Im angry, upset and close to tears sometimes, people with an asian accent keep phoning up early in the morning late at night any time of the day really telling us we have a problem with our computer no matter what we say or do they still keep phoning or I should say HE keeps phoning ,we have tried all sorts of things I have now taken the step of buying two whistles to keep by the phone and will give him a blast when he next calls.Mig

Look up Telephone Preference Service on the internet...read up their information and register with them...I registered with them some while ago, perhaps 4 years ago, I very rarely get nuisance/sales calls now...the odd one or two every now and again slip through. You can do the same regarding junk mail, not too sure what that is called, but, it's a similar system. Hope it helps and good luck.

Oh Mig this is awful..like Mod John says you could register with TPS..if you are with Tal*tal* you can block nums thats if there is one..if you get out of area I just wouldn't pick it up.if you have the internet and phone.you need to get on to your server and ask what they can do..hope you get it sorted..x

Mig do you have the phone with caller id..the num would come up unless they stop it doing so..like I said if you have the phone linked to your internet maybe the company ..your server could help...or change your num and just give it to certain people..its rotten when they can get away with worrying people like this x

Toni, I've just watched another Dog Rescuers. As you say, most of them recover well and find good homes. How lovely seeing your sister but a shame you didn't see her again before she left. I've not been watching the Olympics but it good to see the medals mounting up and to hear how 'local' people have done. I wouldn't mind having a go on a virtual reality set up. Not anything scary though.

Barbara, I'm the same with the freecycle site, a bit wary of who would come to my house and wary of going to someone else's house. Isn't it strange how people suddenly decide to get married after quite a few years. As long as they are happy. Good girl for phoning the hospital. Hope it's not long till the appointment.

Kath, thanks for explaining what osteopenia is. I wonder if your mum thought ballet would be good for your bone strength. Did you enjoy it? Glad they came out and cleared the drains. Ours have often been clogged up with wipes. Hope it all goes well next week with your appointment and the transport.

Aiden, that's good that your mum is feeling better and will soon be home. 11 people visiting at once? She must have been pleased but tired. Hope your joints will feel better once you're not doing so much visiting.

Joan, I hope you are enjoying watching the Olympics and have a good week.

Mig, it's disgusting that these people phone up like that, especially as you've already said you are not interested. Don't blame you using the whistle. Can you get the number by dialling 1471 straight after they've phoned? Or ring your phone provider and ask them to help.

My DIL's parents were supposed to be taking the GC to Blackpool for a few days but 100 year old great granddad isn't too well and is in hospital so my son and his wife have taken the kids instead. Only thing is, the hotel said there wasn't enough room for the little one, who wasn't originally going so she's stayed with grandma and is coming to me on Wednesday as usual. Everyone feels guilty about that but she's only 3 so doesn't really understand what's happening and she's been to the sea today anyway.

Morning all very warm already :sunny:
Oh no Joan...what a blinking shame..its so easy to fall and then you wonder how it happened..and it shakes you up..I am so glad the carers were there for you at least..you rest that foot..if it carry's on swelling or very painful you go back like they say...but it will heal on its own..((())) x
Berty you did make me laugh...when its warm you do smell the wee and other stuff of cats and dogs..we have noticed our garden smelling because of the cats form next door..
Christine what a shame for the little one but she will have her share to come..I am sure you will keep her entertained... :bouncing-ball: now why didn't I think of 1471 :? ..a question I have spotted a single metal bed frame on FC..do I just send a message to say I am interested in it..I feel awful getting something for nothing..not used to it..
Today my niece is coming round with her son my godson...he is so lovely and polite..think I have said before... she was 17 when she had him..and still with his dad ..others said they would give them a few months..so I am very proud of them :D
Hope everyone has a good day and either stays cool or warm...whatever you like...xxxxxxxx

Joan, my new Osteoporosis drug was delivered, Risedronate. Its similar to Alendronic but a lower dose. I took the first one this morning. I see the Rheumy nurse next Tuesday, so hopefully will find out what she will put me on for RA. I'm so sorry to hear about your foot. :(:o

Christine, I did enjoy ballet but wasn't very good at it. Our dance class entered contests and performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London. I was only 3. I gave it up after a couple of years and took up Modern Ballroom dancing. I did that until I was 16 and won several medals and statuettes.

mig, that's the last thing you want . I hope you get it stopped double quick.

May, it has been a nice day here too. Can you imagine a dog balanced on the toilet? Would be very helpful though.

Joan, I'm sure your dogs will soon be trained to use the toilet. There are some bones they don't do anything with. You foot must be really painful. The bad one too. Hope it mends soon.

Barbara, yes just send them a message. On ours, you have to sign up first then you can click either to send an email or message through the site. If you don't ask for it, someone else will so why not you. Your niece has done well. It's good to see the young ones putting the effort in with relationships and with their babies.

Kath, how wonderful winning medals for your dancing. I would have liked to learn ballroom dancing but no-one wanted to come with me and I didn't want to go on my own. I used to love watching it on tv when I was a teenager.

I only wanted a few bits from T*sco today but ended up with a shopping trolley full. I had a bit of a problem with my laptop this evening. It wouldn't open Google Chrome. After shutting down and booting up a few times, all seems well again. Not sure what to do with my GD tomorrow. She's been to the beach 2 days running so maybe just the park.

Morning everyone another lovely day - hope it doesn't get tooooo hot :hammock:

Joan I am so sorry about your poor foot - not what you need is it? Sending healing ((())) 70ml of anything is a lot :(

    Christine
I have a feeling your wee GD will want the beach again!!! I know mine would have at her age :)

I always seem to go shopping for 3 items and come back with 33...it all gets used though :?

Another great day. Might do more on the pond as I now have some long sleeved gloves with elastic at the top - Tia!! Where are you girl??

You would enjoy the virtual reality, but it unsettles me a little I could imagine people who are vulnerable could get addicted???

Best of luck with new bone meds Kath do you still have to sit upright for an hour after?

So the ballet didn't work out but probably gave you the bug to be a really good ballroom dancer then ? :D

Barbara did you brave getting the bed? I hope you did because people who put things on there want someone to have it. It's out of their way and better for the environment too :)

I am so pleased that your niece did so well in her relationship :) My parents met and married in 4 weeks be special licence and did 43 years before we lost my Dad. Other people ought to keep their opinions to themselves

May - I hope your doggie's wee isn't so strong today. As for the other stuff they produce  say no more!! I have seen videos of cats using the loo, but I know Lucy would be horrified to use ours after Daisycat!!!

No Aidan? I expect hospital visiting again - hope Mum (IL) is ok.

Elizabeth - probably watched gymnastics yesterday and of course the kids are off school.

Better get on today lots to do!

    Love

Morning all ..very warm last night...
Christine thanks for the advice I have signed up to the 2 towns..its strange how scary it is sending a message to someone I dont know..I know what you mean going for a few things and coming out with loads..OH gets on at me but I am sure we need it :? ..I am sure whatever you do with your GD she will love it :D
Toni the long gloves are brilliant I use to hate getting all the algae and weeds over me..this weather will cause more algae...so put something organic in there..bigger pond are much easier than little ones would you believe..you could extend it in time and have little ducking on there... :D
Joan i hope that foot is not to painful..and hopefully the new meds will do the trick...fingers crossed for you..x
Kath fingers crossed for you to..that the new meds work..good luck next Tuesday...
had a lovey day with my niece and her son he is so funny and brought his hover board for me to have a go..... and no I didnt...

Joan, yes thanks. I did have a good day. Hope you did too and your foot isn't too painful.

Toni, we didn't go to the beach. I asked where my GD would like to go - the park with the beach or a different park. She said the beach park then started to cry and said she's rather stay at mine and play with the toys. I think maybe she was tired from 2 days out in a row. We did have half an hour at the little park round the corner. We still had fun though. Did you find Tia to help with the pond or was she hiding?

Barbara, I hope you do get the bed. You might spot other things now. I was just telling Toni that my GD got upset when I suggested we go out but she'd been out for 2 days with grandma and grumpy and I think she needed a rest. We still had fun playing surgeons on the teddies with the tools - hammer. screwdriver and drill.  I'm glad you didn't try the hover board. If you're anything like me, you'd end up sitting on the ground.

I keep thinking it's the weekend with not working today. After the little one went home, I did a bit of dead heading in the garden. The little girl next door was in the hot tub and started squirting water over the fence. There was quite a bit all over the patio and it smelled more like bleach. Thank goodness I wasn't in that spot or I'd have been soaked in it. I shouted over asking her to stop and her dad told her to. I had to come inside. The bleach smell was almost making me sick. I don't know how they're ok with it. The woman is known for using lots of bleach in the house and even cleans the outside walls with it. :?

Bleaches the outside walls Christine??That is mad! Completely mad

I hope she isn't doing the child harm using so much :?

Tia was indeed hiding yesterday - and today she's at a dog rescue collecting data for her dissertation. So my gloves are still unused. I planted another 10 daffodil bulbs at the back :)

I bet your GD is a little tired and possibly wants her Mum and Dad by now bless her. Good to hear all toys are suitable operated upon

Barbara I think you are right about the pond, though any sweet little ducklings may get chomped thanks to Daisycat

Lucy and Charley's cousin has a hover board - I have not had a go on it either!!

Your niece has always sounded lovely to me I am glad you had some nice visitors :)

I hope all our missing friends were just taking advantage of the hot weather yesterday....or was something going on?? Thinking of Aidan's Mum(IL I know but she is his Mum).

    Anyway I have news!!!!!

Hip op date for Lucy is 14th September. I hope they don't need another pre-op :?

OH OH! My GP made a boo boo. My consultant had written to tell her I would be given a once yearly infusion for Osteoporosis. GP has given me weekly tablets. I had a call from Rheumy nurse who says we'll see how I go with it for a few weeks. If it doesn't suit me, they will change to yearly. It sounds as though I can have Rituximab. Feeling a little anxious now. :?

Toni, so glad you have a date for Lucy's surgery. Quite a few Osteoporosis drugs are 70mg. You take then once a week only. Yes you do have to stay upright for half hour to an hour. To make sure they dissolve thoroughly. Which is why I really wanted the infusion. They bypass the stomach and gullet.

Haha me a good dancer. I used to think I was. Makes you wonder why I got Osteoporosis then? :o

Glued to the TV Toni but keep falling asleep by the time the athletics come on so have to watch catch up.

A level results day. Jack has got a place at the the local uni but I'm so unsure about him as he doesn't work hard and has communication difficulties. Uni feels a step to far.

Mig the best advice I saw was to get an answerphone and then you can ignore the calls you don't want and answer the ones you do. I suppose this doesn't stop you getting disturbed by frequent late calls though. Unfortunately TPS don't prevent the calls from abroad. 1471 is good for copying down the number in your own time but they sometimes use several numbers per company. The Whistle however will work but they might still keep ringing to annoy you!

Joan I am sorry to read you have broken your foot but glad Sue's carers were there at the time. My infusions are every 6 months I think. I have to have two in the first month though so I'm due back.

Naughty GP giving you pills by mistake Kath. Sounds like a infusion would be better than pills. Try not to feel nervous about rituximab, it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Mind you it doesn't seem to be working as I'm hobbling with my hip and my elbow is in terrible pain.

Ankle seems much better though. Not had that awful pain since rituximab.

I'm glad you get the free bed Barbara. Some people need the space and would have to take it to the dump otherwise (btw our rubbish dump happily takes old mattresses which can be broken down and all parts recycled). If its metal frame and you can hoover under it then a spider can't climb up the leg :D

Might it be chlorine in the water Christine? It would damage any flowers if it landed on them. I'd be cross too. When OH cleans the shower for me he uses that cillit bang stuff which makes me wheeze as it is so strong. He also sprays it around without removing the shampoo bottles and has marked my brown towels and they are now all covered in pink spots where the bleach has taken away the colour.

I am still boiling hot at night. It really must be my age. I was even worse after the rituximab infusion. They thought the temperature stick was wrong and were going to re do it but never did. It was probably correct as I'm burning up all the time and I did try and tell them.

Toni your Daughter is at a dog rescue!!!!! Lucky her. Lucy has her op date (nervous for her) and not too long to wait either. She will probably need a pre op won't she?
Your parents met and married in 4 weeks-Wow! Love at first sight. I'm still waiting and its been 19 years now...I am angry about it as some of you know

My Charlotte did ballet. She did very well but gave it up. I have kept her ballet leotards, tutu and cardigans and her ballet shoes. i have some amazing leotards too, quite a collection. I was hoping my Lucy would take it up but she wasn't keen.

Got to see the consultant with Lucy. she was so lovely and kind. Still waiting for a psychology appointment (referred in April). Being away from school has been so nice but she will have to face going back again soon.

Aidan hope you've managed to complete those forms and that Mum is now home and feeling better.

May- those naughty dogs using your gravel. Hope you are well and not too hot. I love the sunshine but can't always find time to get out there at the moment.

Toni, you've done well planting the bulbs. I'd like some more but don't think I'd get round to planting them. Lucy's op on the 14th. Not too much longer. Is she nervous now? I wonder if you're more nervous than she is.

Joan, I think time goes quickly all the time. A bit scary if I think about it.

Barbara, sorry you had a bad night last night. Hope tonight is better for you. Now I have images of Toni's garden with Daisycat, ducks and mowbot all chasing each other up and down the garden. :swim-shark: Well done on getting the bed. It'll definitely come in handy.

Kath, that wasn't a good mistake to make. I hope the tablets do work for you or they let you have the infusion. You must have been a good dancer to get the medals. Yes, you would have thought it would help strengthen your bones.

Elizabeth, congratulations to Jack on his A levels. I hope it works out for him. It will be chlorine in the hot tub water. I was concerned for both myself and my clothes and for my plants when it was being sprayed over. The woman does use a lot of bleach for cleaning. A few people who knew her before she moved here told me about it and I've seen and smelled when she's been scrubbing outside with it. I hope Lucy doesn't have to wait too long for her psychology appointment so she can get back to school.

Mig, I bet you did enjoy using the whistle. I hope it works for you.

My boss and his family are back from their holiday. They were away a few extra days as my boss's wife's mum died a few days before they went on holiday so they went to the funeral before they came home. There wasn't much to do as I'd already done it while they were away. Fortunately they had dome quite a bit of washing so I spent most of my time ironing and folding clothes and a bit of time flicking a duster about so I looked busy.

Sorry to have been awol, but I wanted to let you know quickly.

Lucy was going to the V festival today with her friend camping for the weekend, but I got a call to say she had had a seizure and was in the only hospital she hadn't yet been in in the area!!

She is ok here at home in bed now and fast asleep.

Hopefully tomorrow she will be well enough to go during the day. Paul and I will take them and bring them back both days.

I am so upset for her it's so very very unfair. Her beautiful sparkly wellies are discarded by the door :(

All she wants is to do what everyone else can :( No driving lessons either now :(

Love to you all and I promise to read back tomorrow - today I cry instead sorry for the self-pity
