Well done on finding the right car Aidan.

Joan, I don't know about having fun on my exerciser. My right hip and groin really hurt now, even though I limit myself to 10 minutes a time. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Anyone ever had a parcel delivered by DPD? I bought Emily a vintage style radio, and have spent the last half hour having fun tracking the parcel's journey to Emily's house on DPD's website. I'm easily pleased.

Afternoon Joan Barbara Christine Toni Kath Mig Elizabeth and all.

Is it me, or is it like humid and then some? Maybe me and my hot do's

Thank you Joan, we did have a good day really, with the tv coming back 99% new and then picking the car we liked. Hope you had a good week end too.

I am a bit like you Barbara, my concentration with regards reading, or writing has gone out of the window a long time ago. Hats of to Christine for persevering with her diploma.
It makes it worse when you cannot sit, stand, write, etc for any length of time. Plus with all the tablets, I don't know if I am on this earth or Fullers  :?
Oh yes, I was having a wail of a time with the built in 7 inch screen. The motability man was saying this is the top of the range version, so I said "we want one the same, without a doubt" OH was busy enjoying the driving while I was pressing buttons :)
They do a dual colour styling pack, like, deep blue and white, white and black etc. So we are tempted to really push the boat out and go for that as well.
hope your OH manages to get the paving sorted. I know they can be a pain to look after sometimes. We have gravel just about all round, easy to keep and wherever it sinks a little with the car parked, we can, well, not me, can cover it with another ton or so.

Enjoyed our coffee and scones at the garden centre, not been for a few days.
out for lunch tomorrow, In laws Anniversary, so we are taking them out for brunch, as I have a podiatry appointment in the afternoon.
Dermatology GP on Friday, Cardiologist next week, its one of those times, all appointments one after another.
Right, time to move. It is almost pill time and I am sure his nibs puskin will be awake soon for his T.
    Everyone take lots of care,

Aiden, I do try and pace myself when I'm in the garden so don't do nearly as much as I used to. I've just seen an advert from the local dogs' home asking for homes for some of their dogs. I daren't look as I don't think I'm ready for a full time dog. I'm glad you've found your car. It sounds just right. And you've got your tv back. Seems you have a busy time coming up with appointments.

Barbara, that sounds like a job and a half doing the drive. Wonder if your OH will get the 48 hours of dry weather. My concentration wasn't too good either but it has improved since I started studying again.

Kath, not sure if I've used DPD but I have tracked a parcel all the way to Australia. It was fun watching which airports etc it went to.

I'm looking after my youngest D tomorrow. Better remember to bring the toys downstairs. There are games for little ones at the big park and they also have a beach there for the summer so we'll go there as long as it doesn't rain.

    Morning everyone :)

I hope you are all well today.

The sun is out here so hoping Barbara's OH is getting his dry 48 hours

    How is Jake-puss??

I haven't been back to the old house, but really ought to!! I will be going that way today when I collect our prescriptions....

Aidan you did indeed have a good day with everything sorting out and it's even not soooo hot ATM as well :hammock: Unless, of course, you make the mistake of 'doing' something

When I had my car I had it in gunmetal grey with red 'bits' like the gear console etc. Ooh and I had a sunroof - can you??

    Happy anniversary to the in-laws.

Christine I keep watching the Dog Rescuers and bawling my eyes out. Their little faces :( A dog however is a no-no for us ATM, but of course a pusskin as Aidan will bear out is a far different prospect :)

I say that, but apparently if I'm not in when Daisycat come in she wanders around the bungalow (did you hear that bungalow :) ), calling for me :)

I hope you have a great time with the youngest GD at the 'beach' :)

Oh Kath be careful exercising!! It is good for you, but gently ((()))

I have also tracked parcels on line with DPD and another company can't remember who though :? I think it's a great idea very reassuring :)

    Nice radio!

Joan puppies are adorable, but responsible people remember they grow into dogs don't they? I am glad to hear you have a gardener for your garden - very wise.

Hope our missing friends are ok

    Love

Kath we have used DP* ..like Christine say I few are doing tracking now..but there's is always spot on..

Loving the car stories Aidan. I'm trying to guess the make of the car. I know Skoda do blue and white, read and black and the one my OH wanted lime green and black!

Our Ford will be silver with black wheels. I didn't want to pay too much upfront incase it had to go back within a short period of time as you won't get that money back

I didn't dare try the fiesta as knew I'd never get out again.

My ex had a side-car when I met him and yes I did sit in it but hated it! I felt like Olive from on the buses.

I'd love a dog too Christine but OH is not so keen so I'll have to wait patiently. I just send any spare money I can to the rescues instead.

Been online shopping! Ordered the rocking chair plus new bedroom furniture for Daniel so now going to have to get rid of the old stuff when they deliver. And I bought a selection of trousers for Lucy as she has outgrown most of her clothes. The pair we like the most well they cost £38!!!heart attack! I didn't look at the price until she'd worn them
Washed them very carefully on a cold wash today

Its me with the 6 hour infusion. I've got some good books to catch up on and my ipod to listen to so it will actually be a break for me. I'm not too worried now (only about getting to the loo in time) as I need to sort this pain out, I just do not like surprises. I think it stems from the days when I was tricked into going to the dentist so no longer trust anyone!

Never seen a dachshund puppy but bet they are cute.

Yes its difficult to settle until the teens come home safely Toni. I've had to give up worrying about my oldest 2 as they live away and do whatever they want.
Well sun and rain today. I managed to boss the OH into mowing and Jack into weeding and tidying up.I cut some brambles and pruned some of the climbing roses.

    Feeling tired.....

Toni, I only ever went back to an old house once when I found another key. I was gutted to find they had completely changed a few things - taken the beams down from the ceiling and the stone ceiling height fireplace had gone as well as repainting and all within a few weeks. I've past a couple of others but not been in. Do you know why it's called a bungalow? A builder was building a house and ran out of bricks. When he asked his boss what to do, he told him to bungalow roof on. Sorry.

Joan, my eyes aren't much better. I'm trying to get used to putting a warm wheat bag on them but keep forgetting. Thanks for asking.

Barbara, not more rain. At least your drive is clean ready if the dry weather comes. We had a little bit here but hardly worth mentioning. Sounds as if you're like me.The colour of the car is the most important thing. Hope you managed to get some jewellery made despite your sore thumbs.

Elizabeth, I noticed you do a lot for the greyhounds. Do you actually go and help look after them and walk them? I'd like to do that but the dog home is too far to walk and there's no public transport to get there. Isn't it scandalous the price of clothes, especially kids' clothes. I found it easier to sleep once my kids left home. At least you don't know what's happening. Glad you managed to get a few things done in the garden.

What a busy day I've had. My youngest GD and I played at home for a while then caught the bus to the big park. Played on the slide for a while then went to the beach which had been set up. Lots of sand, a big boat, lots of deck chairs and a giant deck chair which we sat on. Then in to the museum's music room where we sang a couple of songs, did some exercise and went on a bear hunt. Next we queued for 20 minutes to get something to eat but before we got to the front, needed to go for a wee. Stood in the queue for another 15 minutes then needed a wee again but this time I managed to order and ask them to hold on to it for a few minutes. Chips and slush for lunch. Some more time on the climbing frame and slide then bus home. I needed a lie down after all that. :hammock:

Hi Christine I noticed you were mentioning walking dogs. I know there is a charity called the Cinnamon trust where you can volunteer to walk other peoples dogs who need help. Anyway I know about them because they are based in Cornwall but they cover all of the UK. Here is there website in case you are interested. http://www.cinnamon.org.uk/volunteers/

    Morning everyone :)

Christine I saw the photos - it looked like a lovely day at the seaside ;) Your GD looks so sweet too :)

I don't think I will go back to the house no after reading that it sounded gutting. I used to have to drive past one years ago and my carefully planted box hedge had been ripped out :( So sad I was.

As for the bungalow joke  the oldest are the best ;)

Elizabeth you made me laugh there mentioning Olive from on the buses!!! You could never look like her ever!!

Silver with black wheels eh for your new car? Sounds nice :) I used to regularly get stuck in my fiesta years ago when I was in my 20's due to my back.

I much prefer it when the kids are away at University (etc) and you can't worry about them because you don't know they are out!!! Scary scary.

I hope Lucy adores her new trousers and looks really good in them at that price

Did you leave your prunings and cuttings for others to clean up?? I do that and let Paul tidy up after me!! He got wise and bought some tarp which he puts under whatever I am attacking!!!

Barbara I am glad to hear Jake-puss is doing ok now and he ought to be allowed into the loo with you - didn't you know??? :?

We had block paving at the house before last and I totally regretted it. I cannot be doing with all that palaver  A friend of mine had that cement version, (if you know what I mean?), she loved it. Se had a cobbled effect.

Have I unpacked all the boxes?? Have I heck ;)!!!!

    Ongoing project......

Joan how wise. Leave what you can't do so you can do what you want to do :)

Now you have pictures of cute dachs puppies don't you? :)

Right I hope all is well with Aidan as well as kath and anyone else awol..... :?

Oh it's late again, the days are merging into one and going as fast as ever.
Hi to one and all, Toni, Barbara, Elizabeth, Christine, Joan, Kath and all
Barbara, glad the party went well, yes, they are tiring, in fact I would be in a dark room with T bags on my eyes. Niamh being happy with her presents I bet it was wonderful to see her so settled with it. You have a rest now.
Is the block paving all ready now? Let's hope so, or OH will not be best pleased. We have pushed the boat out a bit more than we wanted to with the car. The two tone colour was yet another add on..........never mind, we both love it, so now it is ordered, yippee.

Christine you have been super busy - I think I would have flaked out, glad you had a good time, even if you needed a lie down, don't blame you, I think we all would.

It is guess the car make Elizabeth, no, not a ford, not a Skoda, it will be two tone, cream and black, looks very smart. Olive from On the Buses, wow, that takes me back, lol.
Hope the infusion goes ok. Medical surprises are a big no no. I quite agree with you on that, be it dental, hospital etc.
You have been busy on the internet, doing your ordering. I like Amaz** for a lot of things, better than Eb**. We have quite a few local buy and sell on Face***k, we have sold quite a range of things on there. Hope you have recovered from the price of the trousers.

No,I am not, (for a change), in a melting heap tonight, now there's a thing Toni. There has been a wonderful breeze over the past couple of days, so I can catch up with the drying and not have to worry about being boiled alive indoors. No, no sunroof on the car, not an option. The AC works a treat though and is dual zone, so I can be frozen and OH can be warm :)
I have looked at some of my old houses on Google Earth, saves going back to have a nosey.
We had a lovely lunch out with the in laws thank you. They forgot to add on all the deserts and coffee's, so that was a pleasant surprise. We went as quick as possible, lol, just in case they realised.

Kath I hope the rheumy gets back to you asap, enough waiting now. Don't worry about loosing your brain, I think mine went walkies a long time ago.

Right, I had better move. Hi to friends not here at present. Everyone take lots of care.

    Morning everyone

A cool bright breezy day here :)

Hi Joan I hope all is well with you Sue and the dogs? I was going to set up a watering system to water the veggies solar powered quite cheap runs off the water-butt. Tia is very useful for watering pots and baskets :)

Aidan your car sounds lovely :) Two zone Aircon  WOW!!! That sounds great!

No sunroof (ok girls now we can narrow the make down more  ) I had mine for the extra light, but it has a screen to put over if it's too hot.

Sounds like lunch out with the in-laws was a total bargain

Yes Barbara the printed paving! The only thing I worried about was water drainage? Proper block paving has spaces?? I keep thinking maybe we are causing the floods with constantly covering land with cement and tarmac (roads etc).

Well if Niamh loves that toy then that is what she must have. Bless her I love them at that age :D I know Vtec isn't cheap, but it's worth it.

    I have nearly unpacked....I promise ;)

Kath - keep that brain as best you can if necessary

    lock it in here

Did Emily like her new radio?

Hope your hear from Rheumy soon.

Morning all a lovely morning so far...
Toni think you are right about the floods..people just had a little path and gardens..the water system sounds good..at least when the sun is out the plants will not get dry...
Joan it was a brilliant jokes..I told it to my OH but had to repeat it... you enjoy your day...
Aiden the car is something to look forward to..and I am all in favour of that.. :D 2 tone and all the gizmos brilliant...but we will all need a ride in it..and scones.... not in the car of course :) yes never seen the little one so settled..glad you enjoyed lunch with your inlaws..now why doesn't that happen to us..we usually get overcharged...
Drive is ready for sanding and then next week we can seal it..it cost a fortune... out to the garden center for something nice to eat.. :D

Afternoon Toni, Barbara, Kath, Christine, Joan, Elizabeth, and all.

Well, summer is back with a vengeance it seems, at least for a day or two. Wall to wall sunshine and rather warm. :too-hot:

I like the sound of the watering system Toni, we keep meaning to get a water butt. At the moment we use next doors hosepipe to water our garden, which is very handy :) They don't mind. Our water comes from a borehole for 99% of the time and the water etc is paid in the land rates, so we never really have a shortage.

hope the mobot is happy away, doing its own thing. Has it got a formal name yet ? If not, we should have a naming ceremony.

Glad the drive is all ready for sanding Barbara. I did hear talking on the tv one time, saying that a lot of hard standing can cause flooding in areas that are prone to high water levels. We are up a hill, so if we flood, then Noah will have to come in his ark.
Of course we can all go out in the car. Not until November though. It will be ordered this week end, takes three months to build and import. I will be mad if it arrives early and of course you cannot change early with motability. I will throw all my teddies out of the pram. :splash:
Scones, well, we can have them on the picnic, but crumbs on the leather would be positively shocking :o Might be chilly, but we can still go on a picnic, without a doubt.
We do like our garden centres don't we, lol. We were at ours, with the in laws today, scones and croissants, coffee a plenty, all very refined. Oh and a sparkling water, I have to have one of those everywhere I go. Did I ever mention I am hooked on diet tonic water, I drink it by the gallon. Have done for as long as I can remember. Just thought I would mention.............lol

Hope you are ok Joan, Sue and the doggies too, enjoy your trips out and about.

Kath, keep that brain ticking, which I am sure you do. I did look on the MENSA site once, but thought no, I will get the lowest score north of Watford, so I closed the page :lol:

Hi to everyone else and take care one and all, time for pills, cats pill time too, she knows I am lurking with the syringe ( I have to crush it and mix it with water). Bless her.

Sharon, thank you for the link. I did check them a while back but there was nothing in my area. Just checked again and still nothing. I really should fill in a volunteer's form. A lady I know takes dogs in every now and again while their owners are on holiday. I was thinking of doing that maybe later when I retire.

Toni, thank you. Not long after I posted the photos, I got a pop-up message to say one of my FB friends (a woman I've known a lot of years but haven't really spoken to for a long time) had shared them with her friends. I couldn't understand why. They were my personal photos. Normally I set the privacy so only certain people can see them but I didn't this time. I quickly changed it though so no-one could see them. I think if I got any sort of paving, I'd get the cement cobble ones. I think it would be easier to look after and they look good. Yes, there is the problem of drainage. We have had more flooding round here because of the new houses being built on the farm land. Don't worry about unpacking. You've got forever to do it now.

Joan, I use my hose to water the garden. It takes quite a while and I usually end up soaked and have to change.

Kath, I think we all have days when our brains go awol. It shouldn't be too long till you hear from your rheumie now the test results are through.

Barbara, happy birthday to Niamh. I hope she had a lovely day. It is worth getting the toys they play with the most even if it's part of the same thing.

Aiden, you are definitely doing the right thing getting the car exactly how you want it. You must be feeling so much better now there's a breeze and it's a bit cooler. Isn't Google Earth good for having a nosy. I've looked at a few friends' and relatives' houses when they've moved a long way off. And walked up and down my daughter's area when she moved to Oz so I knew my way around a bit. Oh, just read you're hot again. Get the aircon on. I'm looking forward to a ride in your new car for a picnic. I'll bring a hand held vacuum just in case anyone sneaks a scone in the car.

I keep thinking it's Saturday as I've had the day off. Spent most of the day studying but did do a little bit of weeding so I wasn't sitting all day. Had a message from my sister to say our cousin is coming down from Glasgow for a couple of days. She should be arriving any minute so I'll pop round for a while. Probably see more of her tomorrow.

Morning all lovely and sunny but very warm last night..enough of the weather..
Aiden fingers crossed your car is ready earlier... is there no way you could have a word with them to hang fire..
Yes we do love our garden centers.. :D a coffee and cake ..they have a lake at the one we go to..and you can sit at the tables with umbrellas..but can we get there...once we did ..its the first place that people head for..now I am rambling again..
Christine ..you really are into this studying..good for you it will keep your brain young has they say.. :) the toy train is all Niamh plays with we cant believe they have found something to keep her still..must say its very good and interacts has it goes along..and it was reduced..we got her the airport.. you are not on your own with the days... :?
Joan you can only ask about the tap.it will save you carrying water..now if we lived nearer OH would fit you one.. :) hope you both have a good weekend...
We went to a barbi yesterday at a neighbours...they kindly supplied me with a chair that was a bit higher than the others...they had lights and music(not noisy) it was brilliant..Im not a bread eater so just had sausage and burgers without the bread..and some lovey coleslaw..they are in there 70s but do love to have there barbecues....
Hope everyone has a good weekend..xxxxxx
    Love

    Morning everyone :)

Ooh Barbara a barbecue eh? Lovely. In their 70's and still doing them - I hope that's me in future

We got some hammock chairs yesterday? Paul spent a while putting one together - the other was already constructed in the shop ;)

    The air was blue

Anyway I can quite see why you were always getting stuck in yours!!!

Bur very comfy once in. :hammock:

Joan I quite agree with Barbara I think the housing association will be perfectly happy for you to fit an outside tap. Thank you we are having a great weekend here. Mixture of outside and Olympic viewing :)

Christine - how odd of that lady to 'share' your photos??? :? what WAS that about?? Sensible to sort your settings out now.

Makes some sense that the drainage has something to do with all our building roads etc....

We used to have a load of fields with bogs etc and they got drained for a huge estate where I 'used' to live

Christine - my sister is coming down next weekend from Dundee :) All these Scottish visitors!!

I can almost 'see' into the pond now!!!

But this morning it's off to the village clear up so have been here a month :)

    It's flown by!!!

I had the watering system at my old house Aidan - it really worked. It was solar powered and really quite cheap.

This garden has a far better set up though and the veggie plot is nearer the water butt so :) As and when I get it I will show you :)

The intention is for all the prospective Bot names to go in a hat.

Then I will choose one. I think it's male, but one of Lucy's friends thinks it's a girl and should be called Lorna!!!

Yes please I will come along for the ride - and will keep my scones until we get out of the car I promise :)

Have we guessed the make yet??? If not can you give us a clue??

    Thanks

Have a good day everyone and keep cool

    Love

    Toni xxx
