciding which ones to go look at in the coming month.
Ironing and Cider sounds great LOL. A little bit won't hurt. I don't drink at all, but sometimes an ice cold lager does sound tempting.
Hope your appointment comes through very soon.
Pain in a little finger - did you bite your lip Joan? I think I would have had to. Pain in one finger would be a welcome relief. But, we have to carry on don't we, keeping going is so important, whenever possible. So many people do not understand that if they cannot see something, then there is nothing wrong.
I hope you are ok and Sue and the doggies on their trips out. Take lots of care.
Well, I seem to have written a thesis, in between potterings. I had better move.
Hi to DD SW Mig and all
N Night, hope everyone sleep as well as possible.
XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning everyone
Sunshine here this morning and Christine no discernable improvement in water levels of pond....need some VERY long sleeved gloves for myself (or Tia ) to get to the bottom
I am pleased you didn't attempt the exam without the revision session - silly of them not to pre-warn you all :?
Glad all went well on the holiday in the end, as Aidan said with a little help from you Of course they'd have had the 3 year old with Mum if needs be and Dad on his own up front!! Good there was a nice lady though.
More practice required for the shopping trolley I suspect??? I bet it will be a Godsend once you have sussed it.
Aidan I think we need a little gravel! Just a wee bit that's all about 1/2 a ton would do it
this is on it's way :hammock:
The mention of fish and chips by Barbara tempted me too....but we did eat out yesterday as Paul and I had our initial appointments at the Drs to sort out our repeats. I had halloumi salad, but had a side order of chips
I suspected your neighbour's lad must be a gamer. My nephew is similar.
I hope your telly returns home soon.
Ours in the bedroom had taken to turning itself on in the small hours, Paul and I both blaming each other for rolling onto TV remote. So.....we left it on the floor to try it out and is still did it!! Googled it and chances are it's a faulty scart lead between it and the humax  So long as it's not a ghostie!!!! Wooooo!!
That is the very phone I'm after - I have it's older brother who fell in the pond and survived Essential these days really.
Elizabeth I am sure it was just the heat or a dream that caused your heart to go like that. As you know mine does too a lot, but I have mastered the art of - almost - ignoring it until it eases ((()))
I did some seated ironing too the other day, but didn't think to try a cider with it! Surely once in a while shouldn't do any of us too much harm. I bet you really enjoyed it.
New car will be lovely and your OH will probably be happy to be your chauffer
HURRY up with that rituximab whoever is holding it up!!!!!!!!!
Oh dear Barbara
I hope the calculator which went down the loo wasn't too expensive?
I think all gadgets ought to be water proof myself.
I bet Niamh loved playing with her Grandad. They are growing up far too fast aren't they?
Not heard anything yet about Lucy's hip or the funding for her shoulder sadly, but hopefully soon. She is like me has a little wallow every now and then, but mostly just gets on with it.
How is the swollen leg today??
Kath Good to hear windows 10 is up and running ok. I think it's great nothing complicated for me to use
As for the menus. I have to agree with the others - no-one is eating much just now anyway.
Shame none of us loose weight isn't it??
Have your OH's aches eased??
Joan I hope all is well with you Sue and the dogs.
Love
