Hi Mig, just seen you. Have a lovely lunch with your friend tomorrow, whereabout are you going in Town? Glad the nuisance calls have eased off. We have a call blocker, they are wonderful, you can block up to 1000 numbers, just press a button when you answer and dont want them to call again.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0

and how cute is shell, he is adorable. Looks very happy and content with his mixed leaf salad.
Thank you for putting a picture of him in the cafe.
Don't mention the humidity, I have gone from ok, to boiled, in about two hours. Fans on all over the place. Bit late to fire up the AC unit, but it will be on tomorrow, hot, hot, hot. At the moment, it is 95% humidity, which is worse than Florida. Ok, rant over. I will go and stand by the back door and melt some more.
I hope Mum can come as well, we will see, the nurse side of me says no, it will be too much, I know what her complaints of painful indigestion are, but it is not my place to say. The Drs are aware and treating symptoms as well as possible. Bless
Take care

Thanks Joan the forecast is for sun, hope you and Sue are well.
Aiden we are going to Bistro Pierre they have special offer on for lunch.
Not one call since the whistle, not heard of that type of blocker will have a look at them Aiden.
If I had a roman road under me i would be digging to find it and have a look Barbara. Mig0 -
Thank you Joan, we did have a pleasant time at the garden centre and yes, there were mountains of scones
I think it was bordering on being too much for Mum, but she was determined to go and took her time with her Latte and scone.
We brought Mum and Dad straight back, then Dad went shopping and we went and did a list of things, well, I sat in car while OH did the list, lol. No, tell a fib, I pootled into Sainsb----.
Hope the warm weather is helping.
I don't know that Bistro Mig, mind, I am sure Nottm has changed so much now. I used to know it very well. Shopping in Vic Centre and Broadmarsh, then getting the bus home to Gotham. The call blockers are really good, worth looking up and getting one. Shop around though, I think ours was about £15 or so.
Well, I hope you are not melting Barbara, who turned the heating on so high !!! :sunny: :sunny: :too-hot:
We have the AC on, no messing about, full blast all the way. I was leaking coffee by the time we got home. Tea is fine, but coffee and I am like a collander.
Hope everyone else is as ok as possible. I will sit quietly and keep as chilled as possible.
OH has gone out into the garden, there are way too many wasps about at this time of year and they dive bomb me as soon as they see me.
Take lots of care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Just a quick one. Rheumy nurse told me to stop the Risendrate, the pain in my right thigh and knee started again. I'm to have zolendronic Acid infusion once a year probably next week. Also 7.5 mg (three tablets a week of Methtrexate tablets + 1 folic acid once a day. Also Rituximab twice every 6 months. Here's hoping it's the correct combination to get me back walking. So basically I'm back on chemotherapy again, :splash: :too-hot:

May, it sounds wonderful where you live. I'm sure everyone will enjoy seeing your pictures.
Barbara, wouldn't it be good to swing and slide at the park. I wouldn't dare attempt it now. Oh I wonder if it is a Roman building. Hope they don't build over it. I might have told you a while back that the local private school wanted to put their playing fields on the Heritage land with a bridge there over the river from the school and sell their playing fields off to build houses. It was all overturned. They have now asked just for the bridge so the kids can go to walk on the Heritage land. We all know they will then ask for the playing fields then the houses. Is that what the tortoise is called - Shell? How cute. Can they do anything about your nerves? Happy anniversary. Is it today?
Kath, that sounds like a lot of medication. I really hope it helps you with your walking.
Mig, I'm pretty sure the whistle has done the trick. Hope you enjoyed your time with your friend. Do you live in Nottingham? I have a friend there. It sounds beautiful.
Aiden, that's good to hear mum managed to the garden centre and enjoyed her latte and scone. Hope you're catching up with some sleep. They have already passed plans for 2 thousand houses around our town and plans are still going in. We only have one road in and out of the main town so we are already gridlocked and there are no plans for extra doctors or school places. Some plans were turned down but granted at appeal because the government have tied the council's hands and are forcing them to allow building no matter what. Maybe if we don't mention out joints, they'll go away. If only. How shocking throwing all those cakes out. Tell them to bring them here. We know what to do with them.
It was a bit chilly first thing but then got too hot this afternoon. I did manage to cut down my buddleia. Although it looked good this year, it was way too big. My daughter was telling me her husband is worried because his company are downsizing and he's worried he'll be made redundant. If he doesn't get another job, they'll only have 90 days to sell the house and leave Australia.Christine0 -
Yes, I know where that is Mig. It must be over 20 years since I was in Nottingham. Gosh, time flies.
I thought you might be a tad warm Barbara....More physio I see, let's hope they help. (they gave up on me in about 2008  )
Oh and a meal too, happy anniversary, :bouncing-ball:
35 in the garden, that's silly temperatures, we are not used to it. Should we arrange a trip to Iceland
I used to live in and around Nottingham, where Mig lives. I did my training at the Queens Medical Centre - I remember it being built. It is just vast. They used to add on at least 10 minutes to your break, to get to the staff dining rooms. Walking miles and miles in a day.
The AC in still on, we are enjoying the cool air in the lounge, some of it is heading to the bedrooms, certainly better in than out.
Sounds like the same plans as we have, the Govt are giving incentives for "affordable housing" and of course the developers offer a % of houses that are so called affordable, the rest are 4 and 5 bedrooms, hardly starter homes.
At the moment, our little villages are about a mile or so from town, hoping that the fields, stay as fields.
I will make sure that all surplus cakes end up in the cafe fridge. We ate the rest of the chocolate cake tonight. Naughty, but very nice.
Let's hope they don't make your Son in Law redundant, that is a worry for you all. We will all send positive vibes across the globe
Hope everyone else is ok and taking care. I had better move, the cats are all coming to life now that it has gone midnight. Typical.

Hello to mig, Joan Barbara, Christine and Aidan and Kath sorry to have been AWOL
Sounds like we're all struggling with the heat
I am too.
We have an aircon in Lucy's room, but once it's cooled hers I can open her door and it can cope with all 3 bedrooms
I honestly recommend it even if it will probably only have been used maybe 8-10 times this year.
Lucy was feeling like she might have a seizure so super-cool is how we like her room.
Not good news for Christine
Naughty Daisycat caught a baby rabbit (well a year old maybe??) yesterday I was panicking didn't know what to do so I chucked a watering can of water at her and she did drop him. Sadly he died despite our best efforts and Tia and I had to bury him
Ah well
Such is life
Love to you all
a very hot Toni xxx0 -
I really shouldn't leave it so long between cafe visits! So much news to catch up on and a Tortoise and wellies pic too.
So sorry about Lucy Toni. I'm glad she made it in the end but this will impact on her driving lessons? And the rabbit too...how sad. I know Daisy cat was bringing you a present and adores you but it is horrible to witness. I had the same with a frog once. Don't you love the way the cats eyes sparkle at you when they bring a gift  .
I'm glad Mum is better Aidan and that the ESA forms are signed, sealed and delivered. It really can make you unwell doing those forms.
I'm sweltering, especially at night but can sit in the sun for hours because a tan hides all the bad bits on me.
I love archeology so I hope they find some lovely treasures Barbara.
Christine hoping that they don't have to leave Australia after all that upheaval to get there, not to mention Mango will have to go into quarantine yet again. Has the boss gone to Italy, think you said his wife was Italian. Hoping they aren't caught up in the earthquake.
Hope the foot is better Joan and Berty is okay. Its good to hear that the whistle worked Mig.
Kath good luck with the rituximab. My 2nd dose is on Friday. Its not working yet so this might give it a boost.
Three cheers...hip hip hooray!
I'm being let out of my cage tonight. Dan is at respite and I'm going to a wedding. Tried to get my hair done beforehand (greyish roots and all that) but couldn't manage to get an appointment. Technically I've not had an invite but OH was asked to drive the wedding car (the Rolls Royce) and although he heard through the grape vine that he is no longer needed we are still going as it is a relative and everybody else is going (I think I've said before that communication in his family is pretty non existent).
Take care all

Afternoon Mig Toni Barbara Kath Christine May Elizabeth Joan and all our cafe friends.
I was still up at that time Mig, mind you, that is normal for me. I am terrible to get to go to bed at night. If it were not for the sleeping pills I would stay up, end of. Crazy, but that's me
Hope you managed to get some rest eventually.
Barbara, you were awake too, we should have had a party. Ok, three days in Iceland is a plan.
Hopefully it is going to cool off from tomorrow, it is not as bad as yesterday, but we have the AC on again. Those Vimto Jubbly's sound very nice indeed.
Did Oh manage to find anything out about the building plans? We drove past the area that they are going to develop next, lovely hedgerows and fields, such a shame.
Toni, hope you can share some of the cool air, and hugs to Lucy, sorry your not feeling well Lucy, keep as cool and chilled as possible. I will second the fact that the chillers are worth their weight in gold at times like this.
A Wabbit, no, oh bless. Poor little thing. Has puskins dried out now and thrown her teddies out of the pram, lol. They are naughty, I remember one cat racing through our garden with rabbit in mouth. She is a hunter and no denying.
Joan I trust the warm weather is helpful for your pains.
We have been out for lunch, to our fav place, the one with all the cakes. (no, I was good, I drooled, but didn't have one). It was lovely, not been for a few weeks with mum being ill. She insisted we had a day off today and did our own thing. We are always at the end of a phone and not far away.
From lunch, to Tes---, whizzed round in the buggy, just a few bits, that came to over £60, glad I was sat down. Then home and now it is T and biscuits time, before a nap. Yesterday was so hot for napping. Two of the three cats want to cuddle when you lay down, just to make you even hotter, :too-hot: Mother, the eldest has her own bed on the dressing table and no one is allowed on that.
Better move, everyone take care,
XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Aiden, my son lives in a village not far from me. There are about 300 houses and plans went in for 175 houses in one of the fields next to it. Our MP has asked for it to be called in. Not sure that'll stop them though. I think when they say affordable houses, we think of cheap houses. They think affordable 4 or 5 bedroom executive houses for rich people. :? Thank you for the positive vibes. My daughter and her husband won't find out for certain till Xmas. Glad you got out for lunch and to relax a bit.
Mig, hope you managed to get some sleep last night.
Joan, it's my daughter's husband who might lose his job. They won't find out till Xmas though. Hope you and Sue are well.
Barbara, another one not sleeping. Hope you stayed in bed till late. My daughter was saying they won't find out about her husband's job till Xmas. The worst that can happen is they'll have to come back here and start again. Not good but not the end of the world. You're hooked on jubblies. I'm hooked on Fab ice lollies. Especially as they are half price in T*sco.
Toni, it's good that you can get the aircon to cool all the bedrooms. Does the heat bring on Lucy's seizures? I'm sure she'll feel better being cool. Aw, poor baby rabbit but, like you say, that's life. Daisycat is just doing what comes naturally.
Elizabeth, I'm not sure Mango would survive another long haul trip so really hope it doesn't come to that. My boss's mum is Italian. I phoned her this afternoon. Her sister is over here visiting at the moment. She lives closer to the north of Italy but said they felt the building shaking even there so she's worried about going home in a few days. My boss's sister is married to an Italian. They live over here but his family live in the south and have also felt the tremors. They're all praying that there aren't any more. Thanks for asking. You're at a wedding tonight. Hope you have a fantastic time. It'll do you good. Hope it goes well on Friday and starts to take affect.
I was flagging by the time I got home from work with this heat. After an ice lolly, i got a second wind and went out and pulled up most of the loosetrife from the garden. That's another job crossed off. Then feet up for the evening.Christine0 -

Morning everyone
I am off to a funeral in a bit. The husband of the lady who helped us when Lucy was in hospital so long.
Elizabeth yes you're right driving will be back on hold I think she ought to wait and learn you know in a few years time when all is settled she has enough to worry about.
I do hope you enjoyed the wedding You can buy a palette of colour for roots. There may be other makes but the one I have is called colour me wow. It's especially good if a poorly neck or similar prevents you from going to hairdresser.
Joan you and Sue are very sensible to get out every day it's good for us to mix. you are right Daisycat is just doing her job.
Christine it's not good o find out bad news at Christmas though is it?
Affordable houses should be 3 bed semis!!
I don't think there is evidence that heat brings seizures on, but two of her worst have been when it's been really hot, she overheats easily too so I won't take risks.
I can't believe you managed a little gardening!! I have been planting about 6-10 bulbs a day
Aidan they built a load of houses on the skelly behind my old house (before last) and I am very unimpressed we all signed a petition
Lucy will be fine I'm sure. She's a tough one! Lots of appointments for her ahead though.
I know a bunny-wabbit  Very sad Lucy named him Ernie. Daisycat has forgiven me too
Of course you are always available to Mum (IL) via the hone so she's right a day off was a good thing you had no cake??!!
Are you well??
Barbara I hope all is well and you slept better last night. I love the wee tortoise!! Shell. Is adorable
Mig I also hope you slept
Right better go put something black on

Morning all..very humid here and no sun
Joan you must try the vimto jubblys they are so soft when frozen and full of flavour..mind you I like vimto..oops better stop advertising I dont have share in it honest..glad you get out everyday Joan..
Aiden..your MIL sounds so lovely telling you to have some time on your own..like you say there is the phone if needed..we could have had a party..saying that I dont log in when in bed or that would be it..you did well not having a cake I have never managed it yet at the garden center..no news on the ruins yet..
Christine I agree the house here are not cheap for the North..its just a ploy to let them build..you are right its not the end of the world for your daughter to have to come back but would be such a shame..there one thing at least they did it..no wonder you was slowing down at work it was so hot..now I will go and look for these ice lollys
Elizabeth you sound so much brighter than you have for a while..I think with the respite off your mind and off to a wedding I hope you had a lovely evening..even if you are gatecrashing ...
Toni one of the cats next door is a good hunter..it does upset us us but like you say that is life and its what they do..so glad you have the AC.for Lucy ..worth ever penny can you PM me the details..
Well no news on the remains has yet..OH as been down but no one around..but we will keep trying..it is were the old farm was that they knocked down many years ago..but they look like small rooms with some sort of chimney...we cant get to near it
We have the big food and drinks fair starting tomorrow..not sure if we will get there is is so busy James mart*n ..Nardi* from the bake off..and John Tor*de are there..most tickets sold out..it is spread across many streets and only around 3 miles away ..if you want to look it up its in Bolton..
Off for a tea now coffee make me even hotter...always has done
Love to everyone xxxxx
Just missed you Toni yes I slept well thankyou..Love

Afternoon Toni Barbara Christine Joan Elizabeth Kath Mig May and all
I must have missed your post by seconds Christine. I think it is a nationwide building boom at the moment. We drove past one new development earlier, on the way to the tip, they looked quite nice actually, but I wouldn't want to live near the tip to be honest.
I know there have been many petitions against new houses, but they do not seem to get anywhere. It puts such a strain on already stretched public services.
The family you work for must be so worried after the dreadfull earthquake in Italy, with all the tremors afterwards as well.
Hope you enjoyed your feet up time, after the heat and then working in the garden. Steady away.
Yes, MIL is lovely Joan and knows we do so much for them. There is a wider family, but they all live long distances away. They come as often as is possible.
Hope you are ok and out and about with Sue and the doggies.
Hope you had a good time at the wedding Elizabeth. I have heard of those colour me wow that Toni mentioned, I think they sell something like that on QV*.
I trust the funeral of your friend was a fitting tribute to them, always a difficult time.
Good that Diaisycat has forgiven you, the little huntress. I am sure there will be a lot of appointment ahead for Lucy. Hugs and good vibes winging their way.
I know, I didn't eat a cake, I must have been off colour. I was tempted, believe me. We are going back again tomorrow, so I think I will force myself, mind you, we are going for coffee and scones first, so it might be greedy to have two cakes - then again, nah, two is fine.
The food market sounds great Barbara, lots of things to taste and nibble. With all those celebs there it will be super busy as you say. The ruins will be very interesting, they would not be allowed to damage them if they are an historic find.
McMillan nurse came to see MIL, we were there as well, she was just lovely, a great sense of humour, but not afraid to talk about things if you know what I mean, no point beating about the bush
We nattered about nursey things and she had a long talk with mum and dad, prescribed some buildup drinks and some anti sickness pills, which should improve her eating. I think the nurse was there nearly two hours. We went off and gathered all the things from the Drs and Chemists.
Mum wants to go for a coffee in the morning, so that's what we will do. Basically the nurse said do what you want to do and feel able to do, as time progresses, we can re think what care needs are required. She will involve the district nurses and will visit again in just over a week.
Now it is pills time, for us and mother puskins.
The day has vanished before our eyes.
Everyone take lots of care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
